Luna's wishby FireFangChapterswhen you wish upon a star...Wings, horns, or fight'in spiritJust a normal day...Me, my wings, horn and Iwhen you wish upon a star...If I had known what my wish would do I don't think I would have wished it. But then again, I was having a bad day. I was plagued with nightmares of people screaming in fear and laughing at the same time. In what was normally my realm I had no control. I could do nothing when smoky black tendrils wrapped around me. I could do nothing when nightmare moon came back for revenge. I could do nothing as all the pony's in my dreams got swept away to another dimension one single blast. I could do nothing as I had one thought over and over. She is to powerful, I am to powerful. I woke from my fitful slumber and slowly trudged down the endless hallway with Identical doors thinking about my dream. That horrible nightmare only strengthened my resolve on how alicorn me is to powerful and uncertain to hold the power that I do. Celestia was already on her throne being the punctual sunbutt she is. People had even already started to meet and talk, an easy light feeling was the mood of the morning, however everyone turned stiff and unmoving when I entered the room. I immediately knew what they were thinking, and answered in response "it has been many moons since my transformation. Your worry is misplaced." I thought It was enough to soothe the worry's of all the pony folk. But I could've never been more wrong. "But you never raised the moon! What were we supposed to think?!" My first reaction was the naive assumption that the pony's were wrong. How could they be right? I went back to the events of last night, I was having... Daymares? eveningmares? I don't know. Then it struck me, I never raised the moon. Celestia did. Or, was at least supposed to. I'm about to ask her if the sun was up the whole night but her expression says it all. My eyes go wide with disbelief but I mask it and sit down to the side of celestia. It takes the better part of the morning to assure everyone that I am not turning into, *quote* "a hideous creature that will destroy equestria and stop at nothing" Yes. Very flattering imagery of me you just shoved in everyone's heads. Later in the day when not many people were in the castle, I took the opportunity to ask about the moon not rising. I leaned over and whispered in her ear. "Did the moon really not rise? I was sure that I heard a spell being cast." Celestia shudders and gives an answer that no one, not even me, zecora or even starswirl could have predicted. "sister, I have made a grave mistake. I have released three of the wishens." Wings, horns, or fight'in spirit" WISHENS?!" I yell aloud. (Thank the moons no one knows what wishens are) Dosn't stop sunbutt, she gives me one of her patented 'I'm annoyed at you but I still look wise and fabulous.' looks. I immediately cover my mouth with my hooves, but its to late. Everypony heard me. They were already discussing among themselves but I could still kind of hear bits and pieces. "Nightmare moon..." "since my farm dried up.." " ...princess can fix it.." I thought that last one was for me until I did a little searching and saw the lime-colored mare who was looking at sunbutt, like... like she fell from the sky with a stamp on her head that said 'Obey me and I make your dreams come true'. Oh well, there goes being their wonderful princess. A few hours later I'm in a room full of guards (who look like statues) that are being educated on all we know about wishens. "Each Wishen has the power to grant the most powerful wish anywhere from anyone. Basically If somepony really wishes something would happen, the Wishens would grant it." I butt in. "It doesn't sound bad right? Well, Wishens have what could be described as a cruel sense of humor. They will twist and bend your wish so greatly it could endanger ponys." At that mention all the guards rush out before Celestia can describe it, and we are left alone. It was getting late, So I went on the balcony and (with considerable effort) brought forth the night. I go to sleep after some tossing and turning, to an oddly dreamless sleep. I did however, have a weird feeling as if a part of me was being sucked away. When I woke up I thought nothing of the feeling until I looked into my mirror. "WHAT IN THE NAME OF CELESTIA???!!!" I was shocked to find that my horn had completely vanished. POOF! GONE! After obsessing over this for a few *coughhourscough* I realized that Sunbutt needed to see this. I stomped over to her room and got ready to let loose the monologue I had been practicing, but clestia beat me to it. "WHAT IN EQUESTRIA HAPPENED TO YOU DEAR SISTER??!!" "yes, yes. I know my horn is..." Again, interrupted. "YOUR HORN TOO?!" 'Yes, my horn too. Did I... Wait. Did you say horn TOO?" Celestia gave a slight nod of her horrified face. I suddenly was afraid to look, but I did anyway. MY WINGS WERE GONE!!!!! I started considering who, or what could have done this, when I saw the look on my sisters face. It wasn't horror, or sympathy. It was, confusion. I was about to ask her what was wrong, but she interrupted me again. I normally would be irritated, but I was to stunned. Celestia said one sentence and then I ran. " I'm sorry, do I know you?" Just a normal day...If I was given three words to describe my every day, they would be; Boring. Boring. BORING. Every day is the same, sit below my sister celestia (who I like to call 'sunbutt' when I'm angry) like a pet as she solves all the problems of equestria. It used to be entertaining watching all the pony's come and go. Some just to pay their respects to the ruling princesses, some came to look at me after my transformation back from nightmare moon, but most others only come to complain about their TINY. LITTLE. PATHETIC. LIVES! sorry, nightmare moon moment. Annnyway... What I'm saying is that everyday was exactly the same. Royal duties, same. Sitting next to sunbutt, same. basically everything, SAME! I can't even use my magic! Sure I can levitate stuff but that's kinda it. My sister says its so other ponys don't feel intimidated but I'm not a sure after a saw a royal guard use a spell to 'magic' a cake out of the air. Don't get me wrong, I love the royal life. But sometimes it can be.. How do you say it? Stifling. Sometimes though, I just wish I was a normal pony instead of an 'all powerful' alicorn. Fillys used to scream at the the mere SIGHT of me. And I fear that if I ask if they like me as a ruler, that they will say yes no matter what. Again, another reason to want to be a normal pony. I do favor those fast and daring pegasui. Me, my wings, horn and IAnother end to another BORING day. I sat next celestia all day and did absolutely nothing. The only thing remotely interesting today was when the Royal guard sat and slipped on his cake. ( I admit that was more than just remotely interesting.) but now it was time for me to raise the moon. I admit this was not the most easy of tasks, but after a while it became almost a second nature for me. I cast the spell and my horn lit up in a brilliant blue.. But then it flickered. Memories of nightmare moon enveloped my mind re awakening my fear. What if she comes back? What if I become her again? Will I bring more terror to these poor pony folk? I collapsed in tears sobbing my soul away. Celestia came to me with a sympathetic look on her face. And maybe a little pity, but that could have been the light. She smoothed my hair and spoke in a soothing voice saying comforting words " don't worry my sister, you have an incredible power and a huge responsibility to go with it. In no way, in no universe is this your fault." The words were encouraging but I did not listen "but *sniff* this is all my *bawl* fault! *pouring tears of sadness* "Luna," celestia started "go lay down and get some rest. It seems that you need it" I trudged to my room with my head low and my tail swinging sadly. In the background I could hear my sister mumbling to herself as she tried to raise the moon in my place." now I think that's right~~~~~~definitely better~~oh dear" I should have payed attention to that last statement but I was to busy wallowing in my own pity. "Why do I have all these responsibilities?" "I don't care about power." Why was I this way? And the last question I mumbled before I went into the floating vastness of my kingdom of sleep was "why can't I just be a normal non-threatening pony?"
