LEADING FLIGHT
Ponyville,Afternoon.

"Don't give up on me now,wings!" The purple mare grumbled as she picked herself up from the ground and started to flap them as hard as she could and she stumbled a bit,she flapped them raising herself, she growled waving her arms trying to keep balance.

The blue mare kicked and pushed clouds away dashing through them speeding,she flew like it was nothing,considering she flew her whole life.She bounced on a cloud and it spreaded into smaller pieces vanishing away,she laughed and she dahsed towards another cloud whipping it with her tail,

Suddenly,she skidded a stop with all her hooves and she stayed flying in one place flapping her wings,she sees the purple mare,she saw how sweaty her face dripped as she carried herself on her wings,Rainbow put a hoof to her chin watching, she smiled surprised to see the princess out of the castle where the library of towers of books waited apon her,she seemed she wanted to learn how to fly now..Rainbow just took a break and flapped her wings softly lowering herself onto the ground,she sat down and watched the pony land on a cloud

"YES!" Twilight yelled in victory. Her face dropped onto the cloud and her tail whipped.Rainbow laughed and smiled watching still,"Okay." Twilight finally said and got up and whips her wings once,"I'm going to fly.I'm getting the hang of it,there's nothing I can't do.." She told herself for encouragement.Rainbow rolled her eyes and nodded understanding that sentence.

Twilight readied herself and grinned,she backed up and then finally leaped off the cloud,Rainbow's wings flew open in worry,until she sees Twilight flapping her wings hovering,the cyan pony wiped her forehead in relief,her cheeks flushed due to how much worry she just exposed,she closes her wings and looks back at the hovering pony.Twilight slowly started to flap and go forward,she smiled big with a huge grin spreading up her cheek,

Rainbow smiled big,not noticing how the purple pony was wobbly,"GO TWILIGHT!" She yells throwing a hoof up smiling big,Twilight yelped in surprise, her wings stopped flapping,"Oh no." She exclaims,Twilight flaps again catching herself.she inhaled bigly,Rainbow exhaled in relief,she watched as Twilight looked down at her

"RAINBOW!" Twilight exclaims as Rainbow flies up in front of her smiling,"You scared me!" She glared at the daredevil.

"Sorry." The cyan pony rubs her head brushing the rainbow mane.

"Were you watching me the whole time?" The purple pony furrows her eyebrows softly. Rainbow dash blushed,but to play it off she shrugged

"Just watching the newbie play it out as if she knew how to fly two feet from the ground." The rainbow maned grinned,Twilight growls and rolls her eyes,

"You know if you're going to make fun of me,just go cloud busting or show off or something, I don't need a downer." The purple mare flapped and stood on the cloud,The cyan pony frowns secretly to hear she doesn't want her here.

"Um,I'm just joking.." Rainbow muttered, Twilight eyes her flapping one wing."..Yeah,so.I saw that you need help? I'm the best flyer for the job,princess!" The Pegasus pointed to herself grinning big,avoiding red cheeks.

Twilight's tail whipped once.She turned a bit so she was looking at Rainbow,"Sounds intriguing Dash,it does.but really,I think I have to manage only having two wings." She replied,Rainbow's grin was fading

She was about to frown,but she scoffed,"Yeah I get it,no biggie." She swiped a hoof down,even though rejection ate her alive inside..She soon said,"So! If you're actually getting so better you don't need my help..Show me what ya got so far!" She smiled at her friend that froze.

Twilight eyed her wings flapping them once and then looked to Rainbow,she was smiling raising an eyebrow.The princess breathed and gulped,"Suree." She gritted her teeth.Rainbow nodded

"Awesome! Let me get a seat!" The cyan pony flew away,Twilight gulped and stared at the cloud she was standing on,she looked up and Rainbow was pushing a cloud in front of her,she sat on it."Ready."

"O-okay.." Twilight said smiling shakily back at her smiling friend,she got up and turned around,she breathed and opened her wings..

20 Minutes Later.

The Pegasus watched as the princess crashed Into another tree,that's been happening ever since she opened her wings and jumped off that cloud.

But the cyan pony didn't look annoyed or bored out by her friend,she just smiled looking how hard she's trying,and its cute to see her so focused.Rainbow didn't mind if she said that out loud or in her mind,she knew it was weird,but she didn't go to that thought.She just kept her eyes on her friend that couldn't stop crashing.

Twilight then spinned into a cloud,she groaned in frustration.she raised herself and bumped into a tree branch,she flew again and she then couldn't stop herself,she flapped her wings scared,Rainbow chuckled and stood up on the cloud,she jumped off and sped to her purple friend.Twilight almost crashed into another cloud until blue arms stopped her.She opened her eyes and looked to see Rainbow smiling at her keeping her up,Twilight exhaled in relief

"Thanks Rainbow.." Twilight smiled, Rainbow smiled back and nodded.

"Of course.I got a little tired of seeing you crash anyways,heh,heh." The pegasus chuckles grinning a bit,but Twilight sighed,which made Rainbow's ear lower a slight.

"Yeah, me too.." The princess exhales,Rainbow frowned

"No I didn't mean to offend-"

"Its alright." The alicorn stated as she sat on the cloud she almost killed.Rainbow lowered next to her flying."Laughing from afar was enough.." She muttered and played her head down curled up,her back facing the other.wings locked close,she snuggled into the cloud.

Rainbow saw as her ears were down,she felt awful for putting her friend's spirit down,she sighed,"Twilight.." She started,"I'm sorry I said that.But I wasn't laughing at you at all.I knew you were having a hard time and I don't laugh at that,I know you're determined to fly,and I respect that,you're my friend and I care about you, I wouldn't laugh at you if I knew how much you wanted to do something." The Pegasus whispered, she watched as the alicorn soon raised her head to look at her,the Pegasus smiled honestly.

"...Okay.." Twilight whispered. Rainbow Dash smiled big,"Thanks,Dash." She smiles back.

"Anytime Twilight." She says as Twilight sits up,ears perked up."Now you've showed me something." She nods,Twilight looked confused,"That you DO need help, and I'm here for you,Twi!" The pegasus patted her head,Twilight sighed

"But I'm not good at all using these things.!" She points to her wings,"What's the point?" She asks looking down poking out a lip.Rainbow chuckles

"That's because you're trying do hard on you own,you need someone right next to you to show you the stuff." Rainbow explains,Twilight looked down.

"You don't have to Rainbow,I'm okay." The alicorn obviously lies.Rainbow shakes her head,and sits in the cloud next to her

"Nope.You're my friend,Twi.And you're going to fly." Rainbow smiles,Twilight sees that she's not going to let this go

"..Fine,you got me." Twilight sighs getting up,Rainbow smiled big.

"Great!" The Pegasus circled the cloud in a flash,she looked at the princess,"Okay.its not a hard lesson its quite simple." She moftions her hoof.Twilight nods and opens her wings,"Remember you're struggling because you think your wings carry you mostly,but no,you have to use your weight to even it out,and don't think about it too much,straining your wings can sprain them,don't do that neither.so if you do it right." The pegasus sped away and back,"You'll get right into flight!" She squeed grinning big.

Twilight stared and thought about it."Is it like science?" She asks,Rainbow chuckled

"No,Twilight." The Pegasus answered.Twilight nodded

"Okay..I'll give whatever you said a try.." Twilight muttered,Rainbow hummed and hovered next to the cloud waiting for her,Twilight breathed opening her wings again,she huffs and looks a Rainbow Dash,the cyan pony just nodded,She looks forward and gulped,she stepped back and then off the cloud she jumped, she flapped her wings,her tongue sticking out a bit,she wobbled a bit,she fell but her wings caught her,

"Come on Twi," Rainbow exclaims,Twilight breaths and starts to use her weight with the wing power,she breathed in big,she slowly opened an eye seeing how she's hovering, her wings flapping,"That's it! Yeah!" The rainbow maned pony smiled big flying next to her,Twilight flew down and stopped, and then up and spinned,She gasps,

"Oh my gosh!" She exclaims and smiles at Rainbow,who smiled back,"I CAN FLY I CAN FLY I CAN FLY!" She exclaims happily as she does three loops in the air,Rainbow chuckles,"YAY!" She sped,but stopped when she was wobbly,"Oh,well I'm not ready for that yet." She rubbed her head,Rainbow nodded.She looked back at Rainbow and grinned huge though,"THANK YOU!" She yells as she rushes to her friend and circles her,

"You're welcome!" The cyan pony says back,she says as she sees purple up and down and around her,"You're really ha-PPY-AH!" She yells when the alicorn tackles her onto a cloud,they stumble and twilight becomes on top of her,Rainbow looks surprised,

"Thanks Dash!" The purple mare laughs,Rainbow couldn't help but laugh a bit back and she nodded

"Sure thing,Twilight." She says.They looked at eacother just smiling, Rainbow looked into the purple eyes that caught her attention every time she looked to this mare,Twilight looked back into the violet ones..suddenly all they knew was their heads seemed to attract to one another slowly, Rainbows heart sped up wildly,but suddenly,the warmth dissapeared when the princess leaned up and a hoof to the cyan's nose.

"TAG,YOU'RE IT!" The alicorn laughs and jumped off the cloud and flew away.Rainbow sat up and her heart just went to normal pace instantly,she bites her lip looking down,her cheeks pink.But she didn't want to make her dissapointment obvious so she got up and grinned.

"NOT SO FAST,PRINCESS!" The pegasus laughs and raced after the laughing alicorn.

Time passed by where they went on playing tag,Twilight hid from the running the running pegasus. Rainbow stopped and looked around,she looked confused huffing.Twilight crept up,Rainbow's ear twitched,she looked back and Twilight attacked her from behind,"GOTCHA!"

Rainbow screamed in surprise,they rolled and spinned and stumbled until they finally stopped, Rainbow groaned and looked up to the grinning princess,"Darn it.." Twilight laughed

"I'm just good." Twilight smirked,Rainbow smirked back and flicked her hoof at her horn.

"Yeah,Yeah." She made a face that made Twilight laugh.She laughed too.the laughing soon died down and they giggled,Twilight looked at her as Rainbow looked back,silent.feeling her heart beat crank up to stare into the purple eyes once again,time passed,

Rainbow couldn't stand the wait,her heart swelled in anticipation.Twilight was about to get up and her chance was fading,so it was now or never.

Twilight was about to ease herself up,until suddenly,Rainbow leaned her head up and their lips met in a soft way,Twilight gasped shocked but mostly confused,she couldn't believe what was happening at all,she was stunned to the warmness in her chest and stomach,and the feeling its giving her with the blue mare's lips on hers.It was unusual for her to feel like this towards her best friend but..she couldn't help the tight knot in her stomach.

Twilight slowly kissed the mare back,Rainbow smiled into it but focused on the kiss,the butterflies in her stomach,the heat in her chest and fire that screamed in her brain went all into this passionate kiss,She couldn't believe this,she was too happy that the princess returned it,her content led to an arm around the alicorn's neck,her wings flapping once every few seconds,Twilight's hovering over them curling next to the Pegasus,the cloud making it even better under the cyan pony. The kiss slowed more and soon enough,Twilight slowly pulled away.

Rainbow breathed softly eyes still closed as she tried to gain her thoughts back.Her eyes slowly opening to look into Twilight's,the alicorn was staring at her.She gulped silently, she looked for an emotion,until Twilight finally just smiled.Rainbow closed her eyes in relief,she opened them again and smiled back.

"..What was that about?" The princess asks, The pegasus bites on her lip as they sit up,she picks her hoof at the cloud,Twilight blinks at her smirking a slight at the flustered pegasus,

"W..well.." Rainbow starts,"T..Twilight,I don't know what it is..but..I can't help myself,every time I look at you,my chest gets this weird feeling,the way you light up when you talk about books and how much of a nerd you get,its so adorable,I just can't help but smile.Eveytime were close,butterflies invade my stomach.your eyes I could stare at all day..I don't know what it is,I just want to be with you,I don't know that feeling when you just can't be away from someone and you get so nervous around them.." Rainbow says shyly with pink cheeks.Twilight just giggles her cheeks are pinkish as well.she scoots closer to Rainbow.

"..I love you." She whispers, Rainbows wings flap once,She looks at the alicorn,a smile building on her face.

"Y..yeah..that." The pegasus says shyly."I..I love you too.." She smiles looking down then to Twilight,the princess smiles bigger.Rainbow goes and hugs her,she hugs back,their tail wrapping around each other,Twilight puts a wing around her as the cyan pony scoots closer into her coat.

"Thanks for the flying lesson.." The princess smiles.

"Really was nothing actually." Rainbow replies, Twilight shrugs.they stay wrapped in each other..

"..Twilight..?"

"Yes Rainbow?" The alicorn responds, they look at each other

"...Should I be worried about how tall you're getting?" The daredevil asks furrowing an eyebrow,Twilight laughs and rolls her eyes wrapping a wing around her again and pulling her close.Rainbow smiled.
