Chapter 1: The Proposal

"Where did I put that diamond ring", I said to no one in particular.

"What ring daddy?" Said a voice behind me.
"Oh hi Night Heart, did you need something?", I replied.

"Huh? I don't get what ring your on about", said another voice; this one belonging to my eldest daughter Soft Note.

"Its for my special somepony", I replied with a sigh. "Daddy?

Who's your special somepony?" Night Heart asked.

"Yeah Dad, who is it?" Soft Note added.

"Take a guess girls", I replied with a smile.

Looking down at the floor, Soft Note sees my ring and picks it up. "Is it for Silver Heart?" Soft Note asked.

"Yes it's for Silver Heart" I replied with a huge grin.

"Daddy I found your ring. It was on the floor" She said as she gave me the ring.

"Thank you sweetheart, I don't know what I would do with you”. I said before booping her on the nose.

As I am doing this Sergeant Firestorm of the Cloudominan Royal Guard enters to tell me that Silver Heart is here.

Silver Heart is here Your Highness!" Firestorm said as he entered the room.

"Thank you Sergeant" I replied, "let her in."

As Firestom leaves Silver Heart enters crying because she thinks she knows why I asked her to come to the Castle.

"Whats wrong Ms. Silver Heart? Night Heart asked; a look of worry in her eyes.

"I think they are tears of happiness" Soft Note Replied. "Well... At least I think they are", Soft Note added.

"I wanna know" Night Heart whined.

"Night Heart let's go to my room, so they can have some privacy."

"Okay Sis" Night Heart replied. "What do you think is going on?"

"I think Dad is going to propose to her, that's why I said we should go to my room" Soft Note stated.

"Wait! That would mean Silver Heart would be our Mom!" Night Heart exclaimed happily.

"Technically she would be our Stepmother" Soft Note corrected her. "I just hope she says yes" she added.

"I do too sis", replied Night Heart.

"Silver Heart, there is something I have been meaning to ask you" I said with a nervous grin.

"W-what is it" Silver Heart replied with uncertainty.

"We have known each other for a long time and I would like to take our relationship a bit further." I said as bowed in front of her. "Silver Heart, would you marry me? I asked nervously.

Silver Heart stood there for a second, processing what she just heard. "YES!!" Silver Heart said as she hugged me with tears in her eyes.

"I love you honey" I said as I smiled and hugged her back.

"YEEEEEEESSSSSSS!" came a voice from down the hall which could belong to Night Heart. "Soft Note, Dad's engaged!" Night Heart added quickly.

At that same moment, my younger brother/ Lieutenant General of the Cloudominian Guard/Military; Prince Onyx entered my room

"Wow, Congratulations brother on your engagement." My brother said with a smile.

"Thanks brother, I'm glad your excited as I am about my engagement" I said as I leaned over to kiss Silver Heart.

Then he added, "So who's planning your wedding?"

Sis, when do you think they are gonna get married?" Night Heart whined.

"I don't know sis, Soft Note replied. "Its gonna be awesome to have a Royal Wedding in the Cloudominan Empire!" Soft Note exclaimed with a bounce.

"Maybe we could be the wedding planners. Night Heart replied with a grin.

"That would be awesome sis, should we ask whether we can plan it?" said Soft Note; to which Night Heart replied, "I want to surprise daddy with our plans."

Night Heart watches as Soft Note pulls out a list

"Whats that for?" a curious Night Heart asked.

"Its just a notebook so we can plan for the wedding", Soft Note explained before levitating a quill and ink well over to her. "Okay so we need story sort out Rings, Outfits, Entertainment, Food, Cake, Venue, Transportation, Best Mare, Bridesmaids, The After Party, as well as the Decorations" Soft Note added.

"Alright, where should we start?" Night Heart asked.

"Venue... We need to get that sorted, the question is where should we have it?" Soft Note replied

"What do you think about the Casstle? We should ask dad if we could use it." Night Heart said with a smile.

"Yeah let's ask dad" Soft Note Replied, then adding "Do you know where he is Night Heart?"

"No sis I don't know where he is, but I think he might be in his room with Silver Heart" was Nght Heart's reply.

"Shall we find out?" Soft Note said as she began to walk to my bedroom".

A short time later I hear a knock on my bedroom door and Soft Note calling my name.

"Yes I'm in here girls, come on in... What did you need?" asked, a curious expression on my face.

"We were thinking about using the Castle for you wedding, is that ok with you?" Soft Note asked nervously; to which I replied "Sure, just please be careful."

"Oh Okay, thanks daddy. Just a reminder but you'll need to pick a best mare" Soft Note said as she and Nght Heart left my room.

As soon as they left I resumed my kissing session with Silver Heart only to be interrupted by my brother teleporting into my room.

"Onyx, how many times do I have to tell you not to teleport into my bedroom!" I asked with an agitated tone.

"Sorry Jay, sorry Silver Heart. I just wanted to know if I'm invited to your wedding?" replied Onyx sheepishly.

"Yes your invited... besides, even if you don't attention the wedding as Prince, you would be attending it as Lieutenant General of the Guard." I replied with laugh. "There is no way I wouldn't invite my own brother."
