Sunshine felt as though she was falling. The air around her was emptie and cold. She opened her eyes, but all she could see was darkness, all around her. Sunshine concentrated. She tried to light up her horn, but dispite her best efforts, no magic came to her aid.
Then, Sunshine felt a terrible pain from within her stomach. She felt as though sharp razors with stabbing her repeatedly. She tried to cry out in pain, but no sound came. The pain grew and grew. Sunshine tried to scream louder, but she could still make no sound.
Her vision began to brighten as the pain grew until Sunshine was seeing nothing but white. Then, everything faded to black, and the pain dissapeared.
***Part 2: Welcome To Equestria***
"Is... Is she alright?"
"I haven't the slightest idea, darling... Perhaps we should alert the emergency services?"
*Silence*
"What are... What's up with her hooves? I know what hooves look like, and they don't look like normal hooves."
"Hush now, Rainbow. Ya' can't just say somethin' like that about another mare's hooves. I'm sure there's a good explanation to all of this."
*Silence*
"Hey, girls! I'm ba- Oh... Oh, Celestia..."
"Twilight, thank Celestia you're here. This poor thing just fell right out of the mirror, right onto the floor. She hasn't moved since."
*Silence*
"Hurry... Get her to a bed. Gently, Rainbow Dash."
"You just said hurry!"
*Silence*
"Is she dead?"
"Rainbow!"
*Silence*
"Leave the water there. Yes, on the nightstand. She'll need plenty of it when she wakes up..."
"Shouldn't we tell Princess Celestia?"
*Silence*
"Princess Celestia and Princess Luna are both on their way right now."
"Well, they better hurry. That poor thing is lookin' mighty pale."
*Silence*
"Her horn... Why is it... glowing? That's a beautiful golden hue. I've never seen anything quite like it."
"Let's get out here and let her rest... She only needs rest..."
*Silence*
***Part 3: Lovers Apart***
Sunshine Harvest sat on top of the fence bordering the horse pasture, looking out across the rolling green fields. It was one of her favorite spots. She liked watching the horses run and play. Occasionally, she would join them. The horses didn't mind. They welcomed her like one of their own, but this time, Sunshine wanted to sit on the sidelines and watch.
A gentle wind blew across the field, rustling the grass and blowing Sunshine's hair behind her. With the warmth of the setting sun on her face and the wind in her hair, nothing could bring her down.
"You're a hard girl to figure, Sunshine..."
Startled, Sunshine spun her head around in search of the voice. Her eyes scanned the area around the fence but saw no one. Alone again, Sunshine turned her attention back to the horses.
"I thought I had you figured, but you constantly prove me wrong. I guess that's just one of the reasons I... I like you so much."
"D-Dennis?" Sunshine gasped, looking around for the source of the voice.
He sounded close, but Dennis was nowhere in sight. Sunshine hopped down from the fence and began walking into toe pasture.
"You're a hard girl to figure, Sunshine..." The voice echoed.
Sunshine continued walking. She walked until she reached the tall grass, and she continued into the unknown.
"You twisted my emotions and my mind, Sunshine."
Sunshine broke into a sprint.
"I thought I had you figured, and you did something to me."
Sunshine ran until she caught her foot in a snake hole. Her ankle twisted, and she fell forward.
But Just before she hit the ground, a pair of arms caught her.
Sunshine looked up and came face to face with Dennis.
"You made me fall in love..."
Sunshine beamed.
"You have such a way with words..." She said in a sarcastic tone.
Dennis gave her a sly smile.
"I love you, Sunshine Harvest..."
Sunshine let out a sharp breath.
"I... I love you too, Dennis..."
Then, Dennis leaned forward and began licking her cheek.
"Oh... D-Dennis... That's... Whoa..."
Dennis licked up and down Sunshine's cheek.
Sunshine turned her head, but Dennis began licking the opposite cheek.
"Dennis... This is kinda weird..."
Dennis was licking her more aggressively now, all over Sunshine's face.
"D-Dennis... No! Stop, Dennis!"
***Part 4: Rude Awakenings***
"D-Dennis... No! Stop, Dennis!"
Sunshine bolted upright, and she came face to face with a small dog. She was small, and brown with spots of white. The dog wagged her tail happily. She leaned forward and began licking Sunshine's face affectionately.
"Uhg... No! Get- Get off!"
The dog whimpered before jumping over the side of the bed.
Sunshine raised her sleeve to her face and began wiping away the saliva that had accumulated. With most of her face dry, Sunshine began taking in her surroundings.
She eyed the crystalline walls, which glittered and sparkled in the light that entered through the window. Then, she noticed the shape of the room. The base was a circle, but the walls arched upward into a dome shape. The walls met at the ceiling. In the center, a glistening chandler descended.
"Whoa..." Sunshine muttered softly as her eyes wandered.
Her gaze eventually stopped on a table next to the bed. There sat a transparent glass of crystal clear water.
Only after seeing the water did Sunshine realize how thirsty she was. She quickly picked up the glass and emptied it in several large gulps.
"Do you need more?"
Sunshine jumped and nearly dropped the glass. She quickly looked towards the door.
An equine figure stood by the open door. She looked not dissimilar to a horse, but the basic shape was where the similarities ended. Unlike a horse, the figure by the door was purple. She had a pair of purple wings on her back and a purple horn sprouting from her forehead. Her Kane and tail were dark with purple and pink streaks.
Sunshine looked at the figure with confusion and disbelieve.
"You don't... recognize me?" The mare asked. "It's me, Sunshine, Twilight."
"Tw-Twilight?" Sunshine gasped. "You... You're..."
The mare smiled and stepped towards the bed.
"This is me, Sunshine." She said with a smile. "This is what I normally look like, but you... You haven't changed a bit..."
Sunshine looked down at her arms, her human arms.
"You're still the same..." Twilight said as she looked over Sunshine's body. "Very interesting... How are you feeling?"
Her memory was fuzzy and broken, but Sunshine remembered the pain.
"I feel... sore..." Sunshine groaned as she held and arm over her abdomen. "Wha... What happened to me?"
Twilight frowned and looked at the floor.
"I... I'm not sure. The girls said you collapsed as soon as you came through the portal. Are you... in any pain?"
Sunshine shook her head.
"Not really... My head hurts a little, though..."
Twilight bit her lower lip.
"Sorry... That might have been out fault. Rainbow Dash tried to carry you here all by herself, and she dropped you about four feet off of the ground..."
Hearing the word 'dropped' made the throbbing pain in the back of Sunshine's head hurt even more.
"I'm sorry..." Twilight apologized again. "This wasn't how I wanted this to go at all... We were supposed to meet at Sugarcube Corner for lunch with the Cakes..."
Sunshine shifted her legs and tried to climb out of the bed.
"Whoa... Easy there, Sunshine." Twilight cautioned. "I don't want to risk you getting hurt again. Your mother would not be happy..."
"I'm fine, Twilight..." Sunshine groaned. "I... I gotta get up... I can't feel my legs anymore..."
With a little help from the princess, Sunshine managed to get on her own two feet. Sunshine let out a satisfied sigh as she felt blood flow returning to her legs.
"Are you hungry?" Twilight asked her.
A loud growl from Sunshine's stomach answered Twilight's question for her, and the princess chuckled.
"Very well... Let's go see if the girls are still up for a trip to Sugarcube Corner."
Sunshine Harvest braved a smile as she shakily followed Twilight out of the bed room and into the Crystal Palace.
