Rainbow Dash awoke. Her eyes came into focus on a horribly familiar face.
Pinkie Pie.
The earth pony giggled while doing something to RD's chest cavity. She winced, but felt no pain.
In fact, she felt strong. Strong enough to kick her ex-friend into the next dimension. With a vengeful roar, she flexed to break her bonds. Except she came un-done instantly, as if the straps weren't even there. Not taking time to wonder why, she launched herself at Pinkie Pie-
and sailed right through her.
What the hay?!?
She skidded across the floor, desperately trying to keep herself from falling over. Finding traction, she turned herself around and charged again. And again, flew through Pinkie.
Rainbow Dash stopped, dumbstruck. It seemed like the pony didn't even know she was there, evidenced by her merry singing and complete ignorance of RD's attack. Then, her eyes fell upon something horrible.
There, on Pinkie's torture table, laid a horribly mutilated Rainbow Dash. The pegasus nearly puked at the sight of her body, carved up and gutted. She averted her eyes, squeezing them shut to keep the image from her mind.
"Well Rainbow," Chirped a sickeningly happy voice. "You put up quite a fight! I wish we could have played longer, but some ponies just can't take it. Oh well, I've got a friend to make!"
Bile rose in the pegasus' throat. How could she have done this to me? I thought we were friends. Wait. Her mind started to spin. How am I still alive? She looked back at her wings, fluttering them. I have my wings? Her enthusiasm was dampened by the shocking realization. Everything became clear.
Horribly clear.
"I'm, a- a," Rainbow's voice trembled, trying to come to terms with her new reality. "I'm a ghost."
Just saying the words caused her heart to wrench. Rainbow Dash had never really thought about what happened after she died- she was more of a here and now thinker. But she was dead, here and now. She took a closer look at her body. She was shocked to find it was slightly transparent, and blurry. Her eyes went back to her murderer, rage taking the place of confusion and curiosity.
"You did this to me." She seethed. "Now I'll never get to join the Wonderbolts. I'll never get to talk with Scootaloo again. I'll never find love.
Every realization fell like nails in a coffin. Pinkie Pie would pay for what she's done.
Oh, how she would pay.
