Huic Ostiarius the dwarf, captain of Valle Indissolubile's outer wall defenses, was not happy, he was walking home for a good night’s rest that had eluded him for weeks. When the Dominus of Valle Indissolubili, Bellum Praevaricator called him to the castle. I’m getting ahead of myself let me tell you about Huic, Huic is a two thousand nine hundred six years old (average dwarf lifespan ten thousand years) unusually tall dwarf standing at about 5'4 (the average dwarf height is 4'9), with a long red beard, natural black hair, and piercing stone grey eyes that showed a war veteran, but could not be seen under the mithril plate armor that was mostly hidden by a cloak of black bear fur. Huic, usually calm and collected, with a resolve stronger than his own armor, but when angry the cold fury of the frozen North is like a soft winters snow compared to his anger.
Huic walks toward the castle unlike most dwarfen cities Valle Indissolubile resides mostly aboveground with some of the city built into the stone wall of the mountain with most buildings being made of stone along with the twenty five foot tall wall surrounding the city and the stone paved roads. In the middle of the city surrounded by a wall about as tall as the outer wall was the fifty story tall castle with the sunset light reflecting off of the stone castle like a beacon.

Huic walked through the crowded marketed area while the merchants holler out their wares and prices like no tomorrow. If you could have seen what Huic sees when he entered the castle grounds you have seen stubborn, sturdy, beautiful dwarfen architect with depictions of great battles, mountain holds, and dwarfen writings all over the walls of sand colored stone, and lastly in the middle of the courtyard was a depiction of Yggdrasil, the world tree. As Huic was going through the courtyard he saw many dwarfs preparing there armor and themselves for battle with iron and steel dwarfish shields and armor, and weapons such as war hammers, spears, axes, fails, guns such as flintlocks, blunderbusses, and rifles (think steampunk mixed in with early 1700s guns). When Huic opened the six foot tall steel doors of the castle, he saw the usual castle guards with their black colored armor that covered everything but their various sized beards-not unlike Huic’s armor-and carrying their preferred melee weapon in hand and there ranged either in holsters at their sides or on their back. As Huic walked down the halls he saw many paintings he had seen before. Paintings of ancient kings, and battles of old as he walked there was an eerie silence like a calm before the storm, before war. This is not new to the over two thousand years old dwarf veteran, he could practically hear the war drums, and the soldiers singing the war chants.
(And this is what he hears)
Huic stopped walking when he was before a set of four inch thick six foot high mithril doors with Valle Indissolubili banner depicted on it. The Valle Indissolubile banner was of an intricate design of mountains with lines crossing over one another yet all connected with two double bladed axes crossing over the other under the mountain and guarded by ten honor guards.
When the door opened Huic quickly walked in front of the iron throne that his Dominus a 5'4 dwarf in gold trimmed mithril armor and a helmet that showed his wrinkly stone-like face. His brown eyes told a story of rage that volcanoes strive for, a greying black beard which showed that he had been around a long time, and in his armored hands he held a brutal looking hammer/axe made of a new metal called abtsin-a grey colored metal that is more durable then mithril and channels the runes better than anything.
"What do you need of me my Brother?" the slightly gravely baritone voice of Huic Ostiarius said in a tone that said 'I'm tired'.
Bellum sighs and says "Come with me General and you'll find out."
Bellum starts to get up for his chair when Huic asks "General? I am not the general, in fact we haven't had a general in a year and you have yet to interest in even having another General since my late sister, Vos Ferro died, may she feast in the halls of Valhalla, so I must ask if you are feeling well." Bellum sighed at the mention of his late wife but then put on a sad smile.
"Well I thought it was time to promote you after your one thousand five hundred years of service but right now we have no time, come we will walk and talk." Bellum said and started walking down the left corridor with Huic following close behind him. "Now we need to get to the armory and outfit you in our newest and arguably the most durable armor made from a mixture of mithril and asbtin with runes of the Juggernaut, projectile destruction, and silence (silence lasts around six minutes if he move at walking pace, and three if he's running for his life, and takes one hour to recharge) all around the armor almost undetectable to the naked eye, and the most powerful weapons that include, two double edged swords with runes of power(it's on all the weapons just so you know), fire, swiftness, and rage of the Berserker, a battle axe and a large shield, the forever sharp rune on the axe, a rune of the nearly movable object, and Golem summoning on the shield, the golem's appearance depends on where you are and last for three to five minutes. Last but not least our newest and tested gun, and arguably the most deadly gun we've made, most the boys down in the lab like to call it the 'Great Devourer’s Roar' I, myself, like the name but the technical term is a .50 caliber six-barreled minigun that carries around 1,500 bullet (thanks to runes) and shot about 25 of them per second and you have six ammo drums with runes of the Unbroken, and just so you don’t get worried everything is fitted for your stature and a bottomless pack just think of what you want and you will have it but only things that are in the pack.”
“This is all fine and dandy but why am I going in to full battle gear and why haven’t I seen Alfhild around she usually playing around the throne room at this time…” realization slowly dawned on Huics unseen face he quickly ‘ripped’ off his helmet and stared directly into his shorter brothers eyes showing the icy rage of the North and his brothers eyes showing the fiery anger that dragons would not dare even look at “Wizards...” Huic stated with a look in his eye that foretold a death to any that stood in the away of getting his niece back home.
Bellum gained a look that would make a Archdeamon tremble before him and said “Blood cultists is more like it.” he spat out figuratively and literally.
"Brother do you where they are?" Huic asked with a raised brow. When asked that question Bellum face grew a most unsettling grin that spoke of much destruction.
"Oh yes, dear brother I know exactly where they are." and with that Bellum released an evil chuckle that rode on the wind for miles around and sending chills down the backs of a certain group of humans.
Time Skip four days
Location: A quarter of a mile away from Montem Maleficus A.K.A the Wizard Cathedral
Huic stood on top a mound of rocks that was on top of a grass filled hill looking down at the barely seen Wizards Cathedral with upmost disgust from atop hill. Oh you what to see what he looks like and what the weapons look like? Well I was getting to that.

Today is a perfect day to attack Huic thought, and it was, fog covered the valley like a thick blanket, while the sky thundered with the ferocity of Thor's hammer while the rain pelted the earth like no tomorrow a perfect time to attack, indeed. Huic turned to his army of five thousand strong, one thousand eight hundred footmen all of them carrying their favoured weapons, five hundred Vanguards, five hundred gun wielders, seven hundred fifty Rams men, seven hundred fifty Boar riders, five hundred War beasts (the dwarf is is a little more armored and the beast having light armor around their vital parts (link must be copied and pasted on to a new page)), and forty Catapults.
Huic turned around and found a dwarf kneeling in front of him the dwarf was four foot tall, wearing a black hooded cloak that only showed the dwarfs lower face, a shaved face, this was the leader to Indissolubili's spy guilds, Mundi O Fortuna (everyone in the said guilds have to shave there beards) "How many are there, Mundi?" a stoic Huic said.
"There are two thousand mercenaries, seven hundred battle mages, six hundred mages, five hundred magical constructs of varying sizes, seven hundred elfen warriors, and fifteen high wizards on the walls, but what hides behind the walls I know not, that is all General." Mundi said.
"Thank you Mundi." Huic said, then he went to the war tent to make sure that the plan was perfect. When Huic entered the tent he saw all the troop leaders standing around a table with a map on it showing the cathedral in the middle of the map with the Indissolubili's banner east of the cathedral on a hill representing his army. "Let's go over the plan again, I want the catapults to fire round the cathedral two times with the explosive rounds, then I want the army split into two groups both having nine hundred foot men in them, the second wave will consist of sharp shooters and War beasts, and when they are close enough the foot men in that group will run to join us while the War beasts and sharp shooters stay behind, but in range. The first wave will be joined by the Rams men, and close ranged gun men, and will charge toward the enemy line and I will lead the charge with the Rams men in front of the footmen while the Vanguard split into two groups and go for a standard pincer formation, and when the War beasts get in range they will fire at the cathedral walls and gates, three hundred aiming at the gate, two hundred aiming at the walls, while the Boar men accompany the Vanguard, and lastly I want the dwarfs that are able to form golems to be in the charging force, understood?" All the troop leaders nod in unison "...What are you still doing here, GET THE MEN READY!!!" Huic ordered.
Half an hour later
Huic was in front of his army on top of his Pecus (Huic would be as tall as the beast and is heavily armored) and was not disappointed his army was halfed with the charging units in the front and the slow-moving units in the back while the Boar riders and Vanguard wait further downhill waiting for the signal, and the catapults placed in range of the cathedral. "Good afternoon, my brothers in arms today we charge toward the magic using cowards that not only took your Princess but my niece, today they've made it personal, today we will kill every single one of those stick sucking blood cultists, today we bring the Princess back home!" after that everyone raised there weapons and let out a war cry. "Fire on my mark catapults!" Huic ordered after a few seconds Huic raised his hand and hollered out "FIRE!" and with that the catapults fired on the enemy, and simultaneously giving the signal to the Pincer squads.
POV Random Mage
"What are we even doing out here?" I asked a mercenary.
"Well I'm getting payed to watch for intruders." she said.
"Well the only 'intruders' I've seen was two rabbits going at it, so why don't we make like the rabbits and go back to my tent and have some fun, I mean it's not like there's an army out there." I said, while Murphy smiled evilly down upon the mage on top of throne made from the skulls of those that died to his law.
The merc just stared at me until she said "...Nope, I'm out of here." Then she started running like Death was behind her, and if she hadn't she would have died because as soon as she left a barrel hit the mage directly in the head then proceeded to explode (adding another skull to Murphy's throne),while seventy nine more rain from the sky killing many while others readied themselves for battle, and hearing the thundering of hooves, armored boots, and war cries all around them.
POV Huic Ostiarius
"War chanters begin you songs of death, everyone that's with me I will see you in Valhalla, and let Odin's spear be thrown in our favor, now CHARGE!" I said then those in my group ran down the hill with the War chants ringing in all our ears.
As I lead the charge I begun to see the outlines of the enemy and soon enough I could see them clearly most were wearing iron armor, few wore steel armor, and as far I've only seen three people in mithril armor. Most of the enemy army is trying to form ranks to fight the frontal force, a mistake that shall doom them. I stay behind the Rams men, but in front of the foot men, waiting for first blood, the world slows, and the sounds of the war chants become muffled, we come close to the army, spell and arrows are casted at us in slow motion, now where fifty feet away, spears are lowered on both side ready to impale anyone in there way, at thirty feet away, arrows and spells rain down on us the, most of the arrows bounce harmlessly off our armor and shields while some hit there mark some crippling or killing the targeted dwarfs, rams, and/or Rams men, while the spells hit various things like the ground, shields, and dwarfs the spells were lighting, fire, ice, explosion, earth, and the rare laser spells I raised my shield to block an incoming laser spell, at twenty feet I stopped my mount and raised my shield above my head and hollered out these words "Dolores inferni circumdederunt me de circuitu, et disperdes inimicos meos et conteram voluntatem vocat, Achille! [From mine surroundings I call upon you, to destroy mine enemies and crush their wills, I summon you, Achilles!]" (It is Latin) slowly the rocks around me start to float, many of the dwarfs knows what's coming and swiftly charge in front of me to protect me and so they don't get caught in the spell. Soon enough large rocks and chunks of the ground start raising in to the air and soon enough made a twenty five foot tall rock golem.
"Achille audivit vocem, quid me vis facere Rabbi? [Achilles hears your call, what do you want me to do Master?]" the golem said in a voice that sounded like two boulders grinding against each other.
"Vos sunt ad bellum et perdam reliquias magicae, nunc. [You are to destroy the remaining magical constructs, now go.]" I ordered Achilles. Achilles now started walking to one of the taller constructs. Three golems more started to form one was made ten foot tall Golem made of metal, a nineteen foot tall Fire and rock golem mix, and lastly a twenty foot tall Golem, after forming the golems charged the army crushing enemies underfoot or punted into the Cathedral walls or into other soldiers making them become meaty chunks or a fine red mist, and engaging the few magical constructs that survived the explosive barrage.
"For the glory of Valle Indissolubile!" I hollered out over the sounds of the golems clashing, metal smashing against metal, screams of pain, and war cries and charged my enemies with my axe in hand, chopping off arms, heads, and bodies while my mount crushing or impales elfs, humans, and smaller constructs alike on her horns and under hoof. After killing a good amount of the enemy I placed my axe on my back with my shield "Go back to the camp, Hel." I told my mount and unsheathed both my swords as soon as the swords were unsheathed two things happened, pure rage poured through my body causing me to roar in rage, and the swords them selves burst into flames while still retaining their shapes. I jumped off mount that had turned around and had charged back to camp whilst killing any enemy in her way. I started brutally destroying my enemies making fire, blood, and gore fly everywhere. Slowly my senses came back making realize that I needed to dodge an incoming sword that was aiming for my head! I ducked under the sword and looked to my attacker, he was a nine foot tall Elf in golden colored armor that was only carrying a long sword. "I was wondering when I'd see one of you overcompensating tooth picks." I said to the elf. The elf looked at me with there 'I'm an elf so I'm better then you' look, oh wait that's what they always look like.
"What are you and you army doing here, you dirty little rock eaters?" Asked the elf in the usual 'I'm better than you' voice.
"You know very well why we're here you pompous prick, but since you asked so nicely, lean yourself down to my level and I'll tell ya." I said with a hidden grin on my face. The elf looked at me like I was the dirt of the ground but did so anyway and leaned down next to my face like an idiot (or Like a loser). As soon as he was close enough I stabbed him in the gut, the unnamed elf's eyes widened and looked at me with disbelief, probably thought that I wouldn't take the advantage, I leaned next to his head and whispered into his ear "We're here to kill all of you tree hugging, stick sucking, grass eating, blood cultists and save my niece, now leave the land of the living and on to Folkvang." then I sliced left making his blood and guts spill onto the ground, he fell to the ground and I left, leaving the elf to a slow and painful death. Soon cannon fire was heard meaning the second wave has arrived soon the sound stone walls breaking and looked to the walls and saw that some of the wall had a hole big enough for me to squeeze through. I started to charge to the hole killing the humans, elfs, and constructs (mostly elfs) that got in my way.
I got to the hole, entered and then, I woke up in old bed the in a room with crumbling solid stone walls with a heavy wooden door I front of me, speaking of the door it's been opened a little bit, I tensed up ready for anything then I heard a little girls voice say "Daddy why didn't you save me? Why daddy?" then the door slammed open showing pure darkness "Why did you let the tall bad men take me daddy? They tortured me daddy, they hurt me, they cut me, don't you love me?" the voice said again then a 2'10 tall dwarf girl walked out of darkness, tears welled up in my eyes when I saw her, the girl had raven black hair that went down to her mid-back, her eyes were a blind, unfocused, glazed over milky blue, and was wearing a simple pink dress and was barefoot and in her arms was a stuffed Pecus. "You love me, r-right daddy?" she said in a cracking voice with tears filling her eyes. I quickly jump off my bed and hugged my daughter with all that I was worth but not enough to crush her.
"I will always love you, Eira nothing will stop that, if I could do it again, I would've been faster and stronger." I said in a small voice and started stroking her hair.
"Thank you, daddy, I love you too." She said then world started to shake and crazed, insane laughter filled the air.
I woke up to the sound of knocking on my door of house, I opened my eyes and looked up to the black wood ceilings. I slowly got out of my bed and looked at the stone brick walls of my room I slowly moved to the bathroom to wash my face. I enter the bathroom look to the mirror and see the same breaded face I see everyday a three claw marked scar goes to the right side of my face over my nose and stopped at my right cheek, and small vertical scar over my artificial left eye. "Technology really has advanced in the last few years, hasn't it?" I asked myself. It's been over one thousand years after those events took place, the door was knocked on again, reminding me that there was someone at the door. I went back to my room and put on a grey shirt, black jeans and walked out the my room to the the door, I have a small house when you leave my room you can see the sitting room that, in one corner of the room held my old equipment armor on a stand, weapons and shield hanging on the wall behind the armor, and my gun in a hidden compartment, kitchen along with the guest room that was on the adjacent wall from my room, and by my room there's a door that leads to my forge, anyway I went to the heavy oak door and opened the door to receive a few knocks on my forehead.
"Oh! I'm sorry Mr. Ostiarius I didn't mean to hit you, anyway I came over to give you your mail today." said the grey furred, golden eyes, 5'9 human-pegasus-pony wearing the typical mailmare outfit with a satchel hanging on her left side, and sadly today, like most days she had her blond mane cover lazy eye (left eye), and was holding out six letters to me, this was Ditzy Doo.
"Thank you, Ditzy." I said while taking the letters "And how many times do I have to tell you, call me Huic not Mr. Ostiarius that was my father, I know you respect your elders, but to me, I'm still in my thirties, also how's your daughters? I heard Sparkler got a job at the town hall, and how's Dinky, she's been looking pretty down lately."
Ditzy looked a little sad before say "You remember my coltfriend, Clockwork?"
"Yeah, I remember him, light brown fur, darker brown mane and tail, hourglass Mark on his shoulder, light brown over coat, blue eye, blue dress suit, red tie that's under the dress shirt, black jeans, an interesting screwdriver, a blue box that bigger on the inside, and is about twenty one in a dwarfs eyes, why do you ask?" I inquired.
Ditzy looked at me with surprised wide eyes "How did you know that?" she inquired back with a surprised voice.
"Well, when you live long enough you'll see "The Doctor" at least once or twice, either with one face or the other-" I said to myself "-even got to go on a few adventures with him, when I first met him was nine hundred ago, his box of his popped out of nowhere and he just walked out with burn marks on his face, crazy hair that stood on end, and smoke rising from his blue box, and he just calmly looked me stoicly and said "Tell this to no one, Huic." Then he blew out a ring of smoke and fell slowly forward and landed muzzle first on to the, thankfully for him soft dirt. It was almost as funny as when he first met me, you remember that right?" I asked.
"Yeah, I remember, you came into town when me and Clockwork were have a picnic, you walked over to us, Clockwork face was priceless when you said "So, it seems that the Doctor has a caught a fish from 'The on coming Storm', and what a pretty fish she is, a beautiful catch if I do say so myself." when he asked who you were, you said "A friend", and Clockwork asked form when, you just said in posh voice "I the words of one of your friends 'spoilers'." it was so funny when his popped when you said that." she said a sigh.
I sighed as well "He left hasn't he?" I asked, to which she nodded "He left a letter?" again a nod "May I see it?" she nodded while grabbing the letter out of satchel and handing it to me, and this what it said.
Dear, Ditzy Doo
By the time you read this I will be long gone and wearing a different face, I wanted to stay with you for as long as I could, but I've lived with this face for to long, but know this I've always loved you and there isn't a day that goes by where I didn't think of you, I don't want to go, but I don't know how my new face will act, I may even met you again, but like I said it will be with a different face, good bye Ditzy, I love you.

The letter itself was stained with tears and...small bits of blood. I let out a short bitter laugh and said "I remember him telling something along the lines of "The Doctor never stays in one place for long, and even if he wants to be will be forced to do so, it's just a matter time." Sad isn't it? Well at least he got a few happy years with you and your family. You want to come in for some tea or coffee?" I asked while giving the letter back to Ditzy.
She sniffed and shook her head saying that she had mail to deliver but thanked me and walks away saying goodbye. I walked back in to my house, closed the door, sat down in my "Kings chair", and started looking through my mail. 'Well let's bill, bill, bill, man I wish I new a guy named Bill, hmm a letter about cleaning products who's this from? Ah a Sam Yillby, a very unusual name. An order for a sword. Oh this is interesting.' I put the bills and ad on a little table that was near my seat. The letter I was holding was a wax sealed letters with an interesting symbol seal.
I broke the seal and looked at what the the letter said.
Howdy there Huic Ostiarius, it's been a while hasn't? Anyway I'm go to get to the point, I'm sending you this letter to invite you to the Canterlot Ministry of Wartime Technology. I want you to help Equestria by helping with the war, I believe you know that your not going into the science branch. You will be you going in to the heat of battle, and if I remember correctly you once said you love that, and that you will do anything to protect innocents, a win-win for you. If you accept, come to the Canterlot Ministry of Wartime Technology three days from today around about 10:00 a.m.

I smiled at the letter, it been so long since I've gotten a letter from Applejack, ever since the War started we've grown distant, then I thought about her offer and walked over to my armor and started into its eyeless holes then to a frame next to it hanging on the wall holding a picture of a battle with dwarfish writing, something I had written myself and it said "Stríð, stríð aldrei breytist ástæður geta mismunandi eins og heilbrigður eins og menn og vopn, en það verður alltaf að vera tap, vera það stór eða lítill og það mun vera þar, það er val þitt að gera það minna en það gæti verið. [War, war never changes reasons may vary as well as men and weapons, but there will always be a loss, be it large or small, and it will be there, it's your choice to make it less than it could be.]" Then I looked back to my armor grinned and said "Looks like you'll be getting an upgrade." then I started to pack everything that I would need in my bottomless pack including my armor and weapons and getting on the earliest in could I locked my door and left a note that I would be back in three days or so.

Hello all now I just what to say that in this story mithril is not as over powered as it is in Lord of the Rings in this story it's 10% stronger than steel and is only used by high ranked officers, the castle guard, and the royal family.
