Survivours
Chapter 1 - What is happening to our world?
Previous ChapterApplejack heard a tapping sound on her door and reluctantly got out of bed to go see what it was. She guessed it was her pet dog Winona seeing as she would be the only one awake at this hour. As she opened the door though, she found herself wronged, Applebloom (Applejacks younger sister), was at the door, a frightened look on her face. Applejack crouched down, now at her sisters level, she looked into the 12 year olds eyes and spoke,
"What's wrong, Applebloom?" Her voice was raspy from not being awake long and her eyes were squinted as the hallway lights were on. Applebloom didn't reply, instead she grabbed Applejacks' hand and pulled her towards the stairs that lead them downstairs. Applejack stopped suddenly, her feet digging into the carpet.
"Woah there sugar," Applejack started, clearing her throat, "what are ya doin'?" Applebloom slowly turned around looking at Applejack and opened her mouth to speak.
"Come downstairs an' LOOK AT THE TV SO YO-" Applejack covered her mouth, interrupting her sentence
"Not so loud, Applebloom. Ya'll could wake Big Mac or Granny Smith."
"They're both awake... and waitin' for ya" Applebloom stated, calming herself,
Applejack looked back at her room, then to Applebloom. She sighed, feeling her sister let go of her wrist. Applejack let her gaze wonder back to the stairs, where Applebloom was already walking down them. Applejack followed closely behind.
As Applebloom had said, Granny Smith and Big Macintosh were both downstairs in the living room staring a the TV. Applejack gathered up the courage to speak before exhaling and walking over to the seating area,
"howdy... wait, why are ya watchin' the news? Ya neve-"
"Shhhh..." Big Mac looked up at Applejack and patted the seat next to him, ushering her to sit next to him. Applejack smiled and took the offer. The sofa dipped as she landed on it. She calmed her self, looking next to her, she saw Big Mac then at the screen, where she saw people rushing around pushing others and crawling on the floor. Someone that looked like a news reporter looked at the camera uncomfortably, and then spoke,
'we do not know as to what has happened but there... are people, who are going insane. At least that is what it seems'
Applejack cocked her head to the side as she noticed a streak of rainbow cross the screen. Then stop, and look at the reporter. The girl spoke with a raspy voice, rushed but calm.
'I'm so, so ma'am but you need to get out of here... NOW!' There was a pause as Applejack mumbled to herself, 'what are ya doing RD' Her eyes widened as she heard the girl scream,
'BEHIND YOU!' She pulled out a gun and pointed it at the camera-man. The man ducked in time as a gun shot sounded throughout the TV. Applejack cringed as the camera man looked behind him and stopped to look at the corpse lying on the floor.
'Thank you so much... What is your name darling?' The girl sighed,
'my name is Rainbow Dash, and if Applejack is watching this right now... Grab some leather clothing; a baseball bat; some ammo; a gun and get out of town... now... and meet me a-' Before Applejack could take note of the place to meet Rainbow Dash, the TV screen turned itself off and buzzed.
Applejack opened her closet and grabbed a pair of biker jeans, a plaid t-shirt and a leather jacket. Hastily, she grabbed her stetson, placed it on her head and pulled her boots on, nearly falling on the floor in the process. To add the final touch she pulled her hair into a rather loose 'ponytail' and ran out the bedroom, her phone falling out of pocket and onto the floor.
"Alright, ya'll ready? Ah just need ta call RD..." Applejack reached into her pocket to find her phone was missing. "Where is it?"
Applejack ran upstairs to see that her phone was on the floor buzzing and flashing a bright colour. She picked it up to see that Rainbow Dash was calling her. Her thumb slid over the screen as she accepted the call, and placed the phone next to her ear.
"Yes?"
"AJ DID YOU NOT SEE THE NEWS?!" Applejack flinched at the sudden raise in volume, then replied,
"Of course Ah did, Ah got everything ya said to get. Ah didn't quite catch where I was supposed to meet you. Could ya repeat that for me?" she heard an annoyed sigh on the other end of the phone and chuckled slightly.
"Meet me at Sugarcube Corner... ya know... where Pinkie works?" Applejack nodded to herself and said quietly.
"Yep Ah do... and sugar, remember, noise attracts those things... Ah should think. So don't use the gun as much."
"yeah, yeah, got it. I gotta go... Just remember, Sugarcube corner."
"Yes ma'am will d-" A beep interrupted Applejack, which caused her to look at her phone. She saw that the call had been ended. She sighed and placed her phone in her pocket, this time zipping the pocket up and and running downstairs.
As she reached the bottom step, she turned almost colliding with her brother in the process. Tipping her hat she apologized but noticed that the frown on Big Macs' face did not move. Applejack laughed nervously and down at the floor. She took her hat off and rubbed her neck.
"Phone... NOW" Applejack looked up at her brother, dumbfounded at his words,
"Why do ya need my phone? Ah need it ta call Dash or one of the gals to let them know when Ah'm close ta sugarcube corner." She dodged her brothers hand as he reached for her pocket and grabbed his wrist.
"What's gotten into ya Mac?" Applejack looked down at the floor and shook her head slowly.
"Ah think Ah get it. Ya'll want me to stay with you lot so we can stay in a team." Applejack sighed and continued "So ya don't have ta be the only one to take care of the family." Applejack let go of his wrist, "Ah'm only taking a few weapons, ya'll know what ta do... Ah need ta follow my own path..." She patted the mans arm and finished by saying,
"besides, ya know mah phone means the world to me!" Applejack walked around Big Mac, making her way outside, towards the weapons shed and leaving behind a dumbfounded family.
When Applejack looked into the shed she found multiple weapons, many of which belonged to her. She placed her hand on her chin and leaned against the door frame. Her bow and arrows seemed to be staring at her, urging Applejack to grab it, but when she reached for it a hand touched her shoulder, and somehow growled at her. Applejack froze and slowly turned around, her eyes widened. Standing before her was a corpse of some sort, it skin had been torn off its face and other parts of its body. The disheveled hair was a dark green. Its eyes however, caught Applejack off the most, they were black with broken skin covering them. The clothes had been torn so skin was visible.
As an instinct Applejack reached for the machete just next to her bow and struck the shiny but sharp metal against the intruders head, causing a 'crack' to eminate throughout the orchard closest to the barn.
When Applejack tried to pull the weapon out of the newly split skull, it wouldn't move, so she moved onto kicking the legs so the body gave way and the machete came clean out only being covered in blood. She looked down at the new body and kicked it. When there was no other movements she grabbed an empty duffle bag and placed it on the floor then she took her weapons, hopefully the girls would've brought their own but that was unlikely. After Applejack had placed all the weapons in the bag, she took a look at the machete that was stabbed into the floor and few center metres away. She grabbed it and threw it into the duffle bag zipped it up and threw it over her shoulder. Applejack was strong enough to run with it, which was good for the occasion. She looked at the shed, over her sweapons, , and sighed, she should've locked it, so no one could grab HER weapons, she didn't care. She had 70% of the weapons in the bag. Most of them melee weapons. The rest, heavy power guns and a lot of ammo. Applejack chuckled as she ran round the front got into her truck and drove off, leaving a trail of dust behind.
