Prologue: Welcome to the Velvet room
A hero could be born. A hero could be trained. Most heroes fight for glory and fame. Some fight for what is right. There are a few who didn't want this life but, were forced.
What the fuck had I got myself into? I remebered being inside my parent's car, we were going to our new home. It was a long trip so, I thought I could spare a few minutes of sleep but, that turned out to be a big mistake. I heard someone telling me to wake up and I thought it was probably my mom. I slowly opened my eyes and found myself in a completely different car. It looked like a limousine from the inside and there was a small bar at the right. Everything inside seems to mostly blue and other colors that were similar to it. In front of me was a small rounded table covered in a blue cloth that nearly touched the ground. I believed that there was a blueish glow coming off the walls. I had soon discovered that I wasn't alone. There was a man on the other side of the table and he looked-how do I say-bizarre. He wore a black business suit and had white gloves covering his boney hands. What made him more creepier was that he had this odd smile on his face with his eyes that look like they would pop out at any moment. Plus his nose reminds me of Pinocchio. There was a girl that was on the side. She wore a blue sweater with a blue cap and blue shoes. She had a thick book on her lap but, the mose strangest thing about her was her eyes. Her irises were completely yellow like that from a nightmare.
I started to panic that these people must have kidnapped me and were planning to kill me. The creepy man raised his hand and spoke in a tone that sounded like he was wise,"Please, do not fret. You are not in any danger as of yet.", I was a bit skeptical about trusting this guy but, something in my mind was telling me that I should trust him. I calmed down and let go of my grip on the couch I didn't realized doing. I manage to calm down a little and the man had spoke again,"It seems you have quite an intriguing destiny ahead of you.",He then let out a chuckle. It was kind of creepy and I didn't get what he meant by my destiny but, I decided not to ask and listen to him. I don't want to provoke anyone right now,"My name is Igor... I am delighted to make your acquaintance.", He held out his hand as if he wanted a handshake. I don't usually shake hands with anyone I hust met but, I shoke his hand anyway. His hand was very cold as I shivered a bit from touching it. The man let go of the hand shake and so did I as well,"You are probably wondering where you are, am I correct?", I was a bot uncomfortable being near him from that time but, I nodded. The man chuckled again and told me where I was, "You are in the velvet room. This a place that is between reality and dreams. Only a certain few are allowed to enter this place. And it seems that you are one of them.", I had to gulp a little bit of saliva as I was starting to get nervous on where this was going.
I guessed Igor saw that I was nervous since he had tried to calm me down, "Do not worry my friend, you were meant to be sent here. Now I must ask you a question my friend.", Igor had twirled his hand counterclockwise and a deck of cards had appeared out of thin air. They were tarot cards, "Do you believe in fortune telling?", I shook my head to show him I didn't believe in that stuff. Igor had chuckled a bit at my answer, "We shall see."
Igor shuffled the deck and pulled out three cards and placed them facing down on the table, "Let us see what the future has in store for you.", Igor had snapped his fingers and one of the cards flipped showing a tower being striked by lightening and two people. Igor had frown as if he saw something that disappointed him,"Hmm. The tower in the upright position, this is not a good sign. There will be a dramatic change that will not only affect you but, possibly mankind as a whole. It will come unexpected and there is sadly on way out or a way to stop it. I am not quite sure what will be coming but, I do know that you will have to face it and that thia will be the worse catastrophe your world had seen before. This could even be the end of your world.", I never liked the sound of that. I wonderedd just what was going to happen that was going to destroy the world "Let us see what the next card has to tell the future beyond that.", Igor snapped his finger once again and another card flipped over. I had never expected to see this in my whole life, it was a skull.
Igor's frown Still didn't change but, he looked like as if he was intrigued by all of this, "Death in the upright position. Death represents beginning and endings. It seems that there will be people that will meet thier end if you choose not to act. If you do, there is a chance you could save them. ", Igor told me
"Hm... It seems that there is some kind of dark entity will be waiting for you and your friends several moons from now. And no matter how strong you and your friends bonds are, they will all have to face the darkness alone.", Igor had waved his hand over the table and the cards disappeared. Igor than looked at me with that same creepy smile, "Be careful my friend. For if you fail to stop this threat, your future and this world will forever be lost.", I couldn't believe what I just heard. An unpleasant future? A dangerous entity? How the hell am I going to do this on my own!?
I realized about that thought and asked Igor about it,"But, how am I going to do this on my own?", Igor only chuckled at my question as if I asked a stupid question.
When he stopped, he had answered my question,"You will not be alone my friend. My job is to guide and provide assistance to ensure that doesn't happen.", I thought that he was finally done but, I was wrong, "I'm sorry but, It seems that I neglected to introduce my assistant to you.", Igor turned his head so he was looking at the girl,"This is Elizabeth. She is a resident of this place, like myself.", So Elizabeth is the girl's name.
Elizabeth turn her head to get a good look at me before speaking,"My name is Elizabeth and I will be helping you on this journey. Something tells me that it will be interesting.", That was all she said as she returned to look at the book. She was odd to say the least. I turned and noticed that Igor was looking at me again.
"Before you leave, you will need to sign this contract.", A piece of paper had appeared on the blue table with a pen on the side. I had picked up the pen and looked at the paper. It felt like I was signing my soul to the devil himself but, against my better judgement, I signed the contract with my name. Elizabeth picked up paper and placed in
"We shall attend to the details another time. Until then, farewell...", After he had said that, my whole body got exhausted all of a sudden. I felt my eyes starting to close as I drifted back to sleep but, I manage to hear one more thing from Igor before passing out
"For you have arrived at your destination."
