She felt her heart drop. It shattering like a precious crystal to pieces smaller than specks as the scene played out in front of her but she put on her widest of smiles, her automatic response to such a situation. It was, what? The 6th time this had happened to her? Many ponies... Oh, who was she kidding? Everypony had never heard about it, about her feelings. Sure, there were rumors about it. About her being lesbian, Bi or some other sexuality that, to them, was not 'natural' but no one actually knew this for truth.

Not even her the bestest of her best friends knew of her desperate situation. Especially them, seeing as most of them or in short, ALL of her closest friends she had been crushing on at one point or an other. But, even through her best efforts, they had found somepony else, somepony else to love. She couldn't blame them, she hadn't told them.

Her friends had often come to her, seeking help in arranging a date or something like that. Pinkie, was of course enthusiastic to help her friends love blossom. Sure it hurt when she saw that they were happy with somepony else being their love, their special somepony but the thing was... They were happy, she had made them happy, that was what her special talent was.

She had long accepted that she wouldn't be loved. That she would never start her own family. That? That she had accepted long ago. Accepting didn't dull the pain. Accepting didn't get rid of he feelings but she supposed if they were happy it was worth getting her heart broken.

That didn't stop the scorching flame in her heart from burning her every fibre. It didn't save her from the emptiness as she watched Rainbow Dash and Soarin kiss. She was happy for them. As she caught Dashie's eye and waved, she turned, walking back towards Sugarcube Corner to give them privacy. She had learned the hard way not to be pushy and about not intruding on others business.

She watched the sunset from upon the balcony, alone. She sighed and left as she saw the two lovebirds fly together as a silhouette in the sky. She slammed the door to her room, the echo reverberating in the now empty house. The Cakes had moved out recently, leaving the place to the party pony herself to handle.

She watched Gummy, her ever faithful companion, lick his eye in greeting. She waved to him half-heartedly before collapsing in a wreck on her bed. That was the last on the list, she didn't know if she really had feelings as strong as she thought they were or if she was desperate after what happened with the first pony she had ever really paid that sort of attention to. He had left her, never saying goodbye. A void of nothingness forming in her heart that day, it was something she never forgot over these past 5 years.

She had never felt the need to have a special somepony before him but once she had had a flavour of the toxic thing that is love she couldn't live without it. It's true what they say, you don't miss something you don't have.

Hot tears slid down her face as she burrows her head into the cupcake shaped pillow on her place of refugee. Tomorrow was another day, full of planning parties, baking and making others smile. She forced her eyes shut as she cried herself to sleep, the flames in her heart burning hotter than ever.

As she awoke, she was confused as to why she had opened her eyes. After pondering if it was her Pinkie Sense again because someone was watching her. The she heard a knock coming from the door to her room, that must have been why... Shame but she couldn't shake the feeling as she quickly sat up and got out to bed. She called out to the pony behind the door."Come in!"

The oak door creaked open and standing in the doorway was none other than Apple Bloom. Over the past 5 years Apple Bloom had matured greatly. She was technically of age now, having reached 16. It was the required age to work, drink alcohol and to drop out of school. Although ponies her age weren't normally considered Adults it was surprising to note how many ponies treated her like so.

"Heya Pinkie, ya kinda overslept today so ah opened up the store for ya, ya deserve the sleep! Workin so hard with everythin!" Apple Bloom waved at her, an apron on her as well as one of the twin chef hats Rarity had made for the both of them. Pinkie smiled, she was so lucky to have Apple Bloom as an assistant.

After the Cakes had left and Apple Bloom announced that she needed a job ponies practically lined up for her to work for her. Maybe it was because of charisma, her hard-working spirit or her determination. She had however declined all offers and instead decided that she wanted to help a Pinkie out in the bakery. Apple Bloom had said it was because she loved baking but Pinkie was sure it was something else as well.

"Thanks Bloomie,'you saved my life."

"You 'Kay Pinkie, you don't look so good."

Pinkie nodded frantically and walked up to her assistant, giving her a hug. She walked past and began to skip down the stairs, Apple Bloom following closely behind.

As Pinkie entered the kitchen, she donned the apron and chefs hat and got to work, catching up on the baking and planning she had missed. It was awfully quiet today, only a couple of dozen ponies including the loverbirds coming in.

As the bell that signified that somepony else had entered rang, Pinkie cheered and quickly ran to see who it was. She greeted them the usual way, not once opening her eyes to see who it was.

The figure giggled, the voice feminine and familiar. " Was that all really necessary Pinks?" Only one pony called her Pinks.

She gasped and squeed, hugging the mare tightly. "It's like a sister get together, first Bloomie then you? Of course Bloomie does work here and granted you see each other everyday because you live I the same house but those things aside, I can't believe you took the time off to see me!"

"Of course I took time off foal-sitting my own foals to see my big sister!" The mare smiled back, hugging even tighter than before.

" It's so good to see you Marble!"
