The Outcasts
Chapter One: Thunder
Load Full StoryNext ChapterZombies... Why did it have to be zombies? Why not a horde of beautiful bunnies? Well not Angel Bunnies, that might actually be worse than my situation at this current time. I sighed hearing the horrific sounds that the grotesque balls of flesh and anger, with a small hunger for my flesh. This happened overnight. In an instant. It was a mistake they said, it was an accident they pleaded, bullsh-t I said. It was the B4857 virus. A virus that should have been contained under strict supervision. Now here I am, in this Hellish situation because of their Dumb Muffiness and their screw ups. Heck they are all dead, this happened when the Princessess, now Goddesses, were still alive. I gritted my teeth slamming my head against a bookcase. Shutting my eyes tight I wanted to assess my surroundings but I didn't want to take my eyes off the sad excuse for a door and the barricade that I jury rigged together. I moved my eyes slowly around assessing as much as I could in so little time.
It was Autumn that was given. I knew that I was in a shack in the middle of what used to be a lush forest. Now the forest floor was caked in dry dirt and blood. Now for the shack that I was in. There was a rotting oak ceiling above me, it protested with each gust of wind that had passed overhead. The floor was a sickly grey concrete with mold and mildew all over it. There was one corner that I noticed that had a redish-brown hue, rotting blood. I whipped my head back when I heard more groaning and gargling from the zombies. Celestia save me, this is not how I want to die! I thought to myself. I have never in all my years seen a horde this large in size. The most amazing fact is, they weren't trying to eat each other. They were solely focused on me and my flesh. I groaned standing back on my haunches, crouching low to the ground. I slowly stepped back taking a deep breath of mildew and mold. I internally slapped myself in the head as my body reflexively gagged. Oh come on you shoot flipping zombies! In the flipping head. Flipping zombies, in the flipping head! I slammed my hoof on the ground snorting through my nose. I gripped the Steel Apple Grenade in my hoof ready, poised to grab the pin held in place at the top. I heaved breath into my lungs, my hoof now, shaking my heart racing a bit. Why in the Hell was I shaking, I have done this over a million times. Just grab the damn pin and pull damn you! I grunted trying to move the grenade closer to my mouth. The fear that was slowly gripping my body its cool hands wrapping around my breast the body resting on my back. My legs began to shake violently. I slammed my hoof back on the concrete floor once again. My eyes grew wide, I gritted my teeth shutting my eyes tight. I couldn't think straight. I knew that I needed to scream to get their attention, pull the pin, and duck and cover. But I can't. I knew what I needed to do, but damn Celestia and Luna to the Netherworld and call me a pineapple. Why in the hell can I not do this. I screamed at myself internally, damn you foot move, cut this shit out and move! This is no time for funny business just pull the pin and scream damn you!
"YOU WANT ME? COME AND GET ME YOU CANNIBALISTIC NINNY MUFFINS!" What the actual Hell just came out of my mouth. 'You cannibalistic Ninny Muffins?' The hell is that? It didn't matter what it was to the zombies they gave all their might to knock down that door no matter what. I backed up a bit. I heard a crack of glass as a sharp pain jolted up my hoof. Biting my lip I fought the urge to either scream or curse. Crash. The door and in turn the barricade came tumbling to the ground with a mighty thud. Groaning, gurgling, and some primalistic neighing. They have all gone completely mad and the smell of fresh blood from my hoof didn't help my situation in the slightest.
I waited and agonizingly long time. So long that I thought my coat and mane had turned the same grey as the concrete below me. I huffed reaching down I pulled the pin on the Steel Apple Grenade. Chucking the thing I dove behind the nearest large object I could find.
"FU-" I screamed out. My yell was cut off. My large object was a couch. A fluffy, cushy, spring couch. A couch, you have got to be kidding me! As Princess Twilight is my witness I am now classified as the dumbest stallion in all of the universe. I thought shutting my eyes tight.
Pain. Sharp, gut wrenching pain. That was all I felt, burning, searing, shooting, stabbing pain. Through my side, my left foreleg, and my right eye. Collapsing on the ground I huffed a final goodbye of this world.
I hate all four of you. I thought to the Goddesses above. My vision began to waver, well any vision that I had left in the only eye that worked now. Aching, throbbing pain, all over my body. Just let me pass out, please. Pass out or die. Please! I shut my eyes tight as the sound of more hungry zombie ponies came into my hearing radius. I sighed, every breath an agonizing jolt back into reality. Groaning I shut my eye giving one last breath before darkness began to take me.
As it did I heard the calling of other ponies. A female, I think. Gun shooting. She was yelling. Then I passed out. This is the first time I got to rest in months.
