Changing Time
The Escape From the Hive
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI got into another routine, sit, fly, eat, cry, sleep, repeat. It was a sad and boring routine, no John, no Luna, no pony. Only awful changelings. I had sent an S.O.S. out to John a few nights after I came to the hive. I hoped he truly loved me...because that was my only chance at escape.
After about a week, I had finally gotten used to my routine, and I was eating when I suddenly heard an echo in the currently empty cave.
"CANDY WHERE ARE YOU??!!!" I could tell it was John, I yelled back.
"JOHN COME TO THE CENTER!!!" I flew slowly to the center, but it was quicker than limping.
Once I got to the center I quickly saw John.
"JOHN!!!" I cried with joy.
"Candy!!" John limped to me as quickly as possible, and we hugged each other tightly. "Why haven't you left?? Can you not find anyway out?!"
"I know the way out, there's a barrier keeping me in. I can't deactivate it!" I cried.
"Hmm, I'll hide here for a couple days, I need a quiet spot to work." John smiled as I hugged him again.
After three days John finished, we were alone in the hive when he told me. He made a magic deactivation device, and he tested it on a spell that I had cast as Starburst. It worked on that spell, but now was the real test. He activated the device, and BAM! The entire barrier came down.
"We have five minutes, limp!!!" John and I limped out as quickly as possible, with two minutes to spare, we were at the entrance. I was about to leave with John when a changeling guard saw us! I had thought we were alone, but we obviously weren't. I hovered, grabbed John under his arms, and flew away quickly! My wings couldn't handle it, but it was fast enough for me to get out as the barrier went back up, trapping the guard inside. It could only be breached by my mom, or any changeling on the outside, so until my mom got back I was home free.
My bandaged wing throbbed as I crash landed with John, in front of the lab.
"Ow! Ugh...are you okay?" I asked John.
"Yea, we won't be able to fly for a while though, let's get inside." We limped in and sat down quickly.
"I can't go back to the orphanage...I barely escaped with my teleportation device." I teleported my stuff to the bare spot in the lab. "Is it okay if I stay here?"
"Of course." John smiled as he teleported everything into its proper spot.
"I think I have to go back into hiding until Luna takes care of my mom..." I wept on my newly set up bed. John came over and just patted me on the back, not saying another word.
