Rarity wasn't often one for sensationalism...
Oh who was she kidding, yes, she was. She strived to be sensational, in her personality, her work, sometimes even her day-to-day life. But the type of sensationalism found in tabloids—unbased gossip, attention seeking stories, and the like—it was the kind of sensationalism that made her want to turn her nose up in disgust.
But every so often she did find herself reclining on her couch, sipping iced tea, and flipping through the pages of The Canterlot Enquirer. Not for news or anything like that; articles found in these... less that reputable magazines were only good for one thing: comedy. Rarity so rarely allowed herself to indulge in such carefree pastimes, but this was one she made an exception for.
Rarity chuckled as she flipped through the pages. "Fleur de Lis having mane extensions." She shook her head. "What will they think of next?"
She took a sip of her tea and continued flipping through the pages, looking for any other good 'stories' that it had. Unfortunately, it didn't seem like many were left. All she could find after a few more flips was the same weekly-recycled story about Sapphire Shores using lip syncing and some bland trite about some other nobles.
Certain that the Enquirer had run its course for her already, Rarity was about to put it down. However, before she could, her eye caught something. A massive, colorful advertisement that dominated one of the pages and the words at the top: 'If you care about fashion, you have to try this.
No harm in looking, I suppose. Rarity's magic pried to pages fully open again and she scanned the page for further details.

A new experimental spell, fresh from the magicking world, has finally hit mainstream fashion. Any pony can tell you that putting clothes on is a hassle. Even unicorns still struggle, despite telekinesis. Well now there's a special spell that puts on an entire ensemble on you in an instant! Just follow the steps below!
Rarity nodded her head, lips pressed together. She could attest to the ad's claim about clothes being unwieldy. She'd often struggled to put on dresses, even with her experience and magic combined. There was just so much fabric to trip over and get tangled in that it was always a difficult chore. She had to admit that a spell to bypass that struggle would be welcome indeed.
Her curiosity piqued, Rarity's eyes wandered to the bottom of the page and looked over the instructions. It seemed they were all there, which was curious. She'd doubted somepony would have spent so much money on this ad just to give away the whole secret. It was... a little dubious to say the least.
At the same time, Rarity wasn't too worried about it. Surely The Enquirer wouldn't publish this advertisement if it wasn't legitimate. Besides, she was way to excited about the prospect of instant dressing that she was willing to try it. Who knew, if it worked she might be able to start wearing clothing more regularly.
She read over the steps again, just to make sure that she understood them well enough. The first step said that she needed to have her outfit of choice in front of her, so she rose from her couch and glanced around the interior of her shop. While dresses lined the racks all around her, she figured it was best not to try out her spell here. With so many clothes in eye view, she didn't want the spell to get confused. Giving it some thought, she remembered that she had a mannequin upstairs already set up with the first dress of her fall lineup. It would be the perfect test outfit for the spell.
Setting her ice tea off to the side, Rarity trotted over to the stairs, magazine in tow. As she ascended them, she flipped back through the pages to re-read the steps again. Once again, it all seemed very cut and dry, so her confidence that she could do the spell only rose, as well as her excitement.
Being able to casually wear clothes would be great. Not only could she show off her wares around town, but if this spell got out to more unicorns, than clothing in general could become commonplace around Ponyville and her business would boom! Just the thought made her giddy with anticipation.
Clearing the last step, she went over to her sewing room and opened the door. Waiting for her on the other side was the dress she'd been thinking of. Long and red, with orange accents and puffed sleeves.
She smiled. Perfect.
Dropping the magazine, she prepared to focus her magic solely on her body. Step two laid this part out in particular detail, so she hoped she got it right. Next, she made sure to get a good look at the outfit, drinking in all the details from it before moving onto the final step: casting the spell.
With a flash of blue light, Rarity cast the spell without a second thought.
And promptly blacked out.
She opened her eyelids slowly, groaning as a rush of light hit her eyes. Rarity brought up a forehoof to shield her face as she finished waking up. Her head was pounding with an achy sensation that stemmed from her horn.
"What happened?" she moaned, rolling to her side. It was then that she realized she was lying on the floor of her sewing room. Blinking against the light, who's harshness was fading, she glanced over to the clock on her wall. It read seven o'clock.
"Seven?" she gaped, incredulous. "But I could've sworn it was four..."
Suddenly, she snapped awake, the memories of before her blacking out coming back to her. "I've been unconscious for nearly three hours?" She grunted out a cry of fury.
That stupid spell! And I followed the directions so well! Rarity began to sit up, deciding to write The Canterlot Enquirer a very strongly worded letter when she was--

Rarity paused, a soft sound hitting her ears. She blinked in confusion, looking around the room for what the source of the noise was. She didn't see anything, and began to sit up again.

There it was again! Rarity stopped and looked around again. She hoped that whatever was making that noise would stop soon. She wanted to get off of the floor, even it if was really soft. Especially around her derrière.

Rarity glanced down with suspicion, then did a double-take. Wrapped around her waist was something fluffy, plastic, and poofy. She blinked with confusion, not sure what exactly it was for a moment, but then it became painfully clear.
She was, undeniably, wearing a diaper.
Rarity screamed.
"Sweet Celestia!" She bounded up, and glanced back at her diapered rump. The foalish garment pushed her legs apart slightly as she stood, making her feel awkward just by standing. With each movement of her hips, the plush padding would shift, pressing itself against her flanks and rear end.

She took a curious step forward, as if her current angle was just somehow making the outfit invisible to her or something. With her magic, Rarity scooped up the tabloid, hoping that it might have to key to understanding what had just happened. She practically ripped the pages with the speed she turned back to the ad and she furiously looked it over. Towards the bottom, she found a previously overlooked warning printed in a tiny font that did not do justice to the importance of the words.
Warning: The transfer process causes an enormous strain on one's magic, usually resulting in unconsciousness. Also during transfer, the outfit may spontaneously transmute into a random article of clothing. Most test subjects reported diapers as a common side effect, but bibs, bonnets, booties, pacifiers, and monocles have also been reported.
Rarity huffed. "Well that seems like something that really should've been mentioned at the beginning. I never would have tried this spell had I known this was a possibility!" She shuffled her hips to make a point to the magazine, but that only served to press the plush interior of her diaper against her intimate areas. Again.
Blushing heavily, Rarity's head snapped back to the diaper. "That's it, you're coming off right now!"
The fact that she hadn't removed it the instant she learned she was wearing it wasn't lost on her, but she attributed that to shock and confusion. Now, she was just angry. "Never again," Rarity huffed as she gripped the diaper with her magic and pulled. The diaper responded by staying firmly put.

Rarity couldn't stop yet another blush as the padding once again found its way onto her marehood. Worried, Rarity poured everything she could into her telekinesis and pulled as hard as she could. "Why aren't you coming off?!" she huffed at the diaper. Her attention swiveled back over to the tabloid and she grabbed for it again. Looking over the page, she found another warning below the first, this one twice as disheartening.
Due to magical residue leftover from the transfer process, the clothes will be temporarily affixed to the body. Most cases only last half an hour at most, however victims of transformation have reported the clothes being stuck for at least twelve hours, if not longer.
Rarity dropped the tabloid in shock. "T-Twelve hours?!" It took a moment for what this meant to sink in. She was going to be spending the rest of the night stuck in a diaper, if not longer. Her chest tighten at the thought. "This can't be happening," she cried. "Of all the worst possible things that could happen, this is the. Worst. Possible. THING!"
She wanted to faint, but seeing as her couch was downstairs she held off on the idea. Just as well, the movement might cause the diaper she wore to... do that thing again.

Her stomach rumbled just then, and she realized that it was well passed the time she normally ate dinner. "I... I suppose that will have to come after I eat something."
It seemed, unfortunately, that the diaper was here to stay. The thought made her groan, but it could be much, much worse. This could've happened in a public place, after all. At least at home nopony was around to witness her humiliation. Sweetie Belle wouldn't be staying her until next week, and she didn't have any errands to run, so there was that to be grateful for.

Rarity managed to hum a soft tune to herself as she grabbed some vegetables from her fridge and brought them over to the sink. She turned the faucet on and water was soon rushing out. She grabbed a head of lettuce and placed it underneath to wash it.
For a while, the menial task occupied her time. Between cleaning vegetables and humming, she was able to totally ignore the diaper.
