"Well I think that's a good start." the pink party girl stared at her paper for a few second "Only 1,999 words left to go." "She smiled, but only for a few seconds before slumping back in her seat "I'm BORED!!" Pinkie pie continued to stare at her paper, until a little idea formed in her head, "OOOH,"
The banana soon started to grow from the banana patch, soon growing eyes and a mouth, it soon grew to 2,000 feet tall, and decided to terrorize the tow, why was it terroizing the town?, because it was tried of being in a oatmeal so often, silly, soon it took over and terrorized the town, but there was one problem--it was a banana, the silly banana didn't realize it was a banana, it soon found itself turning brown and rotting. The End.
"That was easy, let's see how many words that is." She counted it out "OH COME ON ONLY 83, that's crazy, I can't believe how hard it is to write 2,000 words, ugh this is torture." She frantically rubbed out her random story idea and started again.
The alligator did not have a mommy, so I adopted it. The End.
"That isn't even close. Lemme try that again." She once again rubbed out her story and just sat there, staring out the hallway, for something to spark her sporadic brain. Unfortunately, all she saw were the same boring green lockers and not much else. that was, until she saw Sunset Shimmer, something was off about her. She still had red and yellow hair that looked like magic bacon, but her outfit was very different, Instead of her purple shirt, orange skirt and black jacket, she was wearing a light blue blouse, blue jeans, and a different black jacket with yellow .
Oh, and the matching boots.
Wait, she doesn't normally wear that, why is she wearing that, ooh, did she decide to wear that to change the school's perception of her, ooh, maybe the portal changes your clothes every few times you go through it, wait did sunset go through the portal, why is she wearing that. I. MUST. KNOW.
In hindsight, Sunset Shimmer probably should have expected changing her outfit all of a sudden would catch at least someone's attention, but she was still surprised to see Pinkie crowding over her asking about her outfit.
"Hey, where did you get that!"
"PINKIE!!"
"Hey, you can't expect to change your outfit without someone being curious about it. Didn't you hear Mr. Writer guy."
"No. Wait, who's Mr. Writer Guy."
"You don't know, he's the guy who keep talking to us and narrates our lives, he's the guy who posts every story he writes into every group possible, how do you NOT know who he is."
"Must have missed the memo." Sunset forced a laugh, she had no idea what she was talking about, but this was probably just her being her. Or at least she hoped.
"Anyway, uh, Rarity made this for me, my old jacket and skirt got worn, plus throwing the jacket on the ground during the battle of the bands didn't do it favors, heheh, I still keep that old jacket around, if you're so worried about that."
'Hmmm, but WHY did you change it, there has to be a DEEPER meaning for this, like at least something you can jump a, like 2,000 word story off."
Suddenly, all the gears clicked in Sunset's head. "Oh, is this about the story you have to finish for Mr. Reed."
Pinkie nodded "Yes, so, why is this, huh, maybe a charitable act to someone who is not, maybe something to give you that shift in personality you desperately need, or maybe it's a reminder of your newfound family."
Yep, definitely an english assignment.
"Or, or maybe it's-it's..." Sunset put a finger on pinkie's mouth.
"Pinkie you're overreacting, sometimes a wardrobe change is just a wardrobe change." she looked at Pinkie, clearly her attempts at trying not to sound condescending may not have been working. "Pinkie, if you really need my little 'wardrobe change' as inspiration for this assignment, I will not stop you can, but I just don't see how all THAT can come from it." Sunset hoped she hadn't insulted her, the fact her hair was still up was a good sign. "You understand?" Pinkie nodded. "Ok then, glad your not mad at me." She smiled and continued to walk down back over to her house wonder what goes on inside her head.
"Haha, this thing is a breeze, I'll be up to 2,000 words in no time!" Pinkie looked gleefully at the sketches of Sunset in various stages, She-demon, phoenix, normal, and her two outfits, as well as outlines extending past the images between new sketches. gleefully going over to the computer right next to her, and Immediately started writing, gleeful at how easily the words were coming.

Maybe one day, we will stop having so much animosity and she will care for my friends, but for now she lives with my old jacket in that hole.
Sunset Shimmer looked up from her friends' stories, of course it was random, but there was something else, something that set her off, she wasn't sure what, it drove her crazy.
"Well?"
"It IS 2,000 words." Sunset was not sure why she felt so bad reading this, but she didn't want to take it out on her friend, she had worked so hard to gain her trust, but there was still something that made her a bit ticked.
"I can't believe you gave me such a random and nonsensical backstory, I have no idea how you thought of ANY of this, a sister that hates me, being related to some godlike mary sue. Great now she's got me saying that. Sometimes a jacket is just a jacket, you did not have to give me such a complicated and crazy backstory."
"Well, I had to give myself some closure, you never mention any family, or what made you evil, all you did was complain about the mistakes you made, and how hard it was to gain trust, your like an enigma."
"So your solution was to make up some random and crazy story about me."
"There isn't much else, there's not much I know about you, and it drives me crazy, you never talk about your past or memories."
"You know why I can't do that, I don't think it's healthy to think of those times as a concited little brat in Celestia's school, plus it's a bit silly to expect one crazy pivotal idea or event would make me a conceited she-demon, it's ridiculous."
"I'm sorry I worked with what I have."
"And made me some sort of....Mary sue who has a sister who bullies her for no reason!"
"Yeah sorry, should have developed that more."
"Look, I'm not TRYING to be mad at you, there's something that just nags at me with this, I need to think!" Sunset took her coffee and headed home, wanting to find a quiet place where she could compose herself.
Ugh why why why, why did what Pinkie Pie wrote set her off, she admitted it wasn't the WORST story she read, it had a few good moments with herself. But why?! Why did pinkie portray her as related to some godlike mary sue, she was just an average unicorn in Celestia's school, her parents were pretty normal, in fact she's only unicorn on her mother's side, her father is an earth pony. Wait a minute, was she remembering her parents, she could never remember them, everything before becoming a human was a bit fuzzy, it was hard for her to remember specifics. She didn't want to, she knew that those memories of becoming that conceited little filly might sway her back into it, her past was not today, right now was what mattered, why was she suddenly dwelling so much on those memories with her parents.
Oh my gosh, I don't even want to remember my own parents, what did they do to make me like this, they were great parents. Oh man I'm probably as bad as Pinkie is, they were amazing especially that time I tried to gain the hoofkey cutie mark before Celestia took me in after getting my cutie mark.
Wait...
"Oooh, aah"
The firey-haired filly, sat on her parents' couch holding an Icebag near her eye, and a few of her teeth missing, just waiting for her dad to tell her off and express his disappointment, after all, she had failed her father, a very accomplished horsekey player and coach, and here she was scoring on her own goals and getting a black eye and a few cuts on her face.
Within thirty minutes.
So she just sat there hoping to not get chills. (Even though she was wearing her horsekey sweater and a hoofful of scarves, man that will never stop being pathetic.) then her father, Power Play walked in.
Speak of Discord...
The filly sighed, "Go ahead, yell at me, make me guilty, there's no way you can connect with me now, still have no cutie mark. I just...don't like horsekey anyway, so..."
"Sunny, why would I ever tell you anything like that, what kind of parent would I be."
"Someone who wants to stay close to their kid." She sighed at the thought, she was disconnected enough with her family as it is, name and all. "I mean, I am a pony living in Edmustang whose named Sunset shimmer, and wear a horsekey sweater with a simple breeze."
"Sunset, I do not care if you are a mind-controlling she-demon in an alternate universe, I've been with a father who forced me to like everything he liked, why would I ever do that to you?" Sunset began to understand, but was still dejected. "Yes, I am disappointed, but only that you spent most of your life doing things you didn't like because you felt an obligation to me." Sunset lowered her head, feeling a bit guilty now. "Now, Sunset, I'd like you to do something that you like."
"It-it's a bit counter-intuitive.."
"I don't care, I don't want you to spend the rest of your life doing things you don't like, like I said, I think it's high time to do something you actually enjoy."
"Well, OK, can you go into my room and get the book under my bed, I still gotta hold this to my eye."
"Oh, sure hehe" Power Play went into sunset's room and arrived a few moments later with a book of spells."
"Aren't you unicorns just supposed to have a little magic to do whatever their special talent is?"
'What if their special talent IS magic, dad"
"Haha, ask a stupid question..."
Sunset picked it up with her horn and turned it to a small fire spell near the beginning, she focused her horn soon it glowed with sea-green light, turning into a small flame of the same color, Power Play backed off realizing she was aiming for the family fireplace, Sunset soon shot the beam out of her horn, turning more and more yellow as it got closer to the fireplace, soon it sparked an enormous, hey homey blaze. Sunset suddenly felt a feeling within herself, as if she had just spared a a burning passion within her, for the first time in a while, she didn't feel overly cold, she actually felt warm and cozy.
"Dad?"
"Yes?"
Sunset picked up a book from the mantle. "Want to read me something, you know, something other than a hockey playbook."
'Waiting for a long time." Power looked at the book: Where the Mild Things Are, his favorite book, one he hasn't read in a long time.
They both smiled at this little notion.
"'Mashed Potato got sent to his room for wearing his wolf costume at dinner....'"
...
Quite possibly for the first time in her life Sunset shimmer smiled at this old memory.
It was just about closing time at Sugarcube Corner, Pinkie looked a bit sad, as Sunset still hadn't come back and apologize for her little outburst.
She'll apologize eventually, if she apologized for being the queen female dog of Canerlot high and becoming a mind-controlling she-demon, she'll apologize for raising her voice a little.
she sighed as she went over to the door to close up shop, only for Sunset to come in just before her shift was over
Speak of oatmeal...
"Sooo, still mad?"
"A little, I'm just a little annoyed that you made up some out-there story about me being a demi-god and becoming evil because my hypothetical sister hates me, my family life is actually the dead opposite, and honestly, it was just a little wardrobe change" Pinkie Pie hung her head "Bu-but it's not all, your fault, you were right, It was a bit of my fault for making you think that, I shouldn't be that closed off from my friends so much, even if those memories are a bit regrettable, so it was my kinda fault for making you think that, so I'm sorry, and sorry if you think your writing skills affects my perception of you."
"It's okay."
"But Pinkie,"
"Yeah?"
"You DID accomplish one thing."
"Really?"
"yes, you somehow managed to make me look at my past...fondly, no I do not like everything I did, but you managed to remind me that i wasn't ALWAYS so evil and selfesh, it is kinda hard for me to see that, thank you," Sunset went over to hug her "I needed that"
"Thank you, I do have a knack for that, ya know."
They both chuckled, the they stared at each other for a second before sunset asked, "If you'd like I can make that story a little more...Sensical."
HEY, it took me three hours in study hall to write my story, I don't have a time for a rewrite."
Seriously, Pinkie
"Listen you two, I love my parents to death, but you have no idea what they will do to me if I don't come home right after my shifts."
Okay, okay!
"Jeez, just asking!"
