Newcomer Gets With More Ponies
You hear a knock at the door whilst you were preparing yourself some food. You were making some kind of pie and you had to let it cook in the oven before it was ready to be eaten. Today was your day off from work which was usually the best time of the week. Not that you hated work, you actually rather enjoyed working with Rarity for multiple reasons. The only reason why you prefer not working was because the working hours were brutal and things do tend to get repetitive for you at work. But you never skipped work unless it was an emergency, and that usually paid off since it made Rarity happier which in turn made your work easier and less stressful.
Whilst you were waiting for the pie to do it's thing in the oven, you quickly rushed over to the front door and opened it. You were then greeted by a gray pony with a blond mane. Her name was Derpy Hooves and she'd already visited you a couple times. She was mainly there to deliver mail to you, even if it was mostly advertisements or leaflets to things which you were not at all interested in.
"Morning Derpy, I'm guessing that you have some more mail for me"
She smiled and nodded, she then buried her muzzle into her carrier bag and came out with a mouthful of letters which already looked like more trash. It was always so weird to you how often a same designed letter gets given to you, its almost like the ponies behind these letters were just trying to piss you off. You grab the letters and thank Derpy for the mail. She blushes and giggles, quite odd that she would blush at that. She continues to stare at you until she snaps out of her apparent trance.
"Oh right, I better get going. See you soon Anon" She said
She then waved and went off to which you waved back. She was definitely a weird pony but far from bad. You knew about her eye problems but you really didn't give any shits about that, she was 100% normal in your eyes. You were cut off from your thoughts by a sudden alarm going off. You close the door and hurry up to the kitchen, open the oven and see a fully burnt pie sitting there, this was obviously not meant to be your day.
After making yet another pie and then eating it, you sit down on your couch and take a look at the letters which Derpy gave to you earlier. The first letter was an advertisement leaflet for a spa. The rest of the letters were pretty much the same thing, just advertisements and leaflets which held no interest in your eyes. You could have swore that you even talked to Derpy about this, but that didn't seem to fix anything.
You start to think back to the very first time you ever talked to Derpy. She was sitting on a cloud, crying to herself. After you confronted her about it, you two talked for what felt like hours, talking about her past and her feelings. Very soon after, you two became close friends. It was then where she could feel that you cared for her. From then on you two started to see eachother more and more whenever she has mail to give to you, but the strange part was that it was only her giving out the mail to your house, not some other mail carrier pony. The letters were always the same letters each time. It would always look the same in every way. The font, the company which the advertisement was from, the number. You even once tried to call the number given to you, but there was only silence on the other side which struck to you as strange.
An idea clicked in your head. What if Derpy was making these letters up herself? You wouldn't know why she would do that and you weren't even 100% sure if this was the case but it was the best guess you had. If this was true then all of this would make perfect sense, you just had to confront Derpy about this the next time she delivers to your house again.
A few days pass by and you hear another knock at the door. You get up from the couch and go answer it, it's none other than Derpy Hooves once again.
"Hi again Derpy, how are you doing?" You ask politely
"I'm just dandy thanks, and here is today's ma-" She begins to say but then you cut her off
"About that... how come the letters always seem to be the same thing? I even asked you to do something about this a month ago and I've heard no response from you about it" You voice your complaint
Derpy is wide eyed, unable to think properly and fix herself a response to your questioning.
"I umm... I have no idea why they seem the same to you. I just deliver the mail and that's it, I don't make it" Derpy says whilst shrugging
You raise an eyebrow at that response, getting the feeling that she might have something to do with it after all.
"I need you to be honest with me now, alright? Are you just making and then sending me these letters just to see me?" You flat out ask her
You notice her looking down at her hooves, looking for the right words to say. You smirk to yourself and await for her response.
"Well.. I umm" Derpy stutters, thinking of a response
You just stare at her fidgeting with her hooves. You could even say that it was kind of cute, but you tried your best to hold you best serious face in hopes of finally getting the right answer from her.
"I... I GOTTA GO!" She blurred out, turning around and flying away at a blinding speed
"WAIT!" You shout at her, but to no avail
You sigh and get back inside your house, shutting the door behind you. She definitely had something to hide and it was now your job to figure out what the hell was up with her.
A week passed and there was still no signs of Derpy after that incident. You even went out of your way to check the post office and ask them about her disappearance and they just told you that she apparently was on break. You weren't too sure about that answer but you tried to just wait it out, she might come back, you couldn't do anything right now that would benefit the situation, it was just a matter of time right now. You soon afterward started receiving mail from a different pony. It was a pegasus stallion with an orange coat and red mane. You even started receiving less spam like leaflets which did make you happy. This did however mean that it was Derpy who made them herself only to deliver them to you, the only question was... why? The new delivery pony was nice to talk to and was rather fun at times but Derpy was still lingering over your mind... you could even say that you missed her a little bit. Derpy was always fun and bubbly whenever she came over to deliver the apparently fake mail. She was one of the friendliest and innocent ponies you knew and you just wanted to finally get to the bottom of this and figure out what the hay was going on with her.
