Castle of the pony sisters
The sound of battle was horrifying. The colt ran though the rubble as magic exploded everywhere, bodies filled the entrance, and blood covered the steps in pools. The colt ran, not away from the battle, but towards it fear and anger printed on the young boy's face.
Far above, two gods fought, one of shadow and dispare and one of light and passion. The colt saw them fighting and few up towards the gods, a silver colt of speed strait towards them. As he arived, a rainbow of light swirled around the radiant God. "No! Soul, get away!" said Celestia.
The boy Soul, with his wings silver eyes turned towards the nightmare of a pony "Nightmare! Give me back my mother!" The rainbow light started to soon faster as the shadow of a mare laughed. "Your mother is gone boy. I, Nightmare Moon am your mother now! But dont fright, if you wish to be with that welp I can quicken your trip!"
Soul felt his world end as he turned from the darkness to the blinding light of harmony. The rainbow light enveloped the two as the let out a scream. One of pain and loss, the other of hatred and falure. Soul could hear voices as he felt his vision turn to black "What is it that your soul desires?" "I see no harm in the boy." "thats because he is a honest son. I see that until this night, he had been the cause of much laughter and smiles." "But what of his heart?" "I see a heart of gold, always remaining kind and trying to do the right thing." "He has been very generous to others, even going as far as to shroud his horn so he can give money to kids without a home." "And when they were endangered, he stood up to their foe. The kids got heart." " He is no lier ether. Even when he was caught sneaking butterscotch cookies, he fessed up to it." "But remember, he has the same darkness she does. Plus, the kid doesn't have friends, only people who know him. We can't let him suffer her fate, but we can't let him go ether." "As much as I love his kind heart, I must agree. But just maybe we can use him to help others who need him. First, the blinding. With his latent alicorn magic he should be able to see the living around him But he will be blind." "I agree. Also we should place him in the time of need if I think I know to whom you refer." "Then it is settled. Generosity, would you be a dear and erase his memory of this meeting?" Soul haizly opened his eyes to see six multi-colored lights before him. As black spots started to form around his sight, he asked "Who......are.........."
The Badlands 990 years later
"I swear, with the recent food shortage, we'll have to go back to the old ways. Frankly that won't end well." "Hey Embrion, what's with the kid in the back? And why do you have him covered with a blanket when were in a bucken desert?!" The old stallion known as Embrion sighed. "'Cause the kid is cold as ice. And frankly, I'd rather pesent him to our queen and princess before I tell you about what I saw on him las. Now hurry home Gemini before your mate starts to worry."
As the other one left he went to the back of his cart and uncovered the kid. His silver coat and multi covered red and blue mane were strange enough, but it is what was in his head and body that stood him out. A alicorn. And a 8 year old from the looks of things. Embrion touched the colt with his chitin covered hoof. "Still cold. Don't worry fella, where I'm taking you, everything will be alright."
It was another day before the queen could let the common folk come in and present concerns and the colt has still not woken up. Still, Embrion was ready was he was called in to meet his queen. The room was rather bare, the queen only wanting her throne, deciding the wealth should be the lings. Embrion bowed before her. "Queen Ara, it is a honor to be in your presents." The queen smiled as the old love collector bowed. "The honor is mine ex-general Embrion. What brings you to my hall?"
"While traveling on my way to the town of Appleoosa, there was two flashes of rainbow light. One from the sky, the other in the sand near by. As there was no way to find the sourse of the first I looked in the nearby sand to find this." Embrion reached onto his back to gently set down the bundle. He carefully unwrapped the blanket to revial the silver coated alicorn colt.
Queen Ara gasped. "A pony colt?! And a alicorn?! How did you even get him here without him using their strange magic?! Dah-lan how did you get him here without being followed?!" "He was asleep and still hasn't woken-" this sentence was interupted when the princess spoke up. "Mom, why is that colt still asleep? He makes me feel....sad for some reason. Mom, why is that?" At the sound of the princesses voice, the colt stirred and slowly awoke.
"Wh...where am I? Why is everything so dark? Mom!" the colt said as for the first time the others have seen his eyes. They were as silver with a white film over them. Blind as a bat's. The colt started to hyperventilate before the princess spoke. "Mom, he's awake! Can I play with him? Can I please?" The colt turned towards the princess "Who said that? Why can't I see you?"
Before Queen Ara could stop her The princess ran up and sat infront of the colt. "My names Chrisalis what's yours?" "S-Soul." The colt stuttered. Christalis grinned "Nice to meet you.....Soul..." at that moment Chrisalis met with Soul's eyes and a spark appeared in hers.
The Queen cleared her voice breaking her daughter's trance. "Soul, you are in the badlands, and my home. I am queen Ara. Do you know how you got here? And what of your parents?" Soul look as though he would cry as he spoke. "I don't know. My mother...mom." As his sadness premiates the room, the Queen started to form a crazy idea.
"Embrion, does your house and clan have room for another?' the Queen asked. Embrion thought for a moment "I think there is room for one more my queen." "Then it is decided." She turned to the blind boy and he suprisingly turned towards her. Brushing this off she spoke "Embrion is the one that found you young one. He will care for you if you wish to stay. Don't worry, he will care for you like his own."
Soul nodded "Ok..." Embrion cleared his throat "Don't worry kid you'll be safe with me. I'll also have some of my people try to find your home" Soul just nodded. The queen spoke "Crystalis, why don't you take Soul and go play? Just be careful ok?" Crystalist quickly shouted "Ok!" before taking Souls hoof and dragging him down the hall to her room.
"If I may ask, what are you planing Ara?" Embrion asked with a hardness she had not heard in a long time. "If you think he can replace Moondial then your wrong." She sighed. "I would never insult you like that. No ling can ever replace her. But, I do want you to train him. I do not think he knows what his power lies in, and we both know that dispite the hardship the blind have always been the best guardians. Besides" She looked down the hall to hear crystalist's laughter "my daughter has taken a rather quick liking to him. Trust me, All the pieces have been set. and this game I play will continue to play my way long after my piece has fallen."
Clouds covered the desert sand as a army took camp. Weilding Equestrian banners, the leaders were in the war tent, planing their next course of actions. "If we cut of the ridge here with boulders it will cut off any chance of retreat. Then we will have the troops cover the air and the rest circle the city. Finally, you girls and I will bring a small force and attack the city from its one true weak point, the front door as it were. On the signal of a sonic rainboom, they will have the orders to move in. On the other hoof, if they see a red magi flare instead, that will mean to retreat to base camp to await ferther instruction." The lavander unicorn stopped for a breath before looking around the table. "This is the last hive girls...the last one and we can go home and get some sound sleep"
"We know Twi. A'mean, this is it isnt it? That damned hive that almost tore us apart all them years ago aint it?" Said a orange earthpony with a southen draw. "Yea, Applejack's right!" shouted a cyan pegesus with a rainbow mane. "We've hunted down hive after hive killing these bug without finding the bitch that hurt you, princess Cadance and Celestia!" "As uncooth and barbaric as it was Rainbow dash has a point deary" A white coated unicorn said. "Duh! thats because we faught meany after meany and haven't even beaten the big meany! After all, that must be what my doozy was, Beating the meany!" said a hipper active pink pony. The only one of the six present that never spoke was a butterschotch mare with a long pink mane who simply stared outside, homesick and mentally scared from the battles fought and lives lost.
These six were the Elements of harmony. With their leader and friend Twilight Sparkle, they have for the last year after a changeling invasion, been in constant battle to eradicate these threats from the face of Equestria. Now they have reached the ultamum, the last hive, the hive of the deceptive and evil Queen Chrystalis. With no where to run, and being greatly out numbered, Equestria's victory was certain.
"All right girls, get some sleep. Come this time tomarrow, we're headed home a heros." Twilight said as the meating agerned. They all nodded and split off to seprate tents. As Twilight walked through the camp she noticed the hopeful looks on the warriors and couldn't help but smile. She was happy that soon, she could see Spike again and even posibly ask somepony she has had a eye on out for dinner. Yet, she could not shake this sense that something was not going to go to plan and she will be forced to stay another week in this desert. I really need to listen to Rainbow Dash and lossen up. she thought as she neared her tent for some much needed rest.
the next day......
This it it. thought Twilight as they marched up the final sand dune No amount of preperation could have prepared them for what they saw. The hive-city was huge, easly the size of the cristal empire's capital with a small spire in the middle. But it was not the size that intimidated the six. First, flowers lined every road, to every home, and even a few outside the gates as if it was built around a oasis. Second, the streets.....they were empty. Not a hardly anypony empty, but a no pony empty. Outside the gates was a single figure walking by the flowers. "I don't trust this Twi. It has to be a trap. I say we charge in and show we aint falling for it!"
As illogical as Rainbow was being, Twilight had to agree with her. It was too easy. One Changeling outside this giant city. It looked to convenant. "Send down a group of 50 of our finest. If this isnt a trick they should be able to finish this ling of quickly. If it is a trap their numbers should protect them." With a nod Rainbow dashed to relay the orders and within thirty minutes the platoon was formed and sent off. Within the hour, they reached their target and the six friends couldn't beleave their eyes.
No Changelings leaped from the shadows, nor did they crawl out of the sand. That one ling, no, that one warrior took on a platoon of elite soldiers. They didn't stand a chance. Had it been any other time, it would have been a wonder to behold. The cloaked ling danced though them, blades flashing and vanishing, flowing through them like water, it was a heartfelt slaughter. After the last of the soldiers had fallen, the figure called out "Ponies of Equestria, I wish a diplomatic meeting with your army's leaders. Know this, none of you will be able to enter this city as long as I draw breath."
The six looked at each other and a uneasy feeling passed though them all. How? How had this one Changeling taken on 50 trained soldiers like nothing? "Major Hoofstep." Twilight called. A dark blue unicorn walked up behind the lavander one "Yes General Twilight?" "I need a messsanger sent back to camp. Tell them to send a letter to the princesses requesting renforcments. If they themselfs can make a apearance the better." With a crisp salute and a "Yes Mam!" the Major releayed the order.
Twilight took a sigh and looked at her five friends. "Come on, lets not keep him waiting."
