Jack opened his eyes to see his pet timber wolf drooling on him. "crap dangit George!" he mumbled as he sat up. George wimpered, "ahhhh it's ok boy you can't help it." Jack patted the top of Georges head then Jack got on his hooves and walked out of his hut. "huh, the wind is a little off but I guess thats normal considering this is the everfree forest and all." Jack walked over to where he kept his spears,axes,armor and picked up his forged iron pike along with his iron axe and a bow with arrows . "the hunt is good today I can feel it!" he smiled as he put on his camouflage cloak that his mother made for him when he was in his adult age. "George! here boy!" he called to his companion. George got up were he was lying down and ran to Jacks side. "well once more into the breach!" and with that Jack along with his wolf ran into the forest. DEEP IN THE EVERFREE FOREST "okay boy see that rabit?" George nodded. "good, im gonna shoot it in it's foot wounding it then you go in for the kill got that?" George nodded again. Jack nocked a arrow and aimed it at the rabbits foot then with a *whoosh* the arrow went flying and hit the rabbit in the chest, blood leaked out of the rabbits chest. "dang it my aim is off today." Jack said with a sigh. "go get him boy." Jack commanded then George went to fetch the dead rabbit when suddenly he stopped and put his nose in the air. "What is it boy?" Jack asked in concern. "When you do that somthing bad is coming." Jack said loading another arrow into his bow. George let out two barks which meant changlings. "changlings? what in equestria are the doing way out here? and how close are they?" George barked once. "so there close? lets wait for them then ambush them." George whimpered. "What?" Jack asked? George barked four times. "A army are you sure?" George barked again. "A whole army this deep in the forest can only mean one thing................there marching a army to canterlot." suddenly Jack heard hoofsteps coming towards him. "quick hide!" he said as he dove into the bushes pearing through a small whole so he could see. he saw the army stop. "are you sure you know where your going?" he heard one say. "of corse I know see look." "it's upside down idiot!" "no it's not.......oh it is." "boss why dont we just fly over the forest?" "because idiot the queen wants us to have the element of surprise". "now give me the map lets see.......we need to go left." "men were going this way follow me!" and so after twenty minutes or so they left. Jack jumped out of his bush and George did the same. "this is bad realy bad.......George we need to warn the princesses." George nodded. they ran through the forest dodging thorn bushes and bug eaters untill finally they arrived at there destination. "ponyville there it is....you ready boy?" George nodded again. //-------------------------------------------------------// chapter 2: by //-------------------------------------------------------// chapter 2: by Jack was walking towards the town when he stopped and turned to his companion. "look boy......I can't take you into town with me because....let's just say there not fond of Timberwolves." George let out a sad howl. "oh it's ok boy.....hey why don't you run home and get my other saddle bag and grab some more arrows for my bow." he said. George nodded and ran back into the forest. Jack turned back to the town with a sigh. "ok....ok you can do this.....just walk through town get to the train station and then from there get to canterlot castle a warn the princess." He was just about to walk into town when a blue pegasis crashed into him. "owwwww." the stranger said as he rubbed his hoof on his head.  "oh my gosh im so sorry.......im still new to the whole having wings thing." the stranger said. "new to the whole wing thing?" Jack asked raising a eyebrow. "uummmmm it.....doesn't matter anyways I haven't seen you in town before where did you come from?" the starger asked. "from the everfree forest." Jack replied. "the everfree huh? my wife says that place is not safe." Jack rolled his eye's. "so you got a name from the everfree?" "Jack my name is Jack." "Jack I like it! my name is Jesse." "well Jesse...Im looking for the train station." "train station?.......oh yes! it's that way." Jesse pointed his hoof straight ahead. "ok thanks Jesse ill see you around, take care." "you too." Jack walked off towards the train staton it was starting to come into view. "ok almost there just keep walking." he said nervously. but why was he nervous? it's not like he should be afraid of these ponies. the sound of the train conductor saying "all aboard next stop Canterlot!!!" came into hearing distance. Jack started to galop at a fast pace. when suddenly a loud scream came from behind him, Jack turned around to see a mare with a pink mane being attacked by changings. fortunately for her Jack hade five arrows a spear and good old courage. he pulled out his bow. the other ponies gasped as the arrow flew hitting one of the changlings in the head. the others turned to the hunter. "so you think your a wise guy a?" one of the changlings said. Jack stood up on his hind hooves a pulled out a stone spear. "come get some." he replied. the changling charged at him. he countered the attack by aiming the end of the spear straight at the changlings head. the creatures skull hit the stone point making a *crack* sound. Green goo leaked from the changlings noggin. Jack pulled out the spear blood leaking from it. "Now your turn!" he shouted at the last changling who was starting to run. Jack whistled all of the sudden a certain timber wolf came out of nowhere and swallowed the creature whole then started running towards Jack. the other ponies gasped some covered there eye's. the timber wolf stopped infront of Jack dropping a arrow pack and some pig meat. Jack smiled "good boy........but where did you get pork from?" George lowered his head. "George???.....where did you get this?" George responded with some weird  low growles followed by a bark. "SOMEPONY'S FARM!!! ARE YOU CRAZY!!!????" Jack shouted waving his hooves in the air. George looked up at his master with sad green glowing eyes. "ok....ok boy you can't help it your a carnivorous pig eating wolf it's in your blood." Jack said sighing. he turned around to see a crowed staring at him in amazement. he felt somthing touch his shoulder a turned to see a yellow mare with a pink mane standing there. "ummm thank you for saving me from those horrible monsters they could have hurt the baby." Jack could barely hear her but he got the message his ears were trained to hear the quitest of sounds. "your welcome mrs" He replied. George let out a bark causing the yellow mare to jump. she was shivering next to George. "ohhh don't worry about him he may be a timber wolf but he's a big soffty.....and yes you can pet him." Fluttershy reached her hoof out to pet him but the result ended in George licking the life out of Fluttershy . "I think she's had enough George." said Jack after a while. George stopped and backed away from Fluttershy. "Sorry about that." Jack said to Fluttershy who was picking pieces of wood out of her mane. "oh no worries he was just being friendly." Fluttershy replied with a small smile. "Would you like to come over to dinner tonight?" asked Fluttershy. Jack thought about it for a second. "sure why not." he finally said. "that's great my husband would love to meet you..........quick question what do you like to eat?" she asked. "ummm..........I like to eat leaf cakes those were my favorite when I was little." Jack said. "got it." she said and flew off. Jack stood there gazing up at the sky "why would changlings come here and attack a random pony I thought they wanted the element of surprise.......oh well it dose not matter now I have a dinner to go to." he whispered to himself as he walked through ponyville. "wait......SHE NEVER SAID WHERE HER HOUSE IS!!!!"
