Gus Raymond sat at his computer staring at the screen with high interest. This was the third time this week he'd had to put a brony in his place. Why couldn't they just grow up?
It wasn't as if he hated all fans of the rather popular girl's show, My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic, he just hated the male audience. He'd grown up with three little sisters, they'd loved the old My Little Pony stuff and he was ok with most of the fans. He only hated the bronies over nine.
The brony he was having an internet "discussion" with had started some of the argument by posting a meme about antibronies being A-Holes. Other than this, the brony gave a lot of good points, but Gus was sure his points were sharper. He refreshed the page and read the brony's reply.
I'm not gonna try and continue this fight. I just hope you learn that everyone can have their own opinions. In my opinion, My Little Pony is a wonderful show for all ages.
He groaned and began his reply.
Only a little girl would watch that s-
He gasped as a pain-filled squeak came from the S key. He tapped the key again and heard the same sound. He began to tap it for the third time but he was shocked to see the S key tossed into the air. A small blue creature flew from the keyboard and hovered in front of his face.
"Hi." The creature said with a smile. By the looks of it, this creature was either female or some mutated skittles. She was a cyan blue pegasus with rainbow hair and dark magenta eyes. She looked a little like-
"I'm Rainbow Dash." She interrupted Gus's thoughts.
"You mean you're one of the characters from My Little Pony?" He asked.
"Yep." She grinned and flew a bit closer to his face excitedly, "You a fan?"
"Oh hell no!" He held up his hands as if they were both stop signs.
"Hey, don't use that language!" Rainbow Dash yelled.
"Sorry." Gus rolled his eyes.
"You don't want to ask how I got here?" The pony asked.
"Sure, why not?" Gus waited for her to explain but she did not. "How did you get here?"
A sound that bronies called a squee filled the room. The pony's eyes widened, "Twilight was trying to use a spell to send some spoilers for the next episode to the human world's internet. I accidentally got in the way of the spell. So here I am." She stretched out her hooves happily.
"Don't tell me you're behind the episodes."
"Well, not me exactly." Rainbow looked around, "Twilight is the one who makes them. We even made up fake people so we could broadcast the show."
"Seriously?"
"Yep." Suddenly Rainbow Dash turned around to look at his monitor, her happy smile fell and crashed to the floor, "Huh?"
She began to read his reply but he shut off the screen before she could finish, "You don't want to read that. Trust me."
"What do you mean that My Little Pony is for little girls?" Rainbow Dash looked at him with confusion.
"Well, the internet says that your show is for ages five and up." He explained, "And in the human world, five and up means that it's for little kids."
"But in your world, an adult horse is around five years right?" Rainbow Dash asked, receiving a nod from Gus, she continued, "Then since I'm an adult in my world I should be an adult in your word. That would make me five in horse years."
"So the show is really only for adults?" Gus raised a brow.
Rainbow Dash shook her head really fast. "No, no, no. It's on a family network and its rated family friendly."
Suddenly Gus heard a small growl. Rainbow Dash flinched slightly and rubbed her stomach, "Got any food? I haven't eaten since breakfast."
"I'd rather find out how to send you back home."
"But I'm HUNGRYYYYY!" Rainbow Dash whined.
"Ok fine!" He got up from his seat, "What do you want to eat?"
"I like cake." Rainbow Dash smiled.
"How about some Doritos and Mt Dew?"
"Ok!" Rainbow Dash flew into the kitchen, she looked around. Being only four inches tall, the house was like a mansion to her. "You have a large house."
"It's an apartment," Gus replied as he opened the fridge door and pulled out the soda. He didn't want to have her here at all; the fact that she was lost was the only reason she hadn't been kicked out. "I'm starting to wonder if you're actually real."
"I am real!" Rainbow Dash said as she sat on the counter.
"You could be a holographic projection or something." He said, remembering the last time the kids in the apartment across the hall had made a hologram of Celestia telling him he was going to hell
"Would a hologram do this?" Rainbow Dash flew to his face and bit his nose. The pain was so real that he backed up and fell onto his cat, Tiger let out a howl and clawed him on the ear.
"Ooh, you have a pet!" Rainbow Dash smiled but then seemed a little bored, "I prefer tortoises."
"Don't bite me again!"
"You believe I'm real. Right?" Rainbow asked.
"Yes." Gus groaned as he rubbed his nose.
After lunch, Rainbow Dash seemed content on napping, so Gus went to Skype with his friends. The first person to answer the Skype call was George Anderson. His friend was practically the boss of their Antibronies group in California.
"Hey, dude," George said he didn't have a camera so his Skype avatar of a pony Xed out stared at Gus.
"How are you doing Geo?" Gus smiled.
"Nothing really. Chris on yet?"
"Nope." Gus looked at the ceiling, "Do you believe in other dimensions?"
The silence that preceded was painful. Gus began to wonder if he'd said something wrong. "I mean like, a brony said there were other dimensions and their ponies lived in them." He snorted.
"That's the craziest thing I've ever heard! He must be a dumb a-" George was interrupted.
"D-Don't use s-swear words." Gus shuddered a bit.
"Why not?"
Gus searched for a good answer, "Dude, my cat is sleeping in the other room. Last time I used a swear word she nicked me behind the ears."
George began to laugh loudly. Suddenly Chris entered the room and the laughter stopped. It started up again when George told Chris what Gus had said.
"Really?" Chris grinned.
"Yeah..." Gus groaned.
A large crash sounded from the kitchen and Gus immediately jumped from his chair and raced to the kitchen. He watched in horror as Tiger chased Rainbow Dash around the room, the small pegasus seemed to be taunting her. Gus reached out and grabbed the unsuspecting pony.
"Don't tease the cat."
"Sorry." Rainbow laughed, "I was bored."
"GUS! We have to talk about what to do about those stupid pony fans and their stupid ponies!" George's yell rang loudly into the air.
"Stupid?" Rainbow Dash growled, "I'll show him!" She struggled out of Gus's grip and raced to the computer.
The small blue pony Hovered in front of the screen, Gus didn't have a camera so no one saw her. She began to hit the speaker until it made annoying high pitch sounds, "PONIES AREN'T STUPID!"
"Who is that?" Chris asked, he was the only one with a camera and he shielded his ears on the monitor.
"My niece." Gus lied as he scooped up Rainbow Dash and held her mouth shut.
"She watches the show?" Chris asked.
"She's like...5." Gus replied, "I'll put her to bed."
Gus walked upstairs with the small pony squirming in his hands, "I want you to stay in here and be quiet!" He opened the bathroom door.
"Why the bathroom?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"There are no windows so you can't get out. Plus the sink drips so you have a water supply." Gus replied, "I'll bring some food in later." He shut the door, leaving the pony in the bathroom. He locked the door just to be on the safe side.
Gus walked into the bathroom about an hour after leaving Rainbow in there. She carried a small platter of grapes, peanuts, and some cheese. Whatever he thought ponies from other dimensions might eat. He opened the door and gasped when he saw the yellow puddle that stretched across the tile floor.
"What?" He asked.
"I had to go..." Rainbow Dash sat on the rim of the bathtub looking down at the puddle.
"You couldn't have gone in the sink or something? Like the toilet maybe?" Gus shut the lid of the toilet and sat the food on it.
"I don't know how to use your fancy toilets!" Rainbow Dash said.
"How did you get a puddle that big?" He asked, "You're like three inches tall..."
"FOUR!" Rainbow Dash yelled.
"Ok, four inches tall." Gus rolled his eyes.
"I wanna go home." Rainbow Dash squeaked.
"I'm sorry, I don't know how to do that yet,"
"We could send me back the way I came!" The pony flew into the air.
"I'm not taking the S key of my keyboard again!"
"No, I mean we can send me through the internet!" Rainbow Dash grinned, "Twilight sends our show episodes to this company called Hasbro. We just have to go to their studio!"
"And where is their studio?"
"They have a bunch but there is one in America. Isn't that where we are? America?"
"Yes."
"I know the address!" Rainbow Dash grinned, "Just drive me there!"
"And what is the address?" Gus asked.
"2950 N Hollywood Way #100, Burbank, CA 91505!" Rainbow Dash smiled.
"That's like three hours away!" Gus gasped.
"So?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"I guess it's ok but how are we going to get you home from there?"
"Hasbro has this secret portal that they use to get the episodes from Twilight and all their other shows," Rainbow said.
"Other shows?" Gus asked.
"You know. Strawberry Shortcake, Transformers, Pound Puppies, Littlest Pet Shop." Rainbow Dash nodded excitedly.
"You're telling me that each show has its own universe?" Gus asked.
"Yep. Well, except for Animaniacs..." Rainbow Dash trailed off, "They really do live in that Warner Bros tower."
"You're kidding right?"
"Nope."
It took a while to pack up the car so he could drive to Burbank. Gus had cut some holes into an old sock so Rainbow Dash could have a disguise for when they sneak into Hasbro Studios. He hoped that he wouldn't get arrested for breaking and entering.
Rainbow Dash sat on the passenger seat. "Either you buckle up, or hide under the seat!" Gus looked down at her and said.
Suddenly he looked up and saw Chris and George walking up to him, "Under the seat." He said in a whisper. Rainbow Dash did not hesitate.
"Hey, dude," George said.
"What ya up to?" Chris asked.
"Just going out for a drive." Gus replied, "I ohm...Got a job interview in Burbank."
"And where will you be working?" George asked, "McDonalds?"
"I-" Gus began.
"It's hard to believe you could get a job anywhere." Chris joked, "Especially since you didn't finish high school."
"My parents needed me to drop out to help pay the bills," Gus looked down a bit sadly.
"I guess," George said with a chuckle.
Gus knew they weren't trying to be mean, but they weren't being nice either, "Well I got to go." Gus waited until the two were gone before driving off.
"Those guys were mean." Rainbow Dash said.
"Yeah, but they don't mean anything by it," Gus said.
"I kind of wish that they'd realize that they're jerks and maybe become fans..." Rainbow Dash looked up at the car's ceiling.
"They'd never watch My Little Pony in a millennium."
"That's cause they see a bunch of colorful ponies with girly voices to be something little kids would watch." Rainbow Dash's voice seemed a little sad, "They don't see the practical side of it."
"Practical side?" Gus looked at her when he came to a stop at a stop sign.
"Yeah. When Twilight first discovered your world, she noticed all kinds of wars that had taken place here." Rainbow Dash sat on the seat and continued to explain, "She read up on your world so much that she was depressed for weeks!"
"She decided that if she could give your world a show about ponies with different colors, races, talents, backgrounds, personalities, beliefs, and destinies fighting villains together..." Rainbow Dash looked up at Gus, "Then maybe people in your world could team up with people who are different and defeat all of life's problems. She wanted to create peace. But it all backfired when you antibronies came along." Rainbow Dash looked down sadly, "Maybe we shouldn't have tried to interfere."
"I think you guys had a good idea." Gus said, "Its just too late for us humans I guess."
"It's never too late!" Rainbow smiled.
"Maybe..." Gus trailed off.
"What's this?" Rainbow Dash said as she flew to investigate the car's radio.
"That's a radio. We play music on it." Gus replied as he turned it on.
Loud rock music blasted from the speakers. Rainbow Dash was sent to the back of the car due to the soundwaves. She hit the seat and fell onto the floor. Gus turned off the radio, "You ok?"
"I think so..." Rainbow Dash rubbed her ears. "Please, never turn that on again."
"Sorry." Gus laughed.
The drive had lasted only two hours when Gus decided to get something for dinner. He parked the car at a KFC and unbuckled the seatbelt. He began to open the door when a sleepy Rainbow Dash looked up at him, "Where are you going?"
"I'm gonna get some dinner. You stay here and I'll bring you back a cookie." At the mention of "cookie," Rainbow's ears perked up. Gus was amazed at the fact that these ponies loved sweets. Rainbow Dash nodded rapidly.
"Ok then. Stay put!" Gus stepped out and shut the door.
Rainbow Dash sat on the dashboard and looked out the large window, she looked at the night sky. Her ears fell flat against her head as she thought about what her friends were probably doing without her. She felt extremely homesick, no matter how awesome she was, this was a scary place.
She looked at the passenger window and watched as a car pulled into the parking spot next to her. A woman stepped out after rolling down a bit of the window in the back. In the backseat was a young girl who was clutching a pink pony in her hands. Rainbow Dash's heart raced. What was Pinkie Pie doing here?
She noticed that the window on the passenger side was rolled down just a bit. She flew to it and began to crawl outside. Who needed a cookie when you can say hello to a friend.
When the little girl wasn't looking, Rainbow flew into the car and landed next to Pinkie Pie.
"Pinkie!" She whispered, "What are you doing here?"
She received no reply.
"PINKIE!" She said.
"Who's there?" The little girl sounded scared as she slowly turned around.
Rainbow Dash gasped and tried to fly out the window but the girl noticed her, "Oh, Dashie!"
"Leave me alone."
"You can talk?" The girl had reached out to her but now hesitated.
"Yes...?"
"Can we be friends?" The little girl smiled.
"Ohm...sure. why not." Rainbow rolled her eyes.
"I'm Stephanie. Stephanie Sparrows." She smiled adorably, "I'm seven years old!"
"Nice..." Rainbow Dash prepared to fly back out. "I've gotta dash now."
"Can you do a Sonic Rainboom for me?" The girl's eyes lit up.
"No, sorry. I've got a lot of stuff to do." Rainbow looked around. Suddenly she realized, this was a fan of her! She couldn't let down a fan! "I could maybe do some cool stunts if you'd like." She received a nod.
She did several stunts until she could hardly fly, "I think I should go now." She flew out of the car and smiled.
"Will you come back?" The girl asked.
"I'm afraid not..." Rainbow looked around.
"Oh." The girl looked down sadly, "I wish you'd stay."
"I'm sorry..." Rainbow would have liked to stay but she also really liked the idea of having a cookie. "What's over there?" She asked.
The girl turned to where Rainbow had been looking. Rainbow Dash flew back into Gus's car and sat down just as the girl looked back. Rainbow Dash sighed with relief that she'd gotten out of there.
Soon Gus returned, "I got you a cookie."
Rainbow Dash uttered a loud squee as he sat the cookie in the seat. It was large, round and stuffed with chocolate chips! She munched happily.
"So what did you do while I was gone?" Gus asked as he started the car.
"I..." Rainbow Dash looked over at the car next to them as Gus pulled out of the space. The girl seemed sad, "I didn't do much."
Gus parked the car behind some trees once he came up to the Hasbro building. He looked down at Rainbow Dash, who was using the bag that the cookie had been in as a sleeping bag. He poked her awake. "We're here," Gus said.
"I'm going home!" Rainbow Dash flew out of the bag and began to dance around in midair.
"Get your disguise on," Gus said as he handed her the sock.
She slipped through the hole and when she looked him she looked like an adorable black PacMan ghost with magenta eyes, "Let's go!" She squeaked.
Gus smiled as he stepped out of the car and into the night. Rainbow Dash followed energetically. He put his finger to his lip and made a shushing sound. Rainbow nodded.
"We are going to sneak through the back entrance-" Gus whispered.
"The guard will be walking out of the building in a few moments. We can slip past him and get into the front entrance." Rainbow Dash said.
"How do you know that?" He asked.
"He's standing at the door." Rainbow Dash pointed.
"Oh..."
Soon they slipped inside. Gus sighed with relief as the walked into another room, "What now?"
"We find the room with the secret portal." Rainbow Dash replied.
"And where would that be?"
"Probably in that room down the hall." Rainbow Dash pointed to a door down a hallway with the sigh, "Secret Portal To Cartoon Dimension. Advanced Personel Only."
Gus rolled his eyes as they walked. Suddenly he stopped, "Wait!"
"What?"
"There may be lasers." Gus said, "We have to be careful."
"Oooh, lasers!" Rainbow Dash seemed excited.
"We need to figure out a way to get past them."
"Don't worry!" Rainbow Dash said, "After that 500 million dollar fight with Disney over the Disney Princesses, Hasbro wouldn't be able to afford Lasers."
"And they somehow managed to get a secret portal?" Gus raised an eyebrow.
"They had that way before then."
"Okay..." Gus looked down the hall. He walked forward and was surprised that he wasn't being electrocuted by lasers.
They walked down the hall in amazing swagger until they reached the door. Gus used a paperclip to unlock the door and then opened it slowly. No alarms went off.
He looked at the large portal it wasn't as cool as he'd thought. An old Dell computer sat hooked up to a small 3D printer that was also a scanner. Rainbow Dash flew towards it.
"So I guess this is goodbye?" Gus asked.
"I guess so." Rainbow Dash sat on a small platform. She seemed a little sad.
"I'll turn it on." Gus started up the computer. He looked at Rainbow Dash and noticed she was whipping her eyes, "Something wrong?"
"I just had so much fun here." She looked up at him as she got out of the sock, "I'm gonna miss it all."
"I'm sure once you get home you'll forget about everything here and go on crazy adventures with your friends."
"But you're still gonna be an antibrony." Rainbow Dash said, "You're still not gonna watch My Little Pony and you're still going to hate on bronies."
"After today I'm sure I'm not gonna be an antibrony." He laughed.
"Really?" Rainbow Dash looked happy.
"Yeah." Gus turned back to the screen and began to set the portal to send Rainbow back home, "Ready?"
"Wait!" Rainbow Dash flew up and hugged his arm as much as a small pony could. She then flew back to the platform and sat down, "Ready."
He stared at the computer screen for a few moments and then he clicked the "send" button and watched as Rainbow Dash vanished. He would have to forget about everything that happened.
A few days had passed. Gus was no longer hanging out with George and Chris. He leaned back on his couch. Tiger was curled up in his lap as he flipped through the channels on his TV.
He suddenly came across a show. He stopped when it began to play. He'd missed the whole episode but had been in enough time for the end. He set the remote down on the couch arm and watched.
After a few minutes, the last scene came on. The pony that was up on the screen was of a very familiar cyan blue pegasus with rainbow hair. She winked her magenta eyes to the audience and laughed as she shot off out of the scene. Then the credits rolled.
