Princess Twilight Sparkle, a kind princess, with good friends and born into a noble family, seeks to find a way to better pony kind. Her idea is that Ponies are made up of two halves: one good and the other evil. She seeks to find a way to remove the evil from ponies and bring about the birth of a perfect pony society based only on good.

Once she discovers a way, she uses her self to test it, only to unleash a new horror on her self and Equestria: That horror is one Midnight Darkness, the evil half of Twilight Sparkle.
