Hardship

Do you remember the worst day of your life?

If you ask most fillies or colts you would hear lots of silly things.

Maybe it was the day their cute-cañera was ruined; maybe it was when time they’ve got an F in class, or maybe it that one time they messed up and got grounded an entire month.

But sometimes we forget that everypony, no matter how young, can experience true hardships.

Someponies would tell you about the day their grandma passed away, the day their parents got a divorce or even the day they had a really bad accident.

All those things and more have something in common. They bring a change in the ponies that experienced them.

Ponies grow up, they mature, gain insight, form or change opinions and develop a personality all based around the life they’ve had and the things they’ve experienced.  Nowhere is this most evident than in the young ones.

Those fillies and colts who are already in the midst of growing up to become mares and stallions are the most susceptible to be changed and molded by hardships.

So with all that in mind, let me tell you about the worst day of my young life. Maybe then you could understand how I grew up to be the mare I am today.
