Chapter 1

I am awake in an instant. At first I was caught wondering what had woken me up so suddenly until I feel another jolt come from my stomach. I groan in annoyance. I had not had a peaceful nights rest in months and it was always because I'd wake up in the middle of the night with this foal kicking at the walls of my uterus.

I gingerly get up from the bed so as to not put too much pressure on my special package, and so I don't wake the lunar pegasus sleeping beside me. Once I finally find myself on my four hooves, I have to practically drag myself out to the kitchen. Between the weight I have been putting on as reserve calories for my foal and the foal itself, I feel like I have to drag a bag of bricks everywhere I go.

When I went for a walk in the woods several months ago, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. If I could have changed one thing, I would have told him I was in heat before we even started. But at the same time, I am kind of glad I didn't. As weird as it may sound, I'm glad he got me pregnant because if he hadn't, we probably would not have become as close as we are now.

StarDance was the pony that I needed to come into my life, I was becoming more and more homesick as time went on and I didn't have time to make friends if I was to earn enough bits to keep a store and a house. Sure i chatted with a few ponies while serving them or their foals, but I never got the chance to know any of them. StarDance was perfect. He has always been caring, helpful, and he has been the most accommodating pony I have ever known.

Even though he is a nocturnal creature by nature, he has adapted to sleeping at night and coming to my shop with me in the mornings. Our parlor had become a hangout for foals after school. They would come, eat our ice cream, talk about how terrible school is, and sometimes gawk at Star like he is an exotic animal in a zoo. Although he had expressed his discomfort to me in the matter, I cant help but laugh when they don't quite know what to make of him. But why should they, they never see lunar pegasi during the day.

One of the most important things that he puts up with is my constantly changing emotions brought on by the bundle of "joy" in my belly. Out union was quick and we didn't have many ties to each other even after our act in the woods, and yet he stuck around and he still helps me with whatever I need his assistance with which is progressively becoming more and more as I get further into my pregnancy.

In a way, I feel bad for having dragged him into this. He claims if was completely his decision to help in any way possible but I cant help but feel this is primarily my doing. If I had warned him at any point before or during our intimacy that I was on my heat cycle, he would have at least known the outcome should he finish inside of me, at least he would have had a choice. Instead, it wasn't until I was full of his seed that I told him that he had just knocked me up.

My eyes become moist. I always feel so stupid when I think about that. The stallion whom I love and who loves me back is here because I backed him into a corner. He could claim the contrary all he wanted but at the end of the day, I know it was because of my lack of foresight.

I slowly make my way to the sink to fill up a glass of water for myself. One of the worst parts of having a foal inside of me is that it actually inhibits my magic output and only allows me to cast minor incantations or levitate something for a very short period of time. If you think you are going to be just fine getting pregnant because you are a unicorn, think again. I have never had to use my hooves and mouth more in my entire life than I have in these past few months.

In addition I have to walk around an absurd amount of time throughout each day. When I trot through town, my belly bounces slightly and puts my foal right to sleep, however as soon as I sit or lay down it is kicking me constantly.

I bite down on the rim of the glass and lean my head back to take a drink. I set my glass down on the counter top next to the sink and begin to pace back and forth in the kitchen in an attempt to rock my foal back to sleep. I must have been louder than I had anticipated because when I turn around I'm greeted with the sight of a sleepy pegasus wiping his eyes with the front of his wings.

"Did I wake you?" I ask apologetically.

He walks over to me and plants a kiss on my cheek. "Just a little bit, but don't feel bad, I'm a very light sleeper."

"Sorry, our foal is keeping me up again." I reply, justifying my actions.

"Not surprised." He says groggily, pressing a hoof to my oversized stomach. "It seems to be calmed down now."

As if on queue, I feel the foal slam its hoof into my belly again. "You were saying?"

"Right..." He returns, chuckling softly.

I resume pacing around the kitchen in an attempt to quell the foal. He sits there silent for a bit, watching me walk in circles before finally saying something.

"Whats wrong Sherbet?" He asks with a hint of worry on his face.

"Dammit." I think to myself. "He must have noticed the moister in my eyes, curse his predatorily enhanced abilities!"

"Nothing Star." I say to him, hoping that he buys it. "Just that I haven't been sleeping well, thats all."

"Come on Sherbet, I love you, you can tell me anything." He says. "Just let me help."

Those three words get me every time. He is so sincere when he tells me he loves me that it makes it hard to resist doing whatever he wants me to do.

"Fine." I concede. "I was just reminding myself a little bit ago that it was my lack of foresight that made you stick with me."

I was expecting him to instantly deny the very thought as soon as it came out of my mouth. Instead, he comes up behind me, wraps his forelegs around my neck, and pulls me close so we were both sitting in as tight of an embrace as we could with my huge belly in the way.

"And yours was the best mistake of my life." My heart melts. I almost feel like I cant possibly deserve somepony like him. Yet he ended up sticking my my side. If one would ask for proof of his love, it would be evident from day to day just by how special he treats me.

We break our embrace and I go to wipe the tears from my eyes that I didn't even know I had shed.

"Thank you, I feel much better now." I whisper to him. "That helped more than you will ever know."

He smiles at me. "Anything for my favorite mare." He says before kissing me on the cheek. "But if you don't mind, I'd like to return to my slumber. Tomorrow is our last day of work this week and the worst day for something to go wrong."

"Indeed" I concur. "Ill join you shortly, whatever our foal thinks, I need sleep as well." With that he bids me goodnight and heads back down the hall to our room.

I finish the rest of my water with one swallow and set it in the sink before walking back to my bed and laying down where for once I am able to sleep for the rest of the night.

The next day I wake up feeling groggy but all in all, more rested than usual. I turn my head to the side and see that StarDance has already gotten up. It has always irritated me that I could never get up without waking him, yet he can leave and I would never know. I get out of my bed and shuffle down the hall and back into the kitchen where StarDance is waiting for me, a spatula in the grasp of his wing.

"Good morning, Sherbet." He says to me as he sticks his spatula into the pan on the stove and flips a pancake from inside. Im not really of the perceptive type, but its rare that I miss something like the smell of pancakes.

My mouth begins watering as I reply. "Good morning, honey." I stop in my tracks. Neither of us has ever called the other a nickname like that before, and I just did without even thinking about it. I look at him to see how he would react to it to find out that it hadn't even slowed him down a tad.

"You know, Honey does have a certain ring to it..." He glances at me with a grin on his face. I blush and return with a slightly embarrassed smile. "You know Dear, I think I'll keep that name."

I sit down at the table, still blushing hard. I'm just glad he didn't have a problem with the nickname, quite the contrary actually. He seems even more chipper than he was before hand as he places a plate in front of me topped with three of the thickest pancakes I have ever seen.

"You do realize I'm not completely helpless right? You have been insisting on doing everything for me and going the extra mile as well." I'm not complaining, but I ask out of legitimate curiosity and to poke some fun at his enthusiasm.

"Yes, I know you can handle yourself." He tells me. "But you're the one who decided that mentioning you were in heat was not important and you now have our foal inside of you because of it." I see him smirk from across the room.

"Could you have stooped any lower than you just did?" I ask him with fake coolness in my voice.

"Probably not." He chuckles as he walks over to me and smooches me on the forehead before he sits down on the other side of the table with his own pancakes.

Realizing that I had not touched my own pancakes, I began stuffing them into my mouth like my life depended on it. If there was one thing he could make, it was breakfast food. Be it pancakes, waffles, homemade oatmeal, whatever it was he could create it in the best way possible. Or so I think.

Once we finish our meals we clean up our dishes and head off toward the shower. We shower together because without magic, I cannot cleanse myself properly without the use of my impaired magic. Although his hooves are a little more rough than magic, it gives me good sensations like receiving a back rub. Occasionally he spends extra time rubbing my clit which always gets me to moan for him.

Unfortunately, I slept in a little bit later than I had anticipated, so we turn off the shower and I gingerly shake myself free of some of the water in my soaked fur. Star grabs the blow dryer and proceeds to dry me off first, following with himself.

After we are all dried off and I have spent the time to style my mane, we head off down the road toward our shop, Frozen Delights. When we get there we go through our usual routine of flipping the sign in the window to open and bringing out all of the cream, sugar and other supplies for making everything from shakes to ice creams. It doesn't take long for our first costumers to come in and start off our constant cycle of patrons. Our day is fairly generic until a little after lunch time when a mare comes in with a foal of her own.

"Now lemon, we cant come here every day, this is your last time this week. I know it tastes good, but its bad for you if you eat too much of it." The mare tells her little filly.

"Is that why she is so fat mommy?" The filly asks and points at me to the horror of her mother.

"Im so sorry." The mare apologizes to me. I do my best to resist a laugh.

"Its alright." I say letting a smile slip. "What can I get for you two today?"

The day continues from that point on without much amusement until the younger foals get out of school and head over to our parlor for a cold treat. Their antics never get old for me, but perhaps its different for Star since he is the one that they are always pestering.

"Where are your feathers?" Asks one of the colts.

"Why are your ears so fluffy?" Asks a filly.

"Why are you so weird?" Asks another.

He isn't caught off guard by the questions being that he receives them every school day. He Gives one of the foals their ordered ice cream and responds: "No matter how much I'd like to answer your questions, Sherbet needs my help here." He proceeds to give me a look that reads "please help me" as the foals continue to bombard him with questions.

"He's right my little ponies, I need his helping hoof right now. Maybe another time." I tell them, causing them all to groan and disperse into their different friend groups.

"Thanks for saving me." He whispers to me.

I laugh. "Your only off the hook until I have our foal."

"Better than nothing I suppose." He replies with a smirk of his own.

Evening approaches quickly and with that, closing time. We pack our perishables back into the freezer and close up for the night. The weekend has just started and it is time to relax.

"Do we have any plans over the weekend?" Star asks me.

"I don't have any, why do you ask?" I inquire.

"Well my friends have a meeting every Saturday and I have not been to one for a while. It would be nice to go again."

"In that case, enjoy yourself." I have never met his friends before, but I can understand why he would want to see them again since he has been spending all of his time with me.

"Would you like to meet them?" He asks, catching me off guard.

"Really, you want me to meet your friends?" I didn't even mean to say that, but my mouth decided to mimic my thoughts.

"That and for them to meet you." He replies. "I think they deserve an explanation as to why they haven't seen me in a while. But don't worry, they can be formal when they have to." He pauses. "I hope." I roll my eyes, but I cant deny it. I am excited.
