Changing Time

The first week of school was horrible! John was busy doing stuff, so I didn't see him all week! On the first day of school I sneezed right when class started thanks to my stupid cold! Every pony was scared of me after that, so I just sat by  the fence in the playground and cried as I looked at my picture of John and I at the gala. Every day was routine, scare every pony, go to lunch, look at my picture, and limp back inside to wait for school to finish. At the end of the week John finally came to the orphanage again, only to find me softly crying into my pillow.

"Are you alright?" he asked me. I looked up to see him, with tears blurring my vision.

"Luna sent me to school, to socialize with other ponies closer to my age." I sniffled, looking back a my pillow. "Every pony is scared of me because I sneezed on the first day thanks to a little head cold. On top of that, my dreams now deceive me, I have a good dream at night, only to wake up to a horrible day." I took out my picture from the gala and started to cry harder.

"Hey," John said in a calm voice, "it'll be okay. I know I'm not there all the time, but maybe this will help." He rolled a metal ball over to me. It had a small red button on it. "Press the button." John said. I pressed it, and the ball opened, revealing a doll, that looked exactly like John. "For when I'm not around." John said.

"Thank you." I smiled as I put the picture down, and hugged the doll tightly.

"It's no problem, and if you ever wanna skip school, I'm always available." John winked at me. I wanted to return the favor, I just didn't know how yet. As I opened my mouth to talk, John's ears perked up. "Along'sy my love." With that, he was off. It was night by the time he left, so all I did was hop into bed with my new doll after turning on the dream machine.

I woke up that morning, only to find myself hurt. I was in front of John, he watched as I looked at my bleeding bandaged wing, and then looking back at John as I instantly asked him, "What happened?"

"I don't know," John said, "I just saw you sleep walking through this..." John stopped there, he looked down at my back left hoof, and then at his own injured hoof. They were both blue. Suddenly, I turned a deep shade of blue all over. John took out something as I blacked out.

I woke up for a second to see John inject the blue poison into himself, and I blacked out again.

"JOHN!" I yelped with concern as I woke up.

"Yes?" John was back to normal, no longer the blue of the poison.

"But...but I saw you put the poison inside yourself." I said, drying my tears.

"I have my ways." John said, using his device to change into a stallion, who was the blue color of the poison. I couldn't help but giggle a bit.

The next day when I woke up, I got a brilliant idea. John had showed me his lab before, so I knew where to go to do this. I flew shakily to his lab, and changed into him.

I finished my little project after about an hour, and once I finished it I flew to Everfree to find John. As soon as I got there I found him, I rolled a metal ball over to him. I limped up behind him and told him to press the button on it. When he did, a little doll version of myself popped out.

He gasped and said, "Thank you so much!!" I smiled.

"Well," I started, "it WAS made by you." I winked as John suddenly looked concerned

"Wait, DID YOU CHANGE INTO ME, THAT'S DANGEROUS!!!" he took a breath, "It's okay, as long as you weren't me for too long." I opened my mouth to talk, but all that came out was a yelp of pain as I grabbed my chest, right next to my heart. My eyes widened as I felt a small pulse.

"F-f-feel..." I stammered. Once John did, he took me to a spot in the forest. I blacked out once we got there.

"Ugh...I seem to black out a lot don't I." I groaned as I woke up in my bunk at the orphanage, with John next to me. He watched me intently as I got my doll and packed up everything for school. He then said something I never thought he'd say.

"Can I go to school with you?"
