Sunrise was a average height mare with darkish red coat and faded orange mane, she had yellow eyes. She walked with caution in every step until she reached the granite counter, which was basically a large block of pure granite. “H..H..Hello?” Sunrise said over the counter, but the buzzing of equipment from behind the counter and down a flight of stairs probably drowned out her request for the Forensic Pathologist to stop his disturbing work and come out here to chat, she hoped the pathologist was kind friendly and would be not what was expected of such a creepy job. The reason the place was so ran down, which the mayor said when Sunrise asked where the morgue was, because of a simple, very understandable reason, the Pathologist went to sleep in a open body locker on his second day on the job, and the mayor came by to see how he was doing, when she saw him, she thought someone killed him and laid him on the large open body cabinet, but he woke up from her squeak of horror, he rose only his torso, and twisted his head slowly to face her, his eyes was bloodshot from exhaustion, but it only took one second and eye contact with the pathologist for the mayor to turn around and take off, bolting out of the morgue, before he could say anything. And i think anyone out there would of done the same thing, and she noticed there was a bell on the counter, and since Sunrise was so scared to speak again, she rung it 3 times, the buzzing of equipment stopped, and footsteps could be heard, it took probably 16 footsteps before the stallion reached the flight of stairs, as he came up, Sunrise froze in complete shock of the complete horror that was the pathologist, the stallion was a little taller than herself, his coat was dark red, almost maroon, and he had grey eyes and a matching color mane, the grey mane wasn't from age, it was natural, but then she seen his lab coat, dark red splashes all over it, she wished that was juice or jam stains, but she knew that was unlikely, but when he seen he had a guest, he cocked his head a little, putting on a surprised expression, then gently shaking it off, he took off his coat, lazily putting it on a table next too the flight of stairs, and walked to the counter. “Hey there, i'm Moonlit, the Forensic Pathologist at this” he stopped to get his words where they wouldn't frighten the mare that looked like she could just piss herself any second “at this….fine establishment” even he slightly cringed over his phrasing “what could i do for you?” he finished “Um...I..I have been requested by Princess Luna to get you, a autopsy in Canterlot has all the Forensic Pathologists stumped, and since you are the best, according to Luna, Forensic Pathologist around, she requests your services” she finished with a nervous fake smile “OK, i'll come, but i won't hurt you, so please stop acting like imma perform an autopsy on you right in this room” when he finished he put on a friendly smile, in any other place, that smile would of cheered up the saddest ponies around, but in this run down horror house, it made it slightly creepier “Just let me pack my things” “Wait.., you live in here?” She seemed to back up a little over the thought of being able to sleep in such a place. “Yes, actually, if i was to go right, i would be at the door of my room, don't worry, downstairs is the true creepy part of this place” when he finished the mare yelled a question that she said in disgust “When i came in you was working, so that means a autopsy, and leaving this second would mean that a corpse would be left out to rot!!” Moonlit didn't seem amused about the statement the mare made and he replied harshly “I was looking at a sample of oil i found on the ground, i found out it was simply lube for my equipment that must of leaked, that's the benefit of working here, you can use the equipment anyway you wanted” he finished with a huff and went to work packing his stuff. Chapter 3/ The Truth Comes Out a Little at a TimeMoonlit Memories Sunrise felt guilty because she lied to the dark red stallion again and she bottled it up for a good twenty minutes before she spoke up again, this time to tell the honest truth, no matter how heartbreaking the situation this stallion was put into from his brother’s will, she had to do this, even she was ordered not to. “I’m sorry” she began “I lied, i was told by Princess Celestia and Luna not to tell you the reason we are summoning you to Canterlot, but if you want, you can wait and hear it from the Princesses themselves” She was going to be in some deep trouble with the Princesses if she continued, but she couldn’t let him wait and hate her for lying when they got to the city, and Moonlit was never patient, and he didn’t like Celestia, he had no trouble with Luna, but if Celestia was in the room, he wasn’t stepping foot in there, and he asked her to continue, and she did. “You see, it’s about your brother, Captain Lead Wing” “Solar Skies” Moonlit interrupted with a bet of anger in his voice “His name was Solar Skies, i don't know what he called himself, but his actual name was Solar Skies.” The Civil Servant continuing from the interruption “He..” she was cut off again. “I swear, if he is getting remarried, imma just have to help him find a new wife next time he ends up divorced for the third time, he has a energetic souls that could probably compete with Pinkie Pies any day of the week!” the two chuckled, but the mare quickly remembered the situation and continued. “No, him and his crew was returning to port after battling some pirates, and one caught him off guard, and sunk his ship twenty miles off the coast, no survivors of his ship, including himself” Sunrise forced back tears as Moonlit’s face drawn a blank, he was in shock, one of the best captains, his own brother, sunk by a single pirate ship?, this couldn't be true! “He managed to win against three pirate ships at once and you are telling me that a single ship sunk him!?!?” he was in denial “There is no way he died from that!” “He had only a few cannonballs and 1 barrel of gunpowder left, the pirate was fully stocked, he ran out of things to use, and the pirates gave his ship hell!” Sunrise finished her quick explanation, and turned and looked at Moonlit’s expression, the gravity of the news made him land the zeppelin, and take time to come to terms off with his brothers death off the side of the road, and he returned to the zeppelin and took off again, he thanked the mare for being honest, even though she would probably lose her job for it, and he made only one request to the mare “When we get there, tell Celestia to leave the room, she will understand why i would make such a rude request.” Sunrise stared at him, wondering what Celestia had done to make him so mad at her, but her trail of thought was cut off be the enraged stallion. “Actually, tell her to stay, and to keep the guards from intervening with this matter, i have a bone to pick with her, and if she is lucky, i won't take her bones” the mare was now worried and scared once again by this stallion, he wasn't going to go easy on anything that got in his way in Canterlot, so those snubs better not make him mad, or there might be a new body or two in the Canterlot Morgue. Chapter 4/ The Charge of a Mad Man It took Moonlit and Sunrise 2 hours to get from Ponyville to Canterlot, and when they landed the zeppelin on the outskirts of Canterlot, it was locked and no one would be messing with it, due to the fact zeppelins was know for being used by Border Guards, and even though this one was old, it was still respected, and it could still be armed, and no one wants to mess with someone that had access to such a vehicle. Moonlit started toward the castle with a deadly, ice cold, spine shivering look in his eyes, he looked like a murderer, and it didn't help that a civil servant was following him as well, it was a good hour before the charge of this maniac ground to a halt with a familiar voice "Hey, Moonlit, long time no see!" Moonlit stopped with a dumbfounded look on his face and looked at the white unicorn followed by a grey earth pony trotting toward him, he lost the maniac look, and quickly put on a genuine smile and turned around. "Hey, Vinyl, how have you been?" "I'm good, you?" Vinyl said happily, Moonlit chuckled. "Good, but apparently not as good as you~" Moonlit looked at the grey mare following Vinyl with a mischevious grin, Vinyl simply laughed. "And you seem to be doing good to~" Vinyl looked at Sunrise with the same look Moonlit had looking at Octavia. "You got the wrong idea, I don't do Canterlot mares, let alone those who serve in the government" Vinyl gave him a confused smile. "You was a Border Guard Gunship Captain!" "Exactly" Both Vinyl and Moonlit laughed "Oh, I haven't introduced my marefriend~" Vinyl looked at Octavia "This is Octavia, she is a classical musician" Moonlit cut off Vinyl "My brother always liked music, he probably would be asking you a million questions right now, he would have loved to met you!" Octavia blushed, but Vinyl was confused at Moonlit's phrasing "You mean 'He would love to meet you', right?" Vinyl said " Are you here to see him too? I heard his ship was docking today, that's why we are here" "Vinyl, he was K.I.A" Moonlit began trying to make the words come out "He apparently was on his way back to port from dealing with some pirates, and got flanked by one, he was low on ammo and gunpowder and got sunk, no survivors" as he finished, Vinyl was about to break down, and Octavia was comforting her, Moonlit wasn't done speaking "and I'm here at the princesses request for something when I got the news from Sunrise over there" he looked at the civil servant. "I know, he was like a little brother you, and was mine,and I will contact you when I start arranging the funeral, till then, could you accompany me" Sunrise and Octavia looked at each other dumbfounded on why he would request such a thing. "You afraid you will lose it and need someone to hold you back like in Trottingham" she looked at him with a smile, she was trying to forget about the death of what was almost a brother to her. "I'm not afraid, I KNOW I will lose it, and that's the last place I wanna lose it in" he looked at the castle, Vinyl nodded looked at Octavia, who had no idea what she has been drug into, but agreed to go. "Octavia," Moonlit said getting her attention "If Vinyl tries to calm me, stop me, or anything, DONT stops her, she knows what I Have done, what I WILL do, and how to stop it, no matter if it is beating me to the ground, don't stop it, it's for the best, I have killed many times, in and around this country as Trottingham trash, and as a Border Guard, I lose control quickly, and she is the only one present that can stop it" Octavia and Sunrise were shocked, this "friend" was HAS killed in the country, they weren't going to press the topic, though, they thought it would have been best not to check the closet for skeletons, Vinyl reassured them and the charge toward the castle continued with 3 mares in tow. Chapter 5/ Breaking NewsAbout two miles of walking, Sunrise slowed and fell behind the three other ponies that she accumulated on her "simple" task, but to her luck, Vinyl saw this and slowed to get beside Sunrise and engaged in conversation, Moonlit soon started a with Octavia about how Vinyl has been, there more that regrettable and unforgettable past, and somewhere in Vinyl's and Sunrise's conversation, Vinyl mentioned the day Moonlit resigned from the Border Guard, and Sunrise did her homework on who she was to help/retrieve for the Royal Family, and there was a very vague report on Moonlit's resignation. "How do you know about that conversation? the report is classified and doesn't even say anything about that conversation, it just says he resigned, and walked off!" Sunrise was worried that this mare was spying on Moonlit, but that was silly, they regarded each other as friends, so how did she know? "I went with Moonlit to that party, Solar said it was important and to go, but never said why, but things went....South, quickly!" It was a little after noon when Celestia and Solar got word that his brother's carriage was spotted a few minutes out from the port Sunrise was departing from. "I hope he understands, I told him you invited me and said I could bring two others!" Solar said, he then nervously chuckled. "Of course, he will, He knows that will fight for his country, he is the 5th highest ranking officer in the Border Guard, he will support your decision to join and captain this vessel, I'm sure of it!" Celestia reassured him with a smile, Moonlit seemed to be calm about everything, but his reason for joining was haunting her, "I joined so my brother and friends won't have too, my brother is too innocent to be in the Guard, he would either die or change for the worse, same with my friends" She hoped he only said that but everything he spoke was the truth, so she was a little nervous about this, recruiting his brother might have been a mistake, but she can't back out now. When Moonlit's carriage arrived, there was a mare with him, and Solar always teased him and Vinyl, but Moonlit was the only one that knew that her barn doors didn't 'swing' that way, but Moonlit said that she was too much like a sister to him, but she was actually more like a brother, but that didn't matter. "So, you brought the Misses~" Solar said, implying that they were in a relationship as obvious as possible. "No, I brought Sis," moonlit said, correcting his brother "She ain't blood, but sometimes it ain't about blood, it is how much you can rely on her" "If you keep that joke going, you might be taking a swim," Vinyl said with a joking smile, but the joke is how funny that would be at this party. "And you haven't told us why we are here, and I don't like not knowing," Vinyl said with seriousness in her voice. "About that...." Solar began, looking away "I got a letter asking to join the Royal Navy from Celestia here" he looked at Celestia who was still smiling "And I decided I was going to take that offer, seeing how much you and other guards enjoy being in the Guard" he looked at Moonlit, and Moonlit was taking the news differently that what Solar thought, and how Celestia hoped he wouldn't "Brother of mine, you clearly don' understand why I joined, and how PISSED I am" Moonlit had a calm, low voice, but he was furious, he had his eyes narrowed and his teeth clenched "I don't ENJOY the guard, I ENJOYED seeing you, ma and pa, the gang, and Vinyl here not knowing what the Guard is like, that's why I joined" he turned to Celestia, who's smile was turning into concern "Isn't it, Celestia, I know you read and remembered those Recruitment Papers I had filled out" "I thought-" Celestia began, but Moonlit wouldn't have it, royal or not "STOP. STOP RIGHT THERE" Moonlit growled, trying to keep the rest of the crew's family, and reporters to see what was surely something that was going to end badly "I will take this BETRAYAL" Moonlit made it clear how he felt, but he wasn't done "As a 'We don't need you', so I got news of my own, My Dear Little Brother, and Royal Backstabber" Celestia knew that this wasn't good, and she braced for what was coming. "Celestia, He is going to die in the Royal Navy, but that's his choice, but when he does, we will have a 'chat'" Celestia was regretting this poor choice she had made "but here is the real news" Celestia, Solar and Vinyl braced for Moonlit's news, Vinyl knew Moonlit, and she knew this was going to end badly, so did, Celestia and Sunrise "I, Captain Moonlit of the Sky Fire, Resign from my service, for said service has been put in vain by Cpt. Solar Wind, I won't stand around and watch my brother change from experience in battle, So there, I quit, and brother, I don't care if you are getting married again, DON'T contact me, the next time we meet, you will be in a Mahogany box." with that, be trotted off, leaving three jaws on the ground from his reaction to the turn of events. Chapter 6/ The End is here"So, he was a Border Guard" Sunrise mumbled to herself, remembering the zeppelin she rode in, it reminded her of a scout zeppelin used by the Border Guard, but with a larger turbine. "Yea, one of the badasses in the guard, made his rank in four years, most can barely get to sergeant in that time. The guard took a toll on him, though. Before the guard, it was Friday night parties, getting hammered, and waking up completely fucked up with a hangover. After it was having a drink to wash away the terrible things he seen, and lashing out at anyone who talked bad about the guard, or the people he knew, bar fights and sending people to the hospital. He moved away from Trottingham to get away from it all, never knew where he moved to, I thought he went to Appleloosa." Vinyl seemed not to have kept in contact with him "He lives in Ponyville, runs the Ponyville Morgue," Sunrise said, confused, Vinyl lived in the same town as Moonlit, how did she not know? "He does!?, man, I wonder why I didn't hear about a party greeting a new pony from Pinkie Pie?" "In his time in the guard, a pack of manti lions attacked his squad, it was when he was a grunt soldier, he and 3 others were ones only to survive, they were having a birthday party for the squad leader, the leader was one of the causalities." Sunrise coldly stated. "THAT IS TERRIBLE!" Vinyl was shocked about the event that her friend apparently witnessed. Moonlit and Octavia was in a conversation about Vinyl's past, and the stupid stuff they did, and the way of Trottingham trash, as he put it. "So, how did a classy Canterlot mare fall in love with a Trottingham thug?, I don't come off as 'that' type of mare" Vinyl was blushing and nervous about the waters that their conversation was going. "What do you mean by 'that' kind of mare!?" Octavia protested "And 'Trottingham Thug', Vinyl never mentioned a lot about her past from her past" Moonlit was now looking at Vinyl, neither wanted this conversation to pop up, but it slipped. "Well...uhmmm" Moonlit started "Let's just drop this topic, eh?" Octavia was not dropping it, she was in the need to know about Vinyl's past. "No, let's keep talking about that part of Vinyl being a thug" now Moonlit and Vinyl was choking on the topic at hand, their past wasn't the cleanest. "Well, we were in the bad part of town and fell into a shitty crowd, let's just say we did a few things that weren't very nice" Octavia wasn't letting Moonlit stop with this conversation, and she said as much "We mugged, drank, and smoked some very illegal herbs, and ran from the police every time we got spotted, let's just say during my time in the guard, the Princess owed me a favor, and I got us clean slates" Moonlit and Vinyl nervously smiled. Octavia wasn't pleased, but she was willing to forgive her lover's sins, and the continued to the castle, it was a good hour of friendly conversation before they reached the gates of the Castle, the Guards out front lost composer at the sight of the former Captain, the two high-ranking ones looked in disbelief and trotted toward the former captain and smiled. "I'll be, is that Cpt. Moonlit coming back to the Guard?" "No, this is a VIP that has an appointment with Celestia over the death of Cpt. Solar Wind" Moonlit said, but the three apparently knew each other. "I am sorry for your loss, and you know he changed his name, right?" The guard said correcting Moonlit. "I am aware, but a legal document won't make me forget the name of being 'lil brother, and I thought Border Guards stay at the border, I didn't know the border was pushed back to the gates of the castle" Moonlit, teasing the guard. "Captain, I changed over to the Royal Guard after you resigned, it just wasn't the same without the Captain that made the Hellhole actually fun" The guard was smiling wide now before he added "Cpt. Horny Head" the three guards started laughing so hard that they almost lost balance and fell. "Man, Deputy Cpt. Chicken Wings, I forgot that name and Private Potato, how have y'all been?" "I got married, three foals, Potato over here got married and divorced, that skank took every bit he had, and it's Sgt. Chicken wings and Lt. Potato to you, Cpt. Horny" they all laughed, but Sunrise was getting a little impatient, and at the sight of her, the two active guards shot to attention, leaving Vinyl, Octavia and Moonlit confused. "Lt., Sgt.," she stated with an unimpressed tone "You are on duty, and I expected you two at your post and stand there, not chatting with your former superior, I'm your boss now so get back the work" Sunrise wasn't happy with the two, but Moonlit was still confused. "Rank" he turned to Sunrise and asked, she was confused at first, but she caught on. "Commander Sunrise at your attention, Sir" She stated with a slight grin. "Either you are treating me like a VIP, or you think a Captain is a higher rank than you" he wasn't sure about that 'sir' part. "Four hours before you resigned, paperwork to make you a General was completed, so technically, you outrank me" she said. "Well, that's some shit, so if I told you to run 1,000 laps around this castle, you would?" he asked, and sunrise deflated. "Yes, but please don't, that would kill me, and I haven't done anything bad" she answered. "Technically, you interrupted a superior's conversation, but, I'll let that slide" he winked at her. "If you don't mind, can we-" Sunrise started but got interrupted "Wait, I resigned, so I can't do anything, so why did you say I could still order you?" Moonlit was confused "Did you never get the letter? Celestia wanted you back, so she informed you, but your rank was held until you answered the letter, but you are still recognized as such" she answered the question, making Moonlit ponder "General Moonlit, man, I need to be put into the Lunar Guard to make that sound right" Moonlit joked. They continued onwards to get to the throne room, when they got there, Celestia and Luna was in there, but the door was barely opened, so Moonlit told everyone to stop and be quiet, he wanted to make an entrance that would be funny to him and Vinyl, but he wasn't sure about the other two, but that didn't matter, he turned his plot to the door, he then gave the large marble door a hefty buck, and it went flying open he entered with a sarcastic smile on his muzzle, the guards inside and the two princesses were surprised by the intrusion, and moonlit was going to milk this rank, just to get back to Celestia. He walked in and ordered the Guards into a line in front of him, he was going to enjoy this "As you might know, I am former Cpt. Moonlit, but Celestia made me General Moonlit, and I ain't impressed with y'all sacks of lazy guard trash, step forward if you were on duty when the changling attack happened" all of the guards stepped forward, Celestia wasn't impressed with the General's actions, but she wanted to see what he was planning. "Well, no shit" Moonlit began " So, Y'all was damned near defeated by a surprise attack, which you are trained to counter, is that right you sacks of shit!?!" Moonlit raised his voice, and Celestia knew where this might be heading, but she wasn't stopping Moonlit, she was interested with this surprise. "While I know it was rough, HOW THE LIVING FUCK DID A SIMPLE ATTACK CATCH YOU OFF GUARD!!" he was going to deal with this problem right here, no one fucks around in his guard. everyone was quiet. "That was a question, and if you don't answer it, you will wake up in a hospital bed from internal bleeding, ANSWER ME!!!". Luna was briefed on this stallion, but he was more of a hardass on his guards than the reports said. "General, If we could intervene with your conversation with thy's guards, why are they lined up?" Luna asked, not catching onto the reason he was pissed. "Because, they are apparently under trained, so here is what is going to happen" He was still smiling but it goes full on with his last sentence. "Beginning now, all the Border Guards from this year's class will become Royal Guards, and all Royal Guards will train to be better, at the Border Guard's expenses that it, and they will never make my guard look like little shit heads during an attack ever again' he turned to the guards "Get all guards that were here on duty during the Canterlot Invasion and ship them to Border Guard training grounds, bring the Border Guards that are graduating here, and I will make the combat training in the guards more deadly and efficient so that shit won't happen again" he looked at the sad Sunrise and took a moment to think "But, one of y'all get Commander Sunrise's file for me, I'll take a personal look at it, same with Lt. Potato and Sgt. Chicken Wing" a pegasus went to get the three guard's file. "The rest of y'all heard me, get going, roundup and ship all those guards for more training. DISMISSED!" the rest of the guards took off at incredible speed, he approached the Princesses, who had mixed feelings about the General's orders, but they would trust him. "So, how long has it been, I hope if you don't mind me calling you Captain?" Celestia asked "I would prefer General, and could we move this to the Royal Conference Room, we all could sit there and discuss our situation" Moonlit smiled after correcting Celestia, Sunrise turned and started walking away, but Moonlit wasn't done with her. "Commander, I would appreciate it if you accompanied me for a little longer" he said with a hint of friendliness in his voice "Yes, sir" Sunrise wasn't going to argue, but Moonlit was acting if a plan was blooming, and that could be good or bad for her, but she had no choice in the General's question, he would have kept insisting. "Good, well, let us go" He lead the way, the two princesses was behind him, and behind them was Sunrise, Vinyl, and Octavia. When they got settled in the room, he asked a guard for some whiskey on the rocks, a martini for Octavia, a glass of vodka for Vinyl, White wine for Celestia and red wine for Luna. Once everyone had their drinks Moonlit began the conversation. "So, I was right, wasn't I Celestia?" he said, but Celestia and Luna were confused. "Whatever do you mean, General?" Celestia asked "I said he was going to die in the guard, and here we are, but I will forgive you for backstabbing me on that one, because I know he had a will, and I want to see it, I am afraid that he left everything to one of his past wives, and I can't allow that" Moonlit stated "About that, he left everything to you, but since you cut contact with him, you never got a different set of news," Celestia said, nodding to Luna who left, leaving the five in the room. "And what news would that be, Tia," Moonlit said with an interest in his voice. "What news-" Moonlit was cut off by an unfamiliar voice, it sounded like a filly from here in Canterlot. "Are you my Uncle?" the filly called from behind Moonlit, he stopped and looked behind his chair, the filly had a white coat and a mane that was light green on the left and dark green on the right, she was a pegasus, she defiantly looked like his brother, but he wasn't convinced. "And whom may I have the honor of meeting, Miss-" Moonlit stopped to get a name "My name is Solar Light" "Well, it sounds like a name that he would come up with," Moonlit said "Is your father Solar Wind?" "Yes" she said, smiling that she won't be orphaned if this is her uncle. "May you come over here?" Moonlit said with a smile. she trotted over and hopped up onto the chair Moonlit looked uneasy, then the fully curled up right below his chest, and between his fore legs and yawned, everyone but the confused Uncle smiled at the cuteness, and before he said anything, the filly fell asleep. "When was the last time she slept?" Moonlit asked Luna. "A moon ago, before she got the news" Luna answered, Moonlit nodded and turned toward Vinyl and Octavia. "looks like you two are aunts,how does that feel?" The two mares thought about it for a few seconds. "Why do I feel old?" Vinyl said, making everyone laugh Moonlit turned to Celestia "Look, I'm not going to hold a grudge, but don't fuck with me, I don't like being made a fool of" he said, Celestia nodded. "Now, you will get his money put on your account, and what of his possessions?" Celestia asked "Send them to Ponyville, I have a house I never used, it's an old ranch that I let a family in Ponyville use for cows, I think it's the Apple Family?" Moonlit said "She is the Element of Honesty if you didn't know, and all business will be sent to Twilight's Castle, so you will meet the others that know Applejack" Celestia said "But, how did you know that he died?, I told her not to tell you." "I forced her, I don't like liars, so I told her to tell me the truth, or I crash the zeppelin into the ground, and I got suspicious when she said LUNA sent for me when she probably knew nothing of me other than what you told her, and while we are on that topic, I need a replacement for the Ponyville Morgue" "WHAT?!?" Octavia yelled "You worked at the morgue!?" "Yea, No one dies in Ponyville apparently, so I got a job there, it was peaceful" Moonlit said. Then the pegasus that he sent to retrieve the files arrived "Thank you, dismissed" he said, then began cross referencing the three files "O.K, these three won't need extra training, they apparently kicked and fought the whole time, and saved quite a few, also, Sunrise, I'm Promoting you to be my right-hand mare, if you wish to relocate to Ponyville, I will pay for the expenses for a place for you to stay" "Please, you said you owned a ranch" Sunrise questioned "Yes, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, kitchen, living room, and a ton of land" Moonlit answered "Could I move in? if that ain't a bother, I wouldn't want to trouble you with living expenses" Sunrise asked "why not, the more the merrier as they," he said "And Vinyl, if you dare make it sound like I know you will, I will not forgive you" everyone laughed. Soon after, the five left the castle and started for Ponyville, Solar Light sat in Sunrise's lap as Moonlit flew the zeppelin, and Octavia and Vinyl caught a train since there was no room in the zeppelin for them. Chapter 2/ Led ZeppelinMoonlit Memories When Moonlit was done packing, Sunrise told him about the carriage, so they went to it, but instead of getting in, he told the driver that they won't need his service, but Moonlit still paid him in full, plus a tip of 100 bits, that kind of money would of made anyone’s day, and he turned and told Sunrise to follow, though she turned and told him that was there only way to get to canterlot without walking, since he was a unicorn, and she was a earth pony, but he explained something that she didn't even want to question. “I have a zeppelin that is about as fast as a pegasus, and can fit 2 ponies plus some cargo space” Moonlit said as they walked into a pasture. “You keep a high dollar zeppelin in a pasture!?!?” Sunrise said, suddenly feeling like this stallion had no economical sense whatsoever. “No one messes with it, not even the cows” he said reassuring his companion on this trip ”...hey?” “What is it?” Sunrise said surprised, a stallion that would scared foals, actually everyone, was trying to make conversation, she thought, this is gonna be i little more interesting than her normal errands she runs for the princesses. “Why are you trying to get me to Canterlot again?” “B...Because, there is a corpse that other doctors can't seem to find the cause of death of, and it was definitely a murder, but they need an autopsy from the best to know what killed him, and how it was used” she said, DAMN, she thought, that lie was obvious. Even though Moonlit knew it was a lie, he was curious on what is truly needed of him. They reached the zeppelin and got in, and took off and was at least 2 minutes since take off for Moonlit to speak again. “Here is the deal” he began in an aggressive tone “I don't like lies so, if you don't tell me the real reason we are goin to Canterlot, i crash this zeppelin into the ground, and we die, do you understand?” She was shaken, and even to make sure she was scared, he was smiling a psychotic smile. “Why do you need me?” Moonlit said, with the same tone as before “I don't know!!” she said, and it was obvious that was a lie, so moonlit nosedived the zeppelin after turning the engines to minimum “TELL ME AND I WILL PULL UP!!!” he shouted at her “OK OK OK, THEY WANT YOU TO DO SURGERY ON A VERY POWERFUL MEMBER OF THE GOVERNMENT” she yelled back, while balling her eyes out. He gave the engine fuul power, and pulled up and then he asked if that was so hard, she looked at him and nodded
Chapter 1/ The stage is set“H..Hello, Moonlit, you here?” Sunrise nervously asked at in the doorway of the silent, run down, creepy Ponyville Morgue. Sunrise was a average height mare with darkish red coat and faded orange mane, she had yellow eyes. She walked with caution in every step until she reached the granite counter, which was basically a large block of pure granite. “H..H..Hello?” Sunrise said over the counter, but the buzzing of equipment from behind the counter and down a flight of stairs probably drowned out her request for the Forensic Pathologist to stop his disturbing work and come out here to chat, she hoped the pathologist was kind friendly and would be not what was expected of such a creepy job. The reason the place was so ran down, which the mayor said when Sunrise asked where the morgue was, because of a simple, very understandable reason, the Pathologist went to sleep in a open body locker on his second day on the job, and the mayor came by to see how he was doing, when she saw him, she thought someone killed him and laid him on the large open body cabinet, but he woke up from her squeak of horror, he rose only his torso, and twisted his head slowly to face her, his eyes was bloodshot from exhaustion, but it only took one second and eye contact with the pathologist for the mayor to turn around and take off, bolting out of the morgue, before he could say anything. And i think anyone out there would of done the same thing, and she noticed there was a bell on the counter, and since Sunrise was so scared to speak again, she rung it 3 times, the buzzing of equipment stopped, and footsteps could be heard, it took probably 16 footsteps before the stallion reached the flight of stairs, as he came up, Sunrise froze in complete shock of the complete horror that was the pathologist, the stallion was a little taller than herself, his coat was dark red, almost maroon, and he had grey eyes and a matching color mane, the grey mane wasn't from age, it was natural, but then she seen his lab coat, dark red splashes all over it, she wished that was juice or jam stains, but she knew that was unlikely, but when he seen he had a guest, he cocked his head a little, putting on a surprised expression, then gently shaking it off, he took off his coat, lazily putting it on a table next too the flight of stairs, and walked to the counter. “Hey there, i'm Moonlit, the Forensic Pathologist at this” he stopped to get his words where they wouldn't frighten the mare that looked like she could just piss herself any second “at this….fine establishment” even he slightly cringed over his phrasing “what could i do for you?” he finished “Um...I..I have been requested by Princess Luna to get you, a autopsy in Canterlot has all the Forensic Pathologists stumped, and since you are the best, according to Luna, Forensic Pathologist around, she requests your services” she finished with a nervous fake smile “OK, i'll come, but i won't hurt you, so please stop acting like imma perform an autopsy on you right in this room” when he finished he put on a friendly smile, in any other place, that smile would of cheered up the saddest ponies around, but in this run down horror house, it made it slightly creepier “Just let me pack my things” “Wait.., you live in here?” She seemed to back up a little over the thought of being able to sleep in such a place. “Yes, actually, if i was to go right, i would be at the door of my room, don't worry, downstairs is the true creepy part of this place” when he finished the mare yelled a question that she said in disgust “When i came in you was working, so that means a autopsy, and leaving this second would mean that a corpse would be left out to rot!!” Moonlit didn't seem amused about the statement the mare made and he replied harshly “I was looking at a sample of oil i found on the ground, i found out it was simply lube for my equipment that must of leaked, that's the benefit of working here, you can use the equipment anyway you wanted” he finished with a huff and went to work packing his stuff.
Chapter 3/ The Truth Comes Out a Little at a TimeMoonlit Memories Sunrise felt guilty because she lied to the dark red stallion again and she bottled it up for a good twenty minutes before she spoke up again, this time to tell the honest truth, no matter how heartbreaking the situation this stallion was put into from his brother’s will, she had to do this, even she was ordered not to. “I’m sorry” she began “I lied, i was told by Princess Celestia and Luna not to tell you the reason we are summoning you to Canterlot, but if you want, you can wait and hear it from the Princesses themselves” She was going to be in some deep trouble with the Princesses if she continued, but she couldn’t let him wait and hate her for lying when they got to the city, and Moonlit was never patient, and he didn’t like Celestia, he had no trouble with Luna, but if Celestia was in the room, he wasn’t stepping foot in there, and he asked her to continue, and she did. “You see, it’s about your brother, Captain Lead Wing” “Solar Skies” Moonlit interrupted with a bet of anger in his voice “His name was Solar Skies, i don't know what he called himself, but his actual name was Solar Skies.” The Civil Servant continuing from the interruption “He..” she was cut off again. “I swear, if he is getting remarried, imma just have to help him find a new wife next time he ends up divorced for the third time, he has a energetic souls that could probably compete with Pinkie Pies any day of the week!” the two chuckled, but the mare quickly remembered the situation and continued. “No, him and his crew was returning to port after battling some pirates, and one caught him off guard, and sunk his ship twenty miles off the coast, no survivors of his ship, including himself” Sunrise forced back tears as Moonlit’s face drawn a blank, he was in shock, one of the best captains, his own brother, sunk by a single pirate ship?, this couldn't be true! “He managed to win against three pirate ships at once and you are telling me that a single ship sunk him!?!?” he was in denial “There is no way he died from that!” “He had only a few cannonballs and 1 barrel of gunpowder left, the pirate was fully stocked, he ran out of things to use, and the pirates gave his ship hell!” Sunrise finished her quick explanation, and turned and looked at Moonlit’s expression, the gravity of the news made him land the zeppelin, and take time to come to terms off with his brothers death off the side of the road, and he returned to the zeppelin and took off again, he thanked the mare for being honest, even though she would probably lose her job for it, and he made only one request to the mare “When we get there, tell Celestia to leave the room, she will understand why i would make such a rude request.” Sunrise stared at him, wondering what Celestia had done to make him so mad at her, but her trail of thought was cut off be the enraged stallion. “Actually, tell her to stay, and to keep the guards from intervening with this matter, i have a bone to pick with her, and if she is lucky, i won't take her bones” the mare was now worried and scared once again by this stallion, he wasn't going to go easy on anything that got in his way in Canterlot, so those snubs better not make him mad, or there might be a new body or two in the Canterlot Morgue.
Chapter 4/ The Charge of a Mad Man It took Moonlit and Sunrise 2 hours to get from Ponyville to Canterlot, and when they landed the zeppelin on the outskirts of Canterlot, it was locked and no one would be messing with it, due to the fact zeppelins was know for being used by Border Guards, and even though this one was old, it was still respected, and it could still be armed, and no one wants to mess with someone that had access to such a vehicle. Moonlit started toward the castle with a deadly, ice cold, spine shivering look in his eyes, he looked like a murderer, and it didn't help that a civil servant was following him as well, it was a good hour before the charge of this maniac ground to a halt with a familiar voice "Hey, Moonlit, long time no see!" Moonlit stopped with a dumbfounded look on his face and looked at the white unicorn followed by a grey earth pony trotting toward him, he lost the maniac look, and quickly put on a genuine smile and turned around. "Hey, Vinyl, how have you been?" "I'm good, you?" Vinyl said happily, Moonlit chuckled. "Good, but apparently not as good as you~" Moonlit looked at the grey mare following Vinyl with a mischevious grin, Vinyl simply laughed. "And you seem to be doing good to~" Vinyl looked at Sunrise with the same look Moonlit had looking at Octavia. "You got the wrong idea, I don't do Canterlot mares, let alone those who serve in the government" Vinyl gave him a confused smile. "You was a Border Guard Gunship Captain!" "Exactly" Both Vinyl and Moonlit laughed "Oh, I haven't introduced my marefriend~" Vinyl looked at Octavia "This is Octavia, she is a classical musician" Moonlit cut off Vinyl "My brother always liked music, he probably would be asking you a million questions right now, he would have loved to met you!" Octavia blushed, but Vinyl was confused at Moonlit's phrasing "You mean 'He would love to meet you', right?" Vinyl said " Are you here to see him too? I heard his ship was docking today, that's why we are here" "Vinyl, he was K.I.A" Moonlit began trying to make the words come out "He apparently was on his way back to port from dealing with some pirates, and got flanked by one, he was low on ammo and gunpowder and got sunk, no survivors" as he finished, Vinyl was about to break down, and Octavia was comforting her, Moonlit wasn't done speaking "and I'm here at the princesses request for something when I got the news from Sunrise over there" he looked at the civil servant. "I know, he was like a little brother you, and was mine,and I will contact you when I start arranging the funeral, till then, could you accompany me" Sunrise and Octavia looked at each other dumbfounded on why he would request such a thing. "You afraid you will lose it and need someone to hold you back like in Trottingham" she looked at him with a smile, she was trying to forget about the death of what was almost a brother to her. "I'm not afraid, I KNOW I will lose it, and that's the last place I wanna lose it in" he looked at the castle, Vinyl nodded looked at Octavia, who had no idea what she has been drug into, but agreed to go. "Octavia," Moonlit said getting her attention "If Vinyl tries to calm me, stop me, or anything, DONT stops her, she knows what I Have done, what I WILL do, and how to stop it, no matter if it is beating me to the ground, don't stop it, it's for the best, I have killed many times, in and around this country as Trottingham trash, and as a Border Guard, I lose control quickly, and she is the only one present that can stop it" Octavia and Sunrise were shocked, this "friend" was HAS killed in the country, they weren't going to press the topic, though, they thought it would have been best not to check the closet for skeletons, Vinyl reassured them and the charge toward the castle continued with 3 mares in tow.
Chapter 5/ Breaking NewsAbout two miles of walking, Sunrise slowed and fell behind the three other ponies that she accumulated on her "simple" task, but to her luck, Vinyl saw this and slowed to get beside Sunrise and engaged in conversation, Moonlit soon started a with Octavia about how Vinyl has been, there more that regrettable and unforgettable past, and somewhere in Vinyl's and Sunrise's conversation, Vinyl mentioned the day Moonlit resigned from the Border Guard, and Sunrise did her homework on who she was to help/retrieve for the Royal Family, and there was a very vague report on Moonlit's resignation. "How do you know about that conversation? the report is classified and doesn't even say anything about that conversation, it just says he resigned, and walked off!" Sunrise was worried that this mare was spying on Moonlit, but that was silly, they regarded each other as friends, so how did she know? "I went with Moonlit to that party, Solar said it was important and to go, but never said why, but things went....South, quickly!" It was a little after noon when Celestia and Solar got word that his brother's carriage was spotted a few minutes out from the port Sunrise was departing from. "I hope he understands, I told him you invited me and said I could bring two others!" Solar said, he then nervously chuckled. "Of course, he will, He knows that will fight for his country, he is the 5th highest ranking officer in the Border Guard, he will support your decision to join and captain this vessel, I'm sure of it!" Celestia reassured him with a smile, Moonlit seemed to be calm about everything, but his reason for joining was haunting her, "I joined so my brother and friends won't have too, my brother is too innocent to be in the Guard, he would either die or change for the worse, same with my friends" She hoped he only said that but everything he spoke was the truth, so she was a little nervous about this, recruiting his brother might have been a mistake, but she can't back out now. When Moonlit's carriage arrived, there was a mare with him, and Solar always teased him and Vinyl, but Moonlit was the only one that knew that her barn doors didn't 'swing' that way, but Moonlit said that she was too much like a sister to him, but she was actually more like a brother, but that didn't matter. "So, you brought the Misses~" Solar said, implying that they were in a relationship as obvious as possible. "No, I brought Sis," moonlit said, correcting his brother "She ain't blood, but sometimes it ain't about blood, it is how much you can rely on her" "If you keep that joke going, you might be taking a swim," Vinyl said with a joking smile, but the joke is how funny that would be at this party. "And you haven't told us why we are here, and I don't like not knowing," Vinyl said with seriousness in her voice. "About that...." Solar began, looking away "I got a letter asking to join the Royal Navy from Celestia here" he looked at Celestia who was still smiling "And I decided I was going to take that offer, seeing how much you and other guards enjoy being in the Guard" he looked at Moonlit, and Moonlit was taking the news differently that what Solar thought, and how Celestia hoped he wouldn't "Brother of mine, you clearly don' understand why I joined, and how PISSED I am" Moonlit had a calm, low voice, but he was furious, he had his eyes narrowed and his teeth clenched "I don't ENJOY the guard, I ENJOYED seeing you, ma and pa, the gang, and Vinyl here not knowing what the Guard is like, that's why I joined" he turned to Celestia, who's smile was turning into concern "Isn't it, Celestia, I know you read and remembered those Recruitment Papers I had filled out" "I thought-" Celestia began, but Moonlit wouldn't have it, royal or not "STOP. STOP RIGHT THERE" Moonlit growled, trying to keep the rest of the crew's family, and reporters to see what was surely something that was going to end badly "I will take this BETRAYAL" Moonlit made it clear how he felt, but he wasn't done "As a 'We don't need you', so I got news of my own, My Dear Little Brother, and Royal Backstabber" Celestia knew that this wasn't good, and she braced for what was coming. "Celestia, He is going to die in the Royal Navy, but that's his choice, but when he does, we will have a 'chat'" Celestia was regretting this poor choice she had made "but here is the real news" Celestia, Solar and Vinyl braced for Moonlit's news, Vinyl knew Moonlit, and she knew this was going to end badly, so did, Celestia and Sunrise "I, Captain Moonlit of the Sky Fire, Resign from my service, for said service has been put in vain by Cpt. Solar Wind, I won't stand around and watch my brother change from experience in battle, So there, I quit, and brother, I don't care if you are getting married again, DON'T contact me, the next time we meet, you will be in a Mahogany box." with that, be trotted off, leaving three jaws on the ground from his reaction to the turn of events.
Chapter 6/ The End is here"So, he was a Border Guard" Sunrise mumbled to herself, remembering the zeppelin she rode in, it reminded her of a scout zeppelin used by the Border Guard, but with a larger turbine. "Yea, one of the badasses in the guard, made his rank in four years, most can barely get to sergeant in that time. The guard took a toll on him, though. Before the guard, it was Friday night parties, getting hammered, and waking up completely fucked up with a hangover. After it was having a drink to wash away the terrible things he seen, and lashing out at anyone who talked bad about the guard, or the people he knew, bar fights and sending people to the hospital. He moved away from Trottingham to get away from it all, never knew where he moved to, I thought he went to Appleloosa." Vinyl seemed not to have kept in contact with him "He lives in Ponyville, runs the Ponyville Morgue," Sunrise said, confused, Vinyl lived in the same town as Moonlit, how did she not know? "He does!?, man, I wonder why I didn't hear about a party greeting a new pony from Pinkie Pie?" "In his time in the guard, a pack of manti lions attacked his squad, it was when he was a grunt soldier, he and 3 others were ones only to survive, they were having a birthday party for the squad leader, the leader was one of the causalities." Sunrise coldly stated. "THAT IS TERRIBLE!" Vinyl was shocked about the event that her friend apparently witnessed. Moonlit and Octavia was in a conversation about Vinyl's past, and the stupid stuff they did, and the way of Trottingham trash, as he put it. "So, how did a classy Canterlot mare fall in love with a Trottingham thug?, I don't come off as 'that' type of mare" Vinyl was blushing and nervous about the waters that their conversation was going. "What do you mean by 'that' kind of mare!?" Octavia protested "And 'Trottingham Thug', Vinyl never mentioned a lot about her past from her past" Moonlit was now looking at Vinyl, neither wanted this conversation to pop up, but it slipped. "Well...uhmmm" Moonlit started "Let's just drop this topic, eh?" Octavia was not dropping it, she was in the need to know about Vinyl's past. "No, let's keep talking about that part of Vinyl being a thug" now Moonlit and Vinyl was choking on the topic at hand, their past wasn't the cleanest. "Well, we were in the bad part of town and fell into a shitty crowd, let's just say we did a few things that weren't very nice" Octavia wasn't letting Moonlit stop with this conversation, and she said as much "We mugged, drank, and smoked some very illegal herbs, and ran from the police every time we got spotted, let's just say during my time in the guard, the Princess owed me a favor, and I got us clean slates" Moonlit and Vinyl nervously smiled. Octavia wasn't pleased, but she was willing to forgive her lover's sins, and the continued to the castle, it was a good hour of friendly conversation before they reached the gates of the Castle, the Guards out front lost composer at the sight of the former Captain, the two high-ranking ones looked in disbelief and trotted toward the former captain and smiled. "I'll be, is that Cpt. Moonlit coming back to the Guard?" "No, this is a VIP that has an appointment with Celestia over the death of Cpt. Solar Wind" Moonlit said, but the three apparently knew each other. "I am sorry for your loss, and you know he changed his name, right?" The guard said correcting Moonlit. "I am aware, but a legal document won't make me forget the name of being 'lil brother, and I thought Border Guards stay at the border, I didn't know the border was pushed back to the gates of the castle" Moonlit, teasing the guard. "Captain, I changed over to the Royal Guard after you resigned, it just wasn't the same without the Captain that made the Hellhole actually fun" The guard was smiling wide now before he added "Cpt. Horny Head" the three guards started laughing so hard that they almost lost balance and fell. "Man, Deputy Cpt. Chicken Wings, I forgot that name and Private Potato, how have y'all been?" "I got married, three foals, Potato over here got married and divorced, that skank took every bit he had, and it's Sgt. Chicken wings and Lt. Potato to you, Cpt. Horny" they all laughed, but Sunrise was getting a little impatient, and at the sight of her, the two active guards shot to attention, leaving Vinyl, Octavia and Moonlit confused. "Lt., Sgt.," she stated with an unimpressed tone "You are on duty, and I expected you two at your post and stand there, not chatting with your former superior, I'm your boss now so get back the work" Sunrise wasn't happy with the two, but Moonlit was still confused. "Rank" he turned to Sunrise and asked, she was confused at first, but she caught on. "Commander Sunrise at your attention, Sir" She stated with a slight grin. "Either you are treating me like a VIP, or you think a Captain is a higher rank than you" he wasn't sure about that 'sir' part. "Four hours before you resigned, paperwork to make you a General was completed, so technically, you outrank me" she said. "Well, that's some shit, so if I told you to run 1,000 laps around this castle, you would?" he asked, and sunrise deflated. "Yes, but please don't, that would kill me, and I haven't done anything bad" she answered. "Technically, you interrupted a superior's conversation, but, I'll let that slide" he winked at her. "If you don't mind, can we-" Sunrise started but got interrupted "Wait, I resigned, so I can't do anything, so why did you say I could still order you?" Moonlit was confused "Did you never get the letter? Celestia wanted you back, so she informed you, but your rank was held until you answered the letter, but you are still recognized as such" she answered the question, making Moonlit ponder "General Moonlit, man, I need to be put into the Lunar Guard to make that sound right" Moonlit joked. They continued onwards to get to the throne room, when they got there, Celestia and Luna was in there, but the door was barely opened, so Moonlit told everyone to stop and be quiet, he wanted to make an entrance that would be funny to him and Vinyl, but he wasn't sure about the other two, but that didn't matter, he turned his plot to the door, he then gave the large marble door a hefty buck, and it went flying open he entered with a sarcastic smile on his muzzle, the guards inside and the two princesses were surprised by the intrusion, and moonlit was going to milk this rank, just to get back to Celestia. He walked in and ordered the Guards into a line in front of him, he was going to enjoy this "As you might know, I am former Cpt. Moonlit, but Celestia made me General Moonlit, and I ain't impressed with y'all sacks of lazy guard trash, step forward if you were on duty when the changling attack happened" all of the guards stepped forward, Celestia wasn't impressed with the General's actions, but she wanted to see what he was planning. "Well, no shit" Moonlit began " So, Y'all was damned near defeated by a surprise attack, which you are trained to counter, is that right you sacks of shit!?!" Moonlit raised his voice, and Celestia knew where this might be heading, but she wasn't stopping Moonlit, she was interested with this surprise. "While I know it was rough, HOW THE LIVING FUCK DID A SIMPLE ATTACK CATCH YOU OFF GUARD!!" he was going to deal with this problem right here, no one fucks around in his guard. everyone was quiet. "That was a question, and if you don't answer it, you will wake up in a hospital bed from internal bleeding, ANSWER ME!!!". Luna was briefed on this stallion, but he was more of a hardass on his guards than the reports said. "General, If we could intervene with your conversation with thy's guards, why are they lined up?" Luna asked, not catching onto the reason he was pissed. "Because, they are apparently under trained, so here is what is going to happen" He was still smiling but it goes full on with his last sentence. "Beginning now, all the Border Guards from this year's class will become Royal Guards, and all Royal Guards will train to be better, at the Border Guard's expenses that it, and they will never make my guard look like little shit heads during an attack ever again' he turned to the guards "Get all guards that were here on duty during the Canterlot Invasion and ship them to Border Guard training grounds, bring the Border Guards that are graduating here, and I will make the combat training in the guards more deadly and efficient so that shit won't happen again" he looked at the sad Sunrise and took a moment to think "But, one of y'all get Commander Sunrise's file for me, I'll take a personal look at it, same with Lt. Potato and Sgt. Chicken Wing" a pegasus went to get the three guard's file. "The rest of y'all heard me, get going, roundup and ship all those guards for more training. DISMISSED!" the rest of the guards took off at incredible speed, he approached the Princesses, who had mixed feelings about the General's orders, but they would trust him. "So, how long has it been, I hope if you don't mind me calling you Captain?" Celestia asked "I would prefer General, and could we move this to the Royal Conference Room, we all could sit there and discuss our situation" Moonlit smiled after correcting Celestia, Sunrise turned and started walking away, but Moonlit wasn't done with her. "Commander, I would appreciate it if you accompanied me for a little longer" he said with a hint of friendliness in his voice "Yes, sir" Sunrise wasn't going to argue, but Moonlit was acting if a plan was blooming, and that could be good or bad for her, but she had no choice in the General's question, he would have kept insisting. "Good, well, let us go" He lead the way, the two princesses was behind him, and behind them was Sunrise, Vinyl, and Octavia. When they got settled in the room, he asked a guard for some whiskey on the rocks, a martini for Octavia, a glass of vodka for Vinyl, White wine for Celestia and red wine for Luna. Once everyone had their drinks Moonlit began the conversation. "So, I was right, wasn't I Celestia?" he said, but Celestia and Luna were confused. "Whatever do you mean, General?" Celestia asked "I said he was going to die in the guard, and here we are, but I will forgive you for backstabbing me on that one, because I know he had a will, and I want to see it, I am afraid that he left everything to one of his past wives, and I can't allow that" Moonlit stated "About that, he left everything to you, but since you cut contact with him, you never got a different set of news," Celestia said, nodding to Luna who left, leaving the five in the room. "And what news would that be, Tia," Moonlit said with an interest in his voice. "What news-" Moonlit was cut off by an unfamiliar voice, it sounded like a filly from here in Canterlot. "Are you my Uncle?" the filly called from behind Moonlit, he stopped and looked behind his chair, the filly had a white coat and a mane that was light green on the left and dark green on the right, she was a pegasus, she defiantly looked like his brother, but he wasn't convinced. "And whom may I have the honor of meeting, Miss-" Moonlit stopped to get a name "My name is Solar Light" "Well, it sounds like a name that he would come up with," Moonlit said "Is your father Solar Wind?" "Yes" she said, smiling that she won't be orphaned if this is her uncle. "May you come over here?" Moonlit said with a smile. she trotted over and hopped up onto the chair Moonlit looked uneasy, then the fully curled up right below his chest, and between his fore legs and yawned, everyone but the confused Uncle smiled at the cuteness, and before he said anything, the filly fell asleep. "When was the last time she slept?" Moonlit asked Luna. "A moon ago, before she got the news" Luna answered, Moonlit nodded and turned toward Vinyl and Octavia. "looks like you two are aunts,how does that feel?" The two mares thought about it for a few seconds. "Why do I feel old?" Vinyl said, making everyone laugh Moonlit turned to Celestia "Look, I'm not going to hold a grudge, but don't fuck with me, I don't like being made a fool of" he said, Celestia nodded. "Now, you will get his money put on your account, and what of his possessions?" Celestia asked "Send them to Ponyville, I have a house I never used, it's an old ranch that I let a family in Ponyville use for cows, I think it's the Apple Family?" Moonlit said "She is the Element of Honesty if you didn't know, and all business will be sent to Twilight's Castle, so you will meet the others that know Applejack" Celestia said "But, how did you know that he died?, I told her not to tell you." "I forced her, I don't like liars, so I told her to tell me the truth, or I crash the zeppelin into the ground, and I got suspicious when she said LUNA sent for me when she probably knew nothing of me other than what you told her, and while we are on that topic, I need a replacement for the Ponyville Morgue" "WHAT?!?" Octavia yelled "You worked at the morgue!?" "Yea, No one dies in Ponyville apparently, so I got a job there, it was peaceful" Moonlit said. Then the pegasus that he sent to retrieve the files arrived "Thank you, dismissed" he said, then began cross referencing the three files "O.K, these three won't need extra training, they apparently kicked and fought the whole time, and saved quite a few, also, Sunrise, I'm Promoting you to be my right-hand mare, if you wish to relocate to Ponyville, I will pay for the expenses for a place for you to stay" "Please, you said you owned a ranch" Sunrise questioned "Yes, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, kitchen, living room, and a ton of land" Moonlit answered "Could I move in? if that ain't a bother, I wouldn't want to trouble you with living expenses" Sunrise asked "why not, the more the merrier as they," he said "And Vinyl, if you dare make it sound like I know you will, I will not forgive you" everyone laughed. Soon after, the five left the castle and started for Ponyville, Solar Light sat in Sunrise's lap as Moonlit flew the zeppelin, and Octavia and Vinyl caught a train since there was no room in the zeppelin for them.
Chapter 2/ Led ZeppelinMoonlit Memories When Moonlit was done packing, Sunrise told him about the carriage, so they went to it, but instead of getting in, he told the driver that they won't need his service, but Moonlit still paid him in full, plus a tip of 100 bits, that kind of money would of made anyone’s day, and he turned and told Sunrise to follow, though she turned and told him that was there only way to get to canterlot without walking, since he was a unicorn, and she was a earth pony, but he explained something that she didn't even want to question. “I have a zeppelin that is about as fast as a pegasus, and can fit 2 ponies plus some cargo space” Moonlit said as they walked into a pasture. “You keep a high dollar zeppelin in a pasture!?!?” Sunrise said, suddenly feeling like this stallion had no economical sense whatsoever. “No one messes with it, not even the cows” he said reassuring his companion on this trip ”...hey?” “What is it?” Sunrise said surprised, a stallion that would scared foals, actually everyone, was trying to make conversation, she thought, this is gonna be i little more interesting than her normal errands she runs for the princesses. “Why are you trying to get me to Canterlot again?” “B...Because, there is a corpse that other doctors can't seem to find the cause of death of, and it was definitely a murder, but they need an autopsy from the best to know what killed him, and how it was used” she said, DAMN, she thought, that lie was obvious. Even though Moonlit knew it was a lie, he was curious on what is truly needed of him. They reached the zeppelin and got in, and took off and was at least 2 minutes since take off for Moonlit to speak again. “Here is the deal” he began in an aggressive tone “I don't like lies so, if you don't tell me the real reason we are goin to Canterlot, i crash this zeppelin into the ground, and we die, do you understand?” She was shaken, and even to make sure she was scared, he was smiling a psychotic smile. “Why do you need me?” Moonlit said, with the same tone as before “I don't know!!” she said, and it was obvious that was a lie, so moonlit nosedived the zeppelin after turning the engines to minimum “TELL ME AND I WILL PULL UP!!!” he shouted at her “OK OK OK, THEY WANT YOU TO DO SURGERY ON A VERY POWERFUL MEMBER OF THE GOVERNMENT” she yelled back, while balling her eyes out. He gave the engine fuul power, and pulled up and then he asked if that was so hard, she looked at him and nodded
