//-------------------------------------------------------// You Sleep With A Stallion ONE Time... -by Needling Haystacks- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// ...And They Think You're Engaged Or Something //-------------------------------------------------------// Author's Note There's nothing explicit in here, but it does acknowledge both sex in general and certain aspects thereof. I would like to disclaimer that I don't think this is at all in line with canon, and I typically don't interpret Rainbow Dash this way myself. It was an amusing idea I had, though, and it fits well with one somewhat common fan interpretation of Rainbow Dash. ...And They Think You're Engaged Or Something Once back in ponyville after parting ways with Fluttershy's parents and brother, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy stopped by Fluttershy's cottage for tea and something of a debriefing. "All's well that ends well, I guess," Rainbow Dash said, taking a cup straight, "Assuming he doesn't just hang around your parents' place forever." "Oh I'm sure he won't this time," Fluttershy said, stirring some sugar into hers and passing a cube down to Angel. "I am sorry my parents thought you have a crush on him. I don't know where they got that idea." Rainbow Dash sighed. "Yeah, it's not like I've been encouraging him." Fluttershy nodded in agreement. "I mean," Rainbow Dash continued, "You have sex with a stallion ONE time and they think you're engaged or something." "I know I... wait, what?" Fluttershy said, taking a second to process that last statement. Rainbow Dash looked quizzically at her friend. "I thought I told you about that?" "Um, no, I'm pretty sure I would remember!" Fluttershy said, just a little bit of an edge creeping into her voice as her big sister instincts kicked in. Rainbow Dash shrugged, not really taking notice of this. "Well, back senior year of high school, I had just gotten through a messy break-up with Swift Wind. You remember him, right?" Fluttershy nodded. "Oh yes, you were very upset. I remember you were crying in the filly's room." Rainbow Dash swallowed nervous. "My allergies were kicking up right then!" she said defensively. "I never knew you had allergies," Fluttershy said. "ANYway," Rainbow Dash said, hoping to curtail further discussion on the issue, "I was drinking some hard cider one night..." "Rainbow Dash!" Fluttershy said reproachfully. "I know, I know," Rainbow Dash said dismissively, "Anyway, I was down in the old hang-out. You know, that garden with the old shed where the lock never worked? "Oh yes, I loved that garden!" Fluttershy said. "Well, no one else was around, and I guess Zephyr was looking for you or something," Rainbow Dash continued. "I think I remember that. I had been down on the ground that day and was a little late getting back," Fluttershy said, "I was so concerned that I was making my family worry!" "Right, probably," Rainbow Dash nodded without thinking. This time she did notice Fluttershy's fretting. "Oh, I'm sure they weren't that worried," she said. That did not help. Fluttershy started to tear up. "No I mean... Oh buck up! It was years ago!" Rainbow Dash said, "I just meant you could take care of yourself." Fluttershy sniffed and nodded. "So my allergies may have been acting up again, and he might have noticed. Well I thought to myself, 'I'll show Swift Wind I don't need him!', and I told Zephyr we could wait there for you and you'd probably be by..." Rainbow Dash continued. Fluttershy shifted uncomfortably at this point. "I mean I knew how he felt about me, so he really didn't take much convincing," Rainbow Dash continued. "Ok! I get the idea!" Fluttershy said, cutting Rainbow Dash off. She paused, visibly uncomfortable. "Were you at least... safe?" "Oh, I made him use a condom," Rainbow Dash said. "Why did you have...?" Fluttershy started to say. "Oh, I started carrying one soon after I started dating Swift Wind," Rainbow Dash said with a shrug, "You know how it is." "Umm... not really, no," Fluttershy said with a hint of a blush. Rainbow Dash took note of this, but decided to save THAT conversation for later. "Eh, well, honestly the whole thing could best be described as 'forgettable'," Rainbow Dash said. Then after a pause she added, "Though don't tell him I said that. I'd rather not hurt him more." Fluttershy thought for a moment. "I suppose that does explain a lot," she said, "But what... I mean how did you... umm..." "Let him down?" Rainbow Dash supplied, "Well not long after he was... done... I suggested you had probably made it back home and he should head back there before he was missed. After that..." At this point she rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly. "After that I miiiight have pretended not to remember." Fluttershy gave a little gasp. "Rainbow Dash! How could you?" Rainbow Dash sighed. "I know, I know, it was wrong to toy with his feelings like that, " she said, "And I DID eventually admit that I remembered, like, a year later. That time I did say it was a mistake and it wouldn't work, but I think maybe he thought I was talking more about the sex than the two of us in general? I don't know." "I see..." Fluttershy said carefully, "And that's why he's been so persistent..." Rainbow Dash nodded. "And I doubt he told your parents directly, but that may have contributed to them thinking I have a thing for him." "And is that also why you're not more firm with him?" Fluttershy asked, "You feel bad about... toying with him?" Rainbow Dash colored a little at this one. "Um... yeah." Fluttershy set down her tea and took a deep breath. Rainbow Dash figited in her seat. Too late, she recalled why she had never told Fluttershy before. What would one of her oldest friends think of her now? "I'm glad you told me," Fluttershy said, not meeting Rainbow Dash's eyes. Rainbow Dash nervously set down her teacup and moved back from the table. "Look, if you want me to leave for awhile..." she began. "No," Fluttershy said, shaking her head. She looked up into Rainbow Dash's eyes. "I really don't think you're doing Zephyr any favors by not telling him how you feel about all this, though," she said, "He's been looking back at you so long he hasn't been able to move on and find someone else." "I know," Rainbow Dash said miserably, "I even thought about talking to him about it on the way to the Wonderbolts Academy but it might just reopen old wounds, you know? I mean I don't like him that way... heck, I don't really like him in any way. No offense." Rainbow Dash looked up hastily at this last bit, but Fluttershy just nodded. "Oh, I understand," she said, "He's my brother and I love him dearly, but he can be a bit... much." She chuckled lightly at this and Rainbow Dash joined in. "But," Fluttershy continued, and at this Rainbow Dash stopped laughing, "If he hits on you again, maybe use the chance to tell him why he's bucking the wrong tree? I know these things can be hard, believe me, but I think it might be best." Rainbow Dash grimaced. "Yeah, I suppose. If I have to put up with too much of his flirting, I might just unload on him one of these days," she said. "Good," Fluttershy said with a nod. "Now, I believe we were having tea?"
