This would be the first time a unicorn ever obtained temporary wings she thought, but what she was looking forward to was what that lucky unicorn was going to be doing with those wings. “A spy in the city cumulo.” Came the booming voice of the unicorn king “this looks like quite the project my daughter, are you sure you can handle it?” “It’s a little late to go back now father and trust me I do everything with grace I’ll be fine” came the elegant voice of the purple clad white unicorn. “Yes that’s true, I only wish I could see commander hurricanes face when she realizes she’s been tricked” the king said laughing afterward “Well hopefully father she never realizes she’s been tricked.” Said the princess with obvious annoyance She loved her father but sometimes she wondered if she would make a better ruler, after all she’s smart, level headed, and beautiful she often wondered how the other unicorns could stand not being as perfect as her. “Attention everyone!” came the voice of the lead scientist “we will now begin the winging process!” Everyone turned to look at the agent who would receive the wings some looked with distaste others with envy princess platinum however couldn’t be more excited. The scientist unicorns turned and fired the spell at the spy and after a flash of light he emerged not only with the wings of a pegasi but he also lacked the horn of a unicorn to further aid the disguise. “Wonderful!” shouted princess platinum “now hurry off and make the unicorns proud.” “But princess he has to be briefed again.” “Oh hush he knows what he must do now off.” And without a word the spy flew off towards the giant cloud city of cumulo with the hopes and the safety of the unicorn people in mind. But back at the castle there was a problem “Princess that spell was only a trial run it could last for a month or fade almost instantly!” The princess looked at him unworried,shrugged and went off down a castle hallway leaving the scientists only with the clacking of her hooves. At the cumulo military base pegasi flew around with excitement after finding a pegasi turn into a unicorn right before their eyes they wondered what they were supposed to do so they put him in a holding cell obviously where normal ponies could stand and waited for commander hurricane to arrive. After waiting for what seemed like forever the pegasi finally got their wish when commander hurricane came zipping down the hall and stopped right in front of the cell. When she opened the door she saw the spy looking at her through a wall of bars. “So, you’re the lame spy who tried to get into cumulo, that didn’t turn out to well did it” she snickered but the spy didn’t talk “I bet your wondering why you can’t use magic, well it turns out rainbows in concentrated form is magic blockers or at least that’s what I’ve been told anyway.” The spy looked bored and tired after she finished talking. “Not talking huh,” she said “I know ways to make you talk.” She started to stare at him she stared and stared until “Ugh, fine I give up you were probably too mesmerized by me to talk anyway, I should have realized that sooner.” She turned and walked out the door right before the spy cracked up laughing. “One of you get a messenger and tell him I want to have a council with her majesty.” She said mockingly “Right away sir!” said one of the soldiers. When the two ponies and some of their clan’s members arrived at the council room the air was chilly and both ponies were less than happy. “What’s the big idea sending a unicorn into pegasi territory?!” commander hurricane said “Oh it’s nothing really we just thought that your city would look better if some of our own were in it.” Said the princess “What’s that supposed to mean!” “Oh it’s nothing you probably wouldn’t understand if I told you anyway.” “Was that an insult!” said the commander not sure if she should be mad or not “Oh of course not I wouldn’t dream of doing that” said the princess who was having a surprisingly enjoyable time. “Hey don’t treat me like an earth pony!” “But why not you’re only an earth pony with wings.” “Oh yeah, well you’re a….” the commander paused and thought “Well I don’t know what you are but you’re something.” “Why thank you I always knew I was something special.” “Ugghhh I’ve had it with you this is the last straw!” said the commander who was getting very annoyed at this point “But this is the first time we’ve done anything.” “Exactly, and now this means war!” Princess platinum was very surprised at what she thought the dimwitted pegasi said. “I dare you to say that again” said the princess “Fine, I’ll say it all day heck ill sing it, this means war, now come on pegasi lets go” “Hurry unicorns let’s leave first” And with that the two leaders stuck their noses high and marched out of the building, with their people following them. But with the words spoken at that meeting the two tribes started something they couldn’t stop without consequences, and those consequences would be larger than they ever expected. Weeks passed and the two nations we both preparing for something big. At the unicorn kingdom the princess was overlooking something momentous. “Ok princess we’re ready to show you our new weapon but this time let us call the shots.” Said the lead unicorn scientist. “Ok fine, fine just get on with this I’m so excited!” she was so excited she could barely sit still. “Ready, set, unicorns barrier!” a giant barrier surrounded the kingdom. “Unicorns launch magic!” a large fiery explosion went off in the distance and sent shockwaves that could be felt even in cumulo. The princess looked at it in awe “Oh, yes this will show those pegasi what for.” But while the princess was overjoyed the unicorn king looked at the explosion regretting every second of his daughters decision. At the floating city cumulo the pegasi were also preparing something dastardly “Ok make some room, make some room I am going to perform the most amazing attack ever that will totally ruin the unicorns.” Said a heavily padded commander hurricane “I call it, the sonic rainboom, sounds devastating don’t you think.” She said which was met with a large amount of cheers And with that she zoomed straight into the air, and when she reached her peak height a rainbow started to follow her and when she zoomed down and hit a target in the prairie bellow she created a massive explosion with a huge amount of shock waves. “That was amazing; we’ll totally crush those unicorns.” She squealed with delight over the cheers of the pegasi above her. Back at castle magenta the king was pleading with his daughter to stop the war “No means no father, that brutish pegasi insulted me far too much.” “That may be so but do you really want to cause both sides so much sadness and hate?” “oh, please father there will be no sadness, the unicorns know I’m right, all they’re filled with is happiness and pride, now please leave me I’m ever so tired.” With sadness and determination in his eyes he left, but only to go speak with his advisor “Advisor filthy I need your help on this war business.” “Please your highness call me rich, and I had hoped you would talk to me about this.” Came the suave voice of his advisor “What do you think I should do?” “To be honest you majesty, this whole thing could be settled with an apology and as much as it pains me to say it money and supplies.” “But what of my daughter?” “Your highness you have to take charge, you are king after all.” The king looked up at his advisor with a new found confidence “Your absolutely right get me a council with commander hurricane” “Right away sir” said his advisor smiling as he walked away to get a messenger Talking filled the meeting room as the three leaders walked in the king his daughter and the commander. “what is it you want unicorn king” said the commander with as much respect as she could muster after all even if she didn’t like princess platinum she still respected the king. “We’ve come to end this silly war business.” The whole room went abuzz with talking and both the princess and the commander looked equally as surprised. “Well… I don’t think we can do that after all the pegasi were insulted.” “I have spoken with my advisor and we both agree that a formal apology is in order.” “I don’t think an apology is going to be enough.” “And of course will be paid we will give the pegasi nation food and money to play for my daughters mistake.” The kings said with a tone of finality “But father!” yelled the princess “this pegasi insulted me!” “Hush!” came the king his voiced boomed and echoed across the room and everyone unicorn and pegasi was silent. And finally the commander spoke “This offer is hard to refuse plus you apologized.” She thought “Fine, lets end this war stuff it was getting lame anyway.” Not even a second after she finished cheers erupted from both sides and the king gave a sigh of relief, while the princess looked rather annoyed. But even though the war was stopped and peace returned to the land it was not for long. For both sides still harbored dislike and grudges some cause by the almost war some caused by other things. So even when both sides were back in there kingdoms celebrating a close call with parties and feasts, a more evil foe was moving towards them ever closer, blowing its cold wind of hate.
