//-------------------------------------------------------// Her one true love -by BlackLight2015- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Moon and Stars //-------------------------------------------------------// The Moon and Stars Luna sighed to herself as she looked up at the moon's aura, the moonlight shined upon her like she was bathing in it as the stars sparkled like diamonds in her sky. She turned around and walked to her bed, her hair flowing behind her like the Milky Way as she laid her head on her pillows. "When will I find somepony who loves the moon, stars and galaxy like I do?" She said to herself. Luna snuggled deeper into her bed and slowly dozed off to a peaceful sleep. The next day, Luna opened her eyes as she awoke to her sister’s bright sun shining into her room and casting much of it in a warm golden glow, before letting out a small smile and gracefully getting out of bed. She set about making her bed and putting on her crown with routine cobalt flourishes of magic, then looked herself over in the mirror before exiting and walking down the hall. Royal Guards were presiding over the hallway with their usual stoicness as Luna walked, only to stop as she saw her sister Celestia at the end of the hallway. "Hello sister, how was your night?" Celestia asked, smiling at Luna. Luna let out a deflated sigh, but gave her older sister a smile anyways. "Well, I was looking at my beautiful sky and stars and musing over whether I was ever going to find somepony that enjoys it as much as I do," she said quietly to her sister. Celestia let out a sigh and frowned at her little sister, before she enveloped Luna into a loving hug. "Dear sister, you will find some-pony of your own someday, even I haven't yet," Celestia said. Luna nodded and made her way to the dining hall to eat, where she sat herself down and ate some strawberries and oranges. After her quick meal, she dabbed a napkin at her mouth and let out a smile before she got out of her seat and made her way back up to her room. Luna never spent much time around the rest of the castle; a fact that she mused about as she walked down the hall and up the set of stairs to her chambers. Her room was the highest in the castle and as such took her a while to ascend the stairs to the top, where she nodded to her guard who stood watch at the entrance. "Flash," she greeted with a warm smile. Flash Sentry nodded and returned her smile as she passed. Luna walked into her room and shut the door; she lay on her bed and levitated a book in front of her along with her quill pen and began writing. There was a light blush on Luna’s face and bit her lip as she continued writing. The Princess wrote the last bit of new text furiously, letting out a contented sigh and as the book was promptly locked shut. Finished, Luna laid there in quietude for a few moments. Eventually, she let out a small yawn and decided it was best to have a nap. In her dream, she saw a white stallion Pegasus with a blue, almost black mane and tail. It seemed like he had stars in his mane and tail from how much it sparkled. What she furthermore beheld in her dream was the stallion sitting by a lake under a willow tree, gazing at the moon and stars longingly. He had a strange cutiemark; it was the full moon surrounded by an indigo aura and the moon portion of the mark tended to glow when he was looking at the moon itself in the sky. It was then that the dream ended, and Luna awoke suddenly. She looked outside. The sun was starting to set over the horizon. "This is what I get when I try and take a nap, " she said to herself. Luna looked out at the courtyard and couldn't see any lakes or willow trees. "I wonder if there are any outside of the courtyard," she said further with a smile on her face, before she stretched out her wings and took to the sky. There was a cool breeze in the air, Luna's mane and tail swayed in the wind like the grass below her. She looked around as she flew, disappointed to see that there were no lakes near the outside of the courtyard. She decided to fly a little further; Luna flew outside of Canterlot and finally found a lake with willow trees like she had been hoping for. The Princess smiled to herself and dived down to the lake, letting out a sigh of relief as the cool water relaxed her wings and muscles. She looked up at her moon and stars, possessing a nascent feeling that she would find her true love. When Luna started to turn around to walk to the willow tree, she bumped completely unexpectedly into the muzzle of another pony. She looked up and started to blush in sheer amazement, for there in front of her was the stallion from her dreams. He was tall, and his wings looked majestic. His eyes sparkled like her stars; she couldn't help but stare. "Princess, " he said in a low voice. Luna looked up at him; she couldn't find the words that were swirling in her mind. "Are you alright?" he asked in a still quiet voice. Luna nodded and started to blush again; he couldn't help but smile at her. "Well, it's nice to meet you, Princess, my name is Stellar Moon, " he said, outstretching his hoof. Luna took it and slowly shook hooves with him, completely unable to take her eyes away from him. "You can call me Luna, " she said slowly. "Well Luna ..." he said as he held his words in his mouth, smirking. Luna started to blush again; she looked up into his sparkling light blue eyes. Stellar slowly started to lean in, and despite the spontaneity of the meeting and of the action itself, she couldn't help but follow as she seemed to be under the control of her very heart and instincts. He kissed her gently; she closed her eyes and relished the moment. Stellar pulled back and took to the sky, with Luna flaring her wings as went to follow. Stellar Moon landed upon a fluffy cloud and folded his wings as he waited for Luna, who landed next to him. "I haven’t seen my moon from up close like this since I was Nightmare Moon," she said. Stellar smiled. "I find such elegance in the moon and such beauty in the stars, not to mention the wonder of space itself ," he finally finished. Still gazing at the moon while Luna was looking at him. "You're the first stallion I've met to find my moon, stars and night sky so beautiful," she said. Stellar nodded."You're the only mare that loves it as much, all the others just called me a nerd," he said, laughing a little. "A nerd, no. Obvious lover of astronomy, yes, " she said with a smirk. Stellar Moon nodded in silent agreement. "Listen, I would really love to see you again, Luna, " he said gazing at her. She nodded ever so slightly. "I would too, Stellar Moon, but I don't know when I'll be at the lake again," she said with a frown. "Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see, " he said nuzzling against her mane. Stellar enveloped her into a gentle hug with his white feathered wings before he took to the sky and flew away. Luna shook her head and flew back to Canterlot and to the castle; she needed to think about all of this. She flew into her room and lay on her bed wondering to herself if she should finally take a chance on a stallion. The midnight alicorn snuggled into her blankets and dozed off to sleep; she decided she'd figure out what to do in the morning. When morning came, Luna awoke to the sounds of birds chirping, and she smiled to herself. She got out of bed, rearranged the disheveled sheets, and put on her crown. Luna had some big news for her older sister. "Celestia!" Luna yelled as she ran down the hall with a huge grin on her face. Celestia, Twilight and Cadance all happened to be in the castle that morning, and turned to see Luna as she entered the throne room of the castle. "What is it, dear sister?" Celestia said with a tone of concern in her voice. "I may have finally found the stallion of my dreams last night," she said to her sister. Celestia looked at Cadance and Twilight, they nodded and wanted to hear the news as well. "Go on Luna," Cadance said with a smile on her face. "Well, his name is Stellar Moon, he is a white pegasus with blue, almost black mane and tail. But they both sparkle like there are stars in it," she said with a slight blush on her face. "His cutie mark is a full moon with an indigo aura, it glows when he looks at my moon and he's so majestic," she finished. The other alicorns all smiled at Luna as she waited expectantly for their reactions. "Well, you may think have met your one true love, but don't be in a rush” Candace said, while Twilight nodded in silent agreement. "I agree dear sister, but please do let us meet him first, I want to see his cutie mark glow," Celestia said, smiling "Luna, does your cutie mark glow when you're with him?" Twilight asked curiously. Luna nodded slightly. "Oh my, " Celestia said. Twilight and Cadance looked over to her. "What is it, sister?" Luna asked with concern. "It's said that once ponies find their soul mates, the other half, one true love, it is said that they're cutie marks glow, that may be why he has an indigo aura and glows while looking at your moon," Celestia finished "Kind of like how my quarter moon has a white aura and glows when I'm with him," she said with a blush. Celestia nodded again. 'I may have finally found my one true love, but why am I so unsure?' Luna thought to herself with uncertainty. "I must look more into this to figure out why this happens to ponies," Twilight said, taking her leave of the throne room and no doubt preparing to fly off towards Ponyville. "I need to look more into this myself as well," Celestia said, still smiling. Luna nodded and started walking back to her room; she nodded and smiled at guards here and there. She let out a sigh as she walked into her room; she wasn't sure why she was having these thoughts of doubt. Luna had heard of cutie marks glowing when ponies found their true love, but she'd never think it'd happen to her, an alicorn.
