Dreamer may have most ironic name in Ponyville. In spite of his moniker, the timid and tiny Earth Pony feels he has very little going for him, with every single one of his attempts to try and reach out to foals his age only miserably ending in repeated failure each and every time. And while there are a few select foals who actually do acknowledge his existence, they hardly help matters. Instead they only try their best at chipping away what little there is of his self-esteem every chance they get.

But that's all about to be turned on its head.

Everything changes for Dreamer when he ends up meeting a spunky, rainbow-haired Pegasus filly named Rainbow Dash, who’s visiting from out of town. Rainbow may be showy, she's definitely brash, and certainly smug, yet underneath all the attitude and bravado lies the heart of somepony much more compassionate: a warm-hearted, sweet girl with a surprisingly strong caring side.

It isn't long before the fantastic filly forms a unique friendship with Dreamer, despite the two ponies having little in common on the surface. With a bit of a push from his new friend, Dreamer's about to learn that he may be able to meet life head-on much more than he thought he previously could.
