The Adventures Begin Part 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// 1. The Adventures Begin Part 1 The two changelings pushed the mare and stallion forward into the hive. In front of them stood every single changeling that was inside. Eventually, one changeling wearing armor flew down right in front of the crowd, and confronted at the two changelings that brought the earth ponies in. "What is going on here?" he questioned. "We caught these two trespassing General Buzz Kill," answered one of the changelings behind the two terrified ponies. Buzz Kill then turned his attention towards the stallion. "Explain to me why you two were trespassing," he ordered. "W-we didn't know we were trespassing," the stallion stuttered, "We were travelings through the woods." "He's right," the mare pitched in, "We didn't know your hive was anywhere near where we were going." "True, a lot of our hives are unknown to you ponies," said Buzz Kill, "Which brings us to the problem: How do we know that you won't tell others about us?" "We won't!" the stallion responded, "We promise!" Buzz Kill stared at both of them in silence. After a full minute, he spoke. "I guess that's something you're going to have to convince the Queen," he said with and evil smile, "Take them to the dungeon!" Following their order, the two changelings grabbed the two ponies. "No! Please!" screamed the mare, "You can't!" The crowd of changelings watched as the two ponies were taken away somewhere else within. Once they were gone, the entire crowd flew off into their own separate parts of the hive. That is, except for one young female changeling. Her name is Lilly Bug. Lilly has the body structure of a normal filly, but was black as any other changeling with blueish green hair that was slanted up at the top of her head and had bulging green eyes with blue pupils. At the moment, the most noticeable feature was a worried look as she stared at where the two ponies were taken away. Later that day: Somewhere in the hive, Lilly and boy changeling that looked like a smaller version of an average drone were playing with what looked like a toy Twilight Sparkle and a toy Queen Chrysalis. Well, at least the young boy was playing, where Lilly was just looking down at the Twilight Sparkle toy, clearly not paying attention. "'You can't stop me this time Twilight Sparkle!'" the boy said for his toy Queen Chrysalis. He looked up and finally realized that Lilly wasn't doing anything. "Lilly!" The boy wined. Getting her attention, Lily looked up. "You're supposed to make Princess Twilight beg for mercy," he told her. "Oh! Sorry Buzz-ter," Lilly responded, "A-hem-'No Queen Chrysalis! I only wanted your friendship!'" "'That was where you made your first and final mistake princess,'" Buzz-ter said through his toy, "'A changeling could never be friends with a weak, stupid, and fat pony like you!" Buzz-ter then knocked away the toy Twilight Sparkle, causing it to hit the ground below. "'Oh no!'" Lilly pretended to scream, "'You defeated me once again your wonderfulness! I wish I was as smart and beautiful like you so I could see this coming! Too bad that I'm just a dumb and ugly pony! And now I'm dead.'" "Victory for the hive!" Buzz-ter cheered. He then looked at Lilly to see that she had an unamused look on her face. "Are you alright Lilly?" he asked, "You don't look like you're having fun playing 'Conquest of Chrysalis'." "I'm really sorry Buzz-ter" Lilly apologized, "After this morning I've been thinking." "About what?" Buzz-ter wondered. "Well, it's just that...never mind," Lilly said as she picked up the toy. "Never mind what?" Buzz-ter asked. "It's just that...You remember those ponies from this morning?" Lilly asked. "Of course!" Buzz-ter responded, "They got what they deserved for thinking they can just trespass on our land." "But they said that they didn't know our that 'land' was here," Lilly pointed out. "A likely story," Buzz-ter said, "Clearly they were lying so they can go tell their dumb princess about where our hive is. It's just like Queen Chrysalis said: Never trust a stupid pony." "If they're so stupid, then how could they come up with a plan like that?" Lilly asked. "Clearly they're stupid in a way that they thought they could get away with it," Buzz-ter explained with a hint of annoyance, "What's wrong with you today? Why are you questioning everything?" "Because maybe we should question things," Lilly told him, "Queen Chrysalis keeps telling us that we should hate the ponies because their stupid and ugly. Why should we hate something that's stupid and ugly?" "Obviously because their stupid and ugly," Buzz-ter explained. "But that's not how things should be," Lilly told him, "We shouldn't hate others for their looks and intelligence. We should try-I don't know-be friends with them." "Why would we be friends with dumb ugly ponies?" Buzz-ter asked. Once he said that, Lilly sighed. "Because looks and intelligence don't matter when making a friend," Lilly explained, "Just because someone is ugly on the outside, doesn't mean there isn't beauty within. And just because someone might seem dumb, only means that they have their own way of thinking." "But the ponies are mean!" Buzz-ter exclaimed, "They threw Queen Chrysalis and her best army out of Canterlot, only because she was finding a place for her changelings to live in peace." "But what if they had a reason for being mean?" Lilly asked, "I mean-Queen Chrysalis did captured and pretended to be a Princess to fool the ponies. Don't you think that makes us seem like the bad guys instead of them?" "We're not the bad guys!" Buzz-ter yelled, "The mean and ugly ponies are the bad guys. And if you can't see that, then we're not friends anymore!" He then took his Twilight Sparkle toy away from Lilly and walked away. Once he was gone, Lilly looked down and sighed. "He's perfectly reasonable you know," said a familiar voice. Recognizing it, Lilly turned around to see General Buzz Kill behind her. "General Buzz Kill!" Lilly exclaimed with fear, "What are you doing here?" "Just passing through," he answered, "I couldn't help but overhear how disobedient you sounded when talking to your little friend." "I wasn't being disobedient sir!" Lilly said with a fake smile. "Oh really?" Buzz Kill asked, "Then why were you talking about how we're the bad guys?" "Um...I didn't really mean that," Lilly lied, "I was just trying to convince Buzz-ter that we-" "Could be friends with the ponies?" Buzz Kill finished for her. Lilly didn't know what to say. All she could do is look down in shame. "It's interesting that you would say that," Buzz Kill said as he circled Lilly, "If we really could be friends with those ponies, then why aren't we friends with them now? Why is it that those 'possible friends' get to live in fancy castles where we get to be exiled into the outskirts of Equestria?" "Because we did horrible things to them in the past?" Lilly asked. She soon realized that was a mistake because the general got up close to Lilly's face at this point. "Because they leave us with no choice!" he said with anger, "Every single 'horrible thing' we've done in the past was done because they think we're evil, when in reality, they are." "How?" Lilly asked. Getting annoyed, Buzz Kill's horn started to glow, showing that that he was ready to blast the little girl. However, it started to dim down. Once he was more calm, Buzz Kill looked at her with an evil grin. "That's a good question," he lied, "So good, you can ask it to the Queen herself." "What?!" Lilly asked in fear. "Well I don't know how to answer your question," Buzz Kill lied again, "But I'm sure she will. In fact, I'm sure that she would be just so darn happy to know that one of her young subjects is questioning her rule." "I'm not questioning her rule!" Lilly exclaimed. "Why of coarse you are," Buzz Kill told her, "I mean, aren't you the one who said that we're actually the bad guys?" "I take it back!" Lilly lied with another fake smile, "We're not the bad guys. We're the misunderstood community who did terrible things because we had to." "You really think that?" Buzz Kill asked, clearly knowing that she didn't. "Of coarse!" Lilly lied again. Hearing that, Buzz Kill got up into her face again. "Then don't let catch you talking like that again," he warned her, "The Queen is coming from the main hive tomorrow to give her judgement on those ponies from this morning. When I talk to her, I might let her know that something else is wrong." "I promise I won't talk like that again," Lilly said. '-Or at least not out loud' she thought to herself. "Good," Buzz Kill said as he started to walk away, "Because I want her in a good mood when I suggest the death penalty." "What?!" Lilly exclaimed. This caused Buzz Kill to turn around and face her again. "If I didn't know any better, it sort of sounds like you're concerned for those ponies," he said with a raised eyebrow. "Did I?" Lilly asked with fake smile, "I meant to ask it in a way to make sure I heard you correctly." Buzz Kill's face showed that he didn't believe her. "Well you should have heard me correctly," he told her, "True sucking the love out of both of the ponies is a slow death, but it's still been so long since we would just blast a prisoner. That wouldn't be a problem for you would it?" "No sir." Lilly lied. "Good," Buzz Kill said as he continued to walk away, "And let's consider this strike two. One more, and I'll have a chat with the Queen about you." Once he was gone, Lilly was left alone with her own thoughts. 'I don't care if it'll get me in trouble,' she thought, 'I will not just stand by and let those poor ponies die.' Later that night: The two ponies sat in the darkness of their dungeon. The only light they had was a little glimmer from a window high above them, and the only exit was a wooden door with two guards on the other side. "What do you think they're going to do to us?" the mare asked with tears in her eyes. "I don't know," the stallion confessed, "And to be honest, I don't to know." The mare started to tear up even more. This caused the stallion to scoot closer and tried to comfort her. For a while, the two of them sat down as the mare would silently cry into the stallions chest. "What are you doing here?" one of the guards asked. Curious on what was going on, the two ponies turned their heads towards the door. "I would like to see the prisoners," said the voice of a little girl. "Why would you want to see the prisoners?" asked the guard. "And how did you get down here in the first place?" the first guard asked. "Simple," the little girl explained, "I told the guy guarding the entrance of the dungeon that this bag I have with me is filled with things to torture the two ponies inside." "Torture?!" the mare asked in fear. "Torture?" asked one of the guards. "That's right," the girl asked, "So may I please go in?" It was silent on the other side, showing that both of the guards were contemplating on the decision. "Show me what's inside the bag," one of the guards ordered after a while. "What?" the little girl asked. "You heard me," the guard said, "That first guy might be dumb enough to just let you through, but we're not." "Yeah," the other guard pitched in, "We actually want to know that what you have in that bag is something that will actually torture those two inside." "Oh...um-O-okay," the girl said nervously, "Let me just put this bag down and- I'M SORRY!" The ponies heard what sounded like two little blasts of energy, followed up with the sound of two bodies falling down. "I am sooooo sorry," the little girl said, "Luckily, all I can do is just knock you out. Not that you can understand me right now because-well-your knocked out." Following the sounds, the ponies could tell that the little girl grabbed the keys and heard the little click, sounding like she unlocked the door. The door was then pushed open, as revealed a little female changeling. "Hi," she said with a smile, "My name is Lilly." The ponies just sat where they were, with confused looks on their faces. "Um...hi Lilly?" the stallion said with confusion. "Are-are you really going to torture us?" The mare asked. "Of coarse not," Lilly said as she dragged in a small duffel bag, "I'm here to save you." "Save us?" the mare asked in shock. "How do we know this isn't a trick made by you evil changelings?" the stallion asked in anger. "Because I'm actually nice," Lilly explained, "And I know that you really didn't mean to do anything bad. Right?" The ponies stared at her in silence. After a while, they both nodded, showing that Lilly was right. "Alright then," Lilly said with a bigger smile, "Now that we all know that everyone in this room is good, it's time to put my rescue plan into action." Lilly then pushed the duffel bag forward. "In this bag are your disguises," Lilly explained. "Disguises?" the stallion repeated as he stared down at the bag. "Yep," said Lilly, "Sorry that they're a little hastily made, but I think they should be good enough to get you both out of the hive." "But what about the guard at the entrance?" the mare asked, "Won't he get suspicious about two different changelings walking out of the dungeon." "Oh don't worry," Lilly reassured her, "I also lied about seeing the guard. I actually came in through a secret entrance." "There's a secret entrance?" the stallion asked. "Yep," Lilly answered, "The young changelings use it to sneak in and make fun of the prisoners. I never joined in because that sounds mean, but I know that saving you two is a much better reason to use it." "That sounds perfect!" the mare exclaimed with glee, "Thank you so much." "You're very welcome," Lilly said, "Now let's get out of here." Lilly poked her head out of a small hole in a wall of a huge part of the hive. After looking both ways to make sure that the coast was clear, she walked out. "It's all clear," Lilly said as she motioned for the two ponies to come out too. The were both wearing poorly sewn black outfits with cardboard wings colored blue and unconvincing masks that looked like the head of a changeling. "We appreciate your help," the stallion said, "But I don't think these costumes are going to fool anyone." "I'm sorry, but didn't have enough time to make them convincing," Lilly apologized, "I had to get them done by tonight because the two of you could be executed tomorrow." "EXECUTED?!" the mare screamed. She was then quickly hushed by the other two. "Besides," Lilly continued, "They don't have to be convincing to anyone up close. They just have to be convincing enough from a distance. Does that make sense?" The ponies both gave a quick nod to show that they understood. "Good," said Lilly, "Now follow me." Lilly and the ponies both slowly walked through the hive. They got a few glances by other changelings, but luckily none of them were too suspicious. Eventually they walked towards the entrance of the hive. Once there, Lilly lead them outside where there was a large forest ahead. "Make sure to wear those costumes a few miles out," Lilly said once they were outside, "That way if any changeling finds you close to the hive, they won't bring you back." "Okay," said the stallion. "Thanks again for helping," the mare said as she gave Lilly a small hug, "If there's anything we can do to help you, just let us know." "Now that you mention it, could you pretty please not tell anybody about my hive?" Lilly requested. "If changelings can actually be nice like you, then you've got a deal," the stallion promised. Both him and the mare then ran off in the opposite direction of the hive. Lilly on the other hand went back inside. 'That went smoothly' she thought to herself as she walked through, 'I helped those nice ponies, and our hive won't be in any danger. Best of all, I didn't get in any trouble with General Buzz Kill or the Queen! Not paying attention, Lilly bumped into something. Or rather, someone. "Strike three," General Buzz Kill said as he looked down at Lilly, "Now you're in trouble." Lilly sat in the middle of the main part of the hive where the general takes care of federal business within. "Not only did you assault two of our best guards, but you also let loose two earth ponies who threaten the safety of our hive," Buzz Kill said as he paced around Lilly. "Don't worry," Lilly said, "I had them promise that-" "SHUT YOUR MOUTH!" Buzz Kill ordered. Lilly then did what she was told out of fear of being harmed. Doing so, Buzz Kill continued to pace. "I gave you two, TWO, warnings to not interfere any further," he said, "And what did you do?" Lilly remained silent for a moment. "I-I interfered," she said quitely. "YOU INTERFERED!" Buzz Kill repeated, "Like a little rebel, you thought that you could get away with your little interference. But like the dumb little girl you are, you made a mistake. You didn't expect big bad Buzz Kill to find the knocked out guards did you?" Lilly was silent. "Did you?" Buzz Kill asked again, this time with a little more anger in his voice. "...No," Lilly said quietly, "I didn't." "Because you're what?" Buzz Kill asked. "Because I'm a stupid little girl," Lilly said with tears in her eyes. "You darn right you are," Buzz Kill said, "And for your sake, you better hope that the scouts I sent out will find our ex-prisoners." "Sir," said a voice. "WHAT!" Buzz Kill screamed. Turning around, he saw the two scouts in front of the entrance of his part of the hive. "We have bad news, and even worse news," one of them said. Buzz Kill sighed once hearing this. "What's the bad news?" he asked, although he already knew. "The bad news is that the prisoners escaped," the other scout said. "Oh well isn't that just GREAT!" he yelled sarcastically as he turned back towards Lilly, "I hope you realize that once the Queen get's here tomorrow, I will-" "You will what general?" asked a powerful voice. Buzz Kill's eyes widened as he turned around to see Queen Chrysalis standing at the entrance with a furious look on her face. "Y-your highness," Buzz Kill stuttered, "Your here early." "That's the worse news," one of the scouts said. "I don't see how?" Chrysalis asked, "Me being here early can only be worse than losing prisoners when they were lost on your watch. So tell me general: What did you do?" "I didn't do anything!" Buzz Kill said with fear, "It was her fault!" He then pointed at Lilly, who looked even more afraid than Buzz Kill. "You expect me to believe that a youngling is responsible for this?" the Queen asked. "SHE IS!" Buzz Kill exclaimed, "I mean-Why else would she be here your highness?" "I don't know," Chrysalis admitted. She then walked past Buzz Kill, and stopped right in front of Lilly. "Tell me little one," said Chrysalis, "What did you do wrong?" Lilly was once again silent. "You can tell me," Chrysalis reassured Lilly, "I won't hurt you. Yet." Lilly gulped. "I-I-I-I did-didn't do anything wrong," she stuttered. "SHE'S LYING!" Buzz Kill yelled. "Be quite and hope that you won't be the one who get's punished!" Queen Chrysalis ordered. Getting the message, Buzz Kill remained silent. Chrysalis then turned her attention back towards Lilly. "I want you to listen to me," Chrysalis ordered, "I can sense your fear, and I know that you are lying. So tell me: What. Did. You. Do wrong?" Lilly gulped again. "I meant to say that I didn't do anything morally wrong your highness," she admitted, "Yes I freed the ponies, but only because-" "You don't have to continue," Chrysalis interrupted, "I've heard enough. Now let's talk about your punishment." "But you don't have to worry!" Lilly continued, "They promised that they wouldn't tell others about the hive!" "You trust ponies that much?" Chrysalis said with a raised eyebrow. "Of coarse!" Lilly told her. Queen Chrysalis remained silent for a while, until an evil smile crept onto her face. "Then you wouldn't mind living with them," she said evilly. "What?" Lilly asked in confusion. "From here on out, you are here by exiled from this and any other hive within Equestria," Chrysalis ordered. "WHAT?!" Lilly exclaimed. "Take her away," the Queen told the two scouts. Doing as she said, the two lifted Lilly, and carried her out. "NO!" Lilly screamed, "I'm sorry that I disobeyed! I'll never do it again! I promise!" "Many apologies for questioning your orders your highness," said Buzz Kill, "But won't she just tell others about this hive?" "She won't," Chrysalis assured him, "Because she's too nice to hurt her fellow changelings. Besides, ponies would just kill her if she gets to close." "But what if she turns into a pony?" Buzz Kill asked. Chrysalis then faced him at this point. "No pony would ever believe the tales of a young filly General," She explained, "And one more thing: Consider this strike two." "Strike two?" Buzz questioned, "What do you mean by strike two?" "One strike for letting this happen in the first place, and another for questioning my orders," Chrysalis explained, "One more, and you shall be demoted, or worse. Do I make myself clear?" Buzz Kill Gulped. "Of course your highness," he answered nervously. "Good," said Chrysalis, "I would hate to deal with another insubordinate." Lilly landed on her face when the scouts literally threw her out at the entrance. She then got up, and turned towards them. "Please don't this!" she begged, "I'll have nowhere else to go." "That's not our problem," one of the scouts said. They both stood there, clearly waiting until Lilly would leave. Getting the message, she got up, turned around towards the woods and walked away. She didn't turn back. She couldn't turn back. She just walked and walked for what felt like hours. 'Maybe getting exiled won't be that bad,' Lilly thought to herself as she continued to walk, 'Maybe I'll run into those two ponies again. They might be able to help me. Or maybe some pony else would. If I could become friends with those two, I could become friends with any one right?' After a little more walking, Lilly stopped at a wooden sign in front of her that said 'Turn Back' in red paint. Looking over the sign, she saw nothing but trees. Shrugging, Lilly walked around it and continue walking. As she continued, she past another sign that said 'Stay Away' and another that said 'Danger Ahead'. Lilly got nervous at this point, but for some reason she felt like she should just keep walking. Eventually she stopped at a wooden fence with a sign that said 'Last Chance'. Climbing the fence a little bit, she saw nothing more than a clearing in front of a big dark cave. In the cave, she could hear the sound of someone snoring. Gulping, Lilly hopped over the fence. "Hello?" she called out. The snoring stopped, and was replaced with the sound of something growling. Nothing happened for a while, until a pair of glowing blue eyes in the cave looked back at Lilly in anger. "Um...I'm sorry that I woke you up," Lilly apologized. "Oh you're going to be sorry alright," said a male voice. "I don't want any trouble," Lilly explained as she backed away from the cave, "I just want to ask for some help." After saying that, the blue eyes then squinted at her. Then the creature that owned them walked out of the cave. The moonlight revealed that it looked like a dragon with the size of normal stallion. He had long muzzle, a dragon's tail, a pair of wings, and black spikes that where at the top of his head and got smaller as they got to the end of his flank. His legs looked similar to a pony's, but with small dragon hands at the end of them. But the weirdest thing about the creature, was that instead of having scales like a dragon, he instead had a green coat over his body. "Why would I ever help a changeling like you?" the creature asked as he stopped in front of Lilly. To be continued. Author's Note Before you complain about the names of the changelings, I just want to point out that it's really hard for me to come up with names for them. I'm leaving this story alone for a while to see how much people like it, so I can try to turn into a continues thing if they do.
