Twilight woke up with a start, her sweat was dripping off her ruffled mane. She panted and looked around. Moonlight filled the entire room, except for her bed. She relaxed even though what she just dreamt was not something to relax about. It was the 6th time Twilight had this exact nightmare, but this time it felt more real then all the others. She lied on her bed for several minutes, asking herself why she was having these nightmares, and why it was the same one over, and over, and over. Twilight started to slowly drift to sleep again when she heard something that made her body shake with adrenaline. A soft rust came from beside her bed. She realized that it was just her baby dinosaur, Spike.
“That nightmare again?”, He asked.
“How did you know? I never told you or anypony.”, Twilight answered.
“It is not hard to figure it out. You've been changing alot lately.”, Spike responded.
“Really? Well, we can’t talk all night.”, Twilight said, quickly ending the conversation.
“Tomorrow we need to get alot of things done. Goodnight, Spike.”
“Goodnight, Twilight.”, Spike answered with a sigh. Twilight sunk into her bed, but she didn’t sleep. Her nightmare was too vivid.
Twilight yawned as the bright morning sun filled the sky. Her ears perked up as she heard a knock come from the front door. She ran to it and opened it. Applejack was standing in the front door.
“Hello Applejack, what brings you here this early?”
“Can I talk to you?”, Applejack said abruptly.
“Yes, please make yourself comfortable.”, Twilight said as Applejack stepped into the door and plopped down on the couch. Twilight sat down on the couch with Applejack.
“What do you want to talk about?”
“Can I be honest for a second?” Applejack was not sounding like herself. Twilight was getting worried.
“Yes, of course.” Applejack paused and thought for a second.
“Are you alright, sugarcube?” Twilight looked at her surprised, trying to not look concerned.
“What are you talking about?”
“Gig’s up, Twilight. I know something's wrong.” Twilight sighed. Applejack was right. She couldn’t keep trying to hid her nightmares from her friends.
“Alright, I’ll tell you. It’s... just...” Twilight was trying to think of an excuse for the real problem.
“I... haven’t had much to eat lately. Spike has eaten all the food.”
“Now I know that is not true.” A familiar voice came from the door. A whir of rainbow colored mane whizzed passed Twilight and Applejack.
“And I don’t eat that much Twilight!”, Spike said as he came downstairs. Fluttershy also came through the open front door. Twilight tried to comprehend what was happening. She tried to talk, but only partial words came out. By now Rarity was in her house and was walking around. Suddenly Fluttershy sat down right in front of Twilight and looked straight into her eyes.
“It’s ok Twilight, you can tell us.” Twilight looked away and thought for a moment.
“What day is it?”, Twilight asked quickly.
Applejack responded, “It’s the 6th of June, why?”
“Pinkie Pie’s Picnic. When we go to her picnic I’ll tell you all what is bothering me. Now Go!” Twilight shooed out all the ponies and shut the door behind them.
“Why couldn’t you just tell them then?”, Spike asked as he got out breakfast.
“It is too... too... horrific.” By now Twilight was acting strange again. Almost daydreaming, yet a scared emotion was plastered on her face.
“You better tell me right now.”, Spike said. Twilight moved in a sudden motion that made Spike jump.
She almost strangled him and yelled, “NO!” That is when Twilight realized what she was doing. She let go of the now frightened Spike and dropped to the floor, crippled. She was going insane. This realization made her cry.
“You are not ok.”, Spike said as he tried to comfort his beloved purple pony.
“I know, but I am not going to go anywhere.”, Twilight said as she stood up.
“But I am going to figure out how to get rid of these nightmares.
