"Sweetie Belle" Applebloom croaked out as she woke from her stupor. "Ah guess we all died then hun" She stated as the last bit of hope drained from her. Sprawled on the floor she blubbered, "I thought you survived. "she cried out." I missed you but.. I was happy, that you didn't have to suffer with us".
As she cried Sweetie place a hoof on her withers, and whispered soothing sounds to her. "Shh, shh no no that not it at all I survived, but I couldn't let you guys stay here". She said smiling. Slowing coming to terms with what Sweetie had said, hope started to slowly worm it's way into her heart. "You came for us, you would come to the fiery pits of hell us?"She finished with a hitch in her voice.
Tears streamed from her face a mixture of love, one strong enough to break the chains of death the sadness of losing her friends knowing there were never going to rest in peace, and guilt for not being strong enough to save them.
Holding Sweetie Belle she cried out apologies, thanks and promises in an incoherent blubber. Calming her down Sweetie continued in a soothing voice lasted with steel.
"Applebloom we need to wake Scoots and get out of here, I have a plan but we need to get of purgatory first." Still a mess Applebloom dried her tears as she focused herself at the task at hand, thinking to herself that she was a changeling queen and would one day have a hive of her own she had the power to do get through this.
Nodding to Sweetie she when to wake Scoots as her companion stood look out for passing demons.
Scootaloo was a mess for the way she died had left her with scars and gashes on her body, even in death her soul wore the marks. Unchaining her Applebloom nuzzled her head in an attempt to stir her, achingly slowly her eyes opened to reveal glassy unfocused orbs.
"Scoots" She called out
No reply was heard, "Scoots, snap out of it we need to get out of here". Her voice filled with urgency. Still getting nothing Applebloom called over Sweetie for help, "she wouldn't respond to anything I did it's like she's not even there anymore". Sweetie looked to Scoots the feeling of despair she felt made the pits look like a paradise.
She spoke slowly and sagely "That's cause she isn't, an undead is made by binding one's soul to their body hence giving the body the strength and endurance of the soul,....... but a soul isn't indestructible and when it is bound it's weakened, when Sombra killed her by tearing her limb from limb he was also tearing her soul apart." Sweetie finished weakly. Applebloom spoke with a hitch in her voice fearing the answer to her next question, "Can we save her?". "I don't know, the pain of having ones soul shredded is more than enough to break one's mind. The fact she was able to pull herself together enough to end up hear is nothing short of remarkable, there is one way to help her but it comes at a great risk." "What is it?" Applebloom asked quickly already knowing what she was going to do before Sweetie even answered. "We have to enter her mind and help her through the pain she experienced at her death while assisting her with reassembling it. It will hurt a lot in ways you will never have known possible." Taken aback by the prospect of helping her friend Applebloom asked "Can we get out of here and then help her?".
"No we can't, we are going to be getting out of here by Twilight and her friends summoning me, the magic pulls on the soul in the state Scoots is in her soul would shatter." was the answer she received. Applebloom looked at the empty eyes of one of her closest friend, a friend that stood by her even when she was revived to be a changeling someone who had accepted her in her entirety lay broken at her hooves, the choice was never hers to make as it had been made far back, in all the times she had been comforted, protected and cared for.
"OK then" She said "let's do this" she finished the apprehension draining from her voice as it was filled with the steel of her will to save her friend. "Alright then" Sweetie answered her tone vanquishing any doubts. "I'll start casting the spell to enter her mind you join in by adding power." After a nod of confirmation the spell was cast the light green light of her unicorn magic melded with her oozing darkness that was her demon magic, the crisp yellow light of Applebloom's magic soon joined her magic, shining a light on the blackness as is engulfed Scootaloo for a moment the magic's built until there was a burst and all went dark.
When they awoke all that existed was pain, the feeling of being ripped apart over and over again was played in their minds consuming them until all that they were was pain. The pain of death after death, the pain of fearing the world, the pain of despair of the night she died seeing Applebloom's body thrown with such of force is snapped the truck of the tree as the sound of her back breaking echoed through the night, a night which was meant to signify their love for one another cut short by the cruel twist of fate, that was their existence.
The sadness and despair she felt as her blood turned to ice as she charged Sombra only to be swatted like a fly and ripped to pieces as she saw the look on Sweetie's face, a look of one who knew nothing of acceptance to finally attain it after long ago giving up on it, only to have to watch helplessly as her only friends were killed brutally right before her eyes the brokenness in her eyes was enough scar her soul as her body slowly broke under the torture, looking to her friend she tried to called out to her to tell her to run but the icy chains of death had already claimed her once again. As the physical, emotional and mental pain run through her Applebloom struggled to form a coherent thought, it was a slow and tedious process but finally she recalled why she was here and called out to her friend's name in that word she focused all of her feelings into it, the acceptance, love and caring she was giving and returned it to her friend, her voice carried like a shock wave clearing her mind and freeing Sweetie from her mental shackles. Now free from she was able to form their mental projections as Scootaloo's dreamscape formed around them.
