Chapter 1

"Silver Shadow you're 18, shouldn't you rather look for mares then our stories?" Rainbow's husband answered

"Come on grandpa, you said you'd told me the rest of the story. Besides this time I'm not the only one." His grandson answered and opened the door and several ponies in the age of their grandson (from the looks of it) waited behind the door. The veterans looked at each other

"Fine." Rainbow said flatly and walked over to the couch followed by the rest

"Before we start thought here are the things what you need to know about us. We met in training and have already fought in several battles, I'm good at planning air and ground battles... he is a bit better at planning ground battles though." She instructed

"A bit?" Her husband asked, Rainbow just punched him

"It was the 5th day of Janequary 1058, The war has already been going on for several moths, Big Macintosh has already died and the first megaspell has already been deployed. Ponykind had more applications for the military then before, even though since the Littlehorn Massacre, ponies where ready to go on an all-out war, most didn't have the courage but that changed with Big Macintosh's death." Rainbow began the story

Several hours away from Reins

"You know... sending troops against an enemy that has three times the units stationed there is a fucking dumb idea." Rainbow said looking ahead as she sat on the tank

"Why's that?" Wild Strike asked as he looked out the tanks commanders hatch

"Besides the obvious? It's a waste of time, we should just send an army over the ocean and fuck them straight" She answered, she heard a chuckle from Wild Strike and the rest of the squad behind her "...What?" She asked with an raised eyebrow not getting why they laughed, the squad just kept laughing and shook their heads

"The Dead Colts Road!" Rainbow heard quietly in the background

"Hey turn that up, I wan't to hear that!" She exclaimed and Thunder Spark turned up the volume of the radio

"I hear You're out there, sayin': 'It won't happen to me'" the radio boomed out while the battalions made their way to Reins. Smoke poles rose there, we were told that the Crystal Empire had several battalions stationed there, they had very heavy loses the last days and from their 5 battalions only 2 under strengthened and under supplied battalions survived the onslaught on the city, they now have gotten a strong position a couple of miles away from the city. And with strong I mean a few makeshift bunkers and trenches plus a few fox holes... but it did the job, they were able to keep that position and hold the zebras back which of course wouldn't last forever, but they didn't because now we came, as soon we arrived there we hoofed out supplies in an effort to get the battalions to high strength again.

"So how long till the Vertibucks come?" Rainbow asked Thunderhoof

"Uh... I do believe a day or two, why?" He asked back

"Just asking so I know when I get my new armor." Rainbow answered

"Yeah... about that... why are you still runnin' around in that old armor? Why ain't you wearing the combat armor?" He asked scratching the back of his head and looked back at the clipboard he grasped with his magic

"I like this armor, it looks good and has enough armor in my opinion." She answered and looked over to the tank she just sat on

"Hey, Rainbow! Thunder Spark needs your help by the supply trucks!" Wild Strike shouted over to her, said mare just nodded and made her way over to the trucks, ponies already unloaded ammunition, food and medical supplies

"Where to?" Rainbow asked as she tapped on an ammo crate

"Into the biggest tent you can find." Thunder Wing answered, Rainbow nodded and grabbed the whole stack

"Follow me" Spark answered and started to walk to a lead the way the crates firmly on top of her forelegs as she walked only on her back hoofs "Stop!" Spark shouted over the noise and Rainbow stopped dead in her tracks "Wait here." He said simply and just as he wanted to walk in he heard a loud thud behind him, he looked back to see that Rainbow just let go of the crates and they crashed to the ground, the one at the bottom nearly cracking apart, Thunder Spark just facehoofed. He walked inside and signed Rainbow to follow

"Okay ma'am, you have to put the crate right here." The supply manager said pointing at some free space in the tents corner while looking at his clipboard, as he heard no affirmation from the mare he looked back. Rainbow was gone... A few seconds later she returned with the stack in tow, the manager looked at her with an raised eyebrow, and as Rainbow turned to leave

"Ma'am would ya be so kind and put both these stacks over into that corner?" He asked, Rainbow nodded grabbed both stacks and moved them into the corner, "Could you do me another favor? Could you take another stack from the trucks and bring one crate to every trench and bunker?" The manager asked, Rainbow looked back at Thunder Spark who looked around uninterested but as he saw Rainbow looking at him

"What?" He asked with an raised eyebrow

"Crate to every trench and bunker..." The manager said simply

"Oh yeah sure, Rainbow that's a job for you then." He answered and looked at Rainbow who just saluted and walked outside. Everypony looked as Rainbow Dash walked past them with a stack of ammo crates on her right hoof, every time she passed a trench or a bunker she just punched the left side of the bottom crate which literally just flew near the trench, she then stepped on the lock which held the crate locked and ripped it off. As she threw the last crate on the ground something went wrong... no pony knew what, but suddenly the crate exploded

"Rainbow..." Her husband said as he rolled his eyes

"What?" She asked with an raised eyebrow

"Don't even start making things up, I know for a fact that day was boring as fuck." He answered

"Ugh... fine... there you want it to sound 20 percent cooler and then ponies yell at ya..." She mumbled

"Like your father said, the day was pretty boring... same as the day after, they were mostly us carrying something... and with us I mean me, while he sat on his lazy ass doing nothing." She said getting a chuckle out of her grandson

"I wasn't 'doing nothing'" Rainbow's husband proclaimed

"Oh?  then tell me what did you do?" She asked curious

"I watched you carrying stuff, and since I did watch you that's not doing nothing, but doing something." He answered with a smirk, Rainbow looked at him with an raised eyebrow, then looked at the ground, then the ceiling  and then back to him

"Stop giving me headaches." She said flatly

"Fine, just continue your story." He replied

"Vertibucks eta: 2 minutes." Wild Strike shouted, everywhere soldiers ran around trying to get ammo, food and medical supplies. Tank crews filled up their fuel and ammo, some even grabbed a few machine guns, for obvious reasons, which where. If only one shot penetrates the tank your out, those members who survive have got guns to defend themselves.

"Incoming!" A soldier shouted, everypony looked up and saw how tons of Vertibucks came in fast and low and started to slow down and then hoover above them

"Okay everypony, make so space so they can land!" Wild Strike shouted and only a few seconds later there was a field big enough for every single Vertibuck to land, as soon as that happened soldiers started to refuel them. Soldiers started to unload the rest supplies the Bucks carried

"Private Rainbow Dash!" A soldier shouted, a few second later the said mare stood before the soldier and saluted

"The MAS and MWT told me to bring ya this." The soldier shouted over the noise the Vertibucks made as some of them still landed. The soldier led Rainbow to the back of the Vertibuck and open it, to reveal the armor. Rainbow Dash squealed as she saw her armor and ran in only a second later "Ma'am, the head of the MWT also told me to give you this." He added as he hoofed the mare a visor, which she just grabbed and put on like she used to with her sunglasses, and a recording started

"Hey Rainbow, AJ here, ah heard ya needed some modifications on the armor, all of 'em are on now. Ta open the armor ya just have ta say: Armor open up, it's only patched in for your voice alone, you can modify everything your liking... when it goes for the HUD and commands that is, also Guns have ta be mounted manually... ohh and  ya got something like holsters on the armors flanks, those will hold the guns so ya can do... whatever ya do when not in combat. Like ya already know Twi put some spells on the armor to make it lighter and more sturdy, by the by, yer ammo bags got some sort of spell which makes them near infinite size and will do everything themselves, so don't worry about ammunition overload or sorting or anything like that." Applejack instructed

"It's not infinite AJ, it's only far more bigger on the inside then the outside... just pretend you have like several thousand bags on your back." Twilight cut in

"There ya have it Rainbow, we also have the instructions copied into the armors memory core, so ya know how ta use it... but since both of us know yer not goin' ta read it, Twi just titled the different things like weaponry and such... well that's it then. Good luck on the battlefield, and send me a letter or a message if ya got problems with the armor. Cya then. Before I forget theres now a shield around your head since you ddidn't wanted a helmet, the shield can take lot's and lot's of punishment, but once down it will need days to recharge and reform, so becareful ... yeah that all, cya then" Just before the recording ended "See you again Rainbow!" She heard Twilight shout. Rainbow gave a chuckle and then looked at the armor

"Armor, open up." She said and a second later the armor opened on top, Rainbow flew up and looked inside and smiled, they really modified the inside, she jumped inside all her limps being pretty much guided to where they needed to be and as soon we was inside and ready the armor closed and she started to walk outside. With every step she took the Vertibuck shook and bounced a bit, as soon as she was outside she stood up on her hind legs

"Now then, where are the guns?" She asked as she moved her fingers, much more smoothly that in the old armor

"Right here ma'am" one of the MWT combat engineers said and pointed at the 3 guns.

"Which one get's mounted first?" She asked

"The sniper rifle, it's the hardest one." One of the combat engineer answered. The two engineers tried to move the weapon up to her shoulder but climbing a ladder und carrying about 60 kilo too, pretty much impossible. Rainbow grabbed the gun and held it to the top of the ladder

"Just grab the weapon and move it to where you need it I hold the weight." She said and one of the engineers climbed the ladder and started to mount the gun, the second one gave him the tools

"Alright, ya can let go of the gun, just need the ammo belt now." He said as he pointed at one of the the middle ammo belt

"Why are they made out of metal?" Rainbow asked as she grabbed the belt

"They'll keep and hold the bullets in order, so they don't just fly around freely." One of them answered

"Ya ever shot a little MG with a lose ammo belt?" The other one asked, Rainbow nodded "You remember how the belt was flying around?" He asked, and once again Rainbow nodded "This thing is there to make that that won't happen." He answered

"Ahh, makes sense." Rainbow said and gave one ending to the engineer on the ladder and she held the other end, as she heard a click

"Okay gimme the other end." The one on the ladder said, Rainbow heard another click "Okay, this one is done." He said

"Okay which gun next?" Rainbow asked

"None, gonna need the belts first." The engineer on the ladder answered, She grabbed both belts and held them up to the earth pony on the ladder

"Hold the belts where ya want the weapons ta be, the bigger belt is for the missile launcher." He explained, Rainbow nodded and moved the bigger belt to her left hoof and the smaller belt to her right hoof. The engineer grabbed the left one and hooked it into the ammo box on the lower left corner, he then grabbed the right belt and hooked that into the right lower corner of the box, he then got down from the ladder

"Right, now grab the weapons and let us do the rest." He instructed. Rainbow nodded and grabbed the missile launcher with her left hoof and the minigun with her right hoof. both engineers moved the ammo belts into position and hooked them up, now she was near combat ready, only the ammo left.

"Ma'am, we're gonna need ya help again, you need one hoof free for that though" One of the engineers shouted, Rainbow Dash holstered her guns and walked over to them "Yer gonna need to hold up the ammo crates." He said and pointed at several stacks of ammo crates, Rainbow chuckled and grabbed the first stack and held it up so they could put the ammo in the box on her back. It took them several minutes to put all the ammo into the box, but they finally managed it.

"Okay, done. You have to use the minigun once, for bullets to get into the barrel." One of them shouted up. Rainbow nodded

"I'm gonna get the chance as soon as I see enemies, don't worry... also you don't need to shout" she answered and walked out the tent she saw how the officers walked out of theirs, they seem to be set and ready to move out

"Wow! Sir!" She heard a shout and hoofsteps closing in on her "Sir, I seriously need to photograph ya, would be good material to-" He said as he could himself off as the MARE looked at him, he gulped

"Say again, I couldn't really hear you." Rainbow said

"I said I need a photo for some material, you seem to be the best bet... ma'am" He replied looking a bit scared

"Sure" She replied flatly

"Great, just make an epic stance as if your ready to fuck some shit up and I'm gonna take it." He answered and made himself ready. As Rainbow was ready a flash blinded her

"This is a great one thanks, ma'am." He said saluted and walked away and got into a jeep which drove off with most of the trucks in the direction of Canterlot

"Okay, everypony. Let's move out and kick some Zebra ass!" One of the officers shouted and seconds later all engines started, Vertibucks got into the air, tanks went in formation and all soldiers where on the remaining trucks, and then we moved out. Rainbow sat in the same Vertibuck which brought in her armor, only 3 of these babies have been build, they are specifically designed for super heavy lifting.
