Keith just got back from his month long work cycle as he had been working on at the slope as he knew Aegis wasn't a fan of how long he works... He was worried each time he came back she might have met a different man or moved away not being able to take it as he soon sat on the couch awaiting to what he would find at home..
Aegis averts her gaze towards the door once she hears someone coming in. Nobody else had the keys so she figured it must be Keith, finally! "Oh, you're finally home." She says with a not so excited voice as she stands up to meet him. While she hasn't really been with another man... yet. The thought of leaving Keith has run through her mind a few times. "I made you dinner but I wasn't sure when you would be arriving, only that it would be today, so it's in the fridge... not that you care." She half states half exclamatives, especially the last bit.
He sighed as he went to Aegis and hugged her tightly but not enough to hurt her. "Of course I care.. You made it." He said giving her a warm smile before giving her a kiss on the head as he walked to the fridge and pulled the said dinner out which was steak and le mash potatoes as he put it in the microwave. "So... How was the month been that I was gone? anything exciting?"
Aegis doesn't express much emotion from said hug, merely lets it pass. At his query, she offers a roll of her eyes. "Oh you know, the same as always. Days spent alone trying to find something to occupy my time with, nights spent crying on a pillow from feeling lonely. Same ol' same 'ol." She says with a sarcastic tone. Though after a moment of silence, she breaks it, her voice sounding more desperate and on the verge of tears. "Look I know work keeps you busy a lot by does it have to be months after months without us seeing each other? Every day you are away I miss you, every day you are away I feel the love I once felt for you shrink, more and more! And yet you keep going, why!? Don't you care about me, my
feelings!?" She tries, but tears eventually well up in her eyes.
Keith quickly goes to her as he hugs her tightly while looking into her eyes as he shows deep compassion with in his tired eyes. "Of course I care... I just don't want us to end poor and in dept and on the streets..." He said while having sad eyes. "Were barely making ends meet with me working... the economy is rising and a lot of people are losing their homes and dying of sickness.." He said while hugging her more tightly as he only shed 3 tears..
This time, Aegis returns the hug. She squeezes tightly, feeling the days she spent home alone slowly catching up to her and making her squeeze ever tighter as time passes. "I know! It's just... there has to be another way! We'll get through this. I can't bear having to spend another month alone, doing nothing but crying and wishing you were by my side..." Her voice trails off, those tears finally catching up as well, and flowing down her face, which was actually stuck firmly to Keith's chest, so each of them would stain his upper clothing.
Keith thinks for a moment in deep thought. "There isn't anything else we can do... any other job wouldn't sustain us... even if we lived in a smaller house or apartment..." He said not minding the tears while looking into her eyes. "Unless you can get a really high paying job..."
Aegis merely nods, like she has many times before, when they had they same discussion. She wants to think it is all a lie, that things will work out in the end... but this isn't any kind of fantasy is it? She breaks the hug finally, staring into his eyes for a moment before turning away and heading to their bedroom, her head low. "I'll wait for you in bed. At least I can have some solace sleeping in your embrace before waking up alone again tomorrow." With those last words, she disappears from view.
Keith nodded as he soon looked around the house noticing the changes as he sighed while going to the bathroom while taking a quick shower in deep thought before finishing and only getting half dressed as he soon went into their bedroom which it wasn't the best nor the worst as he laid down in bed wrapping his arms around her in a loving embrace knowing he'll just leave again tomorrow.
She hears him entering the room after a few minutes pass. She hears him approaching, and laying on the bed alongside her, under the sheets. She feels as he embraces her, sharing his bodily heat and his affection with her. And she returns said embrace, wrapping her arms around him and resting her head against his neck. It's hard to feel happy knowing he will be gone again tomorrow, but at least she has today, and right now to enjoy, however short this time might be. "Goodnight." She says in low whimpers, holding back yet another set of tears from falling.
He stayed quiet for a moment before responding. "G-Goodnight love..." He said a bit pained as he soon fell asleep while holding her close as possible not wanting to leave her again for a long time but he would have to anyway...
Aegis' merely closes her eyes tries to get some sleep. It proves difficult, considering she wants to spend as much time as possible with her love. But eventually, she finds herself drifting off, sleep overtaking her senses completely, and darkness surrounding her conscience...
Aegis' eyes shot open, slightly wild eyes slowly returning to normal. What's that strange feeling? It's dark, and she is still on a bed that's for sure. She also feels the warmness of her lover close. Is she dreaming? Isn't he supposed to have left already? Regardless, she embraces him one more time, only... when she tries to rub his back with her fingers, she feels... no fingers. What? Another try and sure enough, she doesn't feel the anymore. Is she going nuts? Certainly she didn't lose her fingers during the night, that would be insane. She ignores it for now, thinking it's all product of her imagination, and prefers to just enjoy her time with her lover. Perhaps the time has not come for him to leave, that should be it. And she intends to enjoy every last second she has.
A few hours after Aegis' went back to sleep Keith woke up as he gasped awake hearing feminine voice of sort as he looked around to see a pony next to him. (I don't know what they look like since I read your info and all...) As he soon fell on the floor with a thud as someone or somepony started to get up from the living room as he remembered locking everything In the house.. but... their bedroom. it was off.. it didn't have the same look at all. All their photos gone, certificates, keys. everything. even the arrangement of the room was different... But that wasn't the only thing. He felt wrong.
Just as a gasp is heard, Aegis wakes up in a hurry, startled even. Something is definitely off. She is sure she heard it coming from right next to her, where Keith should be... but it has been a feminine voice. D-Did he bring another woman home!? At the thought, Aegis immediately rises from the bed, barely able to see clearly due to drowsiness still being present in her body, and the dark lighting of the room. "Hun?" She asks, and is again startled, when a rather masculine voice sounds. It most definitely came from her, that much is obvious. "W-What is going on? Why do I sound like this!?" Panic slowly starts to settle, and for a moment she forgets her surroundings completely.
Soon a pony with a duster walked into the room as he sighed looking at both Keith and Aegis'. "I'm guessing you two aren't from here..." He said with a forest accent. Soon Keith tried standing up and failing as her wings flailed for a moment thinking they were flying as they spasmed before stopping as she soon just laid on her back feeling a pain in her stomach as if she'd been punched. "Ahhh... screw you world.." She said as the Pony just shook his head in a disappointment. "What about you Sir?" He said speaking to Aegis'...
"S-Sir?" Aegis asks incredulously when she notices the stranger is talking to her. True enough, she now had the voice of a male, and now that this strange pony turned on the lights, Aegis could look at the spot Keith should be, and instead sees another pony, female it looks like. Did they just... no, that's impossible!
With fear in her heart, Aegis looks down, and confirming her suspicions, however crazy they might sound, she too is now a pony it looks like. "W-Where's my chest!? A-And..." Her head moves between her legs, eyes scanning until they find a rather peculiar looking thing. Her head returns, but there's a slight blush in her cheeks. "Why do I have a..." She dares not finish the question, but it's obvious she is now a he. Aegis' gaze averts to the stranger carrying a duster, tilting his head slightly. "Where are we? Just what is going on here?" That masculine voice will take some time to get used to, for sure.
"You're in the middle of the Everfree Forest Sir, Find you and your fiancé right there. Probably would of died. looks to like their carrying a small passenger inside them as well." He said gesturing to the lump in Keith's stomach. "You two were both passed out by a waterfall and if you would of stayed out there longer you could of got killed by timberwolves or frozen by a cockatrice." He said while sitting down.
"Wait, are you saying Keith is... pregnant...?" He is unsure of what to make of the situation, and confusion is filling his head almost entirely. That is until... "Oh my gosh, Keith!" Realization strikes, and Aegis soon rushes to the mare that now should be Keith's side. "Hun, you alright?" He questions, placing both his hooves on top of his lover and searching for signs of life, or at least a sign that she is alright. That's right... he has hooves now... strange, and will take some getting used to. But for now, Keith is more important.
Soon Keith quickly jumped to life as she wrapped her hooves around Aegis' tightly as she cried from her nightmare of her losing the foal inside her.. all the memories of the night before then now rushed to her as she looked around quick at Aegis'. "Hun, is that you...?" she said softly but confused at that. The stallion left a bit go to leave the two in privacy.
Aegis' instinct is to return the hug, forelegs wrapping around Keith and keeping her close. "Ssshh. It's okay hun, I'm here, and I'm okay. And so are you." Wow, where did that come from? He certainly wasn't that... motherly, for lack of a better word, when he was human. Are these pony instincts messing with him!? Regardless, he soon breaks the hug, placing kisses all over the mare now Keith's face.
His eyes can't help but gaze towards Keith's belly. Is that baby for real? "Keith, are you really...? You can't be pregnant! When did this all happen!? I certainly wasn't pregnant when I was human, and now you are!? And who's the father!?" So many questions assault his mind. And it's likely Keith doesn't know the answer as well, but panic overwhelm Aegis' senses for a few moments. Or perhaps a little longer than that.
She quickly shushes him to calm down as she tries to remember only getting pony memories and one of her and him discussing of having a child and them doing the deed as she shook her head for a moment before looking at Aegis, "You're the father hun." She said softly as she nuzzled him on instinct to try to comfort him. Why was she so... calm? She thought to herself not minding that only wanting to calm him down..
"Rosy, hun, please. I don't..." He certainly does not know where that nickname came from. "Something as important as the conception of my own child, and I don't ever remember it?" He questions again, placing a hoof on his head for a moment, trying to remember something, but to no avail. "I-I mean, I should at least remember something! It's important to me, and yet...!" It's no use. His brain starts to hurt even, from the effort being placed into thinking. Unfortunately, nothing comes to mind.
And yet, here he is. A once female now male, with a pregnant lover, apparently fruits of their passion for one another, and he has no memory of it. And he's the father? But she- he- doesn't even know how this... thing works! An obvious reference to said male appendages between his hind legs. Why can't the answers fall down from the sky for once!?
She blushed at the name as she tried understanding Aegis' couldn't remember anything but it all seemed a blur to her as she tried thinking only to get a pain. "I... What did we even do last night?!" She said as her brain went memory dead for a few moments as she couldn't remember anything from when they were human as she was going through a amnesia type phase as it drifted in and out. "Wait.. what is my name?!" She said looking at Aegis' as if for answers. How could she forget her damned name?! How couldn't she remember anything?! Whats even wrong anymore..?
Aegis' memory flashes in front of his very eyes. He places a hoof on his head as a small stream of memories invade his mind. But said memories did not come without a cost. He felt a tingle in his mind, and most likely other memories disappeared, as well. Still, he holds Rose with both his hooves now, trying to help her up and keep her balance. "Rosy, don't be ridiculous, you're starting to scare me. Most importantly, are you feeling okay, otherwise we need to take you to the hospital. You're too important to me. You two are too important to me." He mentions their unborn foal as if he knew about it all along. Just what's happening to their minds?
Keith soon got her memory back... but with missing parts. She couldn't remember her past family or when she was born as new ones came with them. "I... Think I need to go to the hospital Hun.." She said getting wearily by her surroundings at the impending question of their memory situation, Would they forget everything?! She soon started to hyperventilate as she wrapped her hooves around Aegis as tightly as possible which wasn't really tight at that...
Aegis ignores everything around him. Everything but his wife in need. And to hay with the thoughts trying to invade his mind; he can settle them later. "Th-The hospital!? Of course!" With the strength he didn't know he had, he lifts Rose, his wife, and with a bit of effort from his part, manages to place her firmly on his back, her head resting on the back of his neck. With that set, he storms out of the house, running past whoever it was that rescued them and into the unknown forest.
Aegis wasn't exactly in the best condition, but he didn't care, he ignored all the pain in his body, all for his beloved. He picks a random directly, and begins sprinting, hoping to find a break in all this vegetation and reach a town of sorts, where he can get help. "Hold on hun, we'll be there soon." He tries to comfort Rose. Perhaps he should have asked the old pony in the cottage which way was the town... but it was too late now, recklessness got the best of him.
He soon came across a town as Rose was passed out on his back as the first thing he saw when they entered was a hospital which was labeled, 'Postville Hospital\ER.'
And that is exactly where Aegis rushes towards. He dodges the several ponies on his way there, who are startled and look towards him when he passes them hurriedly. Soon enough he is at his target, and slamming the doors open (After making sure nopony was close to it) he calls out for help. "Please! My wife needs immediate attention! She's dying!" Okay, maybe she's not really dying, he can't say for sure; but those are trigger words to get help as fast as possible.
Which is true, as just a few moments pass and a group of the hospital staff rushes to his side, lifting Rose from his back and placing her on a temporary transport bed as they rush her to the ER, Aegis following them, holding his wife's hoof tightly with his own. Please let her be safe, his mind keeps repeating to himself.
the doctors soon rushed her to a room as they kept Aegis' outside as they figured what was wrong as a few minutes later one doctor came out. "Mr. Aegis', we are quite afraid your wife is dying from multiple blood clots in her body." He said looking at the paper. "Immediate action is surgery but the foal has a chance of dying during said surgery.." he said having a grim dark face. "But it's 70 percent chance of it surviving. What is your plan of action?"
"W-What!?" He asks incredulously. "Just- Do something! Save her! They are my everything! Please!" He pleads to the doctor. How could that all happen? He was happy, they were happy. Everything was foggy in his mind, but he is sure nothing that was happening right now made sense. "Please...!" He pleads one more time. Without his wife, his child; his life meant nothing to him.
The doctor nodded as they soon went to work quickly in the room as they continued. 2 days soon passed as a doctor finally came out with a smile on his face as it showed something obviously good happened. "Its a success Aegis'. Without casualty."
Those two days have been a pain to Aegis. He never left the hospital, not because he had nowhere to go, but because if he lost his family, there would be no reason to live anymore. Every second spent on that chair was a mind numbing agony, the unicorn leaving only for the bathroom, but not for anything else, not even eating. When the doctor finally returns to him, and gives him the good news, he rushes to that lovely sight of a pony. "Thank you!" He is in tears, but he doesn't care that many others are staring at him. His family is safe, and that is all that matters. "Can... Can I see them?"
The doctor nodded. "If course. She was actually requesting you to come in. But please be careful. She's on how pain meds to help alright?" He said while leading him into a room with a heavily bandaged Rose as she just smiled at him weakly from her dazed state of pain.
Aegis wastes no time in running (With moderation) towards the room his wife had been transported to for vigilance. "Rosy!" He calls out when he sees his wife in bed, smiling weakly at him. Like any husband that has sense in their head, he rushes to her side, planting nuzzles and kisses upon her neck, cheek and everything he can reach. "How are you feeling hun?" He asks after his affection assault.
Rose smiled lightly as she couldn't help but giggle. "Pretty bad but I feel better.. And our foal is fine hun.." She said as She went into a coughing fit as she sighed smiling as she had a few tubes hooked up to her legs. The doctor awaited outside waiting patiently. "Hmm.."
"Sshh hun. Don't push your body too hard." He comforts her, gently stroking her head and mane in a loving manner. He nuzzles her one more time, wanting to feel her close, and oh boy does it feel good now that she is okay and he doesn't have to sit on that blasted chair in the waiting room anymore. "Did they tell you what happened to you? I'm still in the blind here..." He asks when he separates from his own show of affection.
She nodded weakly. "I had multiple blood clots blocking blood to my heart, brain and limbs.. And halfway through they had to stop on one and clear a different one as our foal couldn't breath from it.. " She said in a sad tone. "But now are foal is right and safe!" She said happily but a little 'hoarse.'
"Wow that's... I don't even know what to say." He remains silent for a moment, though always keeping close to Rose, his beloved. "Just... how did all of this happen... I don't remember anything recent that happened prior to waking up in that strange cabin in the woods, we both did, the only difference being that you, well, you know..." He says, mentioned the hospital and all that had happened to that point. Still, he is thankful that Rose is well.
Rose nodded as she hugged him lightly. "I barely remember anything before waking up there.. But the memories clash.." She nuzzled him quite content. Soon a doctor with a Brown coat and a bow tie came in. "Aegis'? Rose?" He said looking around. Rose nodded as she looked at Aegis'. "Hmm.. I came cause you two are emitting weird energy.."
