Twilight Sparkles has made many mistakes in her life, but this is by far the worse: Using a reforming spell, she has erased the mind of Discord, leaving him a blank slate, confused and weary of a world he knows nothing of.

As Discord redefines himself and takes on the name Strife, Celestia and Luna must help a distraught Twilight and friends into showing Strife what Discord never understood. If they don't, Equestria may face its worse threat: A serious God of Chaos that doesn't hold back and might just kill them if he thinks he has to.

And yet, as he relearns the world, Strife may find more to be discontent about than just his former self's reputation.
