The Strange Case of Dr. Aura and Miss Night
Common Friends
Previous ChapterA cool breeze brushed against Silver Bullet's face as she walked through Canterlot. She turned on the sidewalk and began walking down a dark pathway that led to a small, rundown house. She walked down the path just as a pony arrived at the house. "Crimson Night, I presume?" Silver Bullet said slyly. The pony stood completely still as Silver Bullet drew nearer. The mare took a deep breath, "Yes," she answered coolly, "that is my name." Silver smiled.
"I thought so," she said. Crimson Night was still turned away from her, but Silver could still see her colorful mane blowing in the breeze. "How did you know me?" Crimson asked curiously. Silver Bullet restrained herself from mentioning the will and instead said, "May I ask a favor?"
"Of course!" Crimson said, "What is it?"
"Show me your face." Silver Bullet could see that Crimson was debating it for a moment before turning to face her. Crimson Night was an extremely tall mare with a stained burgundy coat. She was in fact, a unicorn. Her eyes were a glowing green color and wet mascara dripped from the bottom of her eyes. She was wearing a baggy black cloak and a large top hat that covered most of her hair. The two stared at each other for a short moment before Crimson turned away from Silver. "Now," said Crimson, "how did you know me?"
"Common friends," Silver Bullet replied.
"Common friends," Crimson echoed, "like who?"
"Moonlit Aura."
"Moonlit Aura? Of course she would drag somepony like you into this." Crimson Night said as she pushed the key into the key hole. She then opened the door and sprinted inside. "Wait!" Silver Bullet called uselessly after her. She sighed. New questions burst into her head as she walked through Canterlot. Questions that could only be answered by one pony.
