Chapters Vinyl's Birthday Surprise
Laying in the box, clear to my eyes, is silky dark purple lingerie. With a thumping heart in my chest, I lift it up. Ooh, this is something a lot more exciting than I’d usually do. I used to be much more of a prude about this sort of encounters, but I’m ready now. I want to try these types of things. I want to try them with her.
I hold my new sexy lingerie with two hands up in front of me, silently inspecting it. I rub my thumb against the fabric. It’s softer than I’d expect. I lay it on the table gently before pulling off my nightclothes and tossing it into the closet. Now I’m exposed, naked, but soon not to be. I grab the lingerie and quickly pull it on. Vinyl, in a muffled voice, moans and makes suppressed vocal noises. I assumes this is out of her surprise and pleasure. I know she wanted this. She had asked me to try this bondage thing with her before, but back then I had refused. Sliding back and forth against my lover, I close my eyes and take deep breaths as I feel my heart pounding in my chest. I let my eyes slowly drift open and take in the sight. Vinyl’s face was quiet and unmoving. It showed no emotion. Her eyes closed. She appeared asleep, but with the startle she just had, she couldn’t be. I grabbed the little box beside me and turned off the vibrators as I yelled at her, “Vinyl!”

A woman’s voice comes out of the phone, “911, what’s you-”
I cut her off, I don’t have time to listen, “I need someone here now! She’s dying! My girlfriend isn’t breathing!”
“We’ll send a paramedic-”
“Good, thank you, send them quickly!”
The woman on the other side began to say something else but I didn’t hear it because I hung up, all I needed to know was that someone was coming to help, now I needed to try and fix this. I dropped the phone and kneeled next to Vinyl. I was a little unsure about how to do this. I have never been formally trained for it, so I tried imitating what I’ve seen on TV and other places. I placed my hands on top of each other over her chest and pushed them down. Then I pulled them up, still holding them together on her. I drew my hands down into her chest again, and again, pounding into her with tears starting to flow out of my eyes.
“Live Vinyl, live!”
It wasn’t working. I kept going and she still laid there motionless. I decided I have to try something else and so I lifted my hands off her and held her head between my hands. I’ve seen this on TV too. I held her nose closed and pressed my lips onto hers. I began blowing into her mouth, exhausting all my lungs could give her. I switch between hammering her chest and blasting my breath into her for some time before, while desperately smacking her chest with entangled fists, she suddenly began to gasp wildly. I’m overjoyed! And thrilled! Thanking Celestia that, even though wheezing and gagging, Vinyl is alive! I embraced her softly, and allowed her to get her bearings. The whole traumatizing experience, from noticing her lack of movement to her huffing on air lasted less than a minute, but it felt like eternity to me.
She was dead, and now she’s alive. I couldn’t imagine life without her anymore. She coughed and wheezed some more, and then looked up at me as I leaned over her. I watched her, waiting for her to say something or do something.
Finally, in a weak voice, she spoke, “My mouth tastes funny.”
I giggled hysterically as I embraced her with a tight squeeze. My laugh is broken and fractured as tears of joy roll out my eyes. She’s alive, everything’s ok. Vinyl protested my grip on her, but I’m not willing to let her go. I hung on as long as I could, knowing I must seem like an emotional mess to her now. Me, the one always keeping her in check, always trying to keep things orderly and rational, the one always making sure the bills are payed and we’ll have food next month, now I lay in a messy, tearful, heap clutching on to her as if life depended on it.
Sirens steadily began appearing in the background. I can hear them get nearer outside. I knew it must be an ambulance coming because of my call for help. I don’t want to let go of Vinyl just yet, but I know when they arrive I’ll have to tell them what happened here. I keep my embrace with Vinyl for a moment more, with my head resting on her bare chest listening to her heartbeat. It’s slow, and calming, and it lets me know she’s still here, she’s not leaving me.
Reluctantly, I lift my head off her. I stare into her face. I feel my chin quivering at the thought that I could have lost her. Vinyl watches me with a look more serious than I’ve ever seen her give before, as though she understands what had happened and my distressed thoughts. Then, she breaks into a smile and wipes some of my tears off my face with her hand. She seems almost unfazed by this, by the fact that she could have been dead. I place my hand over her own on my cheek and take just a few more quivering breaths before I look into her eyes and ask her,
“Vinyl, are you okay? You… understand what happened?”
I notice a slight clenching of the jaw when she tells me, “Yeah, I think I get it. I’m fine.”
“The paramedics are going to be here soon, I believe. I’m going to have to tell them what happened.”
“Okay. You’d better get dressed then.” She tells me in a quiet tone.
I don’t want to move, but I can hear the sirens buzzing nearby and know they’ll be here at any moment. Reluctantly, I get up off the bed and upon standing up, I realize I’m still wearing the strap-on. I have no good feelings for it anymore. This whole surprise was a bad idea, I knew it, I shouldn’t have even tried. I tear the thing off as quickly as I could and toss it under the bed. I notice the vibrators and bondage tools have fallen off the side of the bed and now lay on the floor next to it. I intend to move those, but I now hear the doorbell ringing. I’m still not dressed. Once I arrived at the door and opened it, I found a police officer and a paramedic standing before me. On the side of the road rested an ambulance and police car. The officer began asking me questions. First, if I was the one who called in 911, I told him that I was. Then they became more interested in where Vinyl is and what happened. I told them that she’s okay now, that she’s breathing and awake, and that she’s in the bedroom. They wanted to see her. I let them in, and we went to the bedroom. As we went, a wave of premature embarrassment washed over me as I realized they would walk into Vinyl sitting naked on the bed and sex objects lying next to the bed. My face grew red thinking about how I’ll have to explain. I felt a small sense of relief when we arrived at the room and saw no sex objects anywhere, and Vinyl sitting on the side of the bed buttoning up a pair of skinny jeans with a loose sleeveless top covering her breasts.
We entered. The paramedic went over to Vinyl with some equipment and started doing… some kind of tests I’m sure, I don’t really know. She was feeling Vinyl’s chest and examining her I suppose. The officer continued to ask me questions. He was pressing to know what was happening when Vinyl stopped breathing. I was reluctant to tell him, and rather than telling the truth, I told him she was just sleeping, and I noticed after waking up. Vinyl heard my lie, and decided she should interrupt and speak the truth about this.
“We were fucking.” She spoke loud and clear.
I could feel my face get bright and hot. I want to shrink down in my embarrassment. Why did she feel the need to tell them that? The officer asked me a few more questions, and now I felt it difficult to look at him as I answered, and I spoke very softly. The paramedic finished examining Vinyl and talked with her while I sat in silence waiting for them to be done. The police officer left, followed by the paramedic, and Vinyl and I were left alone in an eerie silence.
I moved next to her on the bed and slid to her side. “Hey,” I said softly, “Are you alright? What did the paramedic say?” I asked her.
She gave me a glare, which was startling and unnerving, and told me, “I need to go see a doctor and have some more tests done for my heart. They want to see if my heart’s “healthy” enough for sex now. I’m fine. They’re a bunch of quakes. I just couldn’t breathe for a while.” She frowned and looked down at her pants.
It was obvious to me that she was upset about this. It was all my fault. I should have known not to try this. I knew before, I lost my rational and did this. She could be dead because of me.
Looking into her face, I apologized for what I’ve done, “Vinyl… I’m sorry about this, about what happened. It’s all my fault.”
I watched her scrunch up her face before she exploded at me, “What the fuck were you doing! You fucking tied my hands and covered my mouth and f-fucked me!” I tried to interject, but I couldn’t. She’s going too fast and demanding against me. I just can’t defend myself after what’s happened. She continued, “What were you thinking! You can’t just do this without telling me, or asking or something! You could have hurt me! Actually, you did hurt me, I was fucking dying because of what you pulled off! What were you thinking!?”
My eyes are red with fear and self-hate as streams of tears run down my face. What was I thinking? This was never a good idea. I hurt her, the person I would want hurt the least of anybody. I very nearly killed her and now she’s angry with me. She’s hurt by me. I never want to see her go away. I don’t want her angry with me like this. I need to make this better. I can’t lose her. Why did I do this? I know why I did the bondage thing, but it’s silly and wrong now. Would she accept my answer if I answered her? Maybe I’m just too awful to her.
I answered her raging question through a sorrowful whimper, “I thought... You’d like it.”
“What!?” She demanded, “You thought I’d like it!? You forced yourself on me, why would I like that!?”
“T-the bondage.” I quickly interrupted, “You said before that you wanted to try it… I thought you would like it… a surprise.”
I tilted my head down and put my hands over my face, awaiting her response. I could sense her eyes on me. I tried to control the liquids coming from my eyes while she couldn’t see my crying. We both breathed heavily, her out of anger, and me from the hardship of the situation. I felt her shift her position on the bed and take in a deep breath. We sat in silence for an unbearable amount of time.
“Octi,” she spoke timidly, “I’m sorry I snapped at you. It’s just… you can’t do that. You know? You can’t just start doing... what you were doing without asking me first. That’s not what bondage is.”
“I didn’t know” I told her quietly.
“I know you didn’t know. You just… still have to ask me before. And you just, can’t do it by force. And there should have been a safety word or something. There needs to be precautions for this sorta thing… in case something happens.”
My face is pressed against my hands as my tears flow freely. She’s trying to make me feel better now, I know she is, but I just can’t stop the water works. I need to let it out now. So I sit there next to her, weeping into my palms. I feel her arm reach over and pull me closer to her. She’s wrapped her arms around me, holding me next to her. The tears don’t stop coming, and I keep my face covered, but I allow myself to rest my head on her shoulder. She gives me comfort.
This isn’t like me. I don’t cry. I’m not weak like that. I’m never emotional like this. Why can’t I stop this? I’m always one to keep it in check. Why am I doing this? Is it because of what happened? It’s because of what I could have lost. I can’t pull myself back together because I could have lost her. I can’t imagine life without her. She’s been there for me since the beginning. She’s been there long before I even knew... how important she is to me. We grew up together. I know I need her. I just do.
“Octi,” She spoke while holding my shoulder and running her fingers through my hair, “I love you. And I’m sorry I got angry. Just, next time you do something crazy like that, tell me first, okay?”
I’m never going to do something like this again. It was a terrible idea from the start. I’ll never hurt her again. It must be strange for her now. I don’t think she’s ever seen me like this. She’s seen me upset before, and many times she’s given me motivation to keep going with my dreams and ambitions, but she’s never seen me cover my face and sob. What does she feel about this I wonder?
“Alright” I assure her with a weak voice. “Vinyl,” I begin as I hold on close to her, “I’m sorry. I didn’t want to hurt you. I love you.” I really can’t lose her. I know I can’t. This experience had put it all together, I need her. I know what I need to do to keep her close forever.
We hold one another close in each other’s arms for what seemed like forever, though I know it was really only a few moments. I wipe my tears away before I ask her.
I cleared my voice and spoke, “Vinyl, I can’t lose you, and I can’t imagine life without you. Vinyl, will you...” I took a nervous breath while my heart began to race, “marry me?”
She held on to me, and looked into my eyes. She began to cry, but a wide grin also formed on her face. She almost began laughing when she gave me a nod and managed to squeak out, “yes.”
I’m overjoyed. There’s tears of joy in both our eyes as we clench onto each other as if we’d drift away if either of us let go. We fall back onto the bed together, laying on our backs. We just lay there, my head resting on her chest and her arms wrapped around me. We lay there as long as we could, doing nothing but enjoying each other’s presents. Being in love.
Vinyl's Birthday Surprise
I awoke in the dim lit room with her lying beside me on the bed. Light leaked out from behind the curtains. Morning had come. As every morning, I woke up before her. My biological clock stayed true and woke me up early for the day's activities. It was especially important to wake up early today. Thinking about what I am going to do kept me up last night, I was starting to get fearful that I wouldn’t wake up, but here I am now, awake and ready to go.
The room smelled musty from loose articles of dirty clothing laying around the floor. None of it mine, my lover simply does not know how to pick up after herself. Gently, I roll the covers off of me, careful not to stir my counterpart. I slip silently out of my blanket and off the bed. Slowly, I cruise my feet into my slippers and stand. I jitter as I approach the door, but keep myself moving slowly as to not wake my slumbering love boat. I am very nervous but also excited for what I have planned for her; I know she’s going to love it. I turn the knob and scooch out the room, carefully closing the door behind me.
Vinyl is going to be so pleased with the surprise I have for her. I’m going to make sure this is her best birthday. She’ll love me for this. Or love me more that is. I creep down the hall past hanging photos of us, and family, and friends, until I arrive at the door to my music room. This room is very special to me, it’s where I keep all my instruments, and awards, and all relating to my career. Across from it is Vinyl’s music room, but I’m not really one for all her loud techno-y music. And it’s really more of a hobby for her than a career, but I can still admire how much of herself she puts into it.
The door creeks open as I enter my domain. Walking passed my cellos and awards, I think back on how reluctant I’ve been to try this. Vinyl really had tried to edge me on to do it, but I held onto my reservations. She eventually stopped asking. I sort of felt bad for denying her this, but I didn’t want it, not then at least. Now, after more time to think about it, I realize it’s not really as strange as it first appeared. It’s still private, nobody else will know what we’re doing. And there’s no real harm in it; she wants it, I’m going to give it to her. I just hope I’m doing it right.
I stroll by my framed photos of me performing and stop at a closet in the corner of the room. Pulling open the door, I look down and move a heap of clothes to reveal a box I’ve hidden there. I pick it up and heave it onto the table where my cello sits. I lift up its silky blue cover to reveal its contents.
