It was grey muggy day in June as you drove down the streets of your hometown. You take back streets and every shortcut you can to make sure you get to work on time. Working in an office bored the ever loving hell out of you but with the nice paycheck you got every week made it that much easier to deal with. As you pull into the parking lot you quickly find a spot and rush inside the building. The building interior was a dull white with grey carpeting that was the perfect contrast of the personality of everyone sles working there. While most of the employees there had about as personality as a wet cardboard box you still found a couple people that you could hang around with without any issues. The most noteable being your cubicle mate Tom a guy who hated the company almost as much as you but much like you he stayed simply for the nice paycheck every week.
Walking through the aisles you take your seat at your desk and turn on your computer as Tom flicks a rubber band at you to get your attention. “Look who finally made it to the happiest place on earth.” The man said mimicking his bosses annoying cheerful tone. “If I have to hear Dave and his happy go lucky voice one more time I’m gonna go crazy.” He said leaning back and drinking some of his coffee. Tom was a slacker at times just like you but he always got his tasks done on time so your boss normally overlooks it. You were a different story however, no matter what you did your boss never got onto about anything. You could streak through the office buck naked and h would probably clap his hands and grangulate you for thinking outside the box.
“Hey atleast he has some personality which is more that can be said about everyone else here.” You say in a deadpan tone as you began your daily tasks.
“Haha Oh C’mon there is some rich personality her man I mean look at that guy over there.” Tom said pointing to a another worker in a nearby cubicle. “Everyday at noon he scribbles something on a piece of paper before throwing it away.” He continued to say in a pseudo excited tone.
“Really? Thats awesome maybe we should call CNN and tell them about this guy.” You say mimicking Tom before the two of you begin laughing. “Hey Tom I found something you may like. I was browsing the web last night looking for a new show to watch and I came across something interesting.” You say as you froward him a link to a website. Tom was no stranger to your screamer pranks you pull on him almost daily so he clicked the link with the full expectation of being scared shitless.
“Archer?” Tom says in a confused tone. “Man this better not be another one of your pranks. My heart can’t take anymore of your pranks.” He says looking at with a look of apprehension and worry.
“Don’t worry it's not a prank.” You say clicking on the same link and clicking on a video. “See just a harmless T.V show. I watched a few episodes over the weekend and fell in love with the show. Take some time to watch an episode or two I guarantee it will grow on you.” You say as you close the browser and get back to work. Taking your advice Tom puts in his headphones and decides to watch an episode while he works. Time passes as the clock struck half past twelve and you and Tom headed out to get some lunch. The two of you decide to take your car and head into the city and stop off at a seafood restaurant that overlooked the ocean.
“So, what did you think of the show?” You ask as you begin eating.
“I actually like it.” He says with a smile. “For a kids show it’s actually really good. Probably gonna watch more when we get back to the office.” He says before tacking into his fish. The two of you ate and conversed before throwing your food away and heading back to the office. Once back you two shamble into your cubicle and take a seat and get back to work. An hour or two later your phone dings letting you know that you received an email. Curious you tap the notification and read the email. As the email pops up time stops and everything around you begins to darken as whispers can be heard coming from all around you. Terrified you try to close the email and shake your head trying to wake up before everything goes back to normal. After a few seconds your hand gets sucked into the phone as the rest of your body soon follows after it.
As you get sucked into your phone you begin to spin around a weird blue and purple vortex before being blinded by a bright light. Instinctively you cover your face as you're pulled towards the light. The closer you get to the light an odd warm sensation berating your skin. You open your eyes to find yourself in freefall and approaching the ground at a rapid speed. With no time to react your body locks up in a straight position as you collide with the ground causing a small exploding sound that would startle any small animal close to you. You open your eyes and are surprised to find that you aren't dead instead you're in a field near a town that seems eerily familiar to you.
“Where the hell am I?’ You think to yourself as you stand up and fall back down as one of your legs buckles under you. Studying your leg it becomes painfully obvious that you broke your leg on impact. Worried that there might be internal damage you pull out your phone to call an ambulance. As you feel around the ground and your pockets you're shocked to find your phone nowhere in sight.
You muster up your strength and begin to drag yourself to the nearby familiar town. After thirty minutes of dragging your broken body through the dirt you finally reach the entrance to the town as a startling development snaps into your head. “No it’s not possible.” You say as you look around and spot a sign that says; “Welcome to Ponyville.” You shake your head and begin pinching yourself. “C’mon buddy it's time to wake up I’ve had enough of this dream.” You as you slap yourself several times. “Ok buddy calm down there is a logical explanation for this.” You say taking a few minutes to think. “This is obviously some kind weird coma brought on by bad shellfish. I knew we should’ve got burgers instead.” You say chastising yourself for making a poor food decision.
You sit up and lean against the welcome sign as you take a deep breathe. “Ok time to stand up and walk.” You say rising to feet before wobbling. “Yup I got this” You say standing up straight for a few seconds. “Nope I’m going down.” You say before falling down face first and passing out.
You lay there unconscious as a grey mare with blonde mane flies by and notices your broken body. Concerned she lands next to you and pokes you with her hoof. “Hey are you ok?” She says as she continues to poke you. “Hello, are you gonna answer me.” She continues to say before noticing your broken leg. “Uh oh we need to get you to a hospital.” She says as she lifts you up by holding your collar in her mouth. She bursts into the hospital and drops you in front of the desk.
“Dear Celestia what is that thing.” A nurse with a pale white coat and bright pink hair says in shock as the grey mare lifts up your broken leg as it makes an audible crunching sound. “Don’t know. I found it lying near the Ponyville sign and saw it’s leg and assumed it need help. So, like a good pony i brought it here.” She says gesturing towards your broken leg. “So, can you help it Nurse Redheart?” She said with a look of concern. “Well, Derpy I’m not sure if any of the doctors would be able to help after all we don’t know what this thing is.” She says before the doctor behind her inches his way into the conversation.
“You know I bet Twilight Sparkle might be able to help. She is an expert on strange creatures like this. We can set up a makeshift gurney and have Twilight look at it.” He says as several nurses lift you onto a table with a few pillows on it and a blanket. Derpy leaves the hospital and rushes over to Twilight's Library. She stands on the doormat and bangs on the door. After a few minutes Twilight comes to the door and opens it.
“Oh hello Derpy what can I do for you?” She asks as Derpy tells her everything that happened. Twilight quickly grabs her saddlebag and rushes out the door with Spike and her saddlebags. As they gallopped to the hospital Twilight asked more questions to which Derpy answered to the best of her abilities. After a while Twilight walks into the hospital and hey show her to your room. Twilight uses her horn to study your body as depry and Nurse Redheart wait patiently for a response.
“Well, ladies looks to me like Derpy found a human and he is badly injured. Not only is his leg broken but he has some internal bleeding and a few cracked ribs.” Twilight says setting her saddlebags on a nearby bench.
“That's what a human looks like?” Nurse redheart asks in a surprised tone. “The mythology books make them look so much scarier.” She continues to say as she looks at you through the doorway.
“Some humans are as scary as the books describe them however during my study I found nothing that contributed to the myth. After all unlike the myth this human is not covered in hair except for the face, not to mention this one lacks claws and sharp teeth.” twilight says pulling out a book and shows the two mares the comparison. I can make you a list of everything needed to take care of it.” She continues to say as she makes a list with her quill.
“Do humans have genders like us?’ Derp asks as she walks over to the side of your bed.
“Well, Derp a human's gender can be defined in many ways. Upon study I discovered that this is a human male.” Twilight says handing the list to Nurse Redheart. Derpy i want you to help take care of him after all you found him so he is your responsibility. Now, if you’ll excuse me i have to get going and investigate how he got here.” Twilight says as Derpy waves her goodbye. As Derpy stands next to you she helps the doctors hook you up to the EKG machine as they disinfect your body as surgeons do their best to stop the internal bleeding. After a few hours everything is over and they bandage up your body and your head. They put your leg in a cast and suspend it in the air with a sling.
The doctors and nurses leave the room as Derpy sits idly by waiting for you to wake up. After a few more hours of silence Derpy’s eyes begin to feel heavy as she slowly dozes off. After closing her eyes for a few seconds she hears your bed stir. Excited her eyes shoot open as she stands near you as your eyes open. Your vision blurs for a few seconds before sharpening. You look around the room and notice you're in a hospital. “Oh thank god it was all just a dream.” You say to yourself as you look at your bandaged body. “Wait why am i bandaged up all i died was pass out from food poisoning.” You say again before looking to right and seeing Derpy next to you smiling softly.
“What dream are you talking about Mister?” She says as your skin goes white in terror. You look out the window and see small pastel colored horses walking around town. You look out your door and see more of them working the desk or in the waiting room. “Hey mister are you ok? Do you need me to get the nurse?” Derpy asks concerned for her new friend. You begin to scream and freak out as the EKG machine tracks your increasing heart rate. “Whoa calm down there buddy everything is gonna be ok.” Derpy says as she tries to calm you down. “Damnit think Derpy what would Twilight do?” She thinks to herself as she tries to keep her cool. “Oh I got it.” She says slapping you with her hoof. “Calm the hell down for Celestia's sake.” She says as you surprisingly shake your head and calm down a little bit. “Ok maybe that was more rainbow dash than Twilight.” Derpy says with a smile as you spit up a little blood into a nearby napkin.
“Looks like ya hit him a little to hard Derpy.” Twilight says walking into the room. Humans are not as durable as us ponies so we have to try and be gentle with them.” She goes onto say walking over to your side. “Hello there allow me to introduce myself. My name is Twilight Sparkle and I help take care of Ponyville in service to our ruler Princess Celestia.” She says taking a seat on a nearby bench.
“Where am I?” You say once you calm down completely. “Last time I checked ponies don’t talk or work at hospitals.” You say still slightly dazed from your impact with the ground.
“Well that's the thing you're no longer in your world. Somehow you got thrown into ours and if you want to go home I’m gonna need as much info as possible.” Twilight says as you recount the events leading up to your crash landing. Meanwhile, Derpy sits on the other side of you listening to every word you say like a filly being told a bedtime story. You put your hand over your head before finishing your lengthy story.
“I see so you were sucked in through your cellphone?” Twilight says putting down her quill and rolling up the scroll. “Spike send this to the Princess at once.” She says as her loyal instant blows fire onto the scroll sending it off.
“What were you writing down?” You ask taking a sip from the nearby cup of water. “How long am I gonna be stuck here?” You continue to ask checking your watch. Twilight shrugs and stands up walking over to the water fountain.
“I don’t know I’m awaiting a response from the Princess on what the next step is. In the meantime I suggest you thank Derpy. If it wasn’t for her you would’ve been laying there for days and with how bad your internal bleeding was you wouldn’t of survived more than a week.” Twilight says as she leaves the room and out the front door of the hospital.
“Hi there mister human, how are you?” Derpy says with an excited smile as you quickly notice that one of her eyes is looking the other way while the other is staring directly at you.
“I’m in pain and confused but are you ok?” You ask generally concerned for the mare rather noticeable disability.
“Never been better why do you ask?” She says sitting on the bed next to your good leg.
“Well, I couldn’t help notice that one of yours is well...ummm.” You say trailing off thinking of a way to ask her about her eye without being an insensitive prick.
“Oh this old thing It’s been that way since I was born but thank you for acting so concerned.” She says with a warm smile. You smile back and adjust your pillows so you can sit up more in the bed.
“Well, I have an odd feeling I’m gonna be here a while so Derpy tell me about yourself.” You say as she rubs her chin with her hoof. You sit there and listen to her as she goes on about her life and what she does for a living. As she continues her story you find yourself oddly entranced by her the life she lived seemed so stressful yet somehow she remained positive through it all. She finishes off her story as she hops down onto the floor and stretches.
“My that was quite the story Derpy. How do you manage to remain so positive all the time. Surely you picked on because of your eye.” You say softly as birds chirp outside your window.
“Oh they still do some ponies are bullies just to be bullies but that doesn’t matter. I’m still a strong willed mare that can do her job despite having a crippling disability.” She says sticking her head up and smiling in a confident pose.
“So, does being the towns mailmare generate a lot of money?” You ask now fully invested in wanting to know everything about this iron willed mare.
“Oh definitely. In one paycheck I can pay off my bills and still have enough bits to last me until next payday.” She says in a confident tone before she hops back onto the bed. “So, tell me what was your life like?” She says leaning on your leg and looking at you eyes wide and full of sparkles. You chuckle at the childlike antics that made derpy who she is. You start from as far back in your as life as you can remember and begin your story. As you chronicle all your memories Derpy pays attention never once breaking concentration. For once in your life it felt good having someone actually listen to your life story.
Time passed as it quickly got late as Nurse Redheart walked into your room. You were just finishing your story as Derpy yawned and stretched. “Derpy visiting hours are over it’s time for you to go home.” The nurse says as she turns off the light in your room and escorts Derpy out as she waves goodbye to you and frowns. For the first time in your life you felt your heart sink as if you were a little kid who just got his puppy ripped away from him. You sigh deeply as you lay awake trying to fall asleep. “What’s going on with me?” You think to yourself as you recall todays events. “I’m in a alien world ran by highly sentient talking horses. Why am I’m not having a total mental breakdown? Maybe the meds and the conclusion are impairing my grip on things. No that makes no sense.” You say chastising yourself before rolling over.
“Dear lord please tell me I’m not actually falling for that blonde pony that I was talking with.” You think to yourself before brushing it off. “Nah that's impossible i could never have feelings of any kind towards a horse. I’m sure once my head heals everything will be back to normal and I can go home. You think to yourself before you finally doze off and fall into a deep sleep. You wake up the next morning to see Twilight, Derpy, and a Gigantic horse with a long flowing pastel mane and a tiara on her head.
“Morning derp, good morning Twilight, and good morning to you...ummm.” You say prompting her to laugh and give you her name.
“My name is Princess Celestia and it’s to meet you.” She says with a warm smile. “Twilight has informed me of your predicament to which I’m happy to say there is a way to send you home. However, it will take roughly six months to set up. Once it’s finished then you will be able to return to the very place where you were first teleported from.” She says as you breathe a sigh of relief.
“Six months is a long time. Where am I gonna stay and how am I gonna survive? I know nothing about your world.” You say in distress as Derp’s face lights up with joy.
“Princess celestia he can stay with me. I have a little room on the back of my house I use for storage he can stay there.” She says begging the princess causing her to giggle.
“It’s ok Depry I see no problem with him staying with you so long as he behaves himself and visits Twilight twice a week so she can teach him about our world.” She says looking at you as you smile.
“Well, in that case Princess celestia I accept these terms.” You say as derpy hug you tightly.
“Yay I’m gonna have a roommate.” She screams as she hugs you tighter. I’m gonna go and get your room set up right now.” She continues to say before dashing out of the hospital.
“Well, that was...something.” You say as Twilight and celestia laugh.
“My it looks someone has taken a liking to you.” The princess says before turning around and heading out the door. “Now, if you will excuse me i have some business to tend to back in Canterlot goodbye.” She says as she leaves the hospital and climbs into her chariot as it flies away.
“Twilight your smart maybe you can help figure something out.” You say to her as she takes a seat on the edge of your bed.
“Sure i’d be glad to help.” She says with a smile as you take a few seconds to figure out how to word your next question.
“OK so Derpy is the one that found me and this world is parallel to mine except it's inhabited by ponies, and in my world equines are subservient to humans and having feelings towards them is seen as a major taboo.” You say as Twilight nods her head in agreement. “Well, after me and Derpy swapped stories of each other's lives last night something...weird sparked inside me. I don’t know what this feeling is love, lust, compassion, or sympathy I don’t know but whatever it is its taking a toll on me.” You continue to say as Twilight begins to show more interest in your issue.
“Effecting you in what ways?” She says pulling out a quill and a scroll as she jots down everything you just told her.
“Well, last night Derpy looked so upset because she had to go home and couldn’t visit me anymore that night. Well, itWell, as she left it felt like my heart was sinking down into my stomach and i could barely get any sleep last night.” You say as you drink some water.
“Sounds to me like you are developing feelings for Derpy. I’ll have to do some tests to figure out what exactly these feelings are. In the meantime I wouldn’t think to much of it.” Twilight says with a smile as the nurse bring in your discharge papers.
“Here ya go sir. Just sign here and you're free to go.” The nurse says handing you a pen. Taking the pen you sign your name and stand up and stretch. Your body wobbles as lean against the wall. The nurse gets a wheelchair as you and Twilight head down the street and head for Derpy’s house.
“You won't have to be in the chair for too long I’ll have my friend rarity make you a can or something to help.” Twilight says as she gives you smile as you thank her and she trots off. Derpy opens the door and gives a big hug before wheeling you into the house. The interior was massive for a four foot five pony this house was surprisingly large. The door ways were at least over five feet. To you that was normal but to the ponies of Ponyville that was considered tall. Derpy shows you to your room and shows you your bed and dresser. You stand up out of the chair causing Derpy to eye you up and down as her mouth hung open in astonishment. You lay on the bed and get comfortable as Derpy puts your wheelchair in the corner as she climbs on the bed with you.
“So, what do you wanna do?” Derpy says as she lays on her back relaxing as you rub your chin and think of something to do. “How about we play a game. After all I’m confined to the house until Twilight can have her friend Rarity finish my cane.” You say pointing toward your leg.
“Is it gonna be permanent?” Derpy asks in a worried tone as she rubs the cast.
“No not at all It should heal up within a month or two.” You say smiling as Derpy keeps her frown. “What's wrong derpy?” You say putting your hand on her hoof.
“Well, it’s just this isn’t permanent and within six months you leave and I’ll be all alone again.” She says as a tear runs down her cheek.
“Alone i don’t understand back in the hospital you said everyone liked you except for a few bullies.” You say as you rub her hoof comforting her.
“I...I lied the truth is no one likes me. They either make fun of my eye or make fun of how much of a scatterbrain I am. I just said that because I didn’t want you to think of me the same way everyone else does.” She said as give her a hug causing her to gasp and lean into your shoulder.
“Derpy I’m not gonna judge you. Your eye makes you unique and I frankly enjoy your scatterbrain it's cute.” You say as derpy leans back her cheeks pink with blush. “Forget what everyone says you're perfect just the way you are. You already have one of the highest paying jobs Ponyville despite your disability not to mention you have a heart of gold. I mean here I was a human lost in an unknown world and severly hurt and you came to my aid. So, from the bottom of my heart Thank you Derpy for being yourself.” You say as she cries tears of joy and clung to you tightly.
“You're the first person that's been this nice to me thank you.” She says as she hug you tighter before falling asleep in your arms. You give off a warm smile as you soon fall asleep as well. The next morning you wake to the smell of waffles. You climb into your chair and wheel yourself into the kitchen. You are greeted to the sight of Derpy, Twilight, and Rarity at the table. Derpy turns to and smiles before sliding you a plate.
“Human this is Rarity and she has been generous enough to make you a cane free of charge. Twilight said as she handed you a long wooden cane adorned with jewels and a purple and gold finish.
“Dear Celestia this is gorgeous.” You say standing up and using it. “Thank you Rarity this is some very beautiful artisanship.” You say as Rarity give of a flattered giggle.
“Of course it is darling everything I do is perfect.” She says flipping her mane with her hoof.
“Indeed”. You say folding up the chair and putting it in Derpy's closet and walk around the house using the cane. “Hey Derpy look now we can start leaving the house to do things. You say as she smiles at you and giggles.
“That's great now come over here and eat.” She says as you walk over and take your seat. As the morning went one the four of you conversed about Equestria in an attempt to educate you on the world some more. As breakfast concluded you left he house with Rarity and Twilight to continue your lesson.
Time passes as you complete Twilight's training and became a master of equestrian history and magic. During the weeks it took to learn you and Derpy became closer. You found yourself spending more and more time in each other's arms. Slowly but surely your objections towards your feelings soon disappeared and after a heartfelt dinner you and Derpy began dating. Derpy was everything to you she was there for you through thick and then. You even came to her aid several times when she would come home from work crying hysterically. Your leg had made a full recovery but you found the very idea of throwing away the can Rarity made a downright insult to the hard working fashionista. You quickly turn the corner and walk through your front door.
The interior was dark with candles and rose petals scattered everywhere. Following the trail of flowers you are greeted by the sight of Derpy laying on her side wearing dark red stockings and a look of lust in her eyes. The candle light casted a soft light on her frame that seemed to capture every curve from her neck down to her plot. Your mouth hung open at the beautiful sight before you.

“Are you sure this is what you want?”Celestia asks looking at you. “After this portal closes there will be no way for you to go back home.” She goes on to say before you give her a confident grin.
“Celestia close that portal I have a mare to go be with.” You say as the portal closes and you see your world disappear before your eyes causing you to smile one last time.
“Very well then I hereby grant you permanent residence here in Ponyville.” Celestia says as you bow to her one last time as everyone cheers. You run out of the castle and dart home and knock on the door. After a few minutes Derpy opens the door and gasps the minute she sees you.
“I decided to stay here with you. Now, you’ll never be alone again.” You say as Derpy tackles you to the ground kissing you deeply. “There is on other thing I wanted to ask you Derpy.” You say as you whisper in her ear. “Will you marry me?” You ask as Derpy nearly explodes from excitement.
“Yes, yes, yes, and a thousand times yes.” She says as you two share one more kiss. Your life on earth is now just a distant memory from your past. Now, was the time to begin building your future with Derpy and you were determined to do anything to make that happen.
