Dear Diary

Dear Diary,

Hello! My name is Twilight Sparkle. One of my friends suggested that I purchase a diary of my own, to help prevent my, um, well my mental breakdowns. She thinks if I let my feelings out more that they wouldn't build up and cause me problems like they have in the past. So, here I am. Talking to... a book. I am talking to a book. Wow. And they said I had mental problems before. Many of my friends keep diaries however so I shouldn't criticize them.

Well, since you have no eyes I should probably tell you what I look like. I am a unicorn, my coat is a light purple, and my mane is a dark blue with a streak of pink and a streak of purple. My cutie mark is a pink six-pointed star, surrounded by 5 smaller, white stars. I am also the Bearer of the Element of Magic. My friends and I represent the Elements of Harmony, and protect Equestria from danger.

You probably want to know about my friends, don't you? Well, I have a unicorn friend named Rarity, two Pegasi friends named Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy, and two earth pony friends named Applejack and Pinkie Pie. Rarity owns a fashion shop named Carousel Boutique, where I help her organize her clothes from time to time. I also have a baby dragon friend, Spike. He's my personal assistant, and I've raised him ever since I hatched him from an egg as part of my entrance exam into Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. Oh, and I have a brother named Shining Armour, who was pretty much my only friend until I moved to Ponyville. I did have other friends, most of them from school, but I didn't really spend much time with them. I was always too busy studying.

Well, I have to go now. Spike just received a letter for me from Princess Celestia. Who knows what it'll be about this time? Until next time,
