//-------------------------------------------------------// Fluttershy's New Friend -by pinkipie297654- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 Fluttershy worked on her homework in class since she had some free time. The classroom was packed with students who talked with each and sat on their desks. Suddenly, the phone rang and after the teacher yelling for the students to quite down, she answered. After a short conversation, the teacher looked at Fluttershy. "Fluttershy? The vice principal wants to speak to you." The students stared at her and some whispered. Fluttershy grabbed her belongings and walked down to Vice Principal Luna's office. "Now Fluttershy, I wanted to ask you for a favor. There's a new student who will begin her first day here tomorrow. Her name is Golden Dust and she needs someone to show her around." "Sure! I can help her." Fluttershy perked up with excitement. Luna's expression suddenly changed to a sad look and she looked at her pencil to avoid Fluttershy's gaze. "It's not going to be as simple as you believe. She's not only going to need you to show her around, but she needs you to be her peer counselor." Fluttershy was shocked. She felt she wasn't able to help someone with stress. "Why was I chosen to help her? I don't know if I can help someone with much. I'm not all the good at counseling at ALL!" Luna stood from her chair and looked out her window. "Fluttershy, you are one of the most if THE most caring student in this school. Your kindness has inspired many people at this school to be more caring. Golden Dust needs someone to help her. You are the only one I can think of who can help her." Luna walked over to Fluttershy and held her hand. "I know you think you can't help her, but please try." Fluttershy thought about it for a moment and then looked up and nodded. "Thank you Fluttershy. You will spend sixth period everyday with her for counseling. Okay?" Fluttershy nodded and pretended that she was brave, but inside she felt terrified. She was scared of letting Golden Dust down if she doesn't know how to help or not know what advice to give. The next day at around lunch time, she was called to the front of the school to show Golden Dust around school. Fluttershy walked down the hallway and felt a knot grow in her stomach. She walked around the corner and saw a girl with grey skin, blue hair with a pink bow in it, and a sweater with a skirt and sandals. Fluttershy took a couple deep breaths and then walked up to the girl. "Hi there...I'm...Fluttershy. You must be Golden Dust correct?" Golden Dust looked at Fluttershy with a blank face. She stared at Fluttershy for about fifteen seconds before she looks away. "Yeah... You my peer counselor and tour guide?" "Yes I am. Let me show you around!" Fluttershy grabbed Golden Dust's hand and walked down the hallway. Golden Dust felt scared and felt suspicious of Fluttershy and kind attitude. She pulled her hand away. "Sorry but, I'd prefer not to hold your hand. Nothing personal but I can keep up with you...." Golden Dust looked away and scratched her head. "Oh! Of course! I don't want to make you to be upset. Anyway, that's the science lab. That's the library. That's the-" Golden Dust tuned Fluttershy and pretend to listen. She felt worried about Fluttershy's kindness. It just didn't feel...normal to Golden Dust. Fluttershy acted like she WANTED to be with Golden. Golden felt scared but, somewhat happy. She couldn't explain what it was, but she felt happy about this girl. Author's Note My last story got really bad reviews, and instead of taking it the wrong way, I've decided to take that feedback and use it to better my skills. I'm willing for honest feedback as long as it doesn't insult me like "Your a bad writer" or "Your stupid." If you think I can improve in some way, please tell me. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 Fluttershy sat at the far end of the conference table and tapped on her folder. Golden Dust walked in the conference room and sat down. Fluttershy thought calmly. "So? Would you like to start Golden Dust? Um....Why did you move here?" Fluttershy looked Golden Dust with hope in her eyes. Golden Dust quickly looked away and shrugged. Fluttershy's skin tingled. She tried using her puppy eyes to get Golden Dust to get a reason out of her. She didn't enjoy having to beg to get information, but she had to get to know this girl so she would trust Fluttershy. Golden Dust refused to look Fluttershy in the eye and muttered. "I moved cause I did...." Fluttershy face-palmed. This girl is going to be more difficult than Fluttershy thought. Golden Dust made a sad face. She sighed and spoke. "I'm not going to say much about me because I'm....afraid." Golden Dust held back her tears the best she could, but the damn's in her eyes threated to explode despite her efforts. Fluttershy suddenly felt bad. She didn't want to make this girl break like a vase being hit by a baseball bat. She sighed and stood. She walked slowly over and sat down closer to Golden Dust. She needed to be careful and cautious. Fluttershy made a stern face and held Golden Dust's face to look Fluttershy in the eye. "I don't know what your afraid of, but you need to tell me what it is. I want to help you, but I can't do that if you don't tell me what's wrong. Now, what is making you afraid?" Fluttershy tried to seem stern but kind and helpful to ease Golden Dust's tearful eyes. Golden Dust pulled her head away, but she calmed down a bit. Golden Dust remained silent. She didn't expect Fluttershy to understand. She didn't expect anyone to understand the fear she had. Suddenly, a knock broke the unbearable silence the coated the room. A woman from the school's staff walked in without waiting for a response. She looked at the two a tiny moment, then spoke. "I don't mean to bother with peer counseling, but we need this room for a meeting." Fluttershy was just about to ask for a another meeting room when Golden Dust cut her short. "It's fine...We were just finishing up." Golden Dust forced a smile and then began gathering her belongings. The woman nodded and closed the door. Fluttershy realized that this girl will take some time to get to her core. She'll have to be patient with this girl. She too gathered her belongings and went to her next class. The bell rang and Fluttershy turned her papers in and walked outside. She waited for Pinkiepie to meet up with her so they could study at Fluttershy's house along with Rarity. The other two girls stepped outside and the three girls hugged. While walking to Fluttershy's house, Pinkiepie and Rarity rambled about different things. Fluttershy did her girlfriend nod and pretended to act like she was listening, but she was instead thinking of ways to try and help Golden Dust. Pinkiepie poked Fluttershy and she came back to reality. "Fluttershy? What's with you? You haven't listened to a word we've said." Pinkie said with a fake pout. Fluttershy sighed and looked down at her feet. "I'm sorry. I'm just a little stressed out. This Golden Dust girl is really difficult. She just doesn't talk about herself other than the fact she's afraid. But I don't know what she's afraid. She just doesn't want to say." Fluttershy felt rather frustrated. This girl was stubborn. Pinkie and Rarity looked at each other with concern and Rarity spoke. "Darling, she may be stubborn, but remember, YOU were stubborn when I first met you. You didn't want to talk very much until I gained your trust. This girl is no different. When she says she's afraid, think of what YOU were afraid of when I we first met you. Only then, you'll have to help her face that fear and overcome it." Fluttershy thought back. What was it that she was afraid of when she first met the others? Then, it hit her. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 Fluttershy sped through class and hurried to the meeting room for sixth period and waited for Golden Dust to show up. Fluttershy had a plan to help Golden out, but she couldn't help but feel nervous. She took a couple deep breaths and felt a knot grow in her stomach. Suddenly, the door opened and Golden Dust walked slowly in. Her hands were cupped and she made no eye contact with Fluttershy what so ever when she entered the room. Fluttershy prepared herself, and she spoke. "Want to go to the mall after school today?!" Fluttershy said that louder than she anticipated. Golden Dust jumped from her seat and had a look on her face that you'd see if someone had just seen a ghost. "C-could you repeat that?" "Um...would you like to go to the mall after school today?" Fluttershy gulped as Golden Dust sat back down and cleared her throat. "W-why are you asking me to hangout with you?" "I thought it would be a great way to bond with each other. If we get close enough, maybe I'll be able to get a better insight of how I can help you!" Fluttershy giggled nervously. Golden Dust thought for a painfully long moment. She sighed and looked Fluttershy in the eye with a scared expression and spoke. "I suppose I can go out after school. W-we can meet up at the library. But, we're going alone? I-I don't mind if your bringing friends. I am just really shy...." Fluttershy felt that knot in her gut return. She wore an expression that said what's happening? She took a couple deep breaths and spoke. "I have one other friend who coming with us, but if you want, I could tell her plans have changed." Golden Dust shook her head. Fluttershy nodded. "Okay. You'll like her. I'm sure of it!" Fluttershy tried to sound confidant, but inside she felt she was going to pass out. She felt like there was going to be something. Just one little thing that'll make everything go down hill and explode. The bell rang for the next period and the two girls grabbed their belongings and moved on to their next class. After school, Fluttershy quickly gathered her belongings and went to Sunset Shimmer's last class. "So, someone else is coming with us for shopping?" "Yes...Her name is Golden Dust. She's that new student here and I've been counseling her. I thought it would help if we both got some bonding time. But, I could use you help." Fluttershy said quietly as they passed through the halls. Sunset made a confused look and spoke. "How can I help?" "I don't know. Just make sure she's happy. If she doesn't seem happy, then tell me and I'll find something to give her." "Okay. You got it Fluttershy." Sunset smiled. The three girls met up at the library and got into Sunset's car. They rode to the mall in silence. Fluttershy nudged Sunset's shoulder and looked at Golden Dust in the backseat. Sunset cleared her throat and spoke. "So, Golden Dust? Where do ya want to go shopping first? The jewelry store? Shoe shop? Or even clothes shopping!" Sunset smiled widely. Golden Dust pondered for a brief moment and then spoke. "I guess we could go shoe shopping... D-do you guys play video games?..." Sunset and Fluttershy nodded enthusiastically. "The mall also has a video game store and an arcade! We can go there after we go shoe shopping. How's that?" Sunset said with pep. Golden Dust gave a small smile and a nod. The two girls smiled. Fluttershy felt that she was really getting somewhere with this girl! She just has to make sure that Golden Dust remained happy for the rest of their afternoon together. The girls got to the mall and went to the shoe shop. After awhile, Golden Dust looked a little sad. Fluttershy and Sunset nodded, and Fluttershy spoke. "Um...Golden Dust? Why don't we go to the gaming store, and then we can go to the food court?" Golden Dust looked at Fluttershy with a blank look and pondered. She then nodded. Fluttershy smiled and grabbed Golden Dusts hand and pulled her to the gaming store. The girls looked around at all the games. Golden Dust found one that she liked. Fluttershy and Sunset nodded. "Golden Dust? Me and Fluttershy can get you the game! It's on the house!" Sunset smiled. Golden Dust gave a small smile and nod again. After the gaming store, the girls ate a fantastic lunch in the lunch court. After that, Sunset drove Golden Dust home. "I hope you had fun Golden. We should hangout again soon!" Fluttershy smiled. Golden Dust smiled widely and hugged Fluttershy. "I'd love that..." Golden Dust then let Fluttershy go and ran into her house. Fluttershy smiled widely and Sunset spoke. "Your all the more closer to becoming friends with her. But...does she know that your doing this to become her friend and not because your her peer counselor?" Fluttershy perked up and thought. She had never considered that. "You probably should show her in some way your not doing this because it's just your job. Don't say it though, like, get her a gift to show that you want to be her friend. You do right?" "Of course I do! I just never considered that she might've felt that way. Thanks for the tip Sunset." Fluttershy smiled. Sunset nodded and dropped Fluttershy off at her house. Author's Note This is the complete version of Chapter 3. Hope you guys are enjoying the story so far! More will be coming soon! :pinkiehappy: https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/pinkiehappy.png //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 Fluttershy walked around the mall. She thought I gotta find a store. A store that has the one thing. That ONE little gift! She walked into the book store and browsed around, until she found the perfect apple in the tree. Fluttershy sat in her chair and held her gift bag close. The sound of foot steps filled her ears and she quickly put the bag under the table, where it can't be seen. The door opened and Golden Dust walked in. Fluttershy tapped the meeting table with her fingers nervously. Golden Dust sat down in her chair and observed Fluttershy's nervous behavior. After about two minutes of silence, Golden Dust spoke. "Why are you acting so nervous? D-did I do something wrong?" Fluttershy perked up and spoke. "No, no ,no! I just... I just..." Fluttershy sighed. "I guess I should just spill the beans." Fluttershy scooted her chair back and grabbed her gift bag out from under the table and stood up. She walked up to Golden Dust and gave her the bag. "I got you a gift. When I saw this, It just seemed to suit you. I thought you liked video games, so....?" Golden Dust was stunned. She hesitated and opened the bag. "The Ultimate Guide to Making Your Own Video Games? Are you serious!?!" Golden Dust smiled so wide. Fluttershy nodded. "I figured that since you like video games, that you might want to learn how to MAKE video games!" Fluttershy smiled nervously as Golden Dust looked up at her with wide eyes. Golden Dust suddenly jumped up and hugged Fluttershy. "Thank you very much!" Golden Dust let Fluttershy go and her smiled slowly faded and Golden Dust looked away from Fluttershy's gaze. Fluttershy knew what it was. "Even though I got you a present and we're friends, your still scared to tell me why your sad." Golden Dust suddenly looked at Fluttershy with a semi shocked face. "Wait. We're friends?" "Well... I guess. I do really want to be your friend." Fluttershy said. Golden Dust sighed. "Your right. Even though your my friend, I'm scared." Golden Dust was on the verge of tears and she looked away from Fluttershy again. Fluttershy suddenly hugged Golden Dust as she cried. "I know. I know your scared. I know because I was there once. But I got over my fear by trusting my friends. You need to trust me. You CAN trust me!" Golden Dust was shocked at first. But she relaxed and hugged Fluttershy back. "I understand. I guess I can at least explain what makes me afraid to make friends." The girls sat down in two chairs and Golden Dust continued. "I used to live in the city and I had this friend named Twinkle Shine. We were so close together. But..." Golden Dust's tears were coming back. "Just over two years ago, she....She killed herself....I don't why she did it! Despite what my parents said, I still blamed myself for her death! I still do! If I was there for her more, maybe I could've been able to tell what was bothering her!" Fluttershy made an assertive look and she grabbed to Golden's head to face Fluttershy, and Fluttershy spoke. "Golden Dust! I'm sure that nothing was your fault for her death. She probably just didn't tell you because she didn't want to burden you with her problems. Either way, NOTHING you did made her kill herself!" "Than why does it hurt so much!?" "It hurts so much because you love her! You thought of her as your bestest friend. You may miss her, but you have to let go. I know it's not that easy, but Twinkle Shine wouldn't want you to obsess over her death for the rest of your life. Now... Is there anything else in the story that you forgot to mention?" "Oh... Well.... I guess that since she passed away, I became very depressed. I wouldn't talk about anything else and I was constantly sad. Eventually, the other students didn't want to be around me anymore because of my depression, so they all stopped talking to me. My friend killing herself and everyone else in school refusing to talk to me because of my sad attitude, BOTH only made my depression even harder to deal with. Finally, I tried to kill myself. But I failed. After that, my parents had enough and decided to send me to another school..." Fluttershy looked down. That explained everything. Every little detail she said explained all of her questions. The bell suddenly rung. Fluttershy and Golden Dust stood up and gathered their stuff and just before they left the room, Fluttershy said, "Thank you Golden. We can continue this tomorrow." Fluttershy than walked down the hallway and Golden Dust smiled before she moved on to her next class. Author's Note I don't own any book called The Ultimate Guide to Making Your Own Video Games. This is also the complete version of Chapter 4. Chapter 5 will be out very soon.
