"So, um, Rainbow," Rarity said, inconspicuously clearing her throat.

"Yeah," Rainbow said looking up from her latest Daring Do book.

"We were wondering-", Rarity said cutting herself off. "Or rather I was wondering-"

"Yes?", Rainbow said impatiently, cutting the other girl off.

"Do you have a special somebody?"

All eyes in the room turned to look at Rainbow as she processed the question.

"No.", she said quickly. "And why are you all looking at me like that? Rares doesn't wanna sleep with me or anything does she?", Rainbow said, smirking at Rarity's now beet red face.

"No!", Rarity was quick to point out. "But wouldn't you want someone who would?"

"No!", Rainbow yelled. "Look, I don't understand why I would possibly need anybody to make my heart whole, or whatever romantic junk you say."

"Romantic junk?", Rarity asked.

"Yes, romantic junk and all the frou frou girly girl crap that comes with it!"

"Now Rainbow that tain't fair!", Applejack drawled.

"Well you're right AJ," Rainbow said. The others thought she would admit defeat, but they were wrong. "I guess the person that comes with the relationship determines he amount of romantic junk and frou frou girly girl crap.

"So you're staying that you would never want anyone?", Rarity asked connivingly.

"Yes!", Rainbow said.

"Nonsense!", Rarity said, huffing. "Well you at least have a preference, do you not?"

"Fine, I like chics.", Rainbow admitted, sending the room into spirals of gasps, and words that one never thought would come from Rarity's mouth.

The girls in the room gasped.

"SCANDALOUS!", Pinkie yelled.

"What? C'mon, my main color is the freaking rainbow!"

They all continued to stay shocked.

Rainbow continued. "I mean, Pinkie has pink. Twilight has purple. AJ has orange. Fluttershy has yellow. And Rarity has white, which if I may say, is not racist at all, being that none of us have black." Rainbow smirked.

"Rainbow!", Twilight said, finally recovering her ability to speak.

"Well that's not fair!", Fluttershy yelled. "Color doesn't determine it!"

"Well how would you know?", Rainbow asked boldly, sticking her tongue out playfully.

"Cuz I'm lesbian too!", Fluttershy shouted. "Oh, I'm sorry.", she apologized shortly after, whispering. Carry on girls.", she said grinning sheepishly.

"SCANDALOUS," Pinkie yelled again.

"Okay then! I guess we just found out her sexual preference!", Rainbow yelled.

"Yes, I suppose we did," Rarity said in a much quieter voice.

After that there was a brief moment of quiet. And after that another awkward silence. And then after that, well, you get my point.

Eventually Rarity spoke up. "Are your, erm, preferences, why you don't want a special somebody?"

"It's part of it.", Rainbow admitted quietly.

"Oh.", Rarity said. "What's the other part?", she asked, not expecting the answer she would be given.

"Because c'mon! How many dykes could there possibly be in Canterlot High? Or even in Crystal Prep Academy?", Rainbow asked. "Huh? Do you guys know? How about in this city? In this state? Oh wait, it doesn't matter."

"Why ever would it not matter?", Rarity asked.

"Because look at me! I intimidate tons of people. If I went up to ask out a guy or girl, she would probably make it through the first date, then ditch me for some other type of girl. People like girls who are feminine, and pretty, not rough and tumble, and headstrong like me!"

Rarity hated to admit it, but Rainbow made an extremely challenging, valid point.

After that there was a brief moment of quiet. And after that another awkward silence. Again.

"Well then, we need someone who could pass on feminine and pretty girls. Someone who wouldn't give a care if they went out with a headstrong gal like you. Someone who could hold their own...", Rarity trailed off...

And they all stared at Applejack.

Applejack and Rainbow Dash both said one word at the same time. And that word was "No."

Given that reaction, Rarity seemed a little downhearted for a second before she stood up, and practically screeched, "I'VE GOT IT!"

All the people in the campus coffee place stared at her.

She sat down quickly, muttering, "I mean I believe I have a solution." Then she stood back up, and asked one final question.

"Rainbow Dash, are you sure you want me to find you your special someone?"

"What do you mean am I sure?", Rainbow said, rather loudly. "I never agreed to it in the first place!"

Rarity gave Rainbow puppy eyes. "Please," Rarity whined.

"Rainbow!", the others warned, before eyeing her disapprovingly and seeming to all communicate the same message telepathically.

'Rarity is excited don't ruin this for her.'

And how could Rainbow say no to Rarity after being assaulted by angry glares and a pretty much telepathic final warning? So she said the only thing she could say.

She said "yes."

Her friends cheered, especially little miss matchmaker. And she had a very bad feeling who Rarity would end up pairing her up with. I mean, there are no matchmaking restrictions when it comes to Crystal Prep. And Rarity was saying how she needed someone head strong. But it couldn't be who she thought it would be, right?

Soon she would find out just how wrong she was...
