James Vladegar is a 34 year old pilot for the airline company of Orbit Airlines. James lives in the beautiful ocean side city of Astoria. James is a very skilled pilot who has learned much over his many years of long and short distance flight, and he has had his fair share of emergency situations/landings (don't worry, they weren't his fault). James has a loving family of three, himself, his daughter Jenny, and his wife Chrystine. James has quite a few hobbies that he utilizes to pass the time. He is a massive tinkerer. He knows just about everything about computers (physically and digitally), and has a passion for gaming. He also likes working on any type of motor transport (cars, boats, aircraft). His 15 year old daughter, Jenny, is a kindhearted girl who loves making everyone around her smile. She also enjoys exploring around the city in her free time. Chrystine is 29 years of age and is pretty shy around new folk, but can't express herself enough around her family and friends. Chrystine is also a wonderful cook, and she knows many recipes. She practically has a library of cookbooks. They have had a very pleasant life so far and were very grateful for everything they had. They had a big house, a few cars, one small private plane, a personal small yacht, and best of all, a bond many families lacked between each other. Their life was great and just continued to go upwards. James had been given a raise at work, Chrystine had gotten a job at the local heliport, and Jenny had saved enough money to go to college in a few years. But, little to their knowing, their life was about to change, very soon.
Flight log 1,179
7:50 A.M. Southwest Washington, West Coast, USA
Today me and my family are headed back to Astoria, Oregon from our trip to Seattle Washington. Conditions are light overcast and the wind is at 7 knots from the east. We are headed south at 200 knots down the west coast, and air traffic is light today. It should be a steady flight home.
8:09 A.M. Northwest Oregon, West Coast, USA
Something is wrong! Absolutely terribly wrong! We were just crossing the state border when there was a white flash of light outside the plane, the whole plane shook, worse than the worst turbulence I've ever experienced. Then the white light outside went away and the plane stopped shaking. We were still on course, but I felt different, and smaller. I was startled by the sudden change of height, and lack of fingers. YES, YOU HEARD ME RIGHT! I'm MISSING my FINGERS! My ARMS are BLUE! I have somehow been transformed into an equine of some sorts, my family along with me. I am currently in the back of the plane typing this. It's always important to keep a log of everything that happens in the air, no matter what. I managed to get the plane on autopilot with these... hooves? I think they're hooves. It's much harder to push the tiny buttons of this aircraft with hooves. Oh, did I mention I sound like a female now? My voice has changed and I really don't like it. I need to get this plane on the ground and find help... somehow.
8:11 A.M. Northwest Oregon, West Coast, USA
About to begin decent towards Astoria Regional Airport. Not sure how I'm going to control this thing on the way down, but I think I can manage.
"Begin pre-decent checklist. Flaps 25 degrees, check. Reduce throttle 25%, check. Landing lights, check. Tower clearance, NO! THERE IS NOBODY ON THE RADIOS! *sigh* disengaging autopilot... NOW! It's really hard to hold the yoke when I'm this small! It's pulling downwards! We're coming in too fast! Chrystine, flip that switch! No, the other one! NO, THE RED ONE! This is going to come down too hard! Engaging flight spoilers!"
8:40 A.M. Astoria Regional Airport, West Coast, USA
GONE! There is nobody here! We were on final approach and I was screaming for the Air Traffic Control tower to respond. Nobody could hear me through the radio. We were in a high priority emergency and had nobody outside to help us. I tried contacting other aircraft, but there was nobody else in the air. I could barely control the aircraft on my own. Had to call my wife into the cockpit to assist. Since this was our families private jet, I lacked having a co-pilot on board. We managed to get the plane to land rather rough, but not hard enough to break anything. We taxied to our reserved spot and bolted to the terminal, screaming for help and tripping over our own legs trying to run . There was nobody to be seen. Everything was quiet. Astoria was never this quiet! There was always the distant sound of aircraft engines and freighters fog horns. But there was only silence. The usually busy terminal was empty, say for the one person sleeping at gate 4's desk. There, asleep on gate 4's desk, was a green unicorn. Yes, a UNICORN was sleeping at the desk. I went to wake her and she jumped, startled at the sudden hoof on her arm. She said her name was Chance Melody, and that she'd come to the airport in hopes of finding other ponies. Yes, apparently we are ponies, at least thats what Melody says. Chance Melody, what a strange name for somebody, let alone a unicorn. Oh, had I mentioned that I was a unicorn? I hadn't noticed until we were in the terminal and I saw myself in the giant mirror wall in one of the terminal hallways. I was light blue with a red... mane? I think thats what its called. I also had a tail, a red mane and tail with blue highlights. I whipped up a picture in M.S. Paint so you can better see.
We have no idea what has happened to us, or how. But I intend to find out. We are going to stay at the terminal with Melody for the night. I really hope that I'll wake up in my bed at home and that this was all some crazy dream, because it really doesn't feel like one.
