A Rainbow Scratched in Vinyl

I woke up to cello music coming from down the hall. "Gah, too early for cello!" I shouted, as I rolled out of bed, falling face-first onto the floor.

"It's 5:45!" I hear Octavia shout at me over her music, "You're supposed to be up anyway!"

This snaps me out of my usual morning groginess as I check the time, confirming my suspicions... I'm going to be late.... again... "I'm late again?!" I shout at myself, gathering a few records, "I so need a new alarm clock!"

"Or maybe you shouldn't party all night!" Tavs shouts back, clearly annoyed, "Then maybe you'll get up on time for once!"
I ignore her, and run out the door, hoping I can make it in time for work. -- End of chapter 1
