A Changeling Effect
Mending wounds
Previous ChapterAuthor's Note
Hey, guys...sorry for the extremely long wait...I got really depressed for a while and continuing just didn't seem like an option. Continuing the story that is. I'm sorry for marking it as cancelled...it was the depression and everything. You can find details about it in my blog.
Also I made an on purpose mistake at the ending...see if you can spot it :D
Mending wounds
Luna slowly stood from where she passed out on Celestia's bedroom floor, a heavy groan escaping her lips. Finding herself too weak to stand, she merely sat down, rubbing away the tired from her eyes. The light above was too bright for her, thus blinding her, forcing her to wince, a hoof over her forehead to block out the light. She yawned and took notice of the letter on the floor in front of her. It confused her.
With a tilt of her head she sparked her magic, causing the parchment to float up to her baggy eyes. As best she could, she read. As she read, her brain finally kicked in with a sputter. She dropped the letter with a twitch of her eye.
"Chrysalis did WHAT!?"
Suddenly sparked awake, face turning red and steam escaping her ears and nostrils, Luna flared her wings and soared out of the broken window. Much like Celestia, she had no idea where she was going, so she decided to make for Twilight's.
Outside Celestia's chamber door, the guard to the right of the door, took a glance at the guard on the other side. The guard noticed this and glanced back.
"What?" the white stallion asked, his voice a little high pitched for a stallion of his size.
He remained silent, curious as to what his response may be.
"I think the royal princesses have gone crazy."
The left guard cocked his head. "You're just figuring this out?"
"Well, Celestia was one sweeet ball of fire!," said the right stallion with a small hop.
"Would you quit breaking the fourth wall, already?"
"Can I break the third, then?"
With a sigh, the left guard executed the most intense face hoof known to Equestria. In other words, it was just a face hoof.

"NO!!" Night Winger pleaded, moving away from his father. "You lied to me! You said you loved me!"
"But we do!" Cadence protested, slowly approaching the colt who huddled under the bed. "There's been a misunderstanding!"
Night Winger glared. "How do you misunderstand leaving me out in the Everfree where I nearly was killed by Timberwolves!?"
Shining groaned, leaning down to see his son, his blue eyes seemed to glow in the slightest. "Son, I love you very much. I'd never do such a thing to you. Within the near month I've known you, I've become too attached to you to even yell at you. I-I...I know things have been hard lately, but I've been doing my best to raise you, buddy. To be honest...I...I want to thank Chrysalis...you wouldn't be here if she hadn't of, ow!"
"Speak your next words carefully." Cadance said sternly, drawing her hoof back from where she hit Shining on the shoulder.
"It's okay, I know what she did." Night Winger looked down. A tear slips from his right eye. "I was just an accident..."
The door suddenly opened and Flurry Heart entered, rubbing her eyes with her hooves.
"Mommy, what's with all the yelling? I can't sleep..." she whined softly
"Fl-Flurry?" Night Winger peeked around Shining to see his sister in the door way. "FLURRY!" Night Winger scrambled out from under the bed and tackled the filly, embracing her tightly.
Flurry Heart could only gasp in surprise. "Wingie!" she cried, returning the embrace. "You were gone for so long! I missed you!"
Shining took this moment to hold his son, wrapping them up in his blue magic and pulled them both close.
Flurry couldn't hold back her tears as she cried and held on dearly to her brother. "I missed you so much! I...I thought you got h-hurt!" the filly weeped, wiping her eyes, planting a soft kiss on the changeling's cheek. "I love you, brother" Flurry nuzzled him.
Night Winger sighed softly, a small smile appearing on his muzzle as he curled up into her, nuzzling her fur. "I love you too, Flurry..."
"A-are you hungry, Night Winger?" Cadence asked, nuzzling the changeling softly on the cheek and earned a nod in response.
Shining wiped his eyes and smiled softly as he floated the two foals over to the bed and covered them up. "Feed your brother," he said. "Your mother and I are going to check on the others."
Flurry nodded and smiled more, holding Night Winger who laid his head on her chest. She kissed his head, telling him she loves him. She misses her brother. Instead of chasing each other around the castle, she was left alone to wander the corridors after school. She also missed Sunburst. These sudden changes left an ache in her heart. She watched as her Parents left the room, leaving the two of them alone. Flurry was at least happy to be with her beloved brother again.
"Flurry?" Nightinger asked, gazing up at the pink filly.
"Yes, brother?" Flurry responded with her twentieth kiss to Night winger's head.
"You're the best," he nuzzled his sister's chest as a yawn escaped his lips.
"You are too, little brother," she smiled, keeping him close, his purring putting her stress at ease as she held him tighter. "I love you so much."
Night Winger let out a soft giggle. "It's not good to go to bed with a full belly as daddy says, Flurry," the changeling colt commented before he closed his eyes.

Chrysalis sat just outside of Twilight's throne room, bored as they were: "Deciding what to do with her."
She held a scared-for-his-life guard in her forelegs, rubbing his mane with a hoof as he trembled. She rocked him side to side, using him to substitute for her son for the time being. She nuzzles him softly and kisses his head. She used her abilities to transform him into Night Winger, keeping him close.
"P-please let me go..." he whimpered, looking to his fellow guard for help, but being on the other side of the hall to avoid Chrysalis wasn't helping.
"Now why would I ever do that, sweetie?" she blows lightly into his tummy.
"No!" the guard pleaded, fighting back his giggles, kicking his little hindlegs. "S-stop! I beg - agh! Ahh hahahaha!! Stop iiitt!" he wailed, a wide smile on his face as he was tickled beyond comparison, flailing his little hooves helplessly.
The other guard watched from his post, a rosy blush upon his white cheeks. "D-do I get a turn?" he asked softly.
