So you came back.

I guess you just want to know the tale of our horrible suffering, don't you? Well, fine. I will humor you. I hope all of this will make you realize that you...are disgusting.

Every single one rejected us. We tried at least two dozen homes. Each one said just about the same thing.

"We don't want any freaks."

Those words hurt, a lot. It's not like we wanted to be this way. We didn't ask for our lives to be this way.

It's all your fault.

We've been sitting out in the cold for hours. Exii has cried already. Finally, I spoke.

"Everything..someday..everything will be alright."

Muu looks up. She had zoned out. She looks me straight in the eye, glaring a bit.

"Do you really think that, Faiyy?" She snarled. "Do you really think that anything will be okay? After everything we've endured, do you really think that anything will be okay?"

I took a beat to process this. Muu had never used that tone with either of us. "I..I just...I just wanted..I just wanted hope. I want...I want things to feel stable, for once."
