Shadows in Twilight

When Twilight got to the kitchen she saw the room had dark crystal walls, a table in the middle,cabinets around the room and a red velvet carpet on the floor. So she walked up to the cabinet and opened the small door.

Twilight took a cup from the cabinet. She opened the cabinet slowly and grabbed a crystal cup and closed the cabinet with a SLAM. She then went to open the fridge and she saw some water. She illuminated her horn in a pink glow and grasped the water pitcher in her magical grasp. She pored herself some water and then put it back in the fridge.

She walked towards the small table in the middle of the kitchen and took a seat on the soft cushioned chair. She took the cup in her hooves and lifted it to her lips drinking the cool and refreshing water. She put it down gently on the table and thought to herself.

"Why not go tell my brother the good news" she thought with a smile on her face..

She left the kitchen in a hurry and galloped directly down the dark halls and through the throne room and through the doors to the dungeon. Twilight walked down the spiral staircase, and once she got to the dark hallway she walked down the hall and yelled out."Shinning I'm here, I have great news".

Shinning Armor heard her loud and clear. He stood up on his hooves and he walked up the bars,then he saw his sister coming near. "Twily what has you all excited?" He asked with a concerned look on his face.

Twilight got to his cell and looked at him with a smile on her face. "Shinning I have so much news for you, you won't beleive whats been happening to me" she said to him. Shinning looked at her in disbelief, how could anything good come from spending time in a castle with Sombra.

"Twily what's got you so excited, I thought you know that you would've come to see me because he hurt you again" he said looking at her in the eyes.

"Thank you Shinny I really appreciate you looking out for me but I'm fine I actually want to talk to you about some pretty amazing things Sombra has done for me" she said to him excitedly showing a huge smile on her face.

"So Sombra has really tried to make it up to me, first he took me on a date and now he's taking me to a masquerade ball in Manehattan tonight, he is being just amazing to me" Shinning smiled knowing that Twilight was happy but he was thinking Sombra was trying to hard to gain her trust.

Then Shinning spoke in an adult like tone."Twily I am happy that your ok and happy but don't you think he's trying abit too hard , I mean  he could be doing all of this to get you to trust him and then he might take over the empire again or worse" Once he said that Twilight looked at him in disbelief.

"Shinning I know Sombra's tricky like that but it's like you're accusing me of being nieve. Do you really think I'm that stupid" she said angrily glaring at him. She turned around from him and faced another cell but it was empty.

Shinning was starting to get upset. "Twilight I'm trying to protect you , you are my little sister and I am your big brother I'm suppose to take care of you, I'm not saying your nieve"

Twilight turned her head back to her big brother. And said. "You know what Shinning Armor you are my brother, but you cannot tell me who to trust I am old enough to make my own choices" she said as she stomped away from him angrily.

Shinning had to think quick and say something before she left. "Twily please come back I didn't mean, Twilight get back here right now!!" He yelled out to her sternly trying to get her attention. But all she did was walk all the way down the hallway and walked up the staircase. Her hooves clopping against the concrete stairs. Then he heard the door close and that was it.

He slumped back down to the floor looking sad and feeling upset with himself. "I am so FUCKING STUPID, now she's angry with me she won't want to talk to me and now she's going to trust that lying tyrant" he never felt as bad as he did then in all his life, he just made his sister hate him. Now he hated himself.

With Twilight

As he closed the door to the dungeon she rested her back against the door and slipped down to the floor starting to cry and sniffle. She just sat there on her own wondering why he would hurt her like that , he was her brother. "Why would he not trust me, why?" She thought to herself.

Then Sombra came from around the corner and was looking at his papers when he suddenly heard a sniffling sound. He looked in Twilig direction seeing her crying. He set his papers down on the table and slowly walked towards Twilight and slowly looked at her with a curious look on his face. He got close to her and slumped down to her level.

"Twilight are you ok , what happened you look awful" he said in a concerning voice hoping to make her understand he cared about her. She suddenly looked up at him leaning towards him slowly crying on his shoulder.

"My brother doesn't trust me to take care of myself, he thinks your tricking me into trusting you so you can take over the Crystal Empire again" she told him while sniffling with tears still running from her eyes.

Sombra lifted a hoof and put it around her shoulders and the other hoof slowly and lovingly stroked her mane. She stopped crying finally and looked up at him with a smile. The he kissed her right cheek softly making her blush a light pink.

Sombra let go of the kiss and smirked Evily , then he looked into her big beautiful eyes and gave her a smile and spoke to Twilight sweetly. "Twilight your brother just doesn't  understand the love I have for you, and if he doesn't care about your happiness he doesn't matter" he said to her.

"Anyway Twilight I think we should both get ready for the ball sweetie let's go" he stood up and took her hooves in his and pulled her up gently and slowly and they headed towards their bedroom. To get ready for their big night.

As they were walking down the long hallway Sombra started thinking. "Maybe I should go check on Twilight's brother myself, pay him a little visit and tell him what a bad brother he is" suddenly he stopped walking and Twilight looked at him and said.

"Sombra why did you stop walking is something wrong?" He looked at Twilight and saw that cut look concern on her face, she was so adorable.

"I forgot I had some papers to fill out before, you go to our room and get ready I'll be there momentarily" Sombra said leaning in and giving Twilight a sweet loving kiss on the cheek. Then he leaned away from her and started to quickly gallop away from her. Twilight just stood there and decided to head on down to the room to get rely for the big night ahead. And she was going to surprise him with a new look that would take his breath away.

With Sombra

He continued running until he got to the door and pushed it open then quickly defending down the staircase. When he got to the end he strode down the hallway looking as regaling powerful  as he could so all the guards could see him and know there was no hope for them.

He then reached Shinning Armors cell and saw that he was indeed upset with himself and you could tell by the upset look on his face. "You look so week and pathetic you know that Mr.Armor, but you know what I am glad you are unhappy with yourself. You just made your sister hate you, and that benefits me because now she hates you and wants to talk to me and trust me." He said gloating at Shinning Armor.

Shinning just got so mad he started to get up and ram himself against the bars of this cell looking at Sombra in rage. "You MOTHER FUCKING SHIT, if you hurt her I swear to god I will kill you myself"

"Oh is that so because last time I checked you're the one looked up so you won't be killing anypony , and you will not speak to you Tking in such a FILTHY TONE YOU FUCKING RETARD!!!" Sombra yelled out in fits of anger. Then he suddenly changed his expression from an angry one to a devious grin. "Shinning Armor you have no one to blame but yourself, she hates you now and trusts me so you can rot in hear and watch me love her, mate with her and marry her while you can't do shit about it" he said as he walked away m walking down the hallway back up the steps.

Shinning then yelled at Sombra in furry. "You better not touch her do you hear me!!". After he spoke Shinning just slid to the floor in shame. His sister was going to suffer and it was all his fault , and there was nothing he could do about it.

In Sombra's Room

Twilight was all ready to go and while she was looking at herself in the mirror Sombra walked in the room closing the door right behind him.

"Sombra thank goodness you're here what do you think about this dress, how do I look?" As soon as Twilight was done talking he looked up to her and saw she had a blue dress on with a trail at the end her hair was curving in some parts and she had a star clip in her mane right beside her ear, she looked dazzling.

"You look like a goddess in that dress , and your mane looks good in that style" he said to her kindly walking towards the wardrobe and he took out a tux that he wore when they had there first dinner together.

He pulled it over his head and pulled his mane out of the collar on the dress shirt. "Ok Twilight let's go" he said softly as he grabbed her hoof in his and slowly started to walk out of the room and down the hall. Twilight was happy that she was finally going to go out, because spending so much time in a castle can make you go crazy.

They were at the grand entrance of the castle and a guard bowed to them as he opened the door for the couple to pass through. Once hey were outside Twilight saw an amazingly and beautiful crystal carriage in the front. They walked towards it and Sombra opened the door and said. "Ladies first" as he stood next to the entrance of the carriage and gave her his hoof and she took it gladly, smiling at him while she got up in the carriage and sat on the soft cushioned seat. Then Sombra joined her and sat next to her, and she leaned on his shoulder and closed her eyes with a peaceful smile on her face.

As the carriage was slowly getting to Manehattan through the blizzard and passing the Crystal Empire. Twilight was just happily sitting there feeling like everything was going to be ok and she was going to be alright. Sombra moved him head to look down at Twilight and spoke.

"Would you like some wine my dear I've got some under the seat if you do?" He said to her. Then she looked up at him and sat up straight and nodded to him. So I picked up a bottle of red wine and took two glasses for him and her and poured the red wine into them putting the bottle down and handing her her cup. She took it in her grasp.

She brought it to her lips and drank the warm liquid and it warmed her tummy. "It's perfect thank you, you're really sweet" she said to him happily. He just drank his wine and then remembered something.

"Why don't we cheers to a wonderful relationship" she turned towards him and lifted her glass up carefully into the air as did he and Twilight spoke with Sombra. "To a happy relationship"they CLANKED there glasses together and drank from there glasses. They both then put the empty glasses down and then they looked at each other with a little smile.

"Sombra I can't wait till we get there and I can't wait to have an amazing time" when she said that he knew she was happy with him and that's all he wanted, was for her to be happy.

Suddenly the carriage stopped and the driver said. "We're here your highness" then Sombra stood up opened the door and stepped out slowly, then Twilight got up and Sombra gave her a hoof getting down. When she looked at the huge meeting hall everyone was dressed regally and there was food and the room had a dance floor in the middle of the room and there were tables and chairs to sit on.

The place was beautiful you could see everything from outside. Sombra closed the door and he walked up beside Twilight and took her hoof in his and gave her a smile as they strode into the ball room. Sombra took out the masks from his jacket pocket and gave one to her and they put them on and they kept walking.

Once they were on the dance floor Sombra spoke to her with a smile on his face and said. "Why don't we get some food Twilight, we haven't had dinner yet come with me" without saying another word he pulled her towards the food table. They picked up a plate each and say all kinds of food on silver trays on the table.

Twilight had some rise, pees,shrimp and potatoes. Sombra had the same thing except instead of potatoes he had some fruit. They walked through some people on the dance floor trying not to push or shove anypony  once they got through the bustling crowd of dancing ponies, the approached a table and Sombra pulled a chair out for Twilight and she gently placed her plate on the table in front of her and she sat down on the cold chair. Sombra pushed it in for her, then he walked to the other side of the table and put his food on the table and pulled out  the chair for himself and he took a seat .

Twilight lifted a fork with her magic and ate some of her rise. It was definitely good, and she loves how it tasted. Sombra just enjoyed watching Twilight enjoy herself it made him feel like he'd done something good for once in his life. It made him feel not evil, it made him feel happy to have someone who could make his life a good one.

"Twilight once your finished your food would you do me the honour  to dance with me?" Sombra said to her and she just nodded to him with a smile on her face.

Twilight finally finished her meal and wiped her mouth with a napkin. Slowly wiping her chin and placing it next to her plate. Sombra didn't bother to finish he rest of his shrimp and he stood up and pushed the chair back in and slowly walked towards Twilight giving her a delicate smile and said.

"Come dance with me my princess" he said sweetly to her. She just looked up at him smiling and as he places his hoof for her to take and she took it. She stood up and slowly walked with Sombra to the dance floor and they started to place there hooves.

Twilight put her free hoof on Sombra's shoulder as he put his at her waist.

He was more than ready and smiled warmly. Sombra held her hoof and took the first step.

And as if it was natural instinct within both the mare and stallion, they began moving in rhythm with the music.

Step by step, Twilight and Sombra danced around the room, taking in the lovely sound of the piano and violins. They moved smoothly together through the room, neither missing a beat as their hind hooves followed their respective partners.

Their eyes were locked onto each other through the whole dance not letting either one swift out of sight of the other.

They didn’t need to worry about their steps or their rhythm as they moved. The only thing that kept their minds occupied now was their infatuation with each other.

Twilight couldn’t help but admire Sombra’s dark red eyes. They held love in them and she just fell in love with how he looked at her with love and passion.

The couple moved with grace.

They weren’t static nor hesitant in their steps they just moved together.

It seemed the outside world was just that; outside and non-existent. Then a song Sombra hadn't heard since he was a colt came on.

“I haven’t heard this song in since I was a filly.,” Sombra said with a sense of nostalgia, staying in step with his beautiful mare.

Twilight stopped dancing and suddenly thought. "What happened to him when he was young to make him evil" Sombra stopped dancing too and saw the look on her face which he knew meant she was in deep thought , so he tapped her shoulder with a hoof.

"What's are you thinking about Twilight?" He asked her caring and curiously with a small look of worry on his face.

Twilight just looked at him for a few seconds and said. "I was just wondering, after you said you hadn't heard that song since you were a colt I just wondered. What lead you to becoming the evil king you became, I mean shouldn't there be a reason?" She asked him looking in his eyes , seeing right away after she said that , that he looked upset, and he just sighed.

"Twilight I think we should go sit down and talk about this , come on let's go" he took her hoof and they walked through the crowd to get to their table. Once they did they sat down again.

"Twilight I will tell you but you have to promise me you won't hate me no matter what I have done some horrible things in my past and I don't want it to destroy things between us alright" Sombra said to her looking at her seriously. So she nodded and said.

"Ok Sombra , just tell me everything please I need to know" she said to him pleadingly. So he nodded and started to tell his story.

"As a colt, I was found in the frozen wasteland north of the Crystal Empire and brought to live at an orphanage. "Sombra" was the only word I spoke, so it became my name. I eventually learned to read, write, and speak properly, but I  faced ostracism and teasing from other foals due to my manner of speech and lack of a cutie mark. I was approached only by an equally teased filly named Radiant Hope,and the two of us became close friends."

"Throughout that year, me and Radiant Hope saved up gems for the upcoming Crystal Faire, a magical celebration centered around the Crystal Empire. When we went go to gaze upon the Crystal Heart at the palace, we had visions of the future—Hope saw herself as a princess, and I  saw himself as an evil king of darkness. Princess Amore the ruler of the Crystal Empire, appeared and, sensing my fear of the vision, told me I had the power to change it."

"Four days later, when the Crystal Faire arrives, I  suddenly came down with severe aches and pains, which only worsen as the Faire went on. Radiant Hope forgot about the Faire and stayed with me and sat at my bedside, and by the next day I  was healthy again. However, each following year, I suffered the same pains on the day of the Faire. One year, my condition worsened to a point where my body began to crystallize and fracture. Radiant Hope used her magic to heal me, and she gained her cutie mark, discovering a special talent in healing any injury or ailment."

"Hope's magical talent got the attention of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna and she was invited to study with them in Canterlot, Realizing that Hope's path to becoming a princess meant my own dark destiny would also soon come true, I ran off into the frozen wasteland outside the empire. There, I  ran into a strange red crystal. The crystal spoke to me, calling itself my mother, and revealed that I was not a pony but an "umbrum"—shadow and smoke given physical form to save them"

"I was created to destroy the Crystal Heart, Princess Amore's weapon against the darkness, and set free the umbrum army that sleeps below the city. The crystal awakened my dormant powers so that I  could carry out this purpose. The crystal said if I did not remove the Crystal Heart before the next Faire, it would of destroyed me"

"Under the cover of night, as I stole the Crystal Heart from its pedestal, Princess Amore arrived to try and stop me. Having known of my true nature all along, Amore tried to steer me along the right path. I was, enraged that Amore knowingly caused me years of pain, I turned her into a black crystal statue. Radiant Hope then appeared, horrified by what I done, and plead for me to stop. I ruled over the Crystal Ponies who tormented me and I offered Hope to rule by my side. When she refused, I shattered the statue of Princess Amore."

"Radiant Hope ran off to warn Celestia and Luna about my rise to power. During this time, I enslaved the Crystal Ponies to free the umbrum army underground and scattered the fragments of Amore's statue across the world so she cannot be restored in time to stop me. Knowing of my defeat by Celestia and Luna, I enacted a terrible curse, and Radiant Hope was forced to watch her home disappear."

"And that's how I became evil and the moments that lead to my defeat" he said sadly.

Twilight looked at him in shock but at the same time she felt bad for him, his whole life was messed up the only friend he ever had was Radiant Hope and he lost her. So Twilight decided to speak up to him. "You know what Sombra I don't hate you,in fact I feel bad for you , all your life you have suffered. Let's go home. She said to him kindly with a side smile.

They got up from their seats and headed straight towards the exit holding each other's hoof. They walked out when the cool night air hit their fur making Twikight shiver. When Sombra saw this he placed his hooves around her and hugged her as they continued walking towards the carriage.

Sombra opened the door for her and helped her in , she sat down slowly and Sombra followed and sat next to her placing his hooves around her and so she leaned her head gently on his shoulder.

As she did so he could feel her warm breath on his shoulder making him start to get hard, so he tried to hide it. But she was just so intoxicating it was hard not to feel this way around her.

Their carriage strolled through the night as they both fell asleep in the carriage.
