The Rejected Soldier

The war has been going on for moons now. Applejack has counted the days since King Sombra began his attack on the Crystal Empire and took it over in less than a day. His magic is powerful and Applejack can't help but wonder whether all of this could have been avoided by the act of a small group of ponies bound together by a force stronger than his. Her sister, Apple Bloom, has joined the battle and Applejack tried to go with her, but because of her failing eye sight from a genetic problem, she was denied. Now she and her brother Big Macintosh are working on the farm, packaging non-perishable foods for the front lines.
Applejack worries about her sister every day. She learned that a few months ago, a Pegasus General named Rainbow Dash had been the victim of a surprise attack and lost her left wing entirely.
Applejack is sick of packing food. She is sick of not being able to fight for Equestria.
So when the war comes to her, will she be ready?
