First there was  Derpy who was along side me, I know I was not much older than a foal, but if I had my Cutie Mark and could fly, I am old enough to date Derpy. She was smart, attractive, and plain adorable. She had a really bad vocal issue and her voice was a bit odd, but just because  you cant verbalize how smart you are does not mean you arent. I was also like that, my voice was okay but every smart thought  I tried to use felt like pushing a brick through a drinking straw. Probably why I passed the first year of secondary school with D's. I looked out the window and the first thing I see is a train infront of is going at a slower speed, before I could even consider pulling the emergency break we colided and I jumped on Derpy and huddled over her, the last thing I remember was the entire car leaning to the right. I woke up, Derpy laying on my chest. My head throbbed as a picked up Derpy and set her on my back, vision going white I walked along the isle of the overturned train and found my mom and dad. "Mom? Dad? Wak-" she looked at me, a piece of rebar stick through her abdomen. "Mom is going to be alright, So is dad, but I need to to go and save yourself. Help will get here I know it." She said. "MOM! NO! I AM GOING TO ST-" She looked at me. tears welling in her eyes. "Sticks, I love you okay? I promise I will be okay. There is a town near here, JUST GO NOW!" I knew she was lying, but I left anyway, there was no convincing her. "By mom.... I love you SO much." She smiled and looked at me. "I love you too." I carried Derpy out of the window and dragged Photo Phinish behind me. Photo must have been struck on the head because she was a total jerk from then on. I turned my attention to Derpy who was waking up. "Uhg... What happened? Sticky?" I was about to respond but I heard a crash, I turned around and the trains colapsed, driving the rebar through my mom and stabbing it through her skull. "No!" I yelled, tearing up. "BUCKIGN CELESTIA DAMMIT! NO! NO! NO!" I screamed, my voice cracking. I fell back on my haunches, looking down at the ground blankly. "No..." Derpy came over to me and wrapped her forelegs around my chest, hugging me. She looked into my eyes, they were the most beautiful things I have ever seen, despite having gone crossed from the crash, they still retained their beauty. "Sticks." She said "Oh buck no..." "Sticks" "Celestia n-" I was interupted by being dragged into a kiss. It seemed to last forever. Once it finally broke she spoke. "Sticks I love you." I looked at her, shocked, happy, and sad at the same time. "I love you too Derpy." I said. "I always have, I just never sai-" "Hush" she said, hugging me. "We have to get out of here." I got up and pointed my forehoof to the city about a quarter-mile away from the crash. We walked to the town and stopped at a bakery, "Feel like some food, Sticks?" "Okay, what do you want?" "Muffins" She stated plainly. After we got some muffins and sat down at a booth, I said. "I never thought this would go badly, just a simple train ride, but the odds of life and death show no mercy." Our conversation was halted by a loud boom. After a little while two pegisi entered the store. One sporting a jersey and a medal titled "Best young fliers competition 1st" and the other carrying saddlebags stuffed with flowers. The mare who we bought the food from came up to the counter. "Hi Rainbow, hi fluttershy. I heard you won." Rainbow Dash gave a victorious smile and Fluttershy looked down. They walked up to me and Derpy. "Hey, are you new? I havent seen you around ponyville." I looked up "Yeah, my name is Sticks. Only people who hate me call me Sticky, so dont use that."  She smiled and stuck out a hoof, I bumbed it. "My name is Rainbow Dash, winner of the best young fliers competition and first ever pony to do the sonic rainboom. But call me Rainbow okay? Nice to meet you."  I nodded. "Say" she added. "Why are your eyes all teared up, something wrong, bro?" I looked down at the table, frowning. "I dont wanna talk about it okay? It is just too soon." She toned down a bit. "Well, can I sit here with my friend? Come on." She gestured to her friend. "Introduce yourself." She walked over and spoke. "Hi my n....." What was that?" I asked "My name is flutter..." I broke eye contact to see if it would help. "Didnt catch that." "Fluttershy." She whispered at barley audiable volume. "Well hi Fluttershy, my name is Sticks, and this is Derpy." "Well hi Derpy." Rainbow said. Derpy waved. "Hi." Rainbow Dash held back a snicker. They all sat down at the booth and began small talk. Simple things like what they plan to do living in Ponyville and such. After confessing that we had no bits and no home Rainbow offered to let us stay at her place. "Yeah, Sticks you seem pretty cool. You know what? You can crash at my place till you get back on your feet." I looked at her. "Oh thank you so much, Dash. I will pay you back I swear." "Oh no need dude, I got room so it is all good, no fees required. "Wait." I said. "Wont your parents care?" "I ran away a long time ago Sticks, I live on my own." She announced. "Parents wanted me to be a salespony, but I did not want to do that. I would not of left if they just let me be and do what I wanted to do with my life." She looked at the time. "Yeah well it is getting late, lets get to my place, Shy, wanna stay over too?" She looked up from her side of the table. "Oh okay, that would be great." She said awkwardly quiet. So they all got up and flew to Dash's cloud home. "You can take the guest room with your friend Derpy. But you will have to share a bed, that okay Sticks?" "Yeah I guess" I said "Is that okay with you Derps?" I asked. "Yeah, its fine with me." Rainbow yawned  "Well I guess I will be heading to bed, night." "Night." I said back as I went into the guest room. We sat on the cloud bed and relaxed, clearing our heads. I flicked off the lamp and lie down on my side. I could not see but I knew Derpy was doing the same thing. I pulled her in to a hug and we sat there in an embrace until we drifted off to sleep. //-------------------------------------------------------// Enter Sandman //-------------------------------------------------------// Enter Sandman I pulled myselft to my hooves, but it was broken midway due to me hitting my head. "AH SWEET LUNA!" I shouted as I shook my head but soon regreted it, because it only made it worse. I let my vision sink in as I relaized I was in a train, an overturned, crashed train. I paniced and crawled to a window and looked out, but I was met by a blue fog with mysterious, maroon clouds floating about. I looked closer as I saw a dark figure walking, no, floating away. I was about to turn away then a hoof smacked against the window, spreading black fluid all over it. "WHAT THE BUCK IS THAT! GOD BUCKING CELESTIA DAMMIT!" I tripped over my hooves and colided with a fallen seat. The, this is what got me, the face slid into the frame and I saw it, it was my mom. Her face was guant and cavex, with burn marks. Her neck was slit open on the side and bent sickly. "Hello son." "Mom?" She just pointed behind me. I then head breathing, horrible, distorted, wet, breathing. My eyes went wide and I turned, but I was met with my mothers decomposing body, impaled on a piece of rebar with it piercing her skull. "I have missed you son." She stared at me, then her hooves slid to her belly, and her burnt flesh stunk of melted rubber and spoilt soup as she dog her hooves into her body, pulling out her guts onto the floor, they splattered all over the train car and fell into her other open wounds. I vomited at the sight and tried to crawl away. I heard a sickening crack and a few seconds later something grabbed my back hoof. I turned on reflex, and my mother had... Disconnected her upper half from her lower wich was stuck and crawled to me, she had also dislodged the rebar and was holding it in her spine which grew off into a claw. She swung the rebar into my thigh and I screamed as loud as I could, then blacked out. I shot up, taking in a great deal of air as I fell to the floor of Rainbows clound home. I slid over to the garbage can and emptied my stomach into it. I fell over and rolled over to the bed, sitting up agaist it. Derpy was awake the whole time and she hopped off of the bed and sat next to me on her haunches. "Sticks, what was that all about? Nightmare." I just sat there, on my haunches, looked down, and cried into my hooves. Derpy put a foreleg around me for support but it didnt help, all I felt was pure cold. "Sticks, it's okay, whatever happened in that dream is gone now, okay?" I looked at her. But before I could say anything I fell into her shoulder and wrapped her in a hug. "I just cant get it out of my head, I watched her die, she just, died like that. No warning, no reason just pure death." I said between sobs. She patted me on the back with a hoof and we broke apart and just sat there. The door to the guest room creaked open and Fluttershy came in and sat down across from us. "Sticks..... Your, your mom would have wanted you to move on. You shouldnt dwell on her death like this, you should carry on with your life and focus on what you like to do." She looked directly at me. "It is how I dealt with losing my mom. I didnt witness it happen but it was still awful." We all sat there, Fluttershy being absorbed by the mutual depression and silence like a pleague. "Well... It is already morning, why not breakfast?" Fluttershy said. I gagged at the thought. "Oh... Okay maybe that isnt a good idea, Derpy do you want breakfast?" Derpy stood "Yea, muffins would be okay." We all got up and went out into the living room. As I entered they heard the radio playing, Flock of Manticores ? I walked along the avenue, I never thought I'd meet a mare like you, meet a mare like you. "Wow.. Rainbow Dash taste in music is pretty good." I said ...Hypnotize me through, hypnotize me through. And I ran, I ran so far away, I ran all night and day But I couldnt ge- The orgasmic music was interrupted by Rainbow shutting the radio off. "Uh sorry about that, I Surfers, wanna go? I said back. She chuckled. "Well it happens. Hey, there is a concert tonight, Flankhole g, but you arent." Me and Derpy sat down on the couch, and Rainbow sat on a loveseat with Fluttershy. The door flew open and three stallions, all pegisi, came in. "Hey, RD! We are here! Wait, who is this?" Said the largest of the three. Rainbow looked at him. "Its sticks and his friend Derpy, met then yesterday." He sat down next to me and his friends took the chairs across. "Hey Sticks, names Amp." He was a sturdy, fit stallion with a black mane and a grey body, he wore a black bandana and a black vest. "Those two over there are Spiker and Brick." Spiker had a well, spikey mane that was blue and a navy coat, he wore pretty much the same thing but with a headband. Brick had a shaved mane and wore a white shirt with a blue denim vest.  "Well now that we are all familiar I have an offering, meet me at out warehouse, just take a left from here and take your second right, big, old building. If you need workd just go over there. Rainbow stepped in. "Well in a few minuets we can all get going to that concert, just gotta get my cash together." The group nodded and headed out to the front porch to wait. "Wait did they just ask me to join a gang?" I said. "Sorta, more like a theif-racketing group but they never kill, they just break into houses and host fight clubs, sometimes illegal gambling or the concert we are going to. "Well I dont want to get into any trouble I dont have to." "Okay, thats fine, just dont show up, if you show up there is no going back on it." Rainbow said while loading up her bits and heading out of the door. "Come on, lets go."
