Rust
Itch
Load Full StoryHis silver eyes shot around the road, watching as the other ponies slowly backed away. One mare even ran heading towards where Double Diamond, Party Favor, Night Glider, Sugar Belle, and some others had gone. The new ponies were probably already on their way to defeat Starlight.
Silver Flash had felt more betrayed in that moment than he had ever known. She had promised they'd all be equal, he wouldn't have to be worried about what his Cutie Mark said about him.
She had trusted him, unlike everyone else. Yet she turned out to be just another liar. His hooves itched, but
he shook it off. Silver had put that behind him.
Yet he could tell these ponies had his Cutie Mark in the front of their minds. I mean, what sane pony has a gray pistol for a Cutie Mark?
He can't say 'me' nor 'not me'. He can't tell if he's crazy or not.
But the ponies that had seen his Cutie Mark reappear? Oh, they were so sure they knew the answer. That he was crazy.
You see, ponies have a special in-built ability that allows them to immediately tell what a pony's Cutie Mark means. Like when he saw the yellow mare's Cutie mark, he immediately knew she was good with helping and treating animals.
So when others saw his Cutie Mark, they immediately knew what it meant: That Silver had shot somepony.
Oh, what a wonderful feeling, knowing everypony knows that he's shot somepony.
Even his best friend, a stallion called Fresh Water, looked at him in horror. He was the only pony he actually bonded with under Starlight's reign, and he looked like he didn't even know Silver.
He backed up, and my black tail hit the house behind me. His light blue hooves fumbled on the ground, and the itch was back, worse than ever. He should've expected it, considering how long his Cutie Mark has been dormant inside that cave.
He tried his hardest to suppress it. The stallion tried and tried, and his heart pounded. Silver's horn now itched too. And it itched like hell.
The pony needed to get to his house and to his closet- No, he needed to stay calm and focus and not think about going upstairs and grabbing a gun and- No. NO. He needed to stay calm.
He grabbed the sides of his head and shook as he sunk to the ground. Finally, a voice broke through.
"Everyone, please relax! If he came here, he must have wanted a fresh start- Most likely without his Cutie Mark! Please, calm down!"
I opened my eyes and saw a familiar blue pony- Party Favor. He looked brighter with his Cutie Mark back.
And his flank also looked fine from back there. But now was not the time, and Silver's pretty sure he could see Party eyeing Double out of the corner of his eyes.
But he was nice. He's rambling again, sorry.
He tuned back in to the conversation at hoof. "-e probably regrets doing it!" He turned to me, an eyebrow raised anxiously.
Silver nodded slowly. "I wish I had never done it."
Lies. That monster deserved it.
Party sighed in relief. "Everyone, please calm down! Besides, we need to celebrate getting our Cutie Marks yet!" There was a cheer that went around, and the ponies followed him.
He stood in the doorway, sighing, and closed the door behind him, locking it. Silver Flash went upstairs and opened up the closet doors.
Each gun was polished and reflected the light coming in from the window. He picked up a pistol in his aura, and sighed softly as the itching became much less annoying, before hanging it back in the closet.
It had been a long day, and he really didn't want to think any more. He had a headache, and the pony's heart still pounded, though not as fiercely as before.
Now all he had to do was wait for the angry mob to try to run him out of town.
The blonde-maned Pegasus shook his head, trying to get the sand out of his mane. He hadn't realized that his powers would probably ignite very strongly.
Well, and by powers, he means his ability to make sandstorms. It's actually quite common for Pegasi to be able to control elements of nature in this sort of way.
He glanced fondly at his Cutie Mark. It was a picture of a desert island in the middle of the ocean with a huge half-built cruise ship next to it. In case you're wondering, it meant Sand Storm, that's the name of this stallion, was good at making something big out of something little.
He placed his dark brown hooves on the top of a building as he watched the crowd leave, a single stallion staying and entering his home.
Sand shrugged, and flew off after the crowd.
