Power Ponies and Willpower

The city of Maretropolis, home to the Power Ponies, the superhero team who defend it from villainy. It's a pleasant afternoon in HQ, the Power Ponies are enjoying themselves to kill time. "Awfully quiet, too quiet." Zapp said feeling uneasy.

"I suppose it is but it gives me plenty of time for more magazine shoots and personal beauty management." Radiance said in her usual tone. "By the way, where is our fearless leader?" she asked.

"I believe she left to the city library." Zapp answered.

"Maybe she'll bump into a nice stallion and fall in love, the egghead could use some love in her life." Radiance said. Meanwhile in the city, the Masked Matter-horn was walking down the street in her civilian identity Trot Summers.

"I swear if a villain suddenly attacks after all of the quiet, ill be completely powerless since I left my costume at HQ." she thought. She continues walking until she notices a café close by. "I'll get some iced tea before I head to the library." she thought. She approaches the entrance and at the same time a white coated stallion approaches as well and they nearly bump into each other. "Oh! Sorry, you first." she said.

"No it was my bad, you first." he said.

"No its ok, you first." she said.

"I insist, mares first." he said calmly. She blushes a little and goes in first, she sees its packed and there's only one table left.

"Oh dang it! Only one table." she said feeling frustrated.

"I can share, I know we don't know each other but I don't mind." he said to her.

"Well... I... I guess we can do that." she said sounding shy. She looks at the menu and the price of the drink she wants. "Let's see." she mumbled as she checks her balance. "Ok I have enough." she mumbled.

"She's cuter in person." he thought to himself. They both reach the counter and made their purchases and sat together. "If my friends saw me here they'd think I was on a date." he said as he drank his water. She blushes and hides her face with her book, suddenly they hear the news on a TV.

"This just in, the super villain High Heel has broken into a nearby store and stolen several pounds of money and footwear." the reporter said.

"Oh no, i was afraid of this." she thought.

"That's nearby." he said as he stared at the screen. She looks at him.

"What's on his mind?" she wondered.

"I uh got to go, it was nice meeting you, um." he said as he stood up from the table.

"Trot, Trot Summers." she introduced herself.

"Muyo, bye." he said as he leaves. She raised an eyebrow and found his behavior suspicious.

"I wonder what got into him?" she wondered. "I should follow him to make sure he doesn't get hurt." she thought. She stood up and started to walkout of the café, she runs to where High Heel was last seen, she hurried and ran as fast as she could, when she finally reached the area she found a big surprise. "What the?" she reacted. She saw that High Heel was defeated and her teammates weren't being interviewed by the reporters, Fili-Second sees her and quickly dresses her up in her costume to avoid suspicion. "What's going on? Did you stop High Heel?" she asked.

"Nope, not us." Fili-Second answered her.

"Looks like there is a new guy in town." Mistress Mare-velous said. Masked Matter-horn approaches the group of reporters and sees somepony wearing a black and gold suit and a mask.

"Tells us your name!" a reporter said to him.

"My name is Willpower, Maretropolis's newest superhero." he introduced himself humbly. Masked Matter-horn quickly recognized his voice.

"He's the stallion from earlier!" she thought. Zapp nudges her.

"You ok Matter-horn?" Zapp asked her.

"Is our leader infatuated? He is rather handsome in that outfit." Radiance said. Masked Matter-horn approached him.

"Um, hello there Willpower, i am Masked Matter-horn, leader of the Power Ponies, we welcome you to our city." she said.

"It's a pleasure to meet you." he said. "For the second time." he mumbled. The reporters start asking questions.

"Are you going to team up?" one asked.

"Are you going to join their team?" another asked.

"Do you have the hots for any of them?" yet another asked. The six heroines blushed at that last one.

"Now now let's not make any assumptions, I've only just met them." he said to them.

"I ship him with Masked Matter-horn!" a colt said out loud. Masked Matter-horn felt more embarrassed than she has ever felt.

"I can see that happening." Radiance whispered to her teasing. Masked Matter-horn tries to keep her composure.

"Willpower, if you could please come to our HQ, as fellow heroes we should be better acquainted." she said. "And to get away from anymore embarrassing questions." she whispered. He nods and goes with them to their HQ, once there, Willpower looked around. "Could you leave us alone for a minute?" she asked her teammates. They nod and leave them be, after which she stood in front of him. "Ok Willpower, who are you?" she asked.

"You sure i can reveal my identity?" he asked.

"I know its you, Muyo." she said bluntly. He dematerializes his mask.

"Perceptive, how did you figure it out?" he asked.

"Well for one you left after seeing High Heel's crime being in-progress, something i would've done if i had brought my costume, second i recognized your voice." she explained. He grins.

"My voice huh? Oddly specific." he said.

"We just met, but that's besides the point, if you're a hero like us, how come you didn't appear till now?" she asked.

"I moved in this city last night." he explained.

"That's it?" she asked.

"Yep, as for my powers, i used to work at an energy research lab till they picked me to test out a new type of energy, after the test i didn't show any change so they laid me off and as i searched for a new job i developed the ability to fly, increased strength, durability, and energy blasts." he explained.

"I see." she responded.

"I'm still fertile so i can still make babies." he said.

"That was rather random." she said.

"Sorry, i want to be a dad some day but no mare has wanted to even give me a chance, that's kind of why i moved, that and a new job i got." he explained. She looks at him and notices he's tearing a little. "Anyway, I'm not gonna bore you with my sob stories." he said.

"It's ok, we're all fellow heroes here, you can share as much as you need too." she said. He smiled. "Let's go talk to the others, we've been keeping them waiting long enough." she said. They approach the others. "Willpower these are Mistress Mare-velous, Zapp real name Aurora, Fili-Second real name Marey Allen, Saddle Rager real name Spruce Spanner, Radiance real name Green Gardener, and our sidekick Hum Drum." she introduced. "And i am Masked Matter-horn, real name Trot Summers." she introduced herself.

"Also known as the pretty one of the group." he said. She blushes but Radiance isn't amused.

"I am the pretty one fyi." Radiance said.

"I think he's into Trot." Saddle Rager whispered to her.

"I can tell, miss obvious." Radiance whispered back sounding irritated.

"Anyway let's show him around HQ." Masked Matter-horn said. They show him around the HQ, every room and so on, as he was shown around he couldn't help but feel nostalgic.

"This reminds me of them, if only a bit much." he thought. At the end of the day they all gather at the living room. "I got to say you have a great HQ." he said to them.

"Does this mean that you'll be part of the team?" Hum Drum asked.

"Not yet, he has to earn it, Muyo we want you to work with us, if you prove yourself by the end of the month then you're in." Masked Matter-horn explained.

"Of course, i understand." he said. "I guess ill head home then." he said.

"You could stay here, makes it easier to call for you." Masked Matter-horn said.

"I won't be a burden." he said.

"I doubt you will be." she said. "Well i think its time we all hit the hay, good night team." she said as she heads to her room. They all say good night to each other and head to their rooms, Muyo looks out the window.

"They remind me of them, i wonder how they are doing?" he wonders. He lays on the couch and drifts into sleep.
