Power Ponies and Willpower

Muyo hasn't been the same since that night, he learned that there is more to his powers than he knew, now he's focused on testing his powers to figure out the mysteries of it. "Ok, I'm usually green, my energy is that color, but last night my color changed to indigo then pink, why?" he thought to himself. "Was it a reaction of some kind? Chemical? Hormonal? Emotional?" he continued to think. Masked Matter-horn entered.

"Hey Willpower." she greeted as she approached. "You're not in costume?" she asked.

"Oh I was just about too." he answered. He focuses his energy to materialize his costume.

"That is useful." she said.

"I think there's more to my powers then I thought, when I was with High Heel my energy changed to indigo for a moment then dissipated." he said.

"I've been meaning to ask about that, what did you do exactly?" she asked.

"She was going to spring a trap but her ally was a no show so she had a fit out of frustration, I calmed her down and we had a talk, after that she gave up on crime and left." he explained.

"No romantic kiss?" she joked.

"Nah." he said rolling his eyes. "I have my heart set on somepony else, and she's not a villain, you could say she's got cute eyewear." he said. Masked Matter-horn froze in place.

"Eyewear?! Is it me? It's got to be me! W-Who else has cute eyewear in this team? Not cute though, functional, unless he thinks it's cute! Does he think I'm cute?! Oh my gosh!" she thought to herself. Muyo stares.

"Masked? Masked!" he called. "Matter-horn!!" he shouted. Masked Matter-horn snaps out of it.

"Huh? What?" she asked as she woke up from her daydream. "Sorry about that." she said.

"Why did?-" he asked.

"Nothing." she interrupted. "So when did the energy change color?" she asked.

"Well I gave her a hug as she cried on my shoulder and that's when it changed." he explained.

"Hmm, I wonder if it's because of an emotion you were feeling at the time." she wondered. "But what emotion could indigo represent?" she wondered again.

"Compassion? That's what I felt at the time." he asked. "She turned to crime after she lost her parents, her fortune and suitors, she was lashing out to fill the void, hopefully I helped her enough." he said. Masked stared as she saw him glow indigo then blue, he looks at her. "What?" he asked.

"You glowed indigo and then blue when you said hope." she said. "Quick think about compassion." she said. He does so by thinking about the compassion in his heart, his suit changes color to indigo.

"Whoa." he responded.

"Think about hope." she said. He nods and does so and again he changes color to blue. "That's it, emotions, your colors change based on emotion." she concluded. "But what would green be?" she asked.

"Willpower." he said. He changes color to green upon saying that.

"How do you know?" she asked.

"Remember what I told you about how I got my powers? The type of energy they were researching was based on emotion, green was willpower according to them but that's all I remember." he explained. "Indigo is compassion and blue is hope, that we now know." he added.

"I wonder what the other colors are." she wondered.

"I'm hoping for white or black." he said.

"What emotion could those possibly represent?" she asked.

"Life and death?" he asked.

"Those aren't emotions." she said.

"Fair enough." he said. "I don't think my powers are any different whether I'm blue or green." he said.

"You should try it." she said. Willpower tries all of his known powers while blue and indigo, flight, energy blasts, barriers, no difference.

"Nothing different, although I sense something." he said.

"Sense?" she asked.

Meanwhile in another part of the base, Mistress is trying to fix a chair. "Come on, come on you blasted thing." Mistress Mare-velous mumbled. She fails and starts feeling rage. Willpower's body changes color to red.

"I sense rage from mistress." he said.

"Red." Masked said. Meanwhile Filli-Second is raiding the fridge, his body changes to orange upon sensing it. "Orange?" she asked.

"Greed, avarice." he said. He starts to feel tired. "I'm feeling drained." he said.

"Ok let's stop, it seems you can sense emotions which brings out the other colored energies, why don't we go to the living room so you can relax?" she said to him. He nods and walks with her to the living room, once there he sits down.

"Where were you two?" Zapp asked them.

"Testing my powers, I'm drained." he answered. "I always thought the only time I'd be drained is after marriage." he added.

"So what did you find?" Zapp asked.

"My colors change based on emotion." he answered.

"That's all?" she asked.

"That and he can sense emotions, though he can turn it on and off." Masked explained.

"It drains me when used too much but I doubt I'll use it often." he added. "There's one emotion I'm wondering if it has a color or not, but I have no idea how to test it." he said.

"What is it?" Masked asked. Willpower has a reluctant expression.

"I rather test it out myself, in private." he said. They look at each other then him.

"You can tell us, we're a team." Masked Matter-horn said to him. He stays quiet. "Let us help you." she added. He sighs.

"Fine, but I won't tell you the emotion until the color changes." he said. Masked nods as agreement. "You asked for it." he said in his mind. "I'll read your emotions, in this case the emotion I have in mind, let me know when I change color." he said to her.

"I'm ready." she said. Willpower focuses his energy and tries to sense a specific emotion, after a few seconds he finds the emotion he's looking for, he focuses on it and finds Masked Matter-horn's true feelings, as this happens his body changes color to pink. "Pink? What emotion could that be?" she asked. After a few seconds she realizes what pink could represent and blushes, Zapp grins. "Willpower what was the emotion you wanted to see if it had a color?" she asked. She sees that he's blushing and smiling but avoiding eye contact.

"It was love wasn't it?" Zapp asked. Willpower nods lightly.

"I didn't want to say what it was because I didn't want to invade your thoughts." he explained. Masked gives him a half smile.

"So... You know how I feel?" she asked.

"Yeah... I guess we both feel that way about each other." he said.

"Then I guess it's appropriate if I do this?" she asked as she got closer.

"Do what?" he asked. Masked Matter-horn kisses him in the lips, his aura glows brighter. "Whoa." he responded. "So... now that we know each other's feelings, want to go out on a date?" he asked.

"Absolutely." she answered. She looks to her left and sees the rest of the team staring and smiling.

"We have our first superhero couple guys." Radiance said smiling. "When's your first date?" she asked.

"Tomorrow night, restaurant and fair?" he asked.

"Sounds like a good start." she answered. "I'll be in the library." she says. She kisses his cheek then goes.

"Yes!" he shouted. He flies around happily. "I finally have a date with the mare of my dreams!" he said in his mind.

"Now if only we could find dates." Saddle Rager said.

"Nah, we have Willpower, he can bang us with our leader's permission." Filli-Second said.

"You still think that?" Mistress Mare-velous asked.

"A mare can have her fantasies." she replied. They roll their eyes.

Meanwhile on the other side, unicorn pony knocks on somepony's door.

"Hey Muyo, how is the writing going?" the pony asked. No answer. "He's starting to worry me, at least the comics are going well, strange how Willpower looks eerily similar to him." he said. Inside the room, there's a comic that continues endlessly.
