It was that time of year again Hearthswarming the day of fun and games and family. What made this year more exciting than the last, was that all the girls' family had gotten invited to join the celebration in the castle. Surprisingly, even a certain blue pegasus' father. Everypony was having conversations and fun except for one who was on his own Rainbow Dash's dad. Rainbow had told everypony about her mother passing when Rainbow was just a foal. So Twilight decided to make sure Rainbow's dad was okay.

“Hi Mr Dash thanks for coming again.” Twilight said.

“No problem Princess I just wish my wife could be here.” He replied

“Look I can't really imagine what you are going through but I want you to know that everypony here will make you feel like she is here.”

“Thanks Princess but it's not the same. It is why the only thing I want every Hearthswarming is for Rainbow and Firefly to make up.”

“Make up? What are you talking about Mr Dash?”

“Rainbow is still telling ponies her mother has passed away should have known.”

“Wait Rainbow lied to us.”

“Yes Princess my wife is alive and well. It's just her and Rainbow haven't been talking to each other for years.”

“Why?”

Flashback

“It all started when first decided that she wanted to be a Wonderbolt. When Rainbow was very young me and Firefly took her to her first Wonderbolt show. Rainbow was instantly hooked. I remember her standing on my head to get a better look. After the show as we were flying home Rainbow said it for the first time.”

“Mom, Dad when I grow up I’m going to be a Wonderbolt.” young Rainbow exclaimed with joy and excitement.

“No absolutely no.” Firefly replied.

“Rainbow was furious with her mother's answer which led to a fight.” Rainbow's Dad continued telling Twilight.

“What do you mean no?” young Rainbow asked confused.

“I mean I won't allow you to become a Wonderbolt.” Firefly replied.

“Mom it's my dream now you can't stop me.”

“Yes I can I am your mother now I won't hear anymore of this nonsense.”

"Rainbow flew home crying the next day I enrolled her in junior speedsters flight school and Rainbow hasn't seen or spoken to Firefly since.” Rainbow's Dad finished telling Twilight. Twilight was shocked to hear this.

“Well that is going to change you go and get Ms Dash and we'll get her and Rainbow to make up."

Rainbow's Dad smiled in joy at Twilight’s idea and took off as fast as he could for Cloudsdale to get Firefly. It didn't take long for him to return.

“Princess.” Rainbow's Dad said to let Twilight know he was back

“ Good that was quick.” Twilight replied.

“Hey Rainbow didn't get her great flying speed from nowhere. Firefly is in the next room with Speed.”

“Who?”

“Her younger brother. Let me guess you didn't know. I sent Rainbow a letter when he was born hoping she would come to see him and maybe she would make up with Firefly but she never showed.”

“Rainbow has a brother. Even more reason to get them to make up now. Go get Ms Dash.” said to Rainbow's Dad before he left the room.

Twilight walked over to Rainbow.

"Rainbow if you put on the blindfold I'll give your surprise gift now." Twilight said to Rainbow.

"Okay this is really awesome of you Twilight." Rainbow replied with excitement and anticipation.

Rainbow's Dad called in Firefly and Speed Demon. Meanwhile Twilight was leading a blindfolded Rainbow to a special Hearthswarming gift.

“Twilight you didn't need to get me a special gift.” Rainbow said.

“No Rainbow your dad and I agree you need this.”

“Oh this is from my dad too I did even think you and my dad had said a half a sentence. Awesome."

Twilight removed Rainbow's blindfolded and her excitement and anticipation turned to rage and anger when she saw her mother for the first time in years.

“Mom? What are you doing here?” Rainbow asked in shock and awe.

“Your father said you wanted to see me.” She replied.

“Well that depends on what you think I became a Wonderbolt despite you. If that bothers you then you can just fly back to Cloudsdale.”

Firefly walked over to and then grabbed Rainbow in a hug and began crying.

“Oh Rainbow honey I was wrong to reject you from chasing your dream is it possible for you to forgive me.”

Rainbow tried her hardest but couldn't stop from crying herself.

“I can mom I'm sorry.”

“I'm sorry too I love you.”

"I love you too."

"Mom is this my Sister?" Speed asked.

"Yes Speed this is Rainbow Dash. Rainbow this is your younger brother Speed Demon." Firefly said to her son.

"Hi sis are you really a Wonderbolt?" He asked

"Yes I am and my stallonfriend Soarin is a Wonderbolt as well." Rainbow replied.

"Wow that's cool." Speed replied.

"Yes it is."

"Rainbow what was that about a stallonfriend?" Firefly asked.

"I have one." She replied.

"Well do you think I'll get to meet him?"

"He's over there."

Rainbow point to Soarin.

"The one eating the pie."

"Yeah that's him. He love apple pie and my friend Applejack enjoys the business and profit "

"I'll go over when he's finished.

"Hey Speed see those three fillies over there if you go over and hang out with them." Rainbow said point at the cutie mark crusaders.

"Okay sis." Speed said before head over to the cutie mark crusaders.

"Hi my name is Speed Demon I'm Rainbow Dash's brother." Speed said before being stopped.

"Rainbow has a brother?" Apple Bloom asked.

"How come Rainbow never mentioned you before?" Scootaloo asked.

"Rarity told me that Rainbow's mom passed away did Dash dad remarry?" Sweetie Belle asked.

"He is my brother, the reason i didn't mention him is because me and my mom weren't speaking terms until today which is why I told a little fib about her have passed. Do you three understand?" Rainbow interjected.

"Kind of." answered Sweetie Belle with Scootaloo and Apple Bloom adding nodes.

"Okay so I can count on you three to make him feel welcome."

"You can always count on me Rainbow Dash." Scootaloo exclaimed.

"Cool."

All most everypony was crying tears of joy for the best Hearthswarming gift ever the gift of family.
