The Mutant with Two Abilities
Prologue- A Mutant named Jacob
New York City, the Big Apple. Its a city where dreams come true. The buildings were as tall as skyscrapers, the streets were surrounded by so many cars it was almost like some kind of professional racing circuit, and trash was practically everywhere that even the most cleanest person would be sick to stand in it.
"Beat it, kid!" A vendor tossed out a young looking boy on the streets. His very combed back hair getting sullied as he landed and over his eyes. Said kid groaned as he fixed his hair by licking his hand and pulling it back.
"I just wanted some bread, for fucks sake." The boy grumbled getting up and walking away,
".. Jerk..."
This is Jacob Manzer, he seems like your ordinary teenager. He's no teenager though. You might be wondering why he looks so young for his age? He is a mutant, a human born with a genetic trait called an X-gene which gives said person the ability to naturally develop superhuman powers and abilities. You might know some very famous mutants. Professor X, a genius with the power of the mind who is confined to a wheelchair and is the mentor to a team of mutant super-heroes working for equality among mutants and humans called the X-Men. Wolverine, the man with the claws, a healing factor, and is the best at what he does. And what he does is not pretty. Magneto, the master of magnetism and the leader of the Brotherhood of Mutants who also want the mutants to be better treated, but believes mutants should be the dominant species. You might think that Professor X and Magneto would be fierce enemies, they may be on opposite sides but they are also old friends. Friends for a long time but their goals drove them to opposite sides of the same goal. But what of Mr. Manzer, why are we focusing on him? Well, he's a very unique mutant, due to having been born with two abilities, three if you count him being very young for a twenty something year old. Jacob has the ability to copy any super powered being abilities and powers just by observing them in action, he also has the ability to sway other's minds to do whatever he wants. These powers sound over powered, though there's a catch. His copy ability is limited to one use per day, if he uses it any more he'll tire himself out. The mind control doesn't work on very smart people or extremely dumb people. Though he doesn't use that ability very often as he feels unethical using it.
Jacob Manzer walked the streets of New York City with his hands in the hoodie pockets grumbling. The hoodie was light green looking. The day had not been good. He'd been fired from his job at the shoe fixing store, harassed by some anti-mutant protesters, and just now got tossed out of a store when he just wanted some bread because apparently they didn't serve mutants.
"Grrr. Just swell. All I wanted was some bread, but apparently they don't serve mutants. I swear its like the prejudices just get worse and worse each and every day."
He walked by some ranting anti-mutant man with a sign yelling protests. The man was clearly dirty as his clothing was unbelievably filthy and smelled like garbage. Jacob also could have sworn he saw some rats circle around him. His sign read, 'Mutant Scum, is unacceptable for this bum!'.
"The mutants are a plague on mankind! The brotherhood and X-Men cause more damage to our city and cost several lives! Its time the government blow them sky-high!!" The protester ranted as his face was so red with anger he almost looked like a tomato, and steam poured out of his ears.
"Hey, wanna shout a little louder? Your gonna get complaints from the Home for Deaf People." Jacob snarked at the man.
"Oh yeah and what business do you..." The protester stopped mid-sentence as he noticed Jacob's angry look,
"Wait a minute. Your one of them mutant freaks! I saw you last week doing your crazy abilities and shit!"
"Yeah, I am. What's it too ya?" Jacob glared him down.
His intimidating look couple by the fact that he was taller than the protester, he got the hint and pissed off.
"Guess it was nothing." Jacob joked to himself,
"... I'm talking to myself again aren't I?"
He rolled his eyes as he went home to his apartment.
It was pretty messy as he hadn't cleaned it up in a while. It was pretty small as most of the everyday house rooms were cramped together. The living room was right in the middle of everything with a table and television on a desk stand, the kitchen was too the right with one fridge, stove, and dish washer. The bathroom was to the left and it stunk like shit considering the fact that no matter how many times he cleaned it up it always ends up dirtier. The bedroom was the best part as it was the place Jacob mostly stayed in.
"... Quicksilver's speed!" He declared as a glowing shape of Quicksilver, the mutant son of Magneto with the ability of super speed, surrounded him as ran around his apartment cleaning it up in about three seconds.
Jacob panted as he finished his house cleaning,
"Damn. That always tuckers me out."
He practically stumbled all the way to his bedroom
"Well, tomorrow's another day. Hopefully it'll be better.... or by my luck even shittier. Either could happen." He shrugged to himself,
"And here I am talking to myself again."
Jacob sighed as he closed his eyes hoping tomorrow would be better.
Jacob woke up with a jolt as the sound of destruction was heard outside. He rushed to the window and opened the shades as he saw.. The X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants fighting each other again. The screams of people filled the streets, cars were being flung into buildings, mass hysteria!! People were getting killed left and right as police sirens and helicopter whirls were also heard. It was just absolute chaos down there.
"Damn. It's too early for this." Jacob went clearly surprised and shocked by all this happening.
He rushed to his closet and got out his alter ego costume, Copy Control. It was a sore to look at. It was very multi-colored as none of the colors matched. Black, orange, and white were the colors that stuck out the most. They were mostly in patterns that Jacob didn't even recognize and it smelled like sweat. Jacob sewed it himself, which is probably why he got fired. He probably would have asked another person to sew a better costume if he wasn't so afraid that the moment he stepped in to ask the sewer would scream bloody murder and call the cops on him. Jacob struggled to get the costume on as it had shrunk a bit considerably as it was half his size at this point as he fell down on the ground trying to get the leg parts on and jumped a bit trying to get the foot part on as he tumbled out the door, down the stairs and out the door to the battle. Where he almost got hit by one of Toad's slime attacks as he tumbled out of the way. Fortunately he was too distracted with battling the X-Men to notice Jacob.
"I don't think those telescope goggles of his don't work if he didn't notice me. But to me, that's a blessing...... Why do I keep talking to myself?" Jacob wondered every so confused.
He quickly got to this feet as he saw the destruction up close. Now he could see fires on most of the buildings, things being flung all over the place, rubble falling, yeah this was a disaster if ever he saw one. Jacob then saw a woman protecting her child from falling rubble as Jacob quickly rushed over and pushed them out of the way before they could get killed. The woman and child looked at Jacob with relieved looks.
"Thank you so much." The mother gasped for breath.
"No problem, get to safety and away from here as fast as possible, quickly!" Jacob told them as they immediately did so.
Jacob panted as he quickly looked ahead to see both the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants fighting each other. Jacob immediately noticed Wolverine, the only bad ass member in his opinion, had his claws of adamantium steel as he slashed at Sabretooth who had his own claws as they fought each other like a pack of wild animals. Each slashing one part of them occasionally though not puncturing any organs, though if they did their healing factors would fix them right up.
It was pure madness everywhere he looked. At the center of it all were Professor X and Magneto.
"So here we are again." Magneto went as he floated in the air only a few feet away from his rival,
"Humans dying, destruction everywhere, just like all the other times."
"Yes. Indeed." X nodded as they continued to stare at each other.
"But today will be different." Magneto smiled as he took out a new weapon.
It was very long as the trigger and hole where the attack from the weapon would go out of were practically six meters apart. It was also very silver and clean with a lot of functions and gizmos around the weapon that Jacob couldn't recognize.
"With this new weapon I developed. These battles will finally come to an end. Do not fret, my friend, for it will be over soon." Magneto smiled solemnly as he pressed the buttons on it as the weapon began to charge up.
Jacob's eyes flared open as without thinking he quickly rushed towards the two as fast as he could run.
"Professor, get out of the way!!!" He shouted.
"Huh?!" The professor went looking at Jacob as he jumped in front of them as the weapon fired hitting Jacob hard.
He was sent to the ground as he collided with the ground leaving a crack on the ground as he felt his skin boiling and burning. Steam was literally coming off of him as he screamed in absolute agony. It was like being burned alive in a concentration camp, only this one seemed even worse. Jacob felt like he was going to die as due to the sheer scope of it all he passed out.
"Hey Twilight, what do you think it is?" Somepony whispered.
Jacob groaned as he heard the sounds.. voices? Talking to each other.
"I don't know. But it seems new."
"It could be dangerous"
"Ha ha ha ha. Never heard that one before." Jacob weakly cracked.
"It talks!!"
"Of course I can talk its sort of a natural." Jacob started as his vision started to clear, he realized that he was staring at two horses.
One was clearly a bit pink with a purplish mane,with a horn and wings. The other horse had blue skin and a rainbow colored mane and tail.
Jacob stared at the two horses with an unbelievable amount of questions piling up in his head.
"I'm in hell aren't I?" He asked the first question that popped into his mind.
